• Olesya (10/5): Лучшее место на солончаке Уюни - Отличный отель! Для этого места очень даже приличный. Я его нашла по рекомендации гида Мишлен. Отель расположен на солончаке Уюни, из окон открывается вид на солончак. Очень ухоженный, чистый, есть много зон для отдыха, прекрасная кухня, отзывчивый персонал. Мы жили отдельном домике- тенте с панорамным видом на солончак. От отеля был организован бесплатный трансфер из аэропорта. А так же индивидуальная экскурсия на солончак. Экскурсия была отличная, рассчитана на целый день, в программе была встреча заката и романтичный ужин на солончаке. Остались самые позитивные впечатления.

• Rochelle (1/5): - The view from the spa, massage, location & it was not busy. 1. On my arrival, I ate from the a la carte menu. I thought the meat tasted a bit strange and the burger bun was burnt. The food is not great & I ended up suffering from terrible food poisoning for 3 days because their burger meat was overdue! The restaurant staff are very slow and not polite. 2. The games' room facilities are terrible! Broken equipment, filthy playing surfaces, inability to play games because there is no equipment or it is inaccessible 3. Hotel location is great, but in the evenings it is not great for viewing the stars as all the hotel lights are on bright with all the curtains open and all shining outside. There are 2x salt hotels by the main road. I stayed there 1 night and the outdoor viewing from there was much better & it was about 10x times cheaper. :) 4. Four massive noisy big black flies in my bedroom on arrival. The reception staff didn't have insect spray so I was given bed bug spray to kill the flies, which required nearly the whole can! 5. I nearly collapsed in the sauna. The staff are not trained to set the sauna/steam room temperatures. It was so high, I overheated, couldn't breathe, felt dizzy but then I struggled to leave as I could not see anything in all the steam and everything was too slippery to hold on to. 6. The en-suite showers were lovely, but again I nearly slipped on the tiles as they are very slippery when wet. Mats in the bedroom also are slippery on the tiles. 7. The air conditioner in the bedroom is loud and had to be turned off when I wanted to sleep.
• Iris ying (7/5): The hotel feels closer to a three-star standard. - The staff were nice, but most of them didn’t speak English。There weren’t many breakfast options, but it was fine considering the place is in the middle of vast salt marsh. 1.The shower temperature could not be properly regulated—it was either too hot or completely cold. After maintenance, it became barely usable, but the water pressure was very low and the water could not be turned off, so four people had to shower one after another. (Two-bedroom suite with only one bathroom.) 2.The master bedroom has two east-facing windows with only sheer curtains and no blackout curtains. With sunrise at 5:37 a.m. at this high-altitude location, the staff tried their best and eventually hung rugs from the bedroom over the window and even sprayed them with disinfectant. This was not an ideal solution, but it allowed us to get through the night.

We got the suite room. The room is great, but the queen bed was hard to the point that we can feel the spring while laying down.

• Sarah (7/5): - The location on the hill overlooking the salt flat is beautiful, easy access for tours in the morning. Staff are all really friendly and working hard for the guests. The place is clearly understaffed, it takes ages to get drinks and you can see them literally running for supplies with only one person on the bar. Breakfast is pretty dismal, all of the bread/pastry is very stale and hard. Only meat option is cold sliced ham. We have stayed at very much cheaper places that have put out a better spread. Overall, you pay a lot of money to stay but it doesn't feel like it.

• Birgit (10/5): - The quiet location outside (the very ugly town) of Uyuni. The beautiful, sweeping view over the vast salt lake. The very professional massage in a relaxing atmosphere. The very varied and consistently delicious dinner buffet. The breakfast buffet was also above average for Bolivian standards. The room (Superior) was spacious and had large windows overlooking the salt lake. The heater / air-conditioning in the room worked properly. Many cosy seating areas (with fireplaces) in the hotel with views of the salt lake. In the shower (which was otherwise fine), the water did not drain properly. Some areas (in the room, on the terrace, in the hotel) seemed to be in need of renovation, e.g. the area under the air conditioning unit, the grouting in the bathroom and the exterior of the hotel.

Bei Ankunft um 10:00 wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass die Zimmer immer erst um 15:00 verfügbar sind. Erst im Restaurant gegen 14:00, als wir um die Zimmernummer zum Bezahlen gebeten wurden, erhielt der Kellner auf Nachfrage die Zimmernummer. Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass das Hotel überhaupt nicht ausgebucht war und uns durchaus früher ein Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt werden könnte. Bei den Preisen sollte man dies erwarten. Großer Minuspunkt!

• Aleksandr (6/5): Very strange and puzzling experience - On one hand: + the hotel is beautiful and comfortable — the décor is lovely, the common areas are stunning, the spa is great with very friendly staff, the buffet food was delicious, and the terrace is fantastic. + The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, beautiful views from the windows, bathrobes, slippers, clean sheets and towels. + There’s also a cool game room, where we spent a lot of time. Everything looked perfect at first glance. However: - the front desk staff were very confusing. It felt like either they spoke poor English or were intentionally trying to confuse guests — neither option is good. For example: 1) When we arrived, we asked about dinner and were told it cost $2 per person. Later, it turned out to be $30–35 per person without drinks, which is very expensive for Bolivia. (The restaurant staff themselves were excellent, friendly, and definitely earned their tips.) Ok, I thought, maybe both of us (my husband and I) did’t hear the price clearly… 🤦🏼‍♀️ 2) The next day, I asked the front desk what time the spa opened. They said it wouldn’t open until evening. Later that morning, I passed by and it was already open with guests inside — very strange. Because of what the front desk told me, I didn’t get a chance to visit the spa that day, even though I really wanted to. 3) We pre-booked a taxi for 12 PM, and the front desk confirmed it twice. At 11:55 AM, a receptionist came up and asked if it could be at 1 PM instead. We said “NO, we have bus tickets, we need to hurry up”. In the end, we left at 12:10 PM in a car that looked like it was for tours rather than a regular taxi. Luckily, everything worked out, but the whole situation felt very disorganized. Other issues: - the hotel taxi was charged per person, not per car, which felt unreasonable since we paid $20 each (40$) instead of $20 total. When we took taxi from Uyuni to the hotel it was only $20 for two of us. - The in-room shower in “deluxe” was terrible — the water pressure was unpleasant and felt like a harsh massage, and after 10 PM the hot water almost disappeared. - The lounge, where you could order pizza, burgers, and other items, was disappointing — the pizza was awful, we couldn’t even eat it. In summary, this was a really strange experience. A night cost nearly $300, and we specifically wanted a luxury hotel near the salt flats.

Not a good feeling - The place, the rooms, everything is physical like the hotel structure, the terrace and its view of the salt desert The feeling and the hospitality. Absolute poor value for money. Our reservation was lost, and after 20 minutes of waiting, finally we discovered that the problem was simply that the reservation had to be paid (this was the Booking policy). After that, we were invited to have a fast-dinner in the bar of the hotel, but no staff or staff coming back and forth form the restaurant, 40 minutes to have a pizza, with 2 guests in total in the bar). The day of departure, a shared taxi to Uyuni was booked at a super price....we suggest other travellers, to inform themselves in advance to have a private taxi at a very lower rate

• Carlotes (8/5): Really good Hotel - Everything was almost great we enjoyed the place and the hot spots and the pool The breakfast time should be extended at least until 10:30am since this is a vacation and travel hotel, we got surprised that the breakfast time was only until 9:30am and we have experience many other 4/5 stars hotels with longer breakfast time even until 11am.
• Matt (5/5): Nice facilities but freezing cold - Beds were comfortable and the shower was warm. Room was nice. You have control of the heater in your room so that was great. The hallways and game room were freezing cold (June visit) which really impacted our desire to ever leave the room. Additionally, while they had heaters in the bar and dining room, they were not sufficient such that everyone had to wear coats while eating. Last, we had a strange sink that emptied really slowly and had some sort of block over the drain. Food was just okay.

Common spaces were plentiful on the hotel and created a great environment. Food is expensive but quality is only average. For the price should deliver a more exceptional dining experience.

Our driver Javier took exceptional photos at salt flats, big thanks to him and David at the restaurant was very welcoming and ensure we had vegetarian meals available. Star gazing from the hotel terrace was amazing. Reception desk could be more flexible with check in and check out times.

Personal (wellcome office) arrogant & rude Never see that in kind of Luxury hôtel 1) We had to wait 1 hour to get our room when we arrived at 8 pm ! We réserved a room with view on lake at 270 $ but they wanted to give us a standard room and without any view. We had to argue and they first offered a room with view on parking !!!! They treated us as liars when we had the proof of our réservation with view on lake. One of réceptionnist dared to tell us we didnt pay the room when we did it and we had to wait in corridor After 1 hour, they finished by giving us the right room without any apologies We asked them for a commercial effort but they didnt mind to do it. 2) Personal came into our room for cleaning it at 10.30 am before our leaving hour 3) Access road is super complicated by night

• Jennym11 (10/5): Perfect place to visit the salar before heading out into the countryside. - The hotel really is made of salt bricks with salt floors in the public areas. I loved the nooks surrounding the perimeter of the building, lots of quirky places to sit (hammocks, sofas, beds) and relax with log fires. The room was very spacious and the food was good. The massage was brilliant. Nothing!

• Jennym11 (10/5): The salt hotel - The hotel was built from salt bricks. The welcome was perfect and I booked a massage at check in (very good Holistic massage). The room was big. There was a lounge with comfortable seating, hammocks and fires, very cosy. The food was also good and being 30 mins drive onto the salar, perfect. I stayed for 2 days solo before joining a group tour of southern Bolivia. Only a minor thing, there was nowhere to hang clothes.
• Fernanda (5/5): Passable - If you want to stay isolated and close to the salt desert it´s one of the best locations, as Luna Salada is on top of some rocks having a wonderful view. However, your will be isolated and depend a lot and do all the meals at hotel. Everything is overpriced and charged in dollars. When we arrived there was no warm welcome at all. That particular recepcionist could be more kind. We asked for information about the tours, she could not inform us and asked us to wait as she had to do another check in... first bad impression. We had more situations with the same recepcionist. We stayed 3 nights but could do only 1 day of tours. We insisted, but they didnt´ have any other options of tours. The transfer to the airport costed 3x more than the transfer when we arrived in a regular taxi. They've charged full price for 2 kids of 5 years old. The room had a very very small window. Not recomended for the price payed. When we booked it there was the only option left, so be alert if there is only this type of room left.

• Michelle (8/5): First time in Uyuni/ Colchani - Location is simply amazing, overlooking the Salar of Uyuni. Hotel decoration was rustic and beautiful. The lounge bar is quite nice and am added touch to overlook the Salar during sunsets. Bed is not necessarily comfortable. There was no flexibility for an earlier check in, even though rooms were available.

Good sleep breakfast with good variety and nice view The check-in jouney is unhappy. The staff is rude and not helpful. He did not active listen and provide support. No hot water in shower. Despite they came to fix it but it lost our quality time. after fix, the shower water is luke warm and weak. It just better that cold shower. Howver, its the worse shower experience in our journey
• Rob (3/5): Poorly maintained and badly staffed, a disappointment - Great fireplaces and cool private fireside conversation pits throughout Poorly maintained and ill-staffed, particularly at front desk but also in spa, restaurant etc. One great waiter Fernando and a nice bartender but the rest of management and staff couldn’t care less. Sauna and steam room were inoperative and jacuzzi only lukewarm. Breakfast is a rushed affair with indifferent food and poor service (except for Fernando ). The hotel looks cool on the surface but really is not good at all
• Rick (10/5): Best hotel in the salt flats! - This hotels is one of the best I’ve ever stayed at, how many hotels have you stayed at that you can eat! Perched on a small hill overlooking the world’s largest salt flat, and after the full day trip of the salt flats your the first to be dropped off at your hotel as its right on the edge of the salt flats, rooms are so warm and comfortable, with hot showers, this place is perfect! The only thing we didn’t like was the breakfast, just not many options for cereals or fruits, and the bread is so crumbly, it’s a really basic breakfast. The lunch and dinners are really good though!

The hotel is isolated from the Uyuni village, so you will not have other comfortable options rather than using their services, especially for lunch and dinner. But keep attention on what you eat there because this could ruin your experience. After having spent the whole day there my wife felt very bad during the night (vomit and diarrhoea) and unfortunately we have experienced zero comprehension by the manager, no apology and no gesture to say sorry or alleviate our bad experience. She does not care about guests. Due to the high quality of hotel they pretend to be I would have expected at least a minimum level of sensibility. NB: THIS IS NOT THE FIRST REVIEW ABOUT THIS TOPIC!!!
• Michele (10/5): One of a kind experience - It was a one of a kind hotel in the middle of nowhere built from salt blocks. The interior was very tastefully decorated with small alcoves along a long corridor with big log heaters. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Lovely view all around. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

Owner not really thinking how to provide amazing service. - After 4 days in the national park we decided to treat ourselves with a stay at Luna and enjoy their spa facilities. Unfortunately after we arrived we discovered the facilities are closed for the day and none bothered to communicate with us. My wife had a massage priced $USD70 with the surounding sound of construction, coming from the closed spa. I opted for a cycle to the salt flats but turned out both bicycles were broken. The team at the resort were super friendly and looking for a way to help and compensate us given we only came here for the spa and for the direct proximity to the salt flats (turned out to be 40min walk). Beyond all those little things we spent some time on the phone with one of the owners who clearly failed to understand the situation and to offer reasonable resolution. So we had to spend more than 1h on the phone with the female owner which was not great for our “relaxing”night at Luna. Turns out spa is also closed on Mondays so bear that in mind.

• Natalie (6/5): Overpriced - Very unique place to stay when visiting the salt flats. View is nice. In general the hotel keeds some upkeep (peeling paint in bathroom, spa facilities are a bit disappointing, old furniture). We also found it completely unreasonable that the hotel does not provide anything such as tea free of charge in your room. You have to pay for absolutely everything. The free welcome drink only includes a tea, not even coffee. The transfer to and from the hotel costs $30 US and they will not help you with any taxis etc. We used the spa facilities but the sauna and steam room were still cold - these should be turned on before the spa opens so they are ready for guests to use. The food is poor and overpriced. Staff were not particularly helpful or friendly considering the price you pay to stay here and its inconvenient location.

This hotel is truly beautiful and so unique, being made out of salt and with all the lovely decorations! It's got a killer view of the sunset too! It would have been helpful to know up front that people typically book tours to the salt flats with companies outside of the hotel. Guess I was the only guest trying to line a tour up solo. Fortunately I made some friends who let me tag along with their tour, but otherwise it's hard to line something up and I didn't realize the hotel is not within walking distance of the flats. So maybe that can be sent as a heads up in a booking info message. ☺️
• Juliana (9/5): Good choice to stay near the salt flats - Excellent location, architecture and very comfortable. The breakfast is poor. Only breads, just scramble eggs and some fruit. Everyday the same. The reception could improve its service. They need more people.
• Alessandro (7/5): Unique stay but disproportionately expensive and mediocre service - Unique experience to spend the night in a hotel completely made of salt. The room with a view of the salar was stunning and romantic. They have bikes to rent to tour around the salar. For the cost (disproportionate for Bolivia), the service is not on par. We were told by the staff that the bar would serve food until 11pm, only to realized that the kitchen actually closed at 9:30pm. The only option left was an overpriced (they really take advantage of the fact that you are in the middle of nowhere with no other option) and really bad pizza. Similarly at breakfast, the restaurant staff (which overall was quite unfriendly) took the food out of the buffet trays while we were serving ourselves. It is true that we were a minute late, but it would have been a nice gesture to let us finish. The spa is very small and needs some renovation.

They let you hang out around the property if you arrive before check in, and they have a bunch of lounge areas with beautiful views. Restaurant and spa are great too, although much more expensive compared to the rest of the prices we saw in Bolivia (but still comparable/cheaper than US standards).

We have also been to Palacio Del Sal but would rather recommend Sal Luna!! The shower head was poor and no tea, no kettle in the room. Windows can’t be opened but AC available.

• Claudia (10/5): The hotel of your dreams - People at the hotel are so amazing and welcoming! The place is also really beautiful with a lot of cozy spots to hang out. It's very clean, warm, with natural light, and at night you can hang out outdoors in the beautiful deck. I can't recommend it enough! The AC in our dorm was a little too noisy, even when turned off. Also, I liked the restaurant, but I would have loved to be able to try some Bolivian traditional food there.
