- Nicole (1/5): - Location First impressions are extremely terrible would highly not recommend this place or the facility, Hard to communicate with host as it is not with the motel. There were stains all over the carpet, bathroom not cleaned, maintenance was lacking light fixtures not in place. Air-conditioning not working and had pedestal fans in place instead. Decided to stay elsewhere.

- Melissa (4/5): - The location was practical and close to faciliies. The bed was fairly comfy The room smelled discusting. This could be from the filthy carpet, dust caked blinds and dirty aircon. On the two occasions I absolutely had to use the aircon it stank. The tv had lines on screen and picture kept disrupting. Advised there was no kettle by property manager and yet there was one that was full of ants. Bathroom smelled of bleach and was over powering. The main blinds roller was broken and unable to open for light in room. Lastly the instructions to locate the locker was inadequate. I advised I was arriving at 9.30pm. The instructions were that the locker was at Rasmussen accountants 10 Nilson stree directly opposite accomadation. Nothing to advise the locker was down the back of the building where it was dark, no lighting and a dirt uneven driveway to lug my baggage over. Unsafe for someone travelling alone. A broken ankle waiting to happen. The card for the room number was not clearly maked and number rubbed to almost non existent. I had to try three possible room choices. I wont book through airtrip again.

- Louise (1/5): DONT STAY HERE - It had hot water in the shower Our room door did not lock. We had to put a chair against it. I messaged the owner about the security problem. They pretended that this was the first they knew and promised to fix it immediately. They did nothing. The cavity the lock goes into was packed with cloth. There is no way they didn’t know. The room itself is stark like a prison cell except the door doesn’t lock. The TV is small.

No milk for coffee. 2 singles pushed together. Advertised as studio apartment. Literally had a bed bar fridge and shower. Will not be returning. If you want to stay at oaks book through them not these privately owned rooms.

The room they gave me had a really strong mould/ old attic smell… I spent 60$ in diffusers trying to make the place smells better and still it was very unpleasant. I ended my stay earlier and the staff simply pretends like there’s nothing wrong with the room so they could keep the money! Do not recommend. Disgusting mould smell! Awful!! I wish I read the reviews! Seriously Avoid!

- Beth (1/5): Extremely dissatisfied - last time using this website - booked this room for 3 nights but could only tolerate staying 1. The place was nothing like advertised – the room was falling apart, with mould on the walls and a terrible smell throughout. There were no light fittings, just exposed bulbs, making the space feel even more uncomfortable. We arrived late at 11pm and had no choice but to stay the first night, but I moved to another hotel the very next day. This was a terrible experience and I would strongly advise others to avoid it.

- Michelle (2/5): Would not stay there again. - Location was ok Unfortunately although we thought we were booking through booking.com we found on arrival that the booking was with another organisation. The reception was unable to help us with anything. We eventually had to cross the road and go down a laneway to a key safe. It took an hour from arriving to get into the apartment. The apartment was hot - no air con on and we were unable to open the balcony door for air as it was locked. The balcony was dirty with broken furniture. The king size bed was so old and uncomfortable it would have been better to sleep on the floor. The cutlery was bent and sporadic. Power points did not work except for the double tv point. Made it difficult to charge phones and laptops.
Overall the room was clean, however requires updating and beware when booking. I wouldnt stay there ag

- Jordan (5/5): 2night stay of inconvenience - The secure parking garage numbers were scrambled and hard to locate specific one, then the room was ok but didn’t have a microwave for reheating food that can be stored in fridge. Also the amount of message correspondence from the booking company was both representative and had to clean out room of all rubbish; if I’d known these particular requirements to stay at this place I’d have booked at Quest on Gordon instead.

Was very basic accommodation for the price - Location The communication was very poor in the arrangements around checking in and obtaining keys to the property. The initial text message was very similar to a scam message and therefore I did not respond. Upon arrival there was then a delay due to the process of the identity check prior to check in. This was very inconvenient and if possible will not use this service again

Leaking air conditioner, room smelt musty, wet carpet, air con dipped large amounts of water onto the carpet and into the bathroom making it dangerous. Requested extra towels and reported issues. No towels until the next day. I have stayed in this same apartment a couple of weeks ago and had the same issue and reported it only to return weeks later to learn nothing had been done about it.

- Rebecca (1/5): Beware of booking this through an odd third party provider. Way over priced for a bed and shower. - Actual property was nice but this booking does not run through the property. Any issues or checking in is through a third party provider Parking. There were only 2 car parks available for the specific third party provider and one was outside the locked carpark. One was in the locked carpark but you cannot get back to the level after you lock your keys in the room. The room was a bed, no desk, microwave on the desk, no utensils, tiny glasses, and no housekeeping.

Air conditioning and fridge so loud ear plugs were required to sleep.

But the building is in a good location. The unit air conditioner stop working 2nd day the room was that hot and to smelly it was gross, I call the contact for the at air travel , Round 12-30. 1pm , sent electrician to look at it , he told hur it’s broken and will take a few days to fix. He told hur the unit can’t be lived in it’s that hot. Then she told me she will get a new room . I called over 8 times to get the run round telling me she has the cleaner still cleaning it , but I could see the room did it have cleaners there at all, then avoiding my calls for hours.
7pm at night I get a Message saying the room is ready I go to the lock box and no keycard then she sends new lock box number once again no key card, 3rd time she called, 7.45pm at night !!
Then she expects me to pack my gear and move.
Who wants to be moving at that stupid hour.
Over 8 hours to get an answer with a room is poor management!!
-Not up mention the toilet seat was loose
-The shower edges is black grim.
- no milk in the fridge
- no plates
-no knives and forks
-the microwave had to be used on the floor
-The mattress separated , like sleeping in a trench big dips in it.
- The bed sheets smelt like smoke
- The fan is full of dust
- Definitely will not book here again.

A third company based in Philippines by the sounds of their accents, wanting uploaded copies of credit cards, Drivers license and headshots of myself. I do not like or agree with this, it's the reason I USED to book with booking.com. For the protection of knowing only a larger company that I rate has all my personal details.
Called booking.com to let them know how unhappy I was with the setup. They could not help apparently. I was going to cancel but is it not amazing that these companies will not give you the key, drobox number or any help unless you supply them all your personal ID and credit cards ALTHOUGH the money for this booking was taken out by booking.com immediately after I booked.???? Unreal
I will never book through these companies again. AIRTRIP or Booking.com.... I would honestly rather pay the higher fees, sometimes, to go direct.

The room was very bland. Barely any decoration at all. The bedside lights didn’t work because the bed knocks out the plugs. The bed is very hard. The toilet is running constantly. The electrical plug on the kitchen bench doesn’t work so couldn’t use kettle. No milk in fridge. The large blind doesn’t go up and down as the chain is dislodged from reel. The cupboard had a plastic bowl and 1 glass. Very poorly stocked. You could get all the items for a few dollars in the op shop.

The room had a very very strong odour best described as a cross between mould, cigarette and bleach. I spoke to staff and they offered to send a cleaner but the room was ok in that a cleaner couldn’t fix the very strong odour. They also then told me the cleaner said it didn’t smell but afterward I read MANY reviews about the stench. Anyways I left the room and didn’t return because I couldn’t open a window, I had to keep the aircon off to stop circulating mould smell, I woke up sick, this plus the TV having a line in it, the bedding being dirty and inadequate (too thin) and the booking process not telling us it’s a 3rd party website they want a selfie, photo of your id and credit card again after already providing them to booking.com. Then you have to get the key in a lock box on the side of an old building across the road, another fact they left off the initial process.

The bathroom was dirty, the toilet seat had piss on the seat, the grim build up in the bathroom and toilet and sick was just discussing.
Do not book here if you are after a hotel experience because this is something like an Airbnb and booking.com should not be doing this.

No direct contact is less than desirable.
Far too many emails from Booking.com and especially yay too many emails from Airtrip. Approx 8 emails from Airtrip. On my day of checking out, I spoke to the person on reception about how to check out and where to leave the keycard. She confirmed that I had booked through Airtrip. Then told me to leave the card with her, she would pass it on to the cleaners.
I had travelled all day after checking out. Then I received texts and a voicemail with no message, plus an email stating they couldn’t find the keycard.
I advised them. It worked out.
Then I poured through the emails for any reference to checking out.
I found a small reference at the bottom of one very very long email.
If I had one feedback item;
Make it simpler if you intend to continue with booking via two entities.
One entity to deal with is more than enough.

- Jean (3/5): TERRIBLE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE EVER. - there was a view of the water the car park key access did not work, the only way i got in was the people that own the building let me in. they said they are not responsible for anything that happens in those rooms. the room smelt terrible. as soon as i opened the door i was taken aback. it smelled like musty carpet. i could not open the window it was locked and there was no key to open the window at all. i went the local shopping centre to buy room spray to try and make it better. i can provide receipts. the iron was not usable, i have already sent a detailed complaint along with pictures to the person that i was dealing with. i did not stay more than one night as the room smelt so bad. i was there for a funeral needed to iron my clothing, and the iron was so badly stained on the base, it left a mark on my clothing, and was unusable. pictures can be provided. i was unable to use the iron at all.

- Kerry (1/5): DON'T USE THEM - Rooms not ready on arrival at 4.30pm. No keys were available no codes or information received still to this date a week later (we are home now) - no response from online/Hidden staff who did not get back within any sort of reasonable time.
We were in Mackay for a family funeral with our 84yo mother who struggles to walk. We had to book & pay for accommodation elsewhere, as we still did not have access to our rooms. It turned out someone was in 1 of our 3 rooms & the next day when keys were made available- room had been occupied (by a Timothy)( I was sent his sign in link ) so now day 2 & 1 room has bed slept in , (the other 2 rooms were ok).
The women had to use 1 room to get ready for the funeral (@10am) as a lady Fiona was desperately trying to clean our room after 10am.
Absolutely DONT USE Airtrip

Had to call to get the correct locker no., to get the keys to the room. The room was not cleaned properly. There was dust everywhere- in the shelves, microwave top, the table etc. Also found long hair in the bath drawer. Being allergic to dust, requested to change the room. Was told that there will be an additional cleaning cost for the new room. I did not accept being charged again for a second room and had no option but to agree and wait for the room being cleaned again. I would have not asked to be moved to another room, if the room allotted was cleaned properly.

- Anita (6/5): Disappointing check-in... - The room was clean and had nice views of the river. Disappointing check in. External to Booking.com, additional credit card details are required to be provided for damages. This also includes identity verification of your driver's licence. I had difficulties uploading my licence details using the SuperHog software, as the camera function was blocked on my phone. No other alternatives were provided. Failure to make this work, meant that full booking cancellation fees were going to be charged.
In addition to that, it is very clear that Oaks does not associate with this company which is stated on messages taped all over the entrance and elevator. And after all that the key card provided didn't work and needed to be redone.

- James (1/5): very disappointed for what I paid air lift are a partner booking. com should drop - the only ring I liked was the location it. was advertised with cooking facilities all it had was a microwave 2 forks 2 knives 2 teaspoons and the sink to wash up in was the shower sink no laundry facilities I was there for 4 weeks never had my room done once same sheets and towels some how I booked with booking.com who I paid for the stay but it was actually with air lift stay away from this mob they are in a 3rd world country and that’s the service they provide I won’t use booking .com again while there afiliated with air lift and I’ve been using them for 20 years and the motel staff don’t want to know about them

- Timothy (4/5): Not happy give Airtrip a skip - Comfortable bed, good layout of room, close to good restaurants. That our key was not in key locker, and that various calls were not answered. So we drove back to our empty house that removalist had just finished at 6.30pm. Someone finally rang us back, returned to get a "keycard" from reception, no one there so waited a further 45 mins. It was raining, long hard day and now we had to rush to get to dinner before kitchens closed. Not happy Jan. And I'm not sure the room was cleaned properly since last visitor. Toiler was not clean and the room smelt...think it was a problem with bathroom.
- Janet (6/5): Location good, room size good clean, in need of attention for Maintenace however, - Location good, bed, pillows, blanket, kettle, micro, fridge and A/C good, hot water for shower good, dark curtains good . Would have liked large curtain to work up and down-no covers over lights in ceiling, all power points to work. Would have been nice for housekeeper to visit to vacuum, clean bathroom and change bed linen at least once over 12 days, no clean linen even supplied. No-one replaced tea/coffee or soap.
Unsafe kettle and hairdryer illegal not to be tested since 2020, in room phone for emergency did not connect, no fire alarm in room 8 stories up.
I have infact just yesterday again wrote to you stating these things.

I had no bath towels in the apartment for the first day and night of my stay. For some reason they have charged my personal card over $221 deposits, even though it was paid in full upon booking, which I am chasing now.

- Amber (7/5): Rooms - Location. Right next to the shopping centre. The first room was very untidy and dirty. We were moved to another room it was better but beds very uncomfortable. Especially staying for a week or just over a week. Rooms should be more comfortable for the stay.
- Sarah (1/5): don’t even bother staying at this hotel xx save your money - absolutely nothing The room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 3pm. The cleaners quickly rushed it in 5 minutes and only changed the bed sheets and the towels. nothing else was cleaned. the floor was covered in long black hair and the bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in a long time. the shower was absolutely filthy you could see my finger mark when I rubbed it on the glass. the staff were so rude and absolutely horrible to deal with leaving us with fake promises that another room was available to us which wasn’t and that cleaners would be there in the morning to fix it up for us and we were also promised a refund for one night which no one has mentioned anything to us since. it was an absolutely horrible experience staying here and I would have preferred to stay at a $50 motor inn rather then spending $300 to stay in an unhygienic room.

- Stephanie (2/5): Disappointed with my Airtrip Experience - Just a quick walk to all the necessary places. Apparently I booked through Airtrip and didn’t realise, I thought I had book through booking.com. Disappointed to say the least. If you want the best accommodation book through the Oaks I have stayed with the Oaks several times with no dramas and friendly service…the minute I booked with Airtrip to standing in the room the room there were nothing but dramas and I assure you that Airtrip does not represent the kind hospitality or standards of the Oaks rooms/accommodation experience. Unfortunately the Oaks have nothing to do with room booked through Airtrip but it really does not represent there accommodation well. Airtrip do not value there customers and it wasn’t worth the money I paid.

Com as it is a one stop process. Airtrip makes the whole process riskier with a 3rd party website and vetting process. It also leaves you high and dry if something is not right.
I had no towels in my room and all i could do was text Airtrip to let them know but no one was available to rectify the lack of towels.

- Chelsea (5/5): Passable - Shower has excellent pressure and temperature. Great location within walking distance to restaurants, shopping centres and lagoon.
Check in instructions were very clear and precise, easily able to follow to find apartment. The bed was very uncomfortable and I could feel the join in the middle. The blankets weren’t very warm and we’re not covered. There was also no extra blanket big enough for warmth.
The TV was very small and unable to be moved from wall.
- Rhiannon (3/5): Avoid at all costs! - Location was excellent. Oaks staff were pleasant. This booking was not through Oaks. It was a private residence rented out though Air Trip. Air Trip is an absolute debacle and Booking.Com would be worth there while removing any links with their rooms. In short.
-No check in email received despite numerous calls. Hence we couldn’t find the key lock box for check in.
-Booking total was $470 but for reasons unknown we were charged $500.
-Shower was filthy.
-Missing light fitting
-Shaving whisker remnants on the sink.
-Lights missing bulbs
-Used dirty lingerie behind the microwave.
-Rubbish under the bed and under the sink.
-Blinds didn’t work
-Emailed issues but no response from the company.
-No access to free wifi as we weren’t given password.
