Lynn (6/5): Change the cleaning company. - The location is the Gem at this huge property which has plenty of room and bedding for up to 12 people. Facilities are good. Unfortunately that’s where the Gem ends. There is no need for this house to be so dirty - brown stained kitchen sinks, yellow staining at the bathroom plug holes, sofas and floor rugs well past their expiry with a very pungent stale smell to them, kitchen drawers dirty, a hotch potch of plates and cutlery, stained carpeting, a shoe at the outside shower, soap scum on shower glass, weeds in the garden. So disappointing and disrespectful to the clients who trust their time and money will be well spent. Step 1- the hosts need to change their cleaning company who are sadly taking them for a ride! This property has sooooo much more potential.
Virginia (7/5): Could do better - Lovely area to stay in. Plenty of room to get away from each other when needed. Aircon not working and told about it a day before arriving. No solution offered and the first night was very hot. Only gave us a small portable air con that did nothing when we asked for it. Two double beds in 3rd bedroom need to be replaced. They are both banana shaped. Only gave us 4 toilet rolls for 5 people over 9 nights, extremely inadequate. They supplied half a dish scrubber, with what we paid I think they could have provided a full one. Cleaning was also a bit hit and miss. Don't look under the furniture! Dog poo in enclosed yard from previous occupants was not picked up. And to top it off, on our last day they sent a message asking us to remove all sheets and pillowcases from the beds. This was not stated in the contract or info provided by the owners.
