The bungalows were well designed, providing amazing views of nature. The local food was excellent. It was a perfect immersion in the Satna Maria area. A two-night stay was too short- I wish we had booked for at least three nights!

Le cabanon très propre et très agréable à vivre. Les bruits de la nuit. L éloignement des sites de rando, il me fallait toujours une heure et demi de route.

Also that it is not a crowded place, as there are only 9 houses and the best restaurant ever. The food was so delicious and plenty. And Yocky, her Family and the Staff were very nice, helpful and friendly... as always... Thank you and greetings from Zurich :) We liked everything. A new thing was the fridge in our cottage, that we especially appreciated having lots of chocolates :)

- Juliette (10/5): Séjour parfait. - Notre coup de cœur durant notre séjour au Costa Rica. Nous n’y étions que pour une nuit et avons regretté de ne pas y rester plus longtemps. Le cottage est magnifique, les grandes fenêtres vitrées offrent une magnifique vue. Le personnel est tout aussi parfait, accueillant et bienveillant. Ils nous on beaucoup aidé et donné des conseils sur les choses à faire aux alentours. Nous recommandons vivement. Très bon restaurant avec des plats typiques.

- Peggy (10/5): WAAAAAAUUUUUWWWWW - Alles !!! Wat een fantastisch verblijf was dit !!! De rust van de natuur, een huisje 100% in orde was, super schoon, heel ruim, met een fantastisch buitendek. En dan het personeel, één voor één fantastische mensen, maar vooral de eigenaresse, wat een super lief en aangenaam persoon om te leren kennen. En het eten was zo ontzettend heerlijk, wat hebben we genoten van ons verblijf ! Kan niet wachten om hier naar terug te mogen gaan. Helemaal niets

There is just not much to do in the Area and the Hotel itself doesn’t have a public space except the Restaurant. They offered us nice vegan food and helped us with our planing. I think the surrounding could use a Little Update and also the Little cottages itself are very Basic and not for relaxing or spending much time there.

Les repas pris au restaurant étaient copieux et excellents. Attention il y a peu de choix pour dîner/déjeuner ailleurs dans le coin (mais le restaurant vaut le coup). La piste d'accès à l'hébergement et au parc paraît interminable...

Everything super clean and we really enjoyed our stay a lot. Surrounded by nature and we saw several birds just by sitting on the porch. Only downsides are that the fan wasn’t very powerful and that WiFi is only available at reception/restaurant area, not in the bungalows. Otherwise, 10/10

Es ist etwas abgelegen und in der Nähe hat es nicht so viele Restaurants. Aber dafür kann man im Hotel sehr lecker essen.

Super freundliche und hilfsbereite Gasgeberin mit ebenso freundlichem Personal. Leckeres Essen. Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Eine der besten Unterkünfte unserer Reise (wenn man das Leben in der Natur mag) Die Straße zum Haus hat viele große Schlaglöcher. Kann die Unterkunft nichts zu.

- Léna (10/5): Excellent séjour dans ce lodge - Super séjour dans ce lodge. Déjà de par sa localisation et par sa nature. Immense terrain avec des belles cabanes qui font offices de chambre. Salle de bain spacieuse, propre et avec un super débit. Le personnel y est très chaleureux et l’espace restaurant très agréable. Les petits-déjeuners et dîners que nous y avons prit sont excellents ! Les hôtes sont supers et vous donnerons pleins de conseils sur quoi faire dans la région et sur le parc et son accès ! Ils nous ont d’ailleurs conseillés de supers thermes non loin, nous avons adorés ! En clair, foncez tout était parfait ! Merci à nos hôtes ! Rien du tout

- Klaus (10/5): - Die Restauration war sehr gut. Yuky die Vermieterin ist sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Die ganze Anlage ist schön und gepflegt. Das Haus war für unsere Verhältnisse gut. Etwas improvisiert aber zweckmässig. Wir sind ca. Mitte Januar dort gewesen und es hat vorwiegend geregnet. Allerdings ist man mit dem Auto innert Kürze an einem sonnigen Ort.

- Hannah (9/5): Great ambiance, remote location - I love love love the location. You are fully immersed in the jungle - sights, sounds, and smells. You can see and hear a lot of tropical birds around the place. The food is also fantastic. You can also go horseback riding for a reasonable rate. It is difficult to get to, (which is also the appeal) so you need a good car to get through the rough dirt roads. Note, this is not too close to many of the tourist attractions (1hr drive to parque rincon de la bikes entrance)

- John (10/5): A lovely escape - Jocky and her mum were brilliant, so helpful and friendly. The gardens were lovely as was the food in the restaurant. Being in such a peaceful location was a great experience. The road to the lodge is not good which meant that once we had made it we did not want to drive anywhere else, so you end up having all meals at the lodge as there is nowhere else within walking distance.

- Leanne (9/5): Top verblijf! - Heerlijk ontbijt en diner. Fantastische gastvrouw! Gaf ons goede tips en ook een inkijkje in het dagelijks leven in Costa Rica. In en rondom het verblijf wildlife, veel toekans en apen gezien. Verblijf met twee jarige was ook top! Net en schoon huisje, fijn bed. Enige is dat de weg ernaartoe zeer matig is. 7km op een weg met putten en kuilen, 4x4 zeer aan te bevelen. Iets waar zij overigens niets aan kunnen doen, maar zorgt er wel voor dat je veel tijd kwijt bent om naar Rincon de la Vieja te gaan.

- Kannantha (9/5): Host is amazing, cabin is lovely, plants and surroundings take you to a different world - Cozy cabin, great surrounding and amazing restaurant About 7 kilometers you have to drive in bad, gravel road, takes all the energy away driving back and forth (especially if you have to visit any other places like thermales or hiking parks)

- Manfred (10/5): Nicht jeder Tourist hat Zeit hierher zukommen. Wer sie hat kann es geniessen. - Das Restaurant ist sehr gut. Alle Beschäftigten sind sehr freundlich. Man ist mitten in der Natur. Man erhält auch jede Menge Tips was man um die Farm so tun kann. Es ist halt so das man für alle in dieser Gegend liegenden Straßen, besser gesagt Wege, viel Zeit benötigt. Zudem benötigt man einen Wagen der höher legt und am besten über Allrad verfügt. Das ist halt so und man dies unter nicht gefallen eigentlich nicht einordnen. Das ist halt ein kleines Abenteuer.
- ANGELO (8/5): - L'accueil était parfait la propriétaire est très sympathique et donne des conseils pour la visite du parc., Le restaurant est bien mais assez cher, un peu comme partout dans le pays. Il se trouve dans un environnement au cœur de la nature à ube heure du Rincón de la Vieja mais attention ce chemin est 100% tout terrain réel, pour véhicules tous terrains uniquement. Si vous n'avez ce genre de véhicule il faut faire le tour en 1h45 environ et GPS obligatoire. Il faudrait sans doute mettre une moustiquaire autour du lit et donner des prises anti insectes , il y a des bruits d'animaux, aboiements de chiens, singe hurleurs mais cela fait partie du pays.

Food is delicious and comes in generous portions and hosts are the best! Thank you for a great stay! Mmm... We really liked the remoteness, but if you're the kind that need to be more connected - that's not for you. Check arrival times in advance so you won't be surprised.

La comida del restaurte, excelente Instalación y mobiliario práctico aunque algunas cristaleras no funcionaban muy bien. Está lejos del parque nacional del Rincón de la vieja. A pesar de que la distancia en km que aparece en Booking es poca, no es real, puesto que la distancia en carretera es mucho mayor.

- Maria (10/5): Lovely experience - The property is rustic style and very well kept, clean and comfortable beds, the cabin was beautifully arranged, gorgeous forest, a real sense of Puerto Rico rich farm land. Lovely hosts! They have a restaurant, and they serve delicious fresh prepared meals, just for you, great after long touring. The access road in a rain season is tricky but once you get use to them, just drive like a local :)
- Stephan (9/5): Grossartige Lodge in traumhafter Umgebung - Sehr grosse Cabana mit allem was es braucht. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr gutes Essen und ein reichhaltiges Frühstück das Energie für einen ganzen Tag auf dem Bike hatte. Yocki spricht sehr gut Englisch. Alles war perfekt.

- Thomas (9/5): Naturnahes Highlight am Rande des Nationalparks - Für echte Naturliebhaber sicherlich ein Highlight. Die Bungalows sind sehr naturnah ausgerüstet und deshalb fühlt man sich wie in einer Hütte am Rande des Waldes. Die Freundlichkeit ist herausragend und das Essen empfehlenswert. Im großen Garten können viele Vögel in großer Ruhe beobachtet werden. Die Anfahrt zu den Highlights des Nationalparks dauert seine Zeit. Der direkte Weg (Route 918) ist nur echten Allradfahrzeugen zuzumuten. Alle anderen fahren besser den südlichen Umweg über die überwiegend asphaltierten Straßen. Vom Zeitaufwand gibt es keinen Unterschied. Nicht negativ, aber wer eine 100 % insektenfreie Umgebung wünscht ist hier falsch. Für die Anreise ist ein wenig Bodenfreiheit hilfreich, ein 4x4 ist jedoch nicht erforderlich.

- Yann (10/5): Un petit bout de paradis dans la nature Costaricaine. On a adoré❤️ - C'est un superbe lodge au cœur de la forêt, au pied du volcan. Des bungalows en bois confortable au milieu de la végétation. Une hôte d'une très grande gentillesse. Un super petit déjeuner et des repas simples mais très bon. On s'y sent comme à la maison 👍 Tout est parfait

- Alexandra (9/5): - We loved this place. It is magical and was my favorite of all the places we stayed in Costa Rica. The staff went out of their way to help us. The food was absolutely delicious. The setting is amazing. We saw toucans and monkeys in the garden. We enjoyed the horse ride. Be aware that it is over an hours drive to Rincon de Vieja national park which I hadn't appreciated before hand.
- Daniel (9/5): - The hostess and staff were absolutely fantastic! They did everything and more to make sure we had the best experience that we could have had. We (mom, dad, 8 and 10yo boys) arrived without much of itinerary, and they helped fill that sizable gap. They lined up: milking cows (at the Lodge), horseback riding, mud spa and thermal spas. It's easy to find the large excursion outfits that cater to foreign tourists, but the staff was able to point us to smaller, more local focused places when that was what was desired. We had most of our meals there for the 3 days we stayed and even our picky 10yo always left the table satisfied. The family that runs the place have created a truly magical property - the flora and fauna are stunning. Our main priority was to decompress from life and relax - this was THE place for that! The road getting there is a bit rough. Don't be discouraged. The Lodge is worth the drive!

- Daniël (10/5): Incredible garden with an amazing wildlife experience from the cabins. - The incredible garden with more then 42 different birds counted in one hour makes it worth while. Waking up looking out on Toucans through the beautiful big windows of the cabin. The location is a little bit far from the entrance of the park but the site itself and the journey is already an adventure.

A bit of a mosquito paradise outside, but this was because of the season and the beautiful nature in front of the door.
- Jelle (9/5): Rust, veel groen en mooie huisjes - Lekker rustig. Veel groen met mooie planten. Veel vogels en soms een brulaap. Er is een kleine hike door de "achtertuin" dat je langs een een riviertje brengt en door weilanden met koeien en paarden. Fatsoenlijke prijsen voor goed eten. De host is zeer vriendelijk. De huisjes zijn ruim genoeg voor ons 5-en. Apartedouche met wc. Wij kwamen aan na de incheck tijd , maar dat was geen probleem. Alle activiteiten bevinden zich 45m tot een uur van de accomodatie. Geen massa toerisme hier dat er prettig is om even een paar dagen te ontspannen. De matrassen van de stapelbedden waren prima , maar die van het 2 persoonsbed beter.

La comida era casera y riquísima! En la mañana nos dejaron ir a visitar la granja y a los niños ordeñar las vacas , fue toda una experiencia! Nada

- Veerle (8/5): Back to basic in een mooie tuin - De houten hutjes liggen in een heel mooie tuin. Het is echt wel back to basic dus de grote sprinkhanen in ons huisje en de beperkte lichten en stopcontacten moesten we erbij nemen. In het huisje heb je geen 4G of wifi, wat lastig is als je nog iets wil plannen. In het restaurant was er wel wifi. Hetgeen alles goedmaakt is de enorme glimlach en de behulpzaamheid van de eigenaars. Ze zijn ongelofelijk! Ze wezen ons de weg naar een dichtbijgelegen waterval, heel mooi! Hou rekening met de slechte staat van de weg ernaartoe.

- Mathias (10/5): - Eine absolut außergewöhnliche Unterkunft! Die Gastgeberinnen sind warmherzig und hilfsbereit. Die Cabins sind ursprünglich, da alles mit Holz verarbeitet ist, und gut ausgestattet. Von der Dusche schaut man direkt in den Regenwald. Das Essen ist hervorragend, die Omelettes ein Gedicht.
- Carla (10/5): - Este lugar es una joya escondida. Nos hubiese encantado quedarnos más tiempo. Si buscas naturaleza, aventura y comodidad este es el lugar. Super amables, comida rica, buenas camas, super limpio, mucha fauna y flora por todos lados. Unos kms de ripio para el que no le gusta, nada del otro mundo, un par de agujeros, se va más despacio y listo.

- CarinaH (10/5): Wonderful place within the forest - The lodge was very comfortable, in a wonderful location. There was an abundance of wildlife, mostly birds and monkeys within the grounds. The design of the lodge meant we felt as if we were out there with the wildlife! Lots of large windows, some with just mosquito nets & shutters. This meant we could see the creatures right outside our lodge and hear the dawn & dusk choruses. The staff were so friendly & helpful. The food in the on-site restaurant was great. The lodge had everything we needed, however, we took & used a mosquito net. It was great value for money. Nothing, it was superb.
