Guest Reviews
- Christine (8/5): Delightful 😊 - Very relaxing, meeting the animals was a real highlight. Great host and witness a beautiful sunset after a short walk.
- Keith (9/5): A unique experience - This is a most intriguing venue. The interaction with the rescue animals is a unique experience.
The self contained suite is very comfortable and well stocked. The venue is a bracing walk into Gisborne with its shopping potential and cafes.
Lynne is a champion who is devoting her life to creating a safe haven for the animals she rescues. Nothing to criticise, it is what it is: a farm environment that provides fresh air and decent views
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yong (10/5): We definitely want to have a second visit! - My partner and I (along with our four-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie, Didi) really enjoyed this stay! The entire property is very large, with many places to explore and lots of friendly free-range animals. The room isn't particularly big (as described), but it has everything we need. Lynne is very thoughtful and courteous, always doing meaningful things. We hope we have the chance to come back here (hopefully with better weather next time). N/A
- Ellis (10/5): Farm Stay - The Best! - Peaceful. Fresh air. Greenery. We totally enjoyed our stay at the farm. It was country heaven. It's exactly like the photos. Better than staying in a hotel/ motel. Slept soundly on the comfy bed. Lynn was so lovely. The animals were wonderful. Monty, our dog, had the experience of his life. Surprise bonus - food/drinks in the fridge and cupboards, wine, snacks. Extras like that make the stay more special. Can't get better than that. Thank you for making our trip great. Absolutely NO dislikes! NO complaints at all!
- Grace (10/5): Lynne made our stay one of the most memorable trips we've ever had! Beautiful sanctuary and animals. - Lynne is an amazing host and the sanctuary is very peaceful with many animals to meet. Great location close to the town centre, magical sunset and feed tour, and plenty to keep you occupied at the BnB. Nothing! Everything was incredible and we will recommend the sanctuary and BnB to all our friends and family.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): Lovely experience, we would go back - Very generous provision of food, well-stocked pantry,
Great host and interesting setting with many rescued animals. Access to the rooms a little awkward, walking through a paddock without lighting to get to the unit
- Susan (10/5): A lovely, peaceful place to stay with a great host and I will definitely be back - I had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable. Beautiful views from the property. Peaceful location. The host Lynne is fantastic. Lynne is generous with her time, showing guests around the property, introducing you to all the amazing animals, answering all your questions. The animals are rescues and all are cared for with great love.
- Kerryn (9/5): Enjoyed exploring the area. Interacting with the animals. Very cosy and comfortable. Able to take our little dog with us - Lovely peaceful area with great views & close to town.
- Charleen (10/5): The best weekend getaway - We recently spend a weekend at Galahad's Sanctuary, and we simply cannot express how wonderful our experience was. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Lynne, who exudes warmth and passion for animals, making the atmosphere even more inviting than showed in the photos.
Lynne's attention to detail truly made our stay exceptional. The cozy ambiance was complemented by thoughtful touches throughout the accommodation. There were even plenty of vegan snacks, food and drinks available.
The real highlight of our stay was the guided tour of the farm. Lynne's genuine love for animals shone through as she introduced us to the adorable residents.
We wholeheartedly recommend staying at Galahad's Sanctuary to anyone seeking a cozy retreat with so much warmth and genuine hospitality.
Thank you for creating such a magical experience. We can't wait to visit again!
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Noel (10/5): Awesome - Awesome value and lovely staff The weather
- Geoff (10/5): Wonderful relaxing stay. - The host Lynne is a lovely person, very friendly and helpful. What a beautiful property, the room was very inviting with a bright and warm feeling with everything you need.
- Jenny (10/5): Beautiful stay and animals! Coming back again! - Loved our stay so so much. The room had everything we needed and more. Lynne even stocked the kitchen with vegan meals and snacks that were really yummy. It really inspired us to integrate more plant based ingredients and meals into our every day life.
The best part was meeting all the animals and getting to hear their stories. Lynne was so kind and flexible with making time for us to meet and feed the animals. Lynne has created a truly beautiful place and we felt very fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay in this little oasis. (not really a negative) We visited probably during the coldest, wettest, and windiest time of the year (June) so we didn’t get the chance to spend as much time outdoors as we would have liked. We actually didn’t mind much because the room itself is so well insulated and warm. It only means we’ll be coming back again when the weather is warmer ◡̈
- Cirila (10/5): A 5-star room in the middle of a paddock filled w/ rescued animals. Perfect for nature lovers. - A 5-star room in the middle of a paddock filled with rescued animals. The host Lynne’s love for them is evident. We enjoyed the tour she gave us, and we took this opportunity to feed the camels. What an experience!
You sense Lynne’s generosity in those little things found in the room. The kitchen cupboard is well-stocked with good breakfast and snack choices. Our favourites were the vegan chocolate bars and real ground coffee. Of course, there’s also a "real" coffee machine, too.
A great choice for nature and animals lovers, and for those who’d like a quiet and romantic weekend, or a sumptuous rest from the busy city life.
One small suggestion: Please provide a rubbish bin for compostable items.
Highly recommended and would love to be back again one day!
Thanks and kind regards,
L & H Less is more. For example, less number of pillows would make the room look less crowded. But this is just us who want more space to spread our ourselves and our belongings. :-)
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was great, very clean, fully equipped kitchen and beautiful comfy 4 poster bed
- Jasdeep (10/5): Replenish your soul - A cozy space with a relaxed vibe. We loved that the heater was on when we arrived, it was clean and our host showed us around. There was a lot supplied including snacks, drinks, wine, so many varieties of tea, a coffee machine with real coffee, filtered water...and that was just in the kitchen! The sounds of nature, the gorgeous views and meeting some of the animals had us feeling very relaxed.
- Eric (9/5): Superb - The view was spectacular, the location of the BnB was really easy to find.
- Bronwyn (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the peace and quiet.
The host Lynn was very accommodating as we were delayed a day.
