Guest Reviews

Me senti em casa… nada

- Lucas (9/5): Perfect stay in Jardin - The house is beautiful, it has a lot of charm & colors. We liked the location, a bit "far" from the city center 15/20min walking but it's much more peaceful.
We had a shared bathroom but we were pretty much the only ones to use so it was great.
Everything was very clean & the kitchen was well equipped. Nothing, all good.

- Christian E (7/5): -

- Burr (7/5): A bit too far out from town, but very helpful owner - The host speaks great English, and Spanish of course, is very fast to respond and has lots of superb information about everything in the area. Where to make good walks, how to get to cueva del esplendedor, phone number to get a good driver, where to do paragliding, restaurants, where to get laundry service. That’s perfect!
The room we had was quite large, and the communal kitchen was good. You can drink right from the tap. The problem is the location.
The place is a fifteen minutes uphill walk, which would be nice if we got nice views for the effort, but there’s none from the house. We didn’t have windows, and there’s no veranda to sit on.
WiFi isn’t very good.
There’s usually no owner or staff around. It’s actually just a house with rooms being rent out. Sometimes you get to share with other guests, sometimes not. There is no good communal area. Most other rooms look quite small, although ours was big.
- Terry (10/5): A great experience to spend time with Carolina. - Carolina is a fantastic host. She can speaks good English so she’s a great teacher. Her home is a delight to stay at.
- Vicky (10/5): Excellent place to stay in Jardin - Great accommodation 10 minutes walk from centre. Well-sized, clean, very helpful host. Excellent value for money too. Nothing.
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional - Hospitality and cleanliness. Camilo was a great host.
- Sykes (9/5): Pretty Hostel - Close to town with a rural vibe - This property is located a short distance out of town on an unpaved road so a tuk-tuk is useful if it's raining or you have heavy luggage. The walk to and from town was otherwise enjoyable.
Camilo was extremely helpful with information or anything else we required. We appreciated the use of the kitchen for a couple of our meals. The beds were comfortable and the shower was adequate. There is a lot of noise transfer between the rooms, kitchen, upstairs neighbours etc. If other rooms are occupied then you're likely to hear each other. It wasn't a huge issue at the time we stayed but I could see how it could get annoying under some circumstances.
- Floor (9/5): Superb - We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet, the house was decorated beautifully and with a fully equiped kitchen. Thank you Camilo!
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guy (7/5): Quiet spot out of town - Nice location slightly out of town so much quieter at night. Camilo was really helpful and provided a good list of local attractions and food options.
There are bushes outside the front that are full of birds so it’s quite fun sitting watching them. There is a kitchen and washing machine. The room and bed was comfortable. Good for a short stay. We stayed in the quadruple room with private bathroom which is at the back if the property. Unfortunately the room didn’t have much ventilation and stayed quite damp, we couldn’t get our towels dry in the room/bathroom at all and although there is a drying area for laundry in the little courtyard if other guests have recently checked out then this is being used to dry their bedding and even this area doesn’t get direct sun so things dry slowly. Not a problem if you’re only there for a couple of nights but we stayed for 4 and struggled a bit once we noticed things were staying damp. Maybe putting a fly screen across the small window at the back of the room so this could be left open without mosquitoes getting in and providing an electric fan to get some air movement might help. Or more places to hang and dry towels etc.
- Mateusz (7/5): Nice accommodation on trail to cable car - The owner is very helpful and gives a lot of tips. Room and toilet was very small. You can feel very unsave during taking shower.
- Jacoba (8/5): Very good - Only disadvantage is that you have to walk 15 minutes to the center, at night a bit of a dark place
- Benjamin (10/5): I would recommend to anyone staying in Jardín. Camilo is an excellent host and makes sure you have everything you need a - Property was very well equipped and clean, had a communal area to prepare food and also area for washing. Great location just out of the centre of Jardin
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (7/5): Keep looking, this place is nice but not as nice as the ratings indicate. - The house is clean well kept and pleasant to view. Camilo who is the front man for the host is it pleasant fellow. The house is situated well up an uneven and unpaved road which was not disclosed in the listing and poses an accessibility problem for some people who might be walking there. In addition the kitchen is very poorly equipped, lacking utensils and essentials and is effectively not usable for short-term stays. The owner lives upstairs and keeps several dogs that are quite miserable with their constant barking at everything that moves. And finally the bed in our room was worn to the point of uselessness and we had to seek a replacement following a terrible night's sleep.
- Chimfree (10/5): Tranquil little gem close to nature and town - Everything, Camilo was very welcoming, the facilities were clean and bed comfortable. The area is very quiet and close to nature The room was small, but that's ok given the price.
- Yan (10/5): Fantastic! - Camilo was a great host! We had a great stay, highly recommended!
- Glynis (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location close to the town center but also close to nature. Camilo was very helpful and communicative throughout. Highly recommend!
- Eloise (8/5): Very good - A super pretty house with lots of equipment in the kitchen. The location was great and super safe walking back even after dark. It was so well lit all the way - better than we have back at home The bed was much smaller than anticipated. It looked much bigger in the picture and was quite uncomfortable for 2.
- Matej (10/5): Perfect base to explore Jardin and its surroundings - A small hostel that's really nicely furnished with everything you need (plus an ingenious system for drying laundry). Great host that helped organizing our whole stay in the city with useful information. The photos gave us the impression that the rooms are more spacious. But don't let that stop you from booking - we enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again.
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional - This was the perfect basecamp for 2 couples exploring Jardin and surrounding Finca! Clean, comfortable room with kitchen and laundry service. About a 10 minute walk from the main square. It's very quiet at night and Camilo is such a kind and welcoming host.
- Michel (9/5): Superb - Use of the kitchen and the washing machine.
Camilo was very helpful and gave us a lot of information.
Located just outside of the center. Close to some nice hikes. Our room was ok with a window but other rooms don't.
The dog of the house was barking all the time.
- Agnieszka (10/5): Recommended - Beautiful rustic accommodation 12 min walk from the center. Friendly owner will provide you all the information you need and help anytime you need. Our children loved the garden and hammocks. Shared kitchen and option to do laundry were very useful. Nothing - only one minor improvement: a kettle could be there to boil the water for tea.
- Jan (10/5): Loved our stay and Jardín. - Excellent stay, comfortable room small (nice) walking distance from the center. Owner is always available for questions and provides all information you need (also in English to make it easier.
- Matti (9/5): Superb -
- Jean (10/5): Fantastic Stay - Camilo is an exceptional and kind host and provided excellent information on hikes, places to eat, transportation; anything you needed. The location, just out of town, was lovely as was quiet with easy access to lovely walks. The home is beautifully decorated with free access to laundry and a great kitchen. Fantastic stay.
- Ylenia (9/5): Good place for one night while visiting Jardin - The house was clean. Host is kind and friendly. Hammocks are great The budget room is a bit small for two people. The parking is at an extra fee.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - comfy and cute room, great value, use of kitchen, and Camilo was friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful stay here (and even tried to return the next week, but it was booked)
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Giorgio (10/5): Casa de las Rocas made our stay in Jardín memorable and comfortable. - La Casa de las Rocas is a hidden gem within a short stroll from the heart of Jardín. It has all the amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. If you’re seeking peace and connection to nature, the location is fantastic. The host, Camilo, has an impressive knowledge of Jardín its surroundings. A big thank you for all the suggestions!
- Guy (10/5): We loved our stay! - Camilo and Luisa are fantastic hosts! They really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, offering advice about things to do in the town, helping you with laundry, even making some soup for my wife who was unwell. Extremely nice people and an extremely calm and lovely accommodation, with a shared kitchen, living room and front garden area with hammock to watch the hummingbirds ! Highly recommend. Nothing.
- Kyron (10/5): Exceptional - I really enjoyed my stay at Casa de las Rocas Hostel.
While the location was a bit off the beaten path, the walk to the hostel on the outskirts of the town was idyllic. Camilo, the owner/host, couldn't have been more accommodating. He ordered taxis, gave me a ride on his moto, and even offered me a delicious piece of cake. Whenever I had questions about the town (where to go/what to do), he was just readily available. Glad to have a new friend in Jardin. I would stay here again for sure!
- Laurie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynne (9/5): Super welcoming host, lovely home in a gorgeous village, excellent value for money - Super helpful, friendly and welcoming host Camilo. Characterful home in a gorgeous village. Comfortable bed and pillows. The use of the kitchen and washing machine if needed was a bonus. Shared bathroom was compact but clean, and had warm water. The home is located a decent walk uphill from town along a dirt or pebbles pathway, poorly lit at night. If you arrive after dark, or with luggage or kids, or have mobility issues, best to get a tuktuk to take you there.
