• Katherine (10/5): - Such a beautiful place, all the final touches and details! The only very small dislike was with the fan in the bathroom connected to the light switch. Understand why it is connected, but the fan is rather loud.

• George (10/5): Rob and Bridget were the ultimate hosts, nothing was too much effort and it was apparent our hosts take great pride in t - Cottage D’Or far exceeded our expectations, my wife and I expected “good” but we got “superb”. The Cottage itself was warm and inviting, beautifully decorated, meticulously clean and fully furnished with quality beds and Sheridan towels and linen. The kitchen was fully equipped and there were all appliances that you would have in your own home so staying there was easy. Absolutely nothing!

A generous welcome hamper, toiletries, dressing gowns… The cottage is fully equipped with tasteful decor & crockery, and a short walk to the city centre.
• Liarne (10/5): Fantastic, would stay again! - What's not to like? Cottage D'Or is your home away from home! A lovely cottage to relax by yourself like I did, with a partner, with friends or even a small family. From the striking curbside appeal with the cottage being a lovely blue with the bright yellow door & smart lock with your name on it then once you enter the loungeroom already has either cooling or heating started, ambient music playing on the TV and the air smells minty & fresh (I'm so buying some of those Koala Eco sprays!) It's a small one bedroom house but there is room enough for up to four people as there's a three seater sofa bed lounge & extra seat. The main bed is like a tall MARSHMALLOW of soft Sheridan bedding (very luxe). You are then welcomed with a wine & snacks basket, some tasty bread & spreads for an easy toast breakfast and there's even some juices & waters and milks included in the fridge and a coffee pod machine and a large selection of Twinnings teas to choose from. Full kitchen has plenty of very pretty looking dinnerware & accessories to cook a full meal. Dishwasher to use for a quick clean up is a bonus. Bathroom is great, the shower is heavenly and large for us more fluffy beings! And more Sheridan towels, very bougie! Also love the included amenities of mini grooming kits, shower caps & makeup wipes and I've been converted to buying a Dyson hair dryer now after using the one included! The location is great to take a walk or a quick drive or taxi ride where you need to go as it's still fairly quiet & not too far from the CBD of Ballarat Central. Uber Eats people can find it easily too if you specify blue house with yellow door! TV has so many free to air channels but you need to have your own streaming accounts for the apps unfortunately. The internet worked well on my phone & ipad. The courtyard would have been nice to sit in if it wasn't raining during most of my stay. IT WAS FANTASTIC and I couldn't stay longer! 😞

• Andrea (10/5): Cottage D'Or is a hidden gem in the heart of Ballarat with everything you need for a wonderful stay. - Location was perfect for easy access to shops, restaurants, and the other highlights of Ballarat. Our hosts were in regular communication ensuring the best possible stay was being experienced. That we were only staying 2 nights and not longer!
• Abi (10/5): The BEST stay we've had. - This stay was absolutely one of the best. We travel pretty frequently, and are former Ballarat locals just in town for a wedding. Cottage D'Or was clean, cozy, beautifully appointed and we sincerely loved our stay. The hosts were fantastic at extending our stay by another night when asked. The welcome basket was such a kind touch and very well received after a 4hr trip in the car. Nothing to improve on. 10/10, no notes!

• Holly (10/5): Cozy and comfortable, and in a great location! - Cottage D’Or was an amazing place to stay during our trip to Ballarat - the cottage is very well equipped with anything you might need during your stay, the decor and furnishings are beautiful, the fireplace made the cottage lovely and cozy, and there were so many thoughtful extras! The cottage is very central, and is only a short walk to town and a short drive to many of Ballarat’s attractions (Sovereign Hill is only about 3mins drive away). The private courtyard is gorgeous, and our toddler and baby loved having lots of space in the house to explore after having spent the few nights prior in smaller hotel rooms. Thanks for a lovely stay! Nothing
• Charles (10/5): We loved the location and the property. Hope to return next year. - This is a perfect place for a holiday stay. We stayed here a year ago for the annual Ballarat Organ Festival and loved it, so we were delighted to be able to book it again. The property is the perfect size, well designed, very well furnished, with a truly agreeable lounge, a kitchen and dining space, and a very comfortable bed in the bedroom. A lot of thought and care has gone into this place. The supplies for brekky and the staples if you want to cook are excellent. There is a full suite of good pots and pans, plenty of plates and cutlery, and the oven and induction cooker are excellent. Hard to think of anything. Maybe more towel rails to dry the very good Sheridan towels.

We could not fault a thing - the furnishings, amenities, cleanliness, location, communication with the host, and the lovely welcome gift topped it off - was all 5-star. That we couldn't stay longer!

The basket of goodies was also a very pleasant surprise. Fantastic communication from the host. Will definitely book again when visiting Ballarat. There was nothing I didn’t like.

There is great attention to detail and lots of beautiful features. The outside courtyard is beautiful. Rob was amazing. Communicated clearly and nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted with a beautiful loaf of bread, jams, tea, water, juices, biscuits and a lovely hamper with wine and chocolate. They went above and beyond. The rooms were gorgeous. Spacious bathroom with make up wipes, shampoo, conditioner, soap. Car space out the back. Close to theatre and the main street. We absolutely loved our stay. We’d both definitely go back and I highly recommend this property. Nothing. It was absolutely fabulous 10/10

Nice and cosy clean accomodation with all the necessities and amenities. Lovely little courtyard and ample parking outside the property. Robert was very accommodating. Unfortunately had to leave a day earlier than planned so will definitely return. Was a little cold but that’s part of visiting in winter and to be expected.

• Derek (10/5): Very enjoyable stay for our family at Cottage D'Or - My family of four had an enjoyable 3-night stay at this charming cottage. It’s beautifully and tastefully furnished with a well stocked kitchen and supplies. Access is simple and convenient. The pot belly stove was a great way to heat the cottage in the middle of a chilly Ballarat winter. Worth noting, there’s more firewood outside at the back. I only discovered this after going out to buy some more from the service station. It’s conveniently located right on the edge of town, with a shopping strip and both a Woolies and Coles within a short walk. Rob was a great host. Very friendly and quick to respond.

Well stocked with food and drink, detergents etc. Bathroom would benefit with light over mirror. An additional mirror (only mirror is in the bathroom) would also be beneficial

Wonderful location walking distance to coffee shops, cafes and shops. Excellent responsiveness from owner and property manager when couple of small issues arose. Anita, the property manager is delightful. Gave us tips re best places to eat and shop. So close to interesting Sovereign Hill. Wonderful few days. Nothing.
• Charles (10/5): We had a great time. This would be our first choice any time we're in Ballarat. - The property is a delight. It's handy to the city centre. The food provisions were excellent. Above all, the cottage is a truly pleasant and comfortable place to stay. The rooms are all nicely decorated. Plenty of hangers. Even the nice large clock, a feature of the sitting room, actually works! The facilities were all fine. The kitchen is complete and so are the laundry facilities. There's very little we didn't like. There might be a bit more dishes, pots and pans, etc., in the kitchen. But really everything is great.
