- andre (10/5): Top, Top, Top! - Tolles Hotel.

- Rahel (9/5): We had a lovely stay and would totally come again. - Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Nice rooms, very comfortable bed, homey feeling. The layout of the house was interesting, with the labyrinth-like event hall in the cellar, beautiful architecture. Personally, I liked everything. My old mother was a bit uncomfortable on the stairs down from the 1st floor with the rooms to the ground floor, since there was no guard rail to hang on to.
- Eileen (8/5): Very good - The property owner was very friendly and professional. He cooks really well too. The station Raron has no slope for ease of moving luggage.
- Writer (4/5): Frustrating at the outset but saved by the beautiful, historical and poetic location & nice people - The hotel is very well-decorated downstairs and the rooms are functional. The single bed was small but extremely comfortable. Lighting can be dimmed or brightened with one switch and the shower is powerful. The breakfast was quite good but the range quite limited. The location --once you know whether to turn right or left outside the station --- is excellent being close to the old part of town and the two extraordinary churches as well as Rilke's burial place. The vista outside the train station is quite unwelcoming but people that I asked for directions (x 3) were friendly. Having travelled for ten hours to get to Raron, with my UK phone and EU adaptor not working on Swiss trains (there is no wifi except at stations and you need a special three pin adaptor) I found the hotel eventually (after a ten minutes walk from the station) then discovered that I could not get in. The doors were all locked. I had to walk back to the station to use the public wifi with little battery left to check messages. There were no emails or texts from the hotel owners. I then looked on the Booking.com site and called the number provided. The woman who answered asked my name and then said she was not at the hotel. That if I went back to the hotel and called her she would tell me how to get in. I said that was difficult as I was unable to access wifi and my battery was low. I walked to the hotel with my luggage again and saw my phone was dead. I had to ask a woman passing by (there were not many people around and no cafes within view) if she could help me. She kindly agreed to call the manager (as she knew her number) and was then given instructions where to find the key hidden outside and how to bring me inside to my room. I was and still am shocked at this arrangement and spoke to the manager the following morning. She said she had sent a message on Booking.com for guests that day to call her. I explained that for a solo traveller from the UK having to do this was costly. She agreed to reduce the cost of the night's stay by 15 Swiss francs to cover the telephone costs. I met other guests that evening -- three friends who had walked many kilometres in the nearby Alps and arrived ready to shower, & rest--- who experienced the same frustrating situation and were not happy. This all may be teething problems for a recently opened venue but first step is to admit there is a problem. Hence my detailed feedback.
- Charles (9/5): Wonderful stay, and I hope to come back with my wife soon! - Restaurant was great! It is a really cool renovated property. I could not figure out how to get the bedside lamp to turn on. I thought the bathroom was a bit dark.
- Robert (3/5): Poor - Clean 5-star price for a 1 star experience, which was stressful; the owner managers are inexperienced and are being misled by the designers of this on-going project. The rooms are minute, partly finished, the bathroom very small and badly designed. We had to walk to the shop to get some bathroom tissue. In the end we paid CHF120/night not CHF243. We feel sorry for them.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Terrific boutique hotel. Highly recommend. Spaces are well thought out (including an event space for 40 and charming garden), friendly staff, great breakfast. Will definitely return. Not a thing.
- Katrin (10/5): Thoughtful details: There was a little booklet with Rainer Maria Rilke's poems in my room. - The staff was extraordinaly friendly. I liked having breakfast in the garden. The cappuccino was barista-level. The room was a bit small.
- Kathleen (10/5): Service as an art form - The hosts have perfected every element of the experience. I really LOVED this place!
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional and unexpexted luxury place
- Linda (10/5): Most enjoyable experience - Lovely little hotel in a very quite area. Beautiful views all around. Staff very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Nothing to complain about at all
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful relaxed place where you really see the love to detail everywhere.
The owners are on site and take really good care of all customers.
- Sanna (8/5): Very good - A new hotel which is still being finished. The room was newly renovated with basic but smart comfort. A few things like reading lights and glasses for water were missing…no TV for those who like that (but I guess most of us have our own screens). It was lovely and quiet and the breakfast was very good.
- Claudio (8/5): Very good -
