• Fong (1/5): The stairs and safety standards in the room are shouldn't open for vacation rental business. - The bed was comfortable, the window view is nice & the surrounding is quiet. It didn't tell us on the website that the room is located upstairs. The stairs & railing to upstairs was poorly preliminary constructed. It didn't fit to be used. There weren't any railing to hold on. The material wasn't smooth and had I got sprinters to poke my hands. It doesn't meet the safety standard to open for guest stays. The steps are not wide enough so we have to step down sideward. We had hard time to load the luggage up & down. The gutter & a block of wood protruding on the other side of the stairs. When people go up and down. They can hit their head anytime. The nails on the stairs were loosen and the some of the wood material starting to crack. We only use the stairs 2 x daily (in & out). We were so scared to use the stairs. We had nightmares and never, never come back to this place. There is no way to escape when there is a fire occurs. The room doesn't have smoke detectors and sprinklers. In case of fire, there isn't any way to exit the room. There is no bed mat & grabs in the bath tub. No bath rug in front of the bath tub. Only a towel in front and it slips when we stepped out of the bath tub.

• Andrea (9/5): Tolles Zimmer in ruhiger, sicherer Wohngegend, super nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter - Es war ein sehr sauberes, schönes Zimmer mit eigenem Bad. Es gab eine Verbindungstüre zu einem weiteren (anderweitig vermieteten Zimmer). Wir hatten ein eigenes Bad, einen Fernseher, eine Mikrowelle und einen Wasserkocher. Im Flur gab es noch einen Kühlschrank mit einem Gefrierfach. Zudem gab es einen kleinen Vorrat an Tee und Kaffee (ca. 1-2 Portionen pro Person) und Zucker. Kleine Wasserflaschen wurden zur Verfügung gestellt und ebenso, Toilettenpapier, Shampoo, Seife und Spülmittel. Im Haupthaus gab es noch eine Waschmaschine (inkl. Waschmittel) und einen Trockner zur Mitbenutzung. Diese waren in einer Küche untergebracht, in der wir bei Bedarf auch hätten kochen können. Ein Haarfön war ebenfalls vorhanden. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Allerdings gab es nur eine sehr große Decke, ich persönlich mag es lieber meine eigene Decke für mich alleine zu haben. Aber die Decke war sehr groß und daher dennoch prima. Die Wohnung war gut angebunden, da von der 3rd-Road aus ein Bus fuhr, so dass wir überall gut hingekommen sind, auch ohne Auto. Ein kleines Einkaufszentrum ist in Laufnähe. Zum großen Einkaufszentrum in Richmond entweder ein paar Minuten mit dem Bus oder ca. 35 Minuten zu Fuß. Die Vermieter haben uns sogar mal mitgenommen bis Brighouse, so dass wir gar nicht erst mit dem Bus fahren mussten, sondern direkt mit der Bahn nach Vancouver fahren konnten. Empfehlung: im London Drugs Tageskarten für 11 $ auf Vorrat kaufen. Die Gültigkeit beginnt erst bei der ersten Nutzung. Kauft man eine Tageskarte am Automaten, beginnt die Gültigkeit sofort. Im Bus kann man keine Tageskarte kaufen. Nur an den großen Bahnstationen. Aber man kann im Bus und an den Bahnen seine Debit- oder Kreditkarte tappen und damit bezahlen. Auch sehr praktisch! Ich würde jederzeit wieder dort buchen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Die Außen-Treppe hoch zur Ferienwohnung. Wir hatten die Ferienwohnung im Backyard. Diese Holztreppe hatte schmale Stufen und ich habe es kaum geschafft meinen gut 23 kg schweren Koffer hochzutragen. Meine Tochter hat mir dann geholfen. Der Vermieter war bei der Abreise so lieb und hat uns unsere Koffer runtergetragen. Auch nicht gefallen hat mir der einfache Türcode. Irgendwie hatte ich immer das Gefühl, jemand unberechtigtes könne jederzeit ins Zimmer, wenn er diesen einfachen Code ausprobiert. Auch die unverschämten Mieter des Zimmers nebenan zu Beginn unseres Aufenthalts haben uns nicht gefallen. Sie waren so laut und hatten bis 4 Uhr nachts den Fernseher oder so laufen, haben die Türen geknallt, Extrem laut geredet und die Zwischentüre „ausprobiert“. Aber wir hatten sie ja von innen verriegelt. Aber für diese rücksichtslosen Mieter können die Vermieter ja nichts, das kann ja leider überall passieren, selbst im teuersten und nobelsten Hotel. Die Mieter danach waren so leise, davon hat man quasi nichts mitbekommen. Was mir auch nicht gefallen hat, aber dafür können die Vermieter nichts, ist, dass die Straßenbeleuchtung an vielen Stellen sehr schwach / unzureichend war. Ich mag es lieber hell beleuchtete Strassen zu haben. Aber Gott sei Dank handelte es sich ja um eine sichere Gegend.

Comfortable bed and private bathroom with deep tub. Perfect place to stop and stay a few days before flying away. Will definitely stay there again!

Located in a beautiful, serene, and safe upscale neighborhood, I felt completely comfortable walking around. The room was exactly as described, very clean, and had everything needed, including a microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, and complimentary water/coffee/tea. The lock and security chain on the door added an extra sense of safety. Its proximity to the airport was perfect for my early flight. A convenient 10-minute walk led to a plaza with a supermarket and restaurants, and the bus stop was 7 minutes away. Highly recommended for a comfortable and convenient stay! The room was pretty hot. I had the fan on most of the time.

• jerry (3/5): NOT GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE AND NOT RECOMMENDING IT TO ANYBODY - Location and price are good. Frist impression is NOT very good. The host is very hard to get a hold off. We send emails but did not get any reply after two days. We went to Victoria and email the place to let them know that the ferry going to Vancouver will late. We ask if that is a problem. We did not get any reply, so we decided to changed our plan to go back early. We we met straight the.place and it's raining so they said to park on the left side of the garage diagonally. We where there and a car already park on the left side and it actually belongs to the host. They told us to go the back ally so we can enter the front. We are NOT very impressed with that. Our luggage is so heavy and we into the wet back ally just to get to the front door. Then another guest check in and they said they go by the side of the house which the host did not tell us. We check into the room and the smell of the room is NOT very inviting. The host said showed us how to turn on the ceiling fan and he said " it will rain tomorrow and I don't think k you need the fan". What the he'll was that. It is so hot inside the room and telling us not to use the fan. We look around the room and nothing was dusted, you can even write your name onto all off the surfaces. The small fridge is not even turn on. The bed looks like not been washed and the bathroom is so filthy. The tub are not cleaned as you can tell the door are full of water stain. No garbage can inside the bathroom. It was only one tiny garbage can by the door. I have to wipe the counters on the bathroom and outside. The drawers on the the furniture are so dirty. I told my husband that night that I want to look for another accommodation ut we already paid in full. NOT GOING BACK TO THIS AND NOT RECOMMENDING IT TO ANY BODY!

The shower and toilet all,good. I had good tea and coffee making facilities. The area was very peaceful and quiet at night so was able to sleep well. Andrew the owner and his son were very welcoming and friendly and helpful. On arrival I immediately felt welcomed. I can’t think of anything I did not like.

They were all more than I needed, but I might use them on a return visit (and I will definitely be back!). The private bathroom was a plus. • John (10/5): Spacious, clean, well equipped room. - Large bright fully equipped room (Rm#1) on the second floor with Nespresso machine, water boiler, microwave, desk, TV (few channel, no casting or mirroring), full bathroom/shower, large closet with wooden clothes hangers, king bed, kitchen utensils, mugs plates... Push button keyless front door entry, slippers, key for the room (likely don't need it), parking in back driveway. Friendly reception by father and son, Luke, who plays the piano. Yard is a little unkept but trimming was going on at the time. Located in central Richmond, 20 min by car to the airport, 10 minutes to Steveston. Quiet. Very good accommodation at a fair price. Nothing worth mentioning. but a rental car is needed to make the most of the area.

• Andrew (8/5): Happy landings in Richmond - This, by chance, was a return visit for me - as the fairest accomodation choice in Richmond. Location was pretty good (near the airport) after a long flight. Host's son carried my bags up stairs which was appreciated. Had good privacy and the big bed and en suite bathroom made my stay very comfortable. Richmond has an uneven taxi service. Either pay $35 from the airport or take one's chances hailing a cab from the Brighous3 Skytrain station 3 km away. ($11). Even though use of the Kreug coffee dispenser was demonstrated to me, in practice, it failed for me in the morning. Consider maintenance or replacement.

Knowing that I was in a hurry to catch a shuttle bus, he got up early and drove his car sending me to the bus stop a long way from the residence.I was greatly indebted to him for this kindness. The location, it's somehow far away from the downtown, no subway or light rail station nearby.

• Alison (10/5): A great stay at Lucky Room Richmond - Kind hosts. Beautiful, spacious room with thoughtful and useful amenities like coffee maker, fridge, microwave. Very comfortable bed. Great shower. Very quiet, pleasant neighbourhood. Skytrain station just a 10 minute bus ride away. And local shopping with grocery store, coffee shop, and a selection of small restaurants just a 10-minute walk away. I was very impressed with everything. Highly recommend.

The owners had taken care of even small details like snacks, water (still, or even sparkling water to choose from), shower gel and lotion. What I really liked was a kettle in the room, not only a coffee machine, which was uncommon in the other places I had stayed in. Cherry on top were the really kind owners.
