- Frick (10/5): Great hotel to stay at in Old Town Hanoi! no complaints! - My friends and I stayed at the Hotel du Lac in Old Town Hanoi 3 times with trips around Northern Vietnam interspersed. I knew this hotel and staff were something special when we first arrived, catering to our every need. They were very welcoming and always happy, and quite professional! My roommate runs hot, and me, not so much, so I asked for the bedding to accommodate my needs and then each time I returned, the bed was made up to my first request! I felt very special. Every one of the staff was so friendly and helpful, Chloe helping us go to and from the hotel, where to go, and so much more, Victor for remembering my custom drink, and his happy banter. Trainee Einstein let me name him! The location of the hotel was great, as it was easy to walk to many restaurants, shops, the lake and the puppet theatre, and I felt very safe venturing out on my own. Their breakfasts were the best I had on my trip! They had a nice variety, and the coffee was great. I will always remember my stay at Hotel du Lac and especially the staff. Nothing!

- Kunie (9/5): おもてなしが嬉しいホテル - スタッフさんが皆さん英語が堪能で日本人が聞き取りやすい英語を話してくれました。 丁寧な接客、素敵な笑顔で対応してくれました。 夜遅くのチェックアウトでしたが、お見送りまでしてくれました。 廊下の話し声が丸聞こえです。 逆に私たちの声も廊下に丸聞こえなんでしょう。 たまたま隣の部屋の方は朝から夜まで出かけることが多い方だったので、気にはならなかったけど、声が大きくてお話し好きの方が泊まっていたら気になるかもしれません。

- Claus (10/5): Wonderful stay - I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Du Lac in Hanoi. From the very first moment, everyone made me feel incredibly welcome and cared for. The staff were exceptionally friendly, warm, and genuine — whether at the reception, in the restaurant, on the rooftop terrace, or even the trainees (Anh, is i remember), every single person was kind, professional, and attentive. The hotel was spotless at all times, and the level of hospitality and service truly exceeded my expectations. Everyone went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. It honestly could not have been better. A big thank you to the entire team for such an amazing experience. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi!

Arranged airport transfers through the hotel all went smoothly. - Sarah (10/5): Excellent hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter - Everything! Location is great. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and immaculately clean. The best part of the hotel is the staff. Extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. Always nice to walk back into the lobby for a warm welcome and chat. Breakfast was also excellent. So much choice- Asian and European. Roof bar is fab too. Cocktails very innovative and staff great. Nothing at all!

Petit déjeuner exceptionnel, avec accès au buffet et aussi à la carte. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié de pouvoir laisser nos bagages à l'hôtel pendant la croisière à la baie d'Halong de 3 jours.

I felt hemmed in, when visiting one of the sister hotels to use pool facilities I would choose that one, although out of my price range. We managed to change rooms for the last couple of nights at no extra cost with windows, however this was at the back of the hotel and a neighbour had 2 barking dogs. Hence my rating of 80% The barking dogs of neighbour apartment

Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, das Zimmer wie erwartet, Frühstück mit grosser Auswahl und die Lage zum Erkunden von Hanoi perfekt. Die Nächte waren sehr ruhig, das Bett bequem, Wifi schnell. Wir haben auch den Fast Track Service am Flughafen und einen Transfer über das Hotel gebucht. Super Service. Wie auch in anderen Unterkünften in Vietnam, wird auf Kreditkartenzahlung eine Gebühr erhoben (meist zw. 3-5%). Wir haben Geld abgehoben und Cash bezahlt.
- Morse (10/5): Best kept secret in the Old Quarter. - I had a wonderful stay at Hôtel du Lac in Hanoi. The location is perfect—close to everything in the Old Quarter, yet still comfortable and relaxing. The rooms were clean and beautifully designed, and the staff was exceptionally warm, attentive, and professional. From check-in to departure, everything felt smooth and welcoming. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi. And Lucy is the the best! Having to leave this wonderful hotel.

Even the all-female breakfast staff is also active and knowledgeable, and the food is fresh and varied, including western options. They're working on some technical issues. - Alice (10/5): Great Stay at Hotel du LAC - Loved the location, just around the corner from Hoan Kiem Lake and the business of the Old Quarter. Lots of great restaurants and cafes within just a few streets of the hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and we're always happy to help with whatever we needed.

- Ferda (6/5): Geen fijne kamer om eens even te chillen. - Ontbijt was overvloedig, goed verzorgd en lekker. Personeel was heel attent, vriendelijk en zorgzaam. Goed bed. Locatie ok, dicht bij bezienswaardigheden. We hadden een premium kamer geboekt die redelijk prijzig was voor Vietnam. De kamer viel enorm tegen qua ruimte, licht, badkamer, gezelligheid. De badkamer oogde eerder sjofel. Het was duidelijk dat op de plaats van de douche eerst een bad stond. De kraan was niet vervangen zodat die vervelend een heel stuk uit stak. Bovendien was de verdere afwerking van bad naar douche slordig gedaan met een andere kleur tegels en slordig gevulde gaten. Dan stond er midden in de kamer een lichtkoker van de benedenverdieping tot boven die enorm veel plaats innam en waarvan ik de functie nog niet door heb: ipv licht binnen te brengen ontnam hij het licht van de ramen en nam bovendien heel veel plaats in. Geen fijne kamer!
