- Romina Bed. (8/5): - Das Hotel im Boho Stil liegt in einer Seitenstraße fern ab vom Trubel. Uns hat es sehr gefallen, da wir es auch ruhiger mögen. ( ca. 6 - 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Strand ) Die Zelte ( in denen wir zu viert geschlafen haben, passen sich perfekt den Gegebenheiten in der Anlage an, so dass alles sehr harmonisch wirkt. Ein kleines Hotel mit Bar, die von 8- 21 Uhr geöffnet hat. Die Zelte sind einfach gehalten, reichen aber vollkommen aus für ein paar Nächte. Es gab zwei Ventilatoren, die für eine kühle Brise in die Nacht gesorgt haben. Wir fanden es wirklich toll hier. Bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten, gibt es nichts zu meckern. Pool kann von 7uhr bis 21uhr benutzt werden. Wir hatten den Pool fast für uns alleien. Es gibt 4 Frühstücksvarianten. Obst und Yoghurt Omelett und Toast Rührei und Toast Und ei Traditionelles Costa Ricanisches Frühstück mit Bohnen, Reis und Bananen... Wir würden wiederkommen.
- Yareli (10/5): Tropical nest - Excellent servíce ,waitresses were nice, courteous and quick. The villa was very clean and roomy, there is a lot of closet space in each room, we didn’t get use the kitchen but it was nice to have it as an option. The pool was nice and warm. The lounge area is beautiful, comfortable, you can feel you’re in Costa Rica everywhere. The breakfast is okay is complete , no free coffee refills or milk for kids though. There are 4 breakfast and 4 drink options and each person gets to pick one of each. Quite at night except for animal/fruit falling sounds on ceiling. Mangoes were everywhere lounge area floor. They provide extra towels if needed. Happy hour - drinks and service were good. Parking right in front of our villa. Only had their chicken fingers for the kids but were very good. The only thing we didn't like is leaving this place.
- Nadja (4/5): - Die Anlage grundsätzlich ist schön angelegt, großzügig mit einem großen Pool in der Mitte. Außerdem ist es schön ruhig. So ziemlich alles braucht mehr Aufmerksamkeit. Früchte, die von den Bäumen gefallen sind lagen tagelang herum, der Pool war ständig dreckig, weil Blätter und anderes hereingefallen war. Terrasse und Außendusche unseres Zimmers waren ebenfalls sehr dreckig. Alles in allem wurde sich viel zu wenig um die Anlage gekümmert, einiges war in die Jahre gekommen und einfach nicht repariert worden. Das Frühstück war das schlechteste, das wir auf unser dreiwöchigen Reise erlebt haben - sehr einfach, man durfte sich maximal ein Getränk aussuchen, für jedes weitere Glas musste man etwas bezahlen. Für Vegetarier gab es keinerlei Auswahl und auch die Qualität des Essens war nicht gut.
- Leida (7/5): A place with lot of potential, if management would pay more attention to details. - It has a lot of potential and is close to one of the best beaches - Flamenco. You can hear and see monkeys and birds and stuff is quite nice. Beds were comfortable. Unfortunately they dont pay attention to details. Pool and area around was always full of leaves and seemed dirty, same as for our private little backyard. Room photos are much better as the real rooms. Couldnt sleep well at night since palm leaves would make A LOT of noise on the metal roof. Breakfast was too simple - I assume there is much more fruits in Costa Rica than watermelon? Also there is such good coffee in Costa Rica, but the one they serve for breakfast was horrible. Had to order a capuchino which would cost 8USD extra.

- Nathalie (7/5): Schöne, aber teure Unterkunft - - schönes Zimmer mit Bad im Freien - Pool ubd gemütliche Sofas draußen - Parkplätze verfügbar - das Frühstück ist sehr simpel - das Personal steht meist gelangweilt rum und schaut aufs Handy, während man am Frühstück wartet bedient zu werden, oder der Pool schmutzig ist - wenn am frühen Abend nur noch zwei draußen saßen, wurde teilweise ab 20:30 die Musik ausgemacht oder die Lichter sehr früh ausgeschalten, weil es sich scheinbar nicht mehr „gelohnt hat“. - alles in Allem daher viel zu teuer

Food was very expensive. It was also not possible to flush toilet paper (but this is standard across the region, so not the hotel's fault).

Die Stühle am Pool sind kaputt. - das Frühstück: nichts besonderes, einfachstes Touri-Essen, selbst das Tipico war fad - Anfragen in der Buchung wurden bestätigt, mussten aber trotzdem nochmal vor Ort erfragt werden
- Katarzyna (10/5): - Zarezerwowaliśmy willę. Czuliśmy się tam jak w domu. Przepiękna i przestronna, bardzo komfortowa. Samo miejsce bardzo urokliwe i przyjemne. Właściciele niezwykle sympatyczni, dbający o to miejsce . Basen, lobby i restauracja urządzone z gustem, chce się tu być. Bardzo sympatyczny młody pan kelner podający śniadania, pracujący na barze. Szkoda, że wybór śniadań był niewielki : tylko 4 śniadania do wyboru. W willi spodziewaliśmy się, że będzie dostępne żelazko, aby wyprasować nasze letnie sukienki i lniane koszule. Brak. Niestety nie było też możliwości jego wypożyczenia.

- JULIEN (3/5): Hôtel médiocre sans possibilité de se laver dans la douche - Le lit de nos enfants était dur comme du béton, bancal avec une barre métallique au milieu du lit. Ils n’ont pas pu dormir. Impossible de se laver dans la douche car il y avait juste un petit filet d’eau. Si vous avez les cheveux longs vous les laverez ailleurs mais certainement pas dans cet hôtel. Le petit déjeuner était médiocre. La piscine était sale et Si trouble qu’on n’en voyait pas le fond Nous avons donc été arnaqués vu le tarif!!

Organisation needs some work, training staff to smile and atleast to say welcome when you are the only person coming to the bar, cleaning poolarea every day instead of only when a big table arrives for superbowl... but still enjoyed our stay because of the great room and the great decor all over the accommodation that is small ride to the beach

Discrimancion - Location Agradecemos mucho que nos permitieran ingresar antes de la hora del check-in, especialmente porque llegamos bajo la lluvia y realmente necesitábamos un lugar donde refugiarnos. Sin embargo, al llegar se nos informó que existía riesgo de que una rama pudiera caer sobre el vehículo si lo estacionábamos dentro de la propiedad. Entendemos que pueden existir este tipo de riesgos naturales y agradecemos que nos lo advirtieran, pero nos resultó alarmante que no exista ningún tipo de medida preventiva o protocolo de seguridad para brindar tranquilidad al huésped. Más que el hecho de mencionarlo, lo preocupante fue notar que si llegara a ocurrir algún daño, la responsabilidad recaería únicamente sobre el visitante, sin que el establecimiento contemple alguna acción o respaldo ante una situación de ese tipo. También notamos cierta inconsistencia en la información que se nos brindó previamente. Días antes del check-in consultamos sobre la posibilidad de llegar antes y sobre los horarios del desayuno; se nos indicó que el desayuno era a las 7 a.m., pero al llegar nos informaron que en realidad era a las 8 a.m. Esto afectó un poco el itinerario que ya teníamos planeado, especialmente porque el servicio comenzó alrededor de las 8:30 a.m. Por otro lado, pedí café y no se nos ofrecieron azúcar ni servilletas, detalle que al principio no consideramos importante hasta que notamos que a otros huéspedes sí les brindaron esa atención. Eso generó cierta incomodidad, ya que la atención se sintió desigual. En cuanto al check-out, quien nos indicó que debíamos avisar para que revisaran la habitación fue la misma persona que nos recibió y que estuvo presente en las inconsistencias anteriores. Sin embargo, al momento de retirarnos y avisar a la muchacha que encontramos (quien también trabaja en el lugar), ella nos hizo saber que ese proceso de revisión nunca se realizaba, y que simplemente podíamos irnos sin problema.

Did not meet expectations, will not be back. - One of the bar attendants was very nice Bathroom is outside which they do not make clear and you get eaten alive by mosquitoes any time you need to shower or use the toilet. WiFi is very slow. Some sort of liquid that looked like bird feces dripped onto our pillows and sheets. Rain leaked under the door. Breakfast took over 30 minutes to make.
- Nathalie (6/5): Beautiful upscale hostel - Curiol has outdone themselves when it comes to the Boho chique vibe. The setting is beautifully done! Great lounge areas, beautiful pool. Super friendly staff. We couldn’t quite put our finger on what felt off at first, because it’s clear they’re really trying to create a great experience. But eventually, we realized it felt more like an upscale hostel than a hotel. The rooms are quite basic and very dark, and while the outdoor bathroom isn’t a problem in itself, the mosquitoes definitely are. The staff is kind, but communication can be tricky if you don’t speak Spanish. Housekeeping only happens if you request it, breakfast is very minimal, the music is loud like you’re at a festival (although they change it if you ask for it), and there’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms (too spotty).

Si le prix avait été plus adéquat, nous aurions manger beaucoup plus souvent là comme l'ambiance était très agréable. Le staff était vraiment gentil. Prix d'une nuit et de la bouffe est exagéré pour la place. Aussi, il serait bien de changer les poubelles pendant le séjour comme il y a une restriction de mettre les papiers de toilette dans la toilette.

- Giorgia (6/5): - Position was okay, very close to the beach and the restaurant/lounge area was quite pretty. This is far from a boutique hotel. The room need more mantainance. It may have been clean (though the toilet bins should been changed daily since we throw used toilet papers there) but quite neglected: the patio was supposed to have a rug or some chairs and instead was empty, with just a broken chair and lots of leaves. The walls/showers/sink they look either ruined or undone. No storage space as well.

- Deborah (1/5): Terrible family experience - Nothing, unfortunately The "glamping" tent was filthy, with rotted wood on the floors and dirty furniture. There was a moldly bathmat that they used to cover some of the holes created by the rotted wood and the toilet lid fell off when trying to use it. The staff were also unhelpful and while not outright rude, they expressed a flippant response when inquiring about the excursions that were coordinated by their staff member, stating that that individual no longer worked there. It was an alarming response to receive given we had paid two deposits for a couple activities. It was difficult to track staff down given slim staffing and getting something simple like towels seemed an onerous request as they had limited supply. It was such a terrible experience for an otherwise lovely family trip to Costa Rica. We were appalled by the conditions given the beautiful photos and common positive reviews. It was a busy tourist season at that time otherwise we would have taken the financial hit and opted to stay elsewhere but there were no other options available.

Felt like we were very important - the hotel is a small boutique hotel and even when it was full- we never had more than a dozen or so guests. Met so many nice people from holland and Spain. This was much more enjoyable than a big resort. There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

- Caridad (2/5): Buen potencial, mala admisión. - Buen potencial El staff no fue claro con ciertas cosas del hotel. Nos decían que una copa de vino costaba 9000 colones y en el menu decia que esa mims copa costaba 5000. Nos ofrecieron agua y nos trajeron agua embotellada antes de que siquiera pudieramos decir que no ya las venia abriendo. Pedimos un lomito termino bien hecho y estaba casi crudo. El desayuno que venia incluido solo tenian 2 opciones que era el pinto o el continental, el pinto solo estuvo disponible 1 de los días y el segundo no estaba disponible porque no hicieron el arroz el día anterior. El baño al aire libre quedaba en el campo de visión de otras habitaciones entonces no había privacidad. El primer dia habia una gran cantidad de abejas en el baño y nos ofrecieron pasarnos a una habitación de menor categoría. Por último, el aire acondicionado, una de las razones para la cual pagamos un poco más, con costos funcionaba.

- Julie (7/5): Beautiful setting in the trees, extremely helpful staff, a bit far from the beach for us, and it is a good value. - Liked the common area and pool, large enough to really swim and a beautiful setting in the trees. Many birds in the morning. Liked the music played at dinner. Having breakfast in the pretty pool area with the trees and plants and birds was lovely. We were able to hear howlers in the morning between 5 and 6 AM. The manager Brandon was very, very helpful at all times, one of the most helpful that we have experienced in our many travels, he even drove us down to the beach when it was a little too hot for us to walk. He made a wonderful fruit breakfast for us on the day we had to leave at 6 AM for our flight. The room we stayed in was a king suite and was very large with lots of storage space and an outdoor shower. Air conditioning worked well. We are older, in our 70s, and it was a bit difficult for us to walk the seven or eight blocks down to the beach in the heat of the day. This wouldn’t be an issue at all if you have a car. There were some minor issues like the toilet seat being loose, and the ceiling fan not producing a lot of air movement.

Le petit déjeuner n'est pas terrible du tout, pas de thé, le jus d'orange est infect. Déçue également de l'emplacement, j'aurais préféré être à tamarindo.

Está cerca de restaurantes, bares, supermercado, de la playa, hay una farmacia cerca, se puede movilizar a playa penca o a la marina de flamingo En general me parece un buen hotel y la relación precio ~ calidad es buena, tal vez a algunas personas les parecería útil tener una pantalla en la habitción para ver una película por la noche, al menos a mí no me hizo falta pero podría ser un dato a considerar

- Pierre (6/5): Belle espace piscine, cosy mais ... je ne recommande pas forcément. - Le personnel, la piscine et les parties communes très cosy. Son emplacement permet de rayonner rapidement sur toute la côte. La musique trop forte en particulier le soir même quand il n'y a personne. Literie à rénover. Parking à l'extérieur de l'hotel. Lors de notre dernière nuit, la climatisation (ou plus précisément, le bloc extérieur) de la chambre voisine faisait énormément de bruit dans notre chambre, impossible de s'endormir... Il faut savoir que le soir, à part le jeune veilleur de nuit, il n'y a personne. Il a fait ce qu'il pouvait (c'est à dire pas grand chose) sans résultat, et à 1h du matin j'ai été frappé à la porte du propriétaire ("DJ" qui était présent sur le site) et il a eu un comportement et des mots inacceptables envers moi et insultant envers le jeune veilleur de nuit ! Bien loin de l'image qu'il présente sur le site Internet !!! Petit déjeuner assez limité même s'il était plutôt bon... c'est le seul hotel qui a voulu nous facturé les tartines supplémentaires (2$ la tartine !!!). Après réclamation et vu les problèmes de la veille... ils ont finalement annulé cette facture supplémentaire.

- Alvarez (7/5): Está bien para ir un par de noches o una. - El lugar es bonito y las habitaciones son cómodas. Los baños comunes estaban limpios y hay bar y restaurante en el lugar. El personal es muy agradable y servicial. El parqueo adentro es muy pequeño y no asignan campos a los huéspedes por lo que los visitantes entran y los toman, teniendo que dejar el carro, los huéspedes afuera. Las habitaciones tenían algunas cosas en mal estado o descuidadas, denotan falta de atención a detalles importantes de mantenimiento. No hay coffee makers, ni pequeños y el café del restaurante estaba feo. Los desayunos son bastante simples, muy basicos.

The amazing staff, including Scarlett, Brandon, and Fabian, demonstrated remarkable genuine warmth and attentiveness to any request made of them made us feel incredibly welcome and well-cared for throughout our visit. The hotel itself offers an intimate and tropical atmosphere, complemented by a refreshing pool, and I was particularly impressed by how clean and well-maintained all areas were. The fresh food provided was consistently delicious, adding another delightful element to our stay. The hotel's location is located in a quiet neighborhood, offering convenient access to the beach, various restaurants, and a grocery store, all within a comfortable 10-minute walk. I would highly recommend the Curiol to anyone planning a visit to the area and want to be treated like family. N/A

- Sebastián (6/5): Regular - Las instalaciones estaban muy bonitas Lo primero, era difícil dormirse porque la habitacion que reservamos (curre) tiene paredes falsas y se escuchaba todo lo de las habitaciones de al lado, hasta una conversación normal. Segundo, la atención en el restaurante no fue buena. Tardaban mucho en atender y en servir, además un dia no había pinto.
- Randall (6/5): Estancia regular para llegar a dormir - La experiencia de las habitaciones, al ser diferentes eran agradables por la experiencia Con respecto al menú, no había la totalidad de los platillos, además a nivel de cocina no tenían los suficientes suministros para las preparaciones, ejemplo pedimos hamburguesas el segundo día y nos dijeron que no tenían, luego con respecto a las bebidas son sumamente pequeñas, unos vasos que con demasiado poco líquido, a la hora del desayuno igualmente no tenían salchicha y lo sustituyeron por dos tajadas pequeñas de jamón, luego el huevo estaba mal cocido y eso que lo pedimos huevos revueltos, por ese aspecto nos quedaron debiendo.
- Francesca (6/5): Not worht the money we spent - The open space at the entrance is nice, you have plenty of sofas and tables to relax. Staff is nice and really helpful. The pool wasn’t clean. The room wasn’t nice as pictures, no wardrobe or place to unfold your clothes, the room service is not available so no one is cleaning your room during your stay. Lastly, to get some breakfast (even if you are the first one to order) you need to wait around 40 minutes. This morning it took them 35 minutes to deliver us some coffe. Overall we think we paid too much for the service offered.

PURA VIDA!!! - My son and I traveled on a three week journey around the Nicoya Peninsula in the Guancaste Region and absolutely loved everything we experienced. We purposely saved this boutqiue hotel as our final and last spot and I am so glad we did because it was the PERFECT way to spend our last 5 nights. The location, grounds, boho charm meets costa rican excellence. Javier and his staff ( if you even want to call them staff everyone is like family and treat you the same) took such good care of us and made us feel so welcome and attended to. The even had a sunday pool party with a DJ which was family friendly too and it was a blast! I met so many new people that way. The food ( especially their sushi) was amazing! We love this place and can't recommend it enough! We are coming back in October!!! Literally the only thing was Mosquitos, but they are EVERYWHERE and it was no fault of the hotel/location/amenities or anything. We just dealt with them everywhere in Costa Rica, but often we were told it was because we were so sweet :)

Would absolutely recommend to anyone passing through Potrero.

- Rebecca (10/5): Beautiful Accommodations for our Family of 5 - The staff was so friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. The food was delicious. Our lodging was perfect for our family of 5 to feel comfortable and spread out with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen to make meals, and 3 bedrooms. The location was a perfect jumping off place for several different destinations. We will definitely return! Due to the weather being windy and rainy in the afternoons, the pool had leaves most of the time, but the staff did an excellent job of cleaning it regularly.
