• Gingemgu (7/5): Well decorated, good air con, a bit smaller then expected - Close to attractions, arrived by train and had a 10minute but to the apartment, room well decorated and well stocked Room was small, tricky going up stairs with suitcases as they are narrow and it’a quite loud on a night time- can hear people in the rooms above and people going up/ down stairs. Although they are described as apartments it’s actually smaller then most hotel rooms- not sure where your expected to cook as there are no surfaces to cook on.

Room was very clean, nicely decorated and cozy. Host was very responsive and even called in advance to make sure we checked-in online to not miss the room. It's supposed to be a one-room apartment but it was actually more like a small hotel room with bathroom included. Good if you travel alone or someone very close, with backpack/small trolley, otherwise not ideal. Also no iron available.

• Matthew (6/5): - The perfect location, decent stay, and that’s about it. Unfortunately there were too many issues for me to give more than 3 stars. Biggest of which being, the thermostat was not adjustable. After 3 days of back and forth, they sent someone to try to fix. Bless his heart, wasn’t his fault, but the whole system was capped at an uncomfortably high temperature, so we were hot our entire trip. They also sent him with a fan that had the wrong size base, so we had to settle for a fan head that we propped up on a chair. Additionally, outside the window is a dirty trashy alley, so plenty of bugs came in throughout our stay even with the window closed. It does the job for the price, and the location can’t be beat, but don’t have high expectations.

• Benjamin (4/5): - The property is relatively close to the centre of Florence, but is in quite a busy street which you can hear throughout the night. Check in was easy, all of the instructions are provided which are clear and concise. However, there is no manual in the rooms which would have helped for example for the use of the air con. The air con did not work sufficiently, in fact it might as well have not been there at all. The room was so unbearably hot, that we found it very difficult to sleep at night. We couldn’t open the windows as the noise outside was too loud. In addition to the warmth of the room, the bed was also extremely uncomfortable, and the mattress appears to be of a poor quality as it dipped in the middle. This made for 2 sleepless nights which were very uncomfortable. There is no lift available, and we were put on the third floor which meant carrying our suitcase and 2 bags up several flights of stairs. This information is provided before booking, so be aware of this if you are planning to arrive with luggage. There is no luggage storage, we were allowed to leave our luggage in the room before check in. When we received the check in information, it stated check out to be at 10am. However, when booking, check out was given as 12pm which was the reason we booked the property initially. After consulting with Mamo Florence, they extended our check out to 11am free of charge, but this did mean we were at the train station 1 hour before our train departed.
• Sagie (8/5): Very good - Amazing location, well designed room, great communication with the hosts. Both the AC and the WiFi were weak but functional. The price for the central location is the constant noise from the street.

Room layout also ideal; basic kitchenette, large mirror, stools and bistro table for coffee and make up application. Tough initially to get a hold of property but once we did communication was great.

• Peter (7/5): Great location, acces to everywhere pretty straightforward. But roomsare not equivalent - Terrific location. In the heart of Florence, easy access to city. Room was tighter than expected. Only real complaint that I have is the size of the room. These are advertised as Studio Apartments. As always, getting a very accurate idea from the pictures shown is difficult at best. We were 2 couples. 1 room met that description. Ours did not. A bed, small fridge, 1 shelf and 6 hangers. Literally no where to put your stuff. Had to keep bags on the floor and work out of them. Kitchen was a small shelf with electric kettle. Our friends room was a little bigger with an actual sink and shelves for stuff. Not a huge difference, but do not consider the 2 equivalent. I believe these should be offered as different types of rooms to be more honest.

Wasn’t an issue for us, but a narrow and curving staircase that may present problems if you need to get bigger stuff upstairs.

It’s extremely small and for people who like to have breakfast or tea time is somewhat complicated. Space in the kitchen section is way too small. During the weekends is loud. So use your ear plugs.

• Guadalupe (10/5): Was enjoyable and convenient, despite the cozy room size, thanks to its excellent location and hosts - I loved everything about Mamo Pop Tower, from the location to the instructions on how to find the place and how to access it. It was super easy to get the keys. There are a lot of places to eat and drink nearby, as well as convenience stores and a laundromat with several washing and drying machines. It is very close to iconic places, and everything is within walking distance. The train station and main cathedral were just a few minutes away. The AC worked perfectly, and you have everything you need to cook your own meals and wash your dishes. The hosts were great, communicative, and accommodating, as we needed to check in early and check out late, even though we ended up leaving before. There are stairs to get to the top rooms, not for people with dissabilities. No elevator available. I will definitely come back to Pop Tower. Even though it is a very well-equipped room, the space is too small to maneuver comfortably when cooking. You have to store your luggage under the bed, and there is limited space to hang clothes.

Our place was on the top floor and there's no elevator. I had to lug up four huge suitcases in this super narrow hallway. Make sure you know what floor your unit is on before you book. The place itself was tiny, like, really small. It's okay for one person, but that's about it. And guess what? No AC during our stay in May. We had to keep the windows open, which was a major pain. First, there were a ton of mosquitoes. Second, the description said it overlooked a quiet street, but that's not true. There are bars and restaurants nearby, and the young partiers get really rowdy.

• German (9/5): Nice place for reasonable price - Nice location. Good staff, they rapidly answered the call to help us to get the codes upon arrival. They speak great english. Small but pretty comfy room: lots of towels, tidy bedsheets, nice decoration. Great comfortable mattress. Nice shower: it does not leak, it has no mold, toilettress are great also. All appliances worked well. I especially liked the light in the room. The apartment (number 8) is on the 5th floor, access only by stairs, which is pretty narrow. I felt like in Amsterdam. I won't be able to get to the apartment without internet access, because there is no reception and only self-check-in available, so you have to be able to read messages from the property online to get all the codes. It was impossible to lock the toilet door.
• Ewa (5/5): Apartment this is NOT. Check in horrendous. Not set up to accept last minute bookings - Location was fantastic, and the room was refurbished in a modern fun way. I was looking for a last minute apartment - apartment because I had an injury so I knew I will want to spend there some time to chill and read a book. Well, the apartment it was not! Not even a studio. The room was tiniest, with barely any space to even walk around the bed. There is nowhere to sit other than a bed, or not even, as the shelf above is so low that you couldn’t even sit upright, and the stool in the corner doesn’t qualify as a fair lounging space - it maybe could have been used to sit to put your shoes on, had I not had to use it to keep my clothes on, as there were no drawers or anything. A few hangers only. As for kitchen unit - there is none. There was a single electric plate hidden under the bed, something that you would maybe take for a camping holiday, but unless you cooked on the bathroom cabinet, I’m not sure where they imagine you would set it up. On that note - some pulled out drawers could be set up under the bed, but I think they just expect you to live off your luggage. So it wasn’t the comfortable space I was after. As for the check in - I had booked the accommodation from the bus. I completely missed that they messaged me on the app asking for checking in online - I never received an email with those instructions. So I couldn’t get in. Tried calling the number, but it’s only open in the morning. Called booking.com and they said they are sending me info asap. 20 min later still nothing. I call booking.com again and they say I need to check in online first. That app crashes with every new page - and there are a few!!! And after I manage (the whole ordeal takes me 2h, when I’m hurt, need a loo, it’s dark outside, and Florence barely gets 3G in places - some other tenants gave me their wi fi to use to complete check in - what if I didn’t have a roaming to call booking.com in the first place???

The room was very comfortable and close to all the attractions. We loved that it was fully equipped with all the neccessities and more.

Very clean and big room. Good bathroom. We didn’t cook, but there were pots/pans/utensils available, and a full under counter sized fridge. The mattress was so uncomfortable. This would easily have been a 10 star review except we both found it very hard to sleep woke up with severe back ache. The code we were sent in the email didn’t work for the front door, but they answered the phone straight away and gave us a new code, so that was fine.

Check in process, this was the only accommodation out of 11 on our trip that requested personal documents and a signed contract be completed and sent to them online before our arrival. We let them know we were not comfortable with this and said we would find another accommodation if we could not make other arrangements. They came back and said they would make arrangements for someone to meet us at the apartment upon check in to complete the paperwork. Then a couple days before our arrival in Florence we received a message saying that if we didn't complete the online check in, we would not be able to stay at their apartment. When we replied telling them we had made prior arrangements for someone to meet us at the apartment, we got no response. At this point we were not sure if we would be able to get a full refund for our 6 nights accommodation, so we unhappily and reluctantly complete the online check in. The air conditioning unit was not able to cool the room down enough for a comfortable sleep, so our first night we decided to open the window to try and help cool the room down and we woke up in the morning covered in mosquito bites. Needless to say we never opened the window again and spent days trying to get rid of all the mosquitoes. Don't understand why there are no screens on the windows if the mosquitos are that bad...

I would have given it a 9/10 if the air conditioning had worked. It was 35°C in Florence, the heat wasn't unbearable, but I expected what I had paid for - not just a noisy fan. I contacted them at 5 pm after I checked in, and they temporarily fixed it only the next morning. However, later that day, we switched off the electricity before going out, and upon switching it back on, the air conditioning stopped working again. Overall, I am not so satisfied with the services and the communication with the owner.
• Adam (8/5): Good location but felt a bit cramped - The apartments are in a great location and loved the funky styling which was needed with the lack of any view from the window (our room faced what looked like a launderette). The bathroom was nice and modern and good to have a little kitchenette if you wanted to make a simple meal instead of eating out. Access to the property was also easy and secure. The bed was a bit too small for me and the wife and the mattress was also very hard. The pillows weren't very comfortable either and had no extra ones available in the room. A table and seating were provided but a bit small and not comfortable when using to have a meal. The WiFi signal wasn't the strongest and couldn't use the one provided but found an alternative (ending 5g) which worked using the same password.

• Tonje (9/5): Great stay and great value for money. Would definitely come again! - Very central, great room and bathroom (dont let the crazy colour scheme scare you off!). The bed could have been softer, but I always find the beds in Italy too hard ;-)

• Georgia (6/5): Look like professional but... - The apartment was really at the heart of the town. Everything is near and you need only, 10-15 minutes walk to go to all the tourist attractions. It's new and the room is exactly like the photos. The apartment is too small to stay 2 people with their luggages. Furthermore there is any place for 2 to leave the wet towels, it has got only place for 1 towel. We leave 3 nights there and we haven't second big towel! The most negative thing of all is not the small room but the not clean room. When we checked in ( 1 hour earlier) the apartment looks like clean with a little dust at the top of the bed. But when I look down from the bed it has got hairs, flosser, paper. Immediately I call to the call center. Then they send me a message that the cleaner has a problem and left from the apartment earlier and send to me another cleaner for the room. Finally, the last day at 09.55 the cleaner ring my bell to leave because she must clean. The check out was on 10.
• Izzy (9/5): incredible stay, already looking at flights back! - Great location. everything is walkable with about 20 minutes. Property was very comfortable and lovely condition. staff were really responsive and quick to bring an iron when we requested one as there wasn’t one in the room. hairdryer was brilliant. quite alot of steps (we were the top 4th floor) if you have heavy bags/ don’t do well with steps. this is just to be aware of if you are booking but not a problem.
• Roger (10/5): Centrally located apartment, recently renovated with modern features - Centrally located apartment within walking distance to all the main sights and central station. Check-in process was easy with a door code provided to access and keys in a lock box. The room was quite spacious with an ensuite bathroom and all the basic amenities included for a short stay. Room was recently renovated and included some newer technology features such as usb charger ports next to the bed, LED lighting, climate control panel, heated towel racks, etc. Do note that access to the apartments is only available via a staircase, but to be expected of an older building in central Florence. • Sebastian (9/5): Great place to stay at, would come back and recommend. - the location is amazing. contactless checking and checkout. the room is nice and has everything you need. Airconditioning was welcome in May during hot temperatures. wifi worked well. there was a bit of hair from the previous tenants on the bed sheet and on one towel, however, we also checked in early and literally walked in as the previous people left/the cleaner just finished up.
