Guest Reviews
- Eric (9/5): I have great stay and the host very helpful! - Quiet and clean The only access to the house is the open exterior stair, going up to 2nd or third floor depending on your room
- Cory (10/5): - We had a great time at this apartment. It’s located close to bus stops and the hatagaya train station. The apartment was great and nice to be in a authentic tokyo apartment. Clean, comfortable and the host was amazing. Only down side is stairs are steep to access so not suitable for little kids or elderly. But steep stairs are common in tokyo apartments. Everything else was great.
- Sebastião (6/5): -
- Akhtar Hussain (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at this apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The location is excellent—both bus stops and the train station are nearby, making it very convenient to get around. It’s only about a 7-minute walk, which made commuting really easy. There are also plenty of local shops close by, including a Family Mart, and we even found Lime scooters available nearby, which was a fun and convenient way to explore.
The apartment itself was great. We stayed in a two double bed unit, which was spacious, clean, and very comfortable for our group. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Jacob went out of his way to assist us by pinning halal food locations on my Google Maps, which we really appreciated. There are also a few halal food options within walking distance, which made things even easier for us.
Overall, a wonderful experience with a great location, comfortable space, and a very thoughtful host. I would definitely stay here again!
- Natsumi (10/5): -
- Olivia (9/5): Great value for money. Lovely host - The location was perfect with a bus stop just down the street. The host was really great as well and gave us some great recommendations.
- Kuy (10/5): An amazing experience - Words cannot describe our stay at this apartment. From the first moment, Jacob the host, was so friendly and helpful. He waited for us outside the apartment, and insisted to carry our 3 BIG suitcases up the stairs(3 floors) to the apartment. He sat down with us, and was so friendly. We chatted, and got to know each other, and then he recommended us about tens of places around Tokyo, which we actually tried and were amazed!
The apartment itself is very big and spacious, the equipment and facilities are amazing and comfortable. There is also a kitchen that you can use to cook breakfast/dinner.
- Bin (5/5): Great host with some concerns of hygiene standard - Jacob was a wonderful and kind host who generously allowed us to check in early on our arrival day. This made a big difference, as we were able to drop off our luggage and start exploring the city right away. He provided clear and detailed instructions for reaching the property—we opted to take a taxi from the Shinjuku Station West Exit, which cost around 1,400 yen.
Jacob also kindly accommodated our request by setting up a third sofa bed, which we really appreciated.
The property is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the Shibuya District, offering a unique opportunity to experience everyday life in Japan like a local. This was our first time using Booking.com, so we weren’t entirely sure what to expect compared to hotels or other platforms. One concern, particularly for my wife, was the cleanliness and sanitization of the towels and linens. We were expecting hotel-style white linens but received home-style bath towels and sheets. While they appeared clean, they gave the impression of being laundered in a home washing machine rather than professionally sanitized, which left us unsure about the hygiene standards.
The property itself is a bit dated (with carpeting and a non-functioning bidet), and the steep, narrow staircase up to the third floor could be challenging for guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues.
- amanda (6/5): - It was functional but dated. The kitchen and toilet could do with updating. In the kitchen there was black tape on the cooking appliance and tape on the cupboards and over some of the switches there was also black tape.. Not sure why they were taped up. There are two flights of steps up to the apartment but no night light.
- Mathias (9/5): - Very calm and quiet place but close to Shibuya and Shinjuku. Very friendly host. Not a problem for us but please be aware that the stairs up to the apartment are rather steep, so not suitable for disabled people.
- Sabbath (9/5): Excellent - Clean, spacious, comfortable and close to all the right places Steep stairs
- hicham (8/5): -
- Kittima (8/5): - The accommodation is on the 3rd floor. The stair is narrow and might not be comfortable for the elderly. Overall is good place, not far from Shinjuku and value for money.
- Ki (10/5): - 沒有
- Ngiangann (Tim) (10/5): -
- Tarun (9/5): - Location, budget and close to pretty much anything you need for a good holiday. So close to the heart of Shinjuku.
- Léo (9/5): - All the comfort we needed, the host was very friendly and helpful
- Harvi (10/5): -
- David (8/5): - Amazing host who went above and beyond to orient us and give us tips on where to eat and which buses to take.
- Julia (10/5): Amazing would come again 10/10 - Our Landlord was a very cool guy, he showed us a variety of cheap food places, and the house was close to baisicly everything we wanted Nothing
- Adrienne (10/5): It was a very pleasant stay. We will contact him again in the future when we visit Tokyo again. Great place and great cu - This property is nice and clean, location is near subway, stores and restaurants. Quick access to everything by walking.
The host came and meet us personally to make sure that we have everything we needed. Host speaks perfectly English so that was a plus since we don’t speak Japanese at all.
We travelled with 3 boys, 8 years old, 3 and 1.
The host came to meet with us and even helped with carrying our luggages to the unit.
- wuhsiung (10/5): -
- Guy (9/5): - The owner is very communicative and tries his best to help us have a comfortable stay including early baggage drop in The apartment isn’t as lavish or modern as some of the other places we got to experience
- Hugo (10/5): -
- louis (10/5): - Good and convenient location in a calm and nice street with nearby bus and railway station.
- Sharon (8/5): - Locatie, dicht bij metro en bus station en veel winkels in de buurt, maar in een heerlijk rustig straatje.
Appartement is compleet ingericht.
- Corine (10/5): Clean, quiet, great host! - Our host Jacob met us at check-in and gave lots of recommendations for local eateries. He gladly answered other questions to help us settle in. The place was clean and spacious enough for 4. Quiet neighborhood and very short walk to 2 buses on 2 different streets, and also a subway station nearby to Shinjuku station. Stairs going up to the third floor are a bit narrow.
- Nicole (10/5): Host went above and beyond! Place is 5 mins away from a bus stop and around 10 mins away from a train station. - We had an amazing 5-day stay in Tokyo from May 18–22, and Jacob was truly the highlight that made our trip even more special. From the start, communication with him was smooth and prompt—he provided clear instructions, local tips, and was always available for any questions we had.
The accommodation was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring Tokyo. Jacob went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, and his attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Little touches like local recommendations and a warm welcome made all the difference.
Thanks to Jacob, our Tokyo experience was stress-free and memorable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at his place again and highly recommend him to anyone visiting the city. Thank you, Jacob, for your outstanding hospitality!
- Leigh (9/5): Perfect place to start our stay in Tokyo - The accommodation was dated, but clean and tidy. I wasn't expecting much considering the cost and this place exceeded my expectations. Beds were comfortable, and fairly quiet at night and we got a good sleep. Jacob the host was excellent and even gave us some helpful hints on our arrival. Nothing. although the steps are steep and narrow, it didn't worry us, but probably not for the very old with mobility issues
- Christopher (9/5): Would definitely come back! - Jacob is an exceptional host! He made the check in extremely easy, provided us with great hints and recommendations for our stay in Tokyo and offered to help at any time. For a group of four, the apartment might be a tiny bit too small. Especially in terms of storage for clothes, luggage, etc.
However, this does not at all negatively affect the overall great experience!
- Miguel (10/5): Awesome stay and awesome host - We had a wonderful stay at this apartment in Tokyo! Jacob was an amazing host—super kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. He helped us with our bags and shared a bunch of great recommendations for places to visit and things to do around the city. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Tokyo! I liked everything
- Chongruk (9/5): Superb - Host service and advice very kind and nice. Room facilities and internet pocket as well.
- Wasantha (2/5): Very poor - I wanted to share a challenging experience I faced on March 29th, and I hope you can understand how disheartening it was. Upon waking that morning, I was upset to discover a significant leak from some detergent sachets stored in the cupboard. The detergent had spilled all over the cupboard in the master bedroom and part of the master bedroom, creating quite a mess. To make matters worse, my Apple laptop was on the floor inside that cupboard. After returning to Sri Lanka on March 31st, I took it to a local authorized dealer, only to learn that it was sadly beyond repair. Losing a valuable item and the enjoyment I had looked forward to during my stay was truly heartbreaking.
As if that wasn't enough, carrying our luggage up and down three floors of stairs were incredibly exhausting. If we had known about these inconveniences ahead of time, we likely would have thought twice about choosing this property. It’s really disheartening to encounter such challenges during what should have been a wonderful experience. I appreciate your understanding as I share this.
- Marius (10/5): Perfect - Absolutely amazing stay! This is a fantastic, quiet place that offers the perfect balance between tranquility and easy access to the city. The metro is just around the corner, making it incredibly convenient to explore from one end to the other without any hassle. The apartment itself is spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay.
Jacob, the host, is truly exceptional—kind, attentive, and always available if you need anything. His warm hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. If you’re looking for a peaceful yet well-connected place to stay, this is an absolute gem. Highly recommended—10/10! Everything was perfect!
- Przemyslaw (10/5): Good appartament for families with children - Nice appartament in a quite good location for reasonable price.
- Brent (8/5): Cosy, simple accom in a great location - Close to Shinjuku, enough space for a family of four. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. The stairs were steep/small and difficult to haul luggage up safely
- Michael (10/5): God bless this hotel - Jacob our host was very kind and helped us a lot on our trip with recomendations and helping us get set up in the apartment Nothing everything was perfect and awsome
- Sassoon (10/5): Exceptional - Much larger than comparably priced hotels, in a nice neighbourhood where you feel like a local.
Jacob was incredibly accommodating and helpful, giving us tips on great local restaurants and cafes, and he even came around to help us carry our baggage to the bus stop, where he gave us the most efficient directions to Tokyo Narita Airport.
We can definitely see ourselves staying here again on our next visit to Tokyo. For anyone with mobility issues, or just very heavy luggage, you will have to make your way up the narrow staircase
- Dfv (9/5): excellent - Host Jacob is superb, very helpful, and stays in contact. location is very good and so are the rooms. n.a. zero complaints or problems
- Mateusz (10/5): Exceptional - Owner really helpfull! Perfect place
- Ross (9/5): Fantastic host thru text. Tucked away apartment in quiet neighbourhood. - Very attentive, helpful host. He shared many links to save me from researching the area myself. Also answered all my questions even unrelated ones! He messaged back instantly. The host made everything so much easier and welcoming for us.
Apartment was very nice, very comfy.
Very close to Shinjuku via train from the closest station. 10 min walk to subway station, nestled in a quiet neighbourhood. But with a short walk you can find restaurants, bars etc, just over the main road.
- Alejandro (10/5): It was great! - Great location No issues
- Sujan (7/5): Good -
- Ruo (6/5): For those who like the local vibe but are ok with walking - The location is quite local and therefore nearby stores are meant for locals. It gave us a good insight into local life. Frankly, for the money we paid, we expected a bit more up-to-date furnishing. The state of the apartment we found when we arrived did not reflect the pictures posted on the ad. The beds are not very comfortable and everything is carpeted. If you have dust mite allergies (like me), it's definitely a place you want to avoid. But that's not a biggie. The biggest problem is that it was very far from the next subway, thus the ad is quite misleading. Yes, as you soon you walk 750min to the subway station (Hatsudai Station), it will take only two minutes to get to Shinjuku. We booked the apartment because of it's apparent proximity to a subway station. It's challenging to walk to the station when you have a small child.
- Serik (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is cozy, clean, good location. shops, restaurants, everything nearby.
Jacob is a great host, suggested a lot of interesting places, was always in touch, I recommend it to everyone
- Rudolf (8/5): Excellent host -
- Lailani (10/5): Exceptional - Apartment was clean cozy and convinient.
Our host js very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay.
Thanks jacob.
- Siti (9/5): Superb - Very friendly and helpful host made us felt at home. Very close to the bus stop with regular buses to Shinjuku station..Nice neighbourhood with supermarket, excellent bakery and nice restaurants The apartment is on the 3rd floor with stairs. Will not be suitable for those with mobility issues
- Shannon (10/5): perfect! - it was in a quiet neighborhood. steep stairs to third floor.
- Prasetyo (10/5): it was amazing place to stay in tokyo, not far from shinjuku sta, family mart, quite and calm neighborhood, very clean & - cleanliness, tidy and all the facilities nothing
- Joel (10/5): Best host ever! - I would give an even better review if I could, but let me Tell you everything was on point and the Host was the Best I‘ve eher had 11/10 would absolutely recommend!
- Jonathan (10/5): Great apartment, fantastic hosts, easy and fun stay - would do it again! - Couldn't ask for nicer hosts and the apartment was really a great option for a small family as it was nicely equipped and had multiple bedding options depending on the size of your group. Hosts don't live on site but are available at any time if needed. Part of what is great about this property is that you can get a taste of two great things: 1, the apartment is in a neighborhood so you can feel like a local. But 2, it is so close to one of the main hotspots in Tokyo - Shinjuku - that you can feel central. Train station is close and bus and taxi options are easy if you don't want to walk it. Hosts were just amazing, and can answer any questions you might have about sights, places to eat, and anything else. Laundry in the unit was very helpful. I would happily stay here again.
