- Rachel (10/5): - It was a lovely little house. Ceiling fans in all rooms and heating. Had everything you needed and near the beach. Highly recommended Nothing
- Hannah (8/5): -
- Kim (7/5): Where's the beach - Location relevant to our stay
Comfortable bed Poor parking and no "private beach" as stated in description
- John (10/5): WE enjoyed the location and the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of teh beach shack - it was very comfortable and location was great. n/a
- Holika (10/5): -
- Scholz (8/5): Really enjoyed my stay, a lovely spot - Very cute, excellent facilities, close to the beach and quiet suburb Everything was fine, no aircon could be a problem in hot weather
- Alison (8/5): Lovely little Shack - Love this location and proximity to the water. Parks cafes and restaurants so close by There is not anywhere in the house to hang any clothes. Difficult when you are there for a few days. The addition of a little wardrobe in each bedroom would be amazing.
- yogendra (4/5): - The location was excellent. The listing stated that breakfast was included for five days, but the provisions were insufficient for a family of three. We received just one loaf of bread, two eggs, two 235g boxes of cornflakes, along with milk and juice—far below what would reasonably cover five days. The listing stated the property had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but upon arrival, I discovered it only had one bathroom. When I raised this issue, I was offered two options: (1) check out with a refund, or (2) accept ad hoc cleaning as compensation. Since it was peak school holiday season and no alternative accommodations were available, I chose option 2. Unfortunately, the promised ad hoc cleaning was never provided.

- Raymond (10/5): It was very comfortable and clean - It was a great location Parking only available for one vehicle
- Kylie (6/5): I do love your place but a few changes would make it better. - Love that you have installed fans in every room now since our last visit
Having some breakfast things was nice
Heaters made it comfortable
Love that you can access verandah from outside now
House was clean apart from dust under furniture
Location great Access/entry- consider changing locks, dead bolts not easy to unlock in case of emergency. It would be nice if screen doors could lock so you could leave open.
Windows- don't lock and have no screens on lounge and main bedroom
Beds- could do with mattress topper or new mattresses
Dining table to big for kitchen to be easily accessible
No coffee machine
Have to have kitchen cupboards open when dryer is on so they don't bang continually.
Car parking is very hard for our car, would be great if one palm tree was removed to make it easier to access.
Disappointed that house is now smaller
- Karen (8/5): Very good - was a cute little home pretty close to the beach , comfortable for a 2 brm home .nice facilities family friendly games etc cooshy couches our boys were disapointed it wasnt 3brm anymore had to share a bed
- Donavan (5/5): Over all was okay - The main shower The beds were uncomfortable , lack of car parking, couldn’t open the windows in main bedroom as no screen, no air conditioning or fan . The main toilet block up a few times.
- Gailene (8/5): Very good -
- Joel (1/5): Bad - We liked the location as it was easy to drive to anywhere. It's a lovely house that seems to be badly managed by the Landlord or house manager Jessica. We didn't like that the accommodation was dirty and we could not place our belongings in the drawers as it was filty. The house was not cleaned at all, the hoover left there was disgusting dirty. Could not use it to clean the property.
The house was stuffed and very hot. There was only one old standing fan.
We contacted Jessica to request extra fans, and she said to open windows for a sea brease.
She ignored my email complaining about the filty state of the bedrooms. Overall, the dirty from underneath the bed made me unwell. I had to spend money with medication, and I'm still not well.
After being ignored by the accommodation manager, I checked the reviews and found that this house is always dirty and seems that she does not care about it.
It's a shame as it leaves a bad impression for visitors of this beautiful country.
Stay away from this property. It is not worth your money.
- Dawn (8/5): Host was very lovely - Cosy No aircon
- Daniel (9/5): It was a great location, perfect for our needs. We would happily stay there again. - It was quaint and cosy. Just what we needed. There were no fans or aircon.
- Kylie (7/5): Good - Location No air con or fans, very hot
- Kym (1/5): Bad - Basically it’s a nice place, the bathroom which has been updated was great. Kitchen and supplies great and The continental breaks was fantastic. The location was terrible, the main Roads traffic noise kept us awake all night, and day, bus stop at the front door😖
No FLYSCREENS... and the couple that are there have a million holes,
Only some of the windows could be opened,
NO LOCKS to 95% of the windows and both screen doors couldn’t be locked. Very unsafe..
No AIRCONDITION, not even ceiling fans or free standing fans. It was 30 degrees on our arrival. Stiffling hot in the house.
The parking was terrible, if you have a big car it would be extremely difficult to park in the front of the house, the surface was uneven and my 77 yr old mum nearly fell because of this, as she was trying to miss the dog poo out the front, quite a bit of it.
The mattresses are terrible, the springs coming through are beyond uncomfortable, maybe mattress protectors would help.
NO TV ,free to air, not everyone watches Netflix etc.., some of us like the news and keeping up with what is happening in the world.
Overall our stay was terrible. The house needs some work to it. Wouldn’t recommend it..
- Deidre (6/5): Basically it was a nice stay with some lovely friends, but it could have been way better. - We did not have breakfast as we were using the house for a weekend away. But it was a standard breakfast. I asked to be supplied decafe coffee and that was provided. Thank you. I was unable to lock the screen door, so no air was getting into the house when it got warm. It really needs an air conditioner. The second bathroom is just a toilet and shower with no facilities to wash your hands and there were cockroaches that need treating. We are older people, and I found that some of the rugs were trip hazards. I would have preferred a shower gel as 1 soap for everyone to use is a bit yuk, but it smelt nice. There was NO washing up detergent, so how are you able to clean your dishes. Also clean under the sink it is gross and has Mould and it smells. It would have been nice to have some ideas for eating out, getting breakfast etc. plus a local map would have helped.
- Joel (8/5): Very good -
- Ash (4/5): Disappointing - The location was great and easily accessible to near by areas. We where charged a cleaning fee and the premises was absolutely filthy. The floors have not been cleaned in what appeared to be a very long time, there where piles of bugs in multiple rooms. It is said that a continental breakfast is provided each day of the stay, we where provided with 3 individual bags of cereal, 1 loaf of wholemeal bread, 3 apples a small milk and juice. We had booked for 5 people if we had known we would of bought breakfast items from home. The sinks and bathrooms where all filthy and full of sand. It nearly looked like the previous guest checked out and it was not cleaned.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (9/5): We had a lovely , comfortable stay . The beach shack was clean and well presented and met all of our - We loved the Beach Shack and breakfast was nice .
- Prudence (8/5): Very good -
- Tina (1/5): Worst experience even tho they knew was there for funeral. - Good location Complains every day about noise that wasn’t even us and car parking as no parking unless on street down the road or on dirt our the front can’t use drive way. No heating in the house has 2 small fan heaters to heat the whole 3 bedroom house didn’t even heat 1 room let alone whole house. No normal tv channels. As seen parked the bus across the road as couldn’t use driveway
- David (4/5): Disappointed, will not return or recommend. - Location Place was not clean at all, dead cockroaches and dust balls throughout, broken and dangerous light switches, unable to work heater had to rely on two small fan heaters, extension leads and power boards powering everything which also tripped, kitchen facilities dirty, main contact did not respond to phone call, beds hard and pillows flat, linen and towels not really clean, car space is front yard and hard to access, water flood bathroom when in shower, toilet blocked, advertising misleading.
- Toireasa (8/5): Good place that just needs a little more attention to cleaning (not filthy, but a little dusty). Great for a family. - Lots of space. Great beds. Perfect location near the beach. Quiet at night. Full kitchen. Washing machine and dryer. Good wifi. Kids loved the toys and electric piano. Netflix’s on tv was a bonus. Tight parking area. One Queen bed was made with a single size sheet and fitted sideways. Hair in the bed too. Floor wasn’t fully swept in bedroom.
- Kerry (7/5): Cold house but good location - Location and space The heating advertised didn’t work an only had small blow heater. House was cold Breakfast supplied tasted stale.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - A sincere and thoughtful idea, very appreciative and appropriate. Hot porridge on a cold and chilly morning. Fresh fruit and other cereal packs. Nil
- Anna (1/5): Bad - Location I would give zero if I could. And after complaining to the host, I got attitude! Then apparently the place was cleaned and sheets were changed, obviously someone wasn’t happy because the sheets on one of the bed looked like my 5 year old fitted them! The place was just plain dirty, I removed a rug that everyone was tripping on to discover a pile of dirt and dust like it hadn’t been moved in years! Cob webs on the balcony, hair in the beds dirty sheets, dirty floors, dirty everything, no privacy, no cooling, not even a cloth to wipe things down with!!! I would NOT recommend this place unless you like living in someone else’s filth.
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (5/5): Ok, but fix up the facilities to make it better - Location Very hot inside, only a few fly screens, no fans or air conditioning, some pests founds inside the house too.
- Dan (10/5): we will be back but need to sort the air for hot summers - great place to stay, we will be back only air conditioning in 1 bedroom
- Louann (7/5): Good -
- Natasha (6/5): Pleasant - Great location, parking, had everything we needed. Bad and milk upon arrival, useful when travelling with kids. Bathroom was lovely. No fans - it was extremely hot when we arrived, and the house was stuffy. There were cockroaches in the kitchen, and the vacuum cleaner didn't work. Pillows were all too soft.
- Andrew (4/5): Disappointing - close to cafes, and venue.
host was quite friendly and responded to messages
it wasn't really a holiday house for us, just somewhere to rest our heads when we weren't tied up with our other activities the property was clearly a work in progress you could see areas that had been renovated bit by bit, i think it was the same with the property out the back, not that i know if they were related or not...we kept that in mind,
but - the yard was not kept, the access and doors were poorly considered (all on deadlocks) there were really no basic condiments, no wardrobes or hanging space, no clothes line, etc
The major concerns for us were lack of A/C, lack of fans and lack of flyscreens we spent nights with windows open in a furnace fighting off mosquitos - one night i found myself sleeping on the floor in the loungeroom trying to escape the heat... we ended up hiring an AC from Kennards then bought 3 pedestal fans from Bunnings
Further without those flyscreens you really had no sense of security
For less than what we paid for the week they could fit a split system A/C and some fly screens modify the keying system and install a clothes line and the place would be a lot more functional, comfortable and liveable - if this were addressed we'd probably stay again
"the Beach House" is a bit of a stretch...
- Anonymous (10/5): Had some lovely time - The showers probably id say There was no backyard to hang your clothes in the sun
- Renee (7/5): A handy location in a lovely suburb. Good family accommodation - The house was a good size for our needs. Rooms were nicely furnished. The lounge room was comfortable and relaxing. The location was handy to the waterfront, park, sailing club, grocery shop and coffee shop. It was great to have a washing machine and dryer to use. Jessica the host provided some breakfast basics which was appreciated. We booked very last minute and Jessica was very prompt in assisting us with access to the property. My daughter loved the piano. The little front balcony was nice to sit and have a coffee, plenty of people walking dogs, it is a lovely area. The house does get hot and stuffy with no fans, even with windows and doors open. We went to Bunnings and purchased our own as it made it quiet uncomfortable to sleep. The street noise in the front room can be loud. The house is on a dual access driveway, cars are right on the house as they enter and exit. There is no microwave, no bathroom mat and no washing up brush (I bought one)
- Susan (1/5): Totally unplesant stay in a house completely unsuitable for a Sydney summer, heat being the norm! - The location was great but I had specifically chosen it to be near the St Georges's river sailing club as we were attending an event held there for the week. This property is completely unsuitable for a Sydney summer stay. There are no fans provided and the sun streams in to the living area in the morning as there are no sun blinds provided. We hit a heatwave and the house was like an oven for the two weeks (24/7). I contacted the host but she had no sympathy and just referred to the fact that no AC was advertised! I had asked for a fan. Additionally, the wifi was not accessible by our devices in the house. Again, the host did not seem very engaged in trying to sort out the problem. We had no wifi accessible for our devices and laptops for the two weeks. The host really did not make much of an effort or seem concerned that this was a problem for us. A very unsatisfactory stay. It looks good in the photos but it all window dressing. The worse experience I've every had in 10 years with booking.com. There were other practical issues such as only one hand towel, no hanging space (literally not one hanger in house!), no place to hang wet clothes, no iron, no microwave, had to clear out cupboards before use, oven not cleaned, no lid for rice cooker so should not be in kitchen, wrong coffee pod in machine so couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work! All in all, no attention to care and service by hosts.
- Jasmine (8/5): Perfect little holiday home for a family, nice and spacious with a parking spot. Perfect location close to a great park - Lovely location, beautiful little holiday home. Was lovely to have a few necessities already at the property. Floors were dirty, rug in lounge was very dirty and covered in hair - we ran the vacuum over it though and we’re happy to do so.
- Isabel (5/5): underwhelming - Spacious enough for a family of 4
Cute beach theme decor
Nice walking track nearby Poorly insulated, Noise from street very loud in bedrooms (particularly main bedroom)
No microwave in kitchen
Coffee machine but only 1 pod provided and no way to heat milk (no milk frother or microwave)
Breakfast items provided were expired/out of date. Croissants had visible mold and were 12 days out of date, milk expired day of check-in.
The renovation of the house was very poorly executed, every surface had been painted including light switches, power points which made some unusable. Tiles in back half of the house were not grouted so question how you can clean this.
2nd bathroom is really only functional as a toilet.
- Venkatesh (9/5): Superb - Clear details of key collection and the facilities were good for the family of 5. Walking distance to beach walk Parking on the grass was bit uneasy but on road parkings were available
- Kristie (10/5): Beautiful - Thank you very much for having us Jessica. It was lovely & your hospitality is amazing. It was fantastic to have the bread & milk & some snacks, we really appreciated it so much. Thank you again.Your house is lovely & very well set out, the decor is beautiful.
- Girts (5/5): Passable - Location near see. Good WC. Weak in my view. The beds are bad. The insulation of the house is very bad. Any slightest noise on the street can be heard inside. It felt like we were sleeping on the street. We are freezing. There is no heating. The electric fireplace did not work.
- Sonya (9/5): Jessica made us feel very comfortable and was very accommodating. - position nice, clean and comfortable
- Terese (8/5): It was a lovely home in a very nice position to walk to the park and beach and cafes - It was a lovely home, felt very warm and friendly as soon as we walked in. The hosts left us a thoughtful gift of snacks and breakfast supplies which we really enjoyed and lovely soft bath towels. We just had a problem with the TV, it kept switching off the first night and we weren’t able to get it onto normal tv channels on either of the tvs. Maybe they weren’t tuned in to the channels.
One other thing the cooktop turned itself on in one of the plates and we couldn’t turn it off eventually it cooled down and so we didn’t want to touch it or use it.
