I booked this place thinking I was getting a good deal based on the price listed. Turns out, that price was completely misleading. By the time all the hidden fees and extra charges were added, I ended up paying way more than expected. If I had known the actual cost, I would have booked literally anywhere else.
On top of that, the whole experience was just awful. The staff were unhelpful, the room was nothing like the photos, and everything felt dirty and poorly maintained. It was easily one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed.
Booking.com should do better and stop allowing deceptive pricing like this!
- Boniface (5/5): Disappointing - Asked to deposit $1000 which I have to paid list I forfeit my booking fee which was already deducted from my card and I noticed this one day to check-in, considering the total amount of the booking was $1024. Surcharge of $31 for credit card, photo ID and selfie, When I arrived the suburb, they will not give me the address of the house until I provide then with the number of guest which I provided during booking, three emergency contact numbers despite my explanation that it was a family event and that I came with my family.
This was around 9pm on the street in Brisbane. She eventually gave us the address of the house and access key when she was given two emergency contact the the stated conditions just when I started exploring the option of looking for another hotel to book for my family and me that night. I felt disappointed that after I paid $1024 for three nights and $1000 deposit plus credit card surcharge plus the photo ID and credit card details that I could be subjected to this.
With over 10 years of using booking.com and staying in various accommodations over the country, I have never been ask for such conditions or go through such.

- Dane (10/5): We had a great stay at Annerly. Thank you - The house is spacious and open. So much more comfortable than a hotel style room and with all the amenities as home.
- Anderson (8/5): Very good - Main shower hardly any water
- Michelle (5/5): The house and location was good but the experience of staying there was very stressful. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend it. - The house itself was really lovely. Communication from the property owners was very confusing and proving our identity was complicated and had a hidden fee of around $34. As they wouldn’t provide the actual address (house number etc) even 24 hours before our stay as they said they would, we were wondering if the property actually existed, which caused a great amount of stress. We eventually got the address only by calling, again, on the morning of check in. It was also not disclosed until that morning that the property owners live on the property, in the house! Yes, it was a separate entry and we never saw them but we could certainly hear them, (their tv, chatting, cooking etc) clearly, throughout the house and especially in the downstairs bedroom which shares a thin wall with their quarters. Our family member who slept in that room was kept awake into the late hours.
I would like to say too that Booking.com itself was absolutely of no help to us. There is no way of contacting them directly.
