Guest Reviews
- Geoff (7/5): A good little spot to stay. - Location was very good. My wife had special dietary needs which were addressed. Bathroom was a bit cramped.
- Stan (8/5): - The rustic charm and history of the building and of the area. At time of booking I didn't quite realize that being alongside Bussell Highway meant heavy trucks through the night. So not much sleep. My bad
- Rooke (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic place to base yourself to explore the region. Nice rooms and communal areas. Loved the breakfast hampers.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Zali (8/5): Very good -
- Fallon (10/5): Definitely would stay again! -
- Alvin (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Wonderful stay . Great location. Highly recommend. - Exceptional attention to detail. Breakfast was very generous. Shared facilities were well stocked and very comfortable and attractive . Again attention to detail made such a difference . Lovely glasses and crockery . Great snacks and lots of choice of seating. Loved the bath and again attention to detail in bathroom … extra towels. Can get noisy when other guests present . But this could be a bonus for socialising as well.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - This is a heritage 1930's building with bedrooms being just that with ensuites and modern plumbing in heritage style sqeezed in. Separate is a spacious communal living space with dining room area and large fully equipped kitchen, all facilities are well maintained and clean. Catering excellent; self serve using plentiful basket of gourmet foods for each roomi waitin in commercial chiller in the kitchen. nil
- Kate (8/5): Gorgeous welcoming room and clean excellent facilities . Would stay again - The location , interior, cleanliness, breakfast hamper My shower had a hand held attachment but it didn’t work, only the above large attachment worked .
- Gus (9/5): Superb -
- Barbara (7/5): Good - Unexpected that we were required to cook our own breakfasts. Food was provided, but because there was no way of returning / swapping unwanted items there must have been considerable wastage.
- Parkin (6/5): A picture property full of character and history but very impersonal, you never meet the host. - The breakfast hamper was very good. Communication was poor. There is a telephone number to ring but no one answers and the message bank is full.
The bed was very high and it was a herculean effort for me to get in it. Dangerous too trying to find things to use to climb in.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb - Breakfast provided was excellent- so was the quick response to any queries.
- John (10/5): Excellent stay - It's exactly what we thought it would be. Great in house facilities. Generous breakfast basket snacks and drinks Nil
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jocelyn (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing breakfast hamper and wine.
Room was very comfortable Wish we could have stayed longer
- Jessica (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway - Loved the amenities, the breakfast a d the comfort of it all! Nothing
- Janice (9/5): Excellent location, plentiful breakfast and comfy bed - The location is great. There is so much breakfast that I could make an extra sandwich for lunch each day. The bed was really comfortable It would be nice to see a staff at some stage eg asking about local facility or just meet and greet. I did not see any staff the whole stay I was there. The whole place was very quiet.
- Jasenko (8/5): Stunning old bakehouse - Beautiful & clean place to stay, certainly will visit again. We had a quite relaxing stay at old bakehouse, regenrated our positive energy. Excellent breakfast and room with the comfortable bed. Corawramup has a quite few good coffe shops, the French bakery, the Taphouse, few good walks...
- Ray (10/5): Would definitely go back. - Breakfast was terrific. More than enough for the 2 days we spent there. Loved the complimentary G&T - a really nice touch. As it turned out I happened to know someone else staying at the same time, so we all ended up having a great evening having some wine and nibbles, relaxing in the beautiful lounge.
Communication prior to arriving was terrific too.
We ended up with a minor problem in our shower which was seen to and fixed immediately.
- Hugh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mabel (10/5): Relaxing, very comfortable and great location within walking distance to some very nice restaurants. - Breakfast basket provided was full of fresh fruit, cheese, ham, bread, yogurt, eggs and muffins. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything you needed during our stay. The complimentary bottle of wine was very much appreciated. Nothing to not like, every little detail was so well thought out and I am not able to suggest any improvements.
- Troy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Perthharry (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay. The location in town and being able to walk to everything was brilliant. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves - it was very special. The shared facilities are amazing - the gin bar was great. We so appreciate that there is a dog friendly option.
- Cian (10/5): Stunning property, very well located with only a quick stroll to bars/cafes in Cowaramup. Would highly recommend - Beautiful aesthetic, comfortable bed, centrally located in Cowaramup near pubs/cafes, well equipped communal kitchen
- Jennifer (10/5): The old bakery in Cowaramup is a perfect base to explore the Margaret River Reguon - Everything! This place was so comfortable and welcoming, nothing to fault at all. Fantastic stay. The weekend breakfast was delicious and everything you could want. For the evenings they provide a complementary gin bar and even a bottle of wine on arrival. Nothing
- Savilla (8/5): Very good -
- Jacqueline (10/5): A restful stay in a beautiful property which makes us want to go back again! - We loved this property! It is an old converted bakery. The rooms are very comfortable, gorgeously designed, with all the amenities you would need. The gardens are beautiful and the property is situated within walking distance of the shops in Cowaramup, and a short drive to Margaret River. We had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing weekend. Nothing to dislike.
- Tracey (9/5): A B+B worth staying at. Really enjoyed the - The little touches of the Gin and tonic and the assortment of glasses was perfect. I’m sure the weekend buffet breakfast would be a treat but we were there mid week.
The bedding and linen were luxurious and couldn’t flat the facilities outside of a kitchenette.
Really enjoyed our long lunch at Rustico - Hay Shed Hill.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay and would definitely go again. Would have been good if we could have prepared more than a heating of a microwave meal. We did manage to heat a quiche and make a salad but struggled with a bread knife and no where except the outdoor bathroom to wash hands etc. It would be ideal it there was more of a kitchenette to make use off and more availability to ICE. Shame there isn’t grass in the vacant block in front of the home, very dusty when windy and the gorgeous outdoor furniture very dusty.
- Diane (5/5): Beautiful property, requires breakfast daily, and complimentary transport to affiliated Rustico Haysheed Hill winery, wh - Beautiful room, nice out door patio area to have breakfast in the morning . Good breakfast . We had room 2 which was small yet adequate, other rooms had point of difference, like bath, access to out door area .
Easy check in and out. Location, $50 each way to Margaret River town, nearest area to property for restaurants and bars, wineries etc.
Booked to have degustation and wine pairing meal at affiliated Rústico Hay Shed hill winery, which was 11/10 experience, however the $70 each way taxi fare for a 6 min journey made the experience expensive and disappointing , I did think the property was closer to the winery, or there would be a courtesy shuttle.
The property is Marketed as B& B, we booked Saturday & Sunday night, but only received breakfast on the Sunday morning .
- Irene (9/5): Superb - Absolutely exquisite breakfast bar. Very comfortable - delightful stay.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional - The place and room were gorgeous. Beautiful yard to read and relax in.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
