Guest Reviews
- sophie (3/5): Unrelaxing and scary - Comfy bed Construction was happening constantly and I didn’t feel welcome at the property, also floors were dirty and the room looked scabby
- Morgan (10/5): - Staff was super nice, food from Sam's restaurant was delicious and very kindly delivered to our room. Had a bit of a noise concern when we went to bed, but when I knocked on the door, the room occupant happily and kindly turned off the TV. Super thin walls, but its an old building and that's to be expected! Maybe bring ear plugs if you sleep lightly. The AC unit is loud, but works well.
- Ethan (7/5): -
- Lynda (7/5): - Family friend -getting married No pool no hottubs nor house keeping
- Geoff (5/5): Is a dive, if you know that going in then you’re fine. - Location Dirty
- Logan (9/5): Anytime I come to Drumheller, this is the place I will be staying. - The Indian restaurant attached is literally the best Indian food I've ever had. And the bar was nice and chill. Also, that bed was so comfortable, we slept like logs. Honestly, the only thing that was a little lacking was building maintenance. It appears to be an older building, so it makes sense that it was a little run down, but the service and ammenities more than make up the difference.

- David (7/5): If you are passing through Drumheller and need a stop-over like I did, this is perfect. - It is a low cost option that fulfilled my need. I was travelling across Canada by Motorcycle and due to the lateness of the season did not want to risk camping. Lower cost Motels was my preference and this one was adequate. Old and pretty dated but all functional. They have a very popular restaurant that serves delicious East Indian meals. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking as well. It was dated so if you are expecting something more modern then you will need to look elsewhere and pay the premium. There were kids running up and down the passageway having a good time and making quite a noise when I was ready for bed after a long day riding. Ear plugs helped and it was only 9.00pm.

- Ai (8/5): かなりよかった - 駐車場無料で、アメニティ等の必要なものはほぼ揃ってる ドライヤーがあればよかった
- Sonja Stu (5/5): - We booked this hotel because it had an attached restaurant but it didn't Open till 11 a.m...the same time as check out... so we had to eat elsewhere. Not convenient as we were on the road earlier.
Also.my partner was locked out of hotel at 9 am while loading car...he needed a key to reenter lobby. Not convenient for guests!
- Samay Singh (10/5): - Everything was great 👍, good staff, tried indian restaurant and bar downstairs .old look building but neat and clean 👌.
- Frederik (8/5): - Everything was good. Staff was very helpful. I was in room 6
- Louis (8/5): - The room was clean. Also very quiet.
- Irvin (8/5): The hotel was as good as could be expected - Bathroom and bed Tv did not work well

- Patou2211 (8/5): Great night - The rooms have been renovated. The bed is comfy. I was in room 4 upstairs. They helped me carry my luggage. It is a quiet place. There is AC and it was great as it is always 30 C in the summer. There is a great Indian restaurant downstairs Sam's Kitchen and a bar with live music on weekends. There is no view from the room. It looks over the roof.

- Juliet (8/5): The receptionist was very friendly and polite the food was excellent. - We find it reasonable for the price of a room There’s no available shampoo
- Pat (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ina (5/5): Passable -
- Patrick (8/5): loved it and hope to be back - no breakfast stairs hard for us older folks
- Leon (5/5): Part of a road trip - Had a bar and restaurant Very old and dated
- Les (6/5): Pleasant - Price Location
- Ben (8/5): Very good - Friendly service and quiet location. A comfortable and quaint hotel, but it does require some updating...
Easy updates like door hardware..
Tough updates like shower hardware.
Otherwise good value.
- Mündel-möhr (6/5): A perfect place for low Budget traveler and central location - Close and central to everything. Near Drumheller town center and the Museum. Free parking lot. AC was too cold couldnt control temperature. Couldnt Open window. Power went out in middle of the night. Also too many appliances plugged into one outlet . Could be improved.
- Darien (9/5): Superb -
- Carlos (5/5): Passable -
- Aleksandr (3/5): This hotel is in need of renovation. -
- Beddoe (1/5): Hotel nightmare - Food was ok Rooms were dirty and run down. Isn't worth the money. Overpriced for what it is. The bathroom was disgusting. Poor management
- J (1/5): I did not stay there - Nothing. I would like my money back. I arrived at the Hotel with my spouse and we found the conditions to be terrible. It is old and in poor condition. I could see no fire escape. the entrance way was dirty and wallpaper was peeling off the wall
- Jadd (3/5): Kind of place you need to check for bed bugs. Luckily there weren’t any, but I feel I had to check - Front desk lady was nice Everything else
- Marla (8/5): Very good -
- Cassandra (1/5): Its a hotel above a bar that serves east Indian food. Not family friendly. - The drunks that hung out in the hallway were nice to talk to. The pictures on the website were nice too bad they were pictures of the travel lodge across town hotel was a dump room was a dump, left after one night did not refund our money. complete crack shack
- Susan (5/5): Fine - Nothing to say Nothing
- Alexandre (8/5): good - quiet, good and inexpensive.
- Erick (8/5): Comfy, clean, basic but good value for the money paid. - Friendly Staff All is basic but very good value for the money paid
- Gonzalo (2/5): Very poor - The bathroom door wouldn’t close. The TV didn’t work either, and there was noise in the hallways.
- Wendy (3/5): Just pay a little extra and stay somewhere decent - The location The staff had poor customer service on check in. The bathroom was grimy and rusty, I didn’t want to step foot in the shower.
- Gerald (1/5): My worst experience since 2002. - The only things I liked was surprisingly decent bed considering the deplorable state of the building and service. The A/C was a nice on a 34C day.
The on site restaurant has good reviews but I did not eat there. I have travelled for well over 40 years and stayed in every type of accommodation. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much(for an aged building) but it was disgusting as follows:
- room was not ready upon 14:30 check in, waited 40 min
-lobby was filthy, the carpet in common areas is so dirty it is permanently black
- the room had barely been cleaned, fresh sheets, garbage emptied and new towels/toilet paper
- mud splattered on the door baseboards, a deep layer of dust on the other baseboards/sills and some shelves, dirty fridge
- hair on my sheets that obviously stuck in the dryer( they were clean)
- I kept my shoes on because the floor had a sticky, feel of grime to it
- the shower handles don't mix the temperature well, from ice cold to scalding hot
- the lone pubic hair stuck on the shower wall was an added bonus
- the lamp bulb was burned out but it was begrudgingly changed
I was afraid to leave my luggage on the shelves for fear of bed bugs because of the filthy conditions. None were present or evident on my luggage arriving home.
I asked for a late check out of only 15 min later since I was competing that morning. A STERN refusal. I asked for a printed receipt and was refused. The attendant told me I could get it online from Booking.com. A smile and a hint of hospitality would have slightly mellowed my perception of the staff and facilities....just slightly. They are running a business, for goodness sake. Take some pride in the building, rooms and smile at the patrons. I felt like an inconvenience.
This should have been a $25 room. A shelter would have been better and cleaner.
This review won't be received well but sincerely hope efforts are made to learn and improve from my experience so others may have a future positive experience. The potential to make this hotel into something better exists, with some ambition. I may even try to return next year with an apology of a free night stay to see if anything improved.
- Ina (8/5): Very good - Ensuite bathroom and everything an hotel room has The water for the shower took a time to get right
- Svitlana (3/5): Poor - Price Dear owners..
You take 100$ for room per night. Can you, please, clean? Hundreds of comments about hairs in the shower, dust everywhere, and leaking water in the bathroom
- Marlon (4/5): It was good for one night, but the place could use some work. - My sleep was decent and I had WiFi. And the price was right. The place was a dive. They clearly don't put more than they have to in maintaining the place. The building was old, the stairs were small, the hot and cold faucets in the shower were mixed, there was no ledge to put the soap and shampoo on, it is not a disability-friendly place, there was hair left in the shower that wasn't mine. At least my room smelled good and the stay was cheap. But I left unsure if the building is even up to code.
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (6/5): Decent for the price - Staff was very friendly and helpful, bed was clean and decently comfortable.
OK for 1 night. The shower might need a deeper clean, rest of the bathroom was OK, toilet clean.
- Allan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vladimir (7/5): Good -
- Robert (3/5): You get what you pay for and the price was ok - friendly staff This facility is showing its age and could definitely use an upgrade.
- Sharon (1/5): Bad -
- Kevin (7/5): Good -
- Zane (6/5): Pleasant - They don’t have a 24hr phone number. I locked myself out during checkout and no one was available.
- Marla (7/5): Good -
- Edie (8/5): Very good - The location was the reason I booked there. Walking distance to the Badlands Amphitheater. The room was small but clean. Free parking. There is a bar downstairs but it wasn't open when we were there. The Indian food restaurant smelled delicious. Check in was a breeze Couldn't open windows. The room was very hot unless the air conditioner was running. Toilet had issues, but as I only spent one night, I didn't complain.
- Anderson (8/5): Very good - Nice Cosy room. Ac worked well. Bed/bedding was very good. Bannister/handrails were dirty.
- Colton (6/5): It’s okay for the price. - Mehhhhhhh the price made it okay You could see into the room above door, and below. Shower was stuck on full scoarch or cold.
- Yullia (5/5): It's quite honest for its price, don't overexpect - Value for money Small and a bit smelly (smell from the restaurant downstairs)
- William (7/5): Good -
- Danna (7/5): Good -
- J (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable - good dinner too
- Kestra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (8/5): Perfect for the solo traveller and an excellent price. - The location and the restaurant are perfect for the solo traveller. The room was great. Definitely recommend if you are traveling solo. Nothing. The entire experience was excellent.
- Lindsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (4/5): Disappointing -
- Awasis (10/5): Very pleasant stay, the staff appread to be a family and we’re all very welcoming and friendly. I am a single mother tra - Location is a tad too far from the local downtown touristy area, but that’s only if you’re walking. Driving it’s no problem and I preferred now being right downtown in the middle of the chaos. Hotel has a ton of character, and the free parking was a bonus. Honestly, nothing! We all enjoyed our stay. If I had to choose, maybe I would say the room doors were a bit tricky and the shower taps - but that was only a problem for my kids
- Monique (6/5): Pleasant -
- Twila (10/5): Excellent hosts!! - The owner was so kind and offered us an upgrade!
Great value-comfy bed and ac for that price can’t be beat! The bathroom needs a thorough cleaning especially around the bottom of toilet.
- Steve (8/5): Decent price - Quiet neighborhood and cheap rate No place to put items in the shower stall
- Vitic (6/5): Pleasant -
- Larry (3/5): Place to rest for the night. Misleading though - Didn't know we had breakfast Didn't like the door having so many gaps. Didn't like the squishy bed. Didn't like the run down feel of the room. There was only one wall plug in that was over loaded fire hazard waiting to happen
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were great
- Charlize (5/5): sticky floors - how sticky the floors were and how much hair was covering the bathroom sink
- Ethan (7/5): Great little budget place! - The room was clean and tidy. The beds were made, and the AC was cool and kept the room comfortable. Some of the towels had holes from use, and the area was a little loud being above a restaurant, but overall not bad at all! The bathroom was clean and the amenities were a nice touch. I liked the detail with the toilet paper where they used the tap to give it a seal.
There was a mixup with the rooms. I booked one with two twin beds and accidentally got placed in one with a single queen instead, but when I told the staff, they were quick to fix the mistake and put me and my friend into the right room. The fact that the towels had holes made me worry about other things they may not be replacing or cutting corners with. The shower had some trouble with the water lines and kept switching from too hot right into too cold and did not stay consistent, but it was tolerable.
- Dejong (8/5): Very good -
- Smith (5/5): Passable - The bed was clean and comfortable, the staff and food at restaurant downstairs was pretty good at check in. On arrival in the room, it was smelling really clean BUT, Floors needed to be swept properly. the blinds needs repairs. The shower stall had soap scum and hair on the walls ( evidence that it hasn't been cleaned in a while). Toilet seat needed cleaning ... faucet pipe needs calibrating ... the hot water took a while to come thru and it kept jumping from too hot to too cold! There were clean towels but no washrags. The We had to unplug an appliance or 2 to get electrical sockets to charge our devices.
We checked out mins to 9am and the front desk closed so no one was available to talk to or check us out.
- Bethany (8/5): Very good -
- Sumaoang (5/5): The window blinds are broken and no curtain at all. The lavatory are not clean there’s a lot of hair everywhere like som - Sam’s generosity Not clean
- Gatjang (6/5): The price was OK but poor management - No breakfast, they didn't my bedsheets, they didn't clean the room. Clean the room and the bedsheets
- Susie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lynne (9/5): Superb - The staff were pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful.
Sam's Kitchen restaurant being part of the Hotel provided excellent Indian food.
The room was clean and equipped with mw and coffee machine.
The exterior looked poor but once inside the staff and clean room overlooked the first impression. Nothing
- Wayne (6/5): Pleasant -
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- Wayne (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nadya (3/5): Unimpressed - Having a room to stay. There was mold growing in the corner of the ceiling in the bathroom, with no ventilation fan. Staff came knocking on our door at 10:07am saying it’s check out, when my email stated 11am.
- Luke (7/5): Good -
- Louise (2/5): Never again! - I like there wasn’t other visitors. 1, it is not as close as it described to the attractions
2, the rooms are above restraint, it smells bad
3, the building needs a good maintenance, every inch of the wall and floor are cracking.
4, the bedding and towels smell like expired cooking oil.
5, the bath tub looks dirty.
6, I used the had a shower and used the washroom then slept in my car for the night. I’m therefore pleased with the parking. There was only one other car there in the parking lot.
- Candace (7/5): Good -
- Shelley (4/5): Good if your on an extreme budget. - Thr room and bed were nice and clean. Air-conditioner worked. The shower did not work properly, big hole in floor for drain, bathroom taps were wonky, windows did not open, stuffy and stinky. Blinds dirty, table was sticky. Handfull of channels on TV. Ok for the price.
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lionel (6/5): Decent stay for decent price. - Good price value Someone’s alarm at 5 am going off 3 times.
Then loud children at 6 am. Could be the owners ??
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kaitlynn (4/5): I would not recommend. - The staff were friendly and helpful upon check-in. The location was fine as Drumheller is small, but it is about a 5 minute drive to get to Downtown. The room did have an A/C unit as well, which in the summer was a very nice perk. Truthfully I didn’t like very much about this place. There was unfortunately a lot wrong with this hotel. The room was small - which was fine for me as I was staying alone, but it would’ve been crammed if there was another person. The bed was a double, and the box spring case had a dark red stain…. The cleanliness was my main issue. The room was not as clean as I feel a hotel room should be. The bathroom window sill was full of dead bugs, the bathroom sink taps were dirty/gunky, fungus gnats were flying out of the drain, and the blinds/over toilet shelves were dusty. Additionally the shower did not have a grate, the drain was just a hole in the floor. The bathroom also had a patch of black mold on the ceiling. The A/C was great to have, but it did make the room smell funky. It also had the bottoms worn off and it was a headache getting it started. Overall, it was a place to sleep for a couple of nights. But I will not be returning - for how was I was charged, I much rather would’ve spent an extra $20/night to feel more comfortable and for a clean stay.
- Wong (7/5): Good value for one night stay. - Value One electrical outlet for A/C and microwave - need to turnoff one appliance before turning on the other to avoid tripping a fuse.
- J-driver (7/5): Good - Great budget place to stay. Clean rooms and friendly staff
