Woman who greeted us let us know that we would not have access to the shared shower due to work being done. We only had access to the shared sink and toilet. Did not see or hear from the host otherwise. There were no deadbolts or chains on either entrance to our room, just the knob locks. We were kicked out of the pool after ten minutes as it is used for private swim lessons.

The steam of the pool makes the room inhabitable due to the temperature and the humidity. There is no airco. The access to the room via an indoor pool is not convenient.

All the windows could not open as The latches were broken. The lock on the door was defective and we couldn’t get in and we had to wait for 15 minutes for somebody to arrive to let us in.

The toilet facilities were also quite far and no shelf to put our things, and it looks like they were in the middle of renovations in the bathroom with dry wall cut out electrical panelling exposed, broken towel rail and toilet roll holder. The gated entrance to the property was falling off the hinges and the door to the property was also broken. It all seemed quite run down and uninterested in maintenance. Although the host was really nice it felt quite unpleasant to stay there. There were swimming lessons being held in the pool literally next door (with a window partition to the room) and so it was very noisy and lots of people coming and going. In the evening upon our return there was a man silently walking around inside the property and although it turns out he is the swimming instructor, it would have been nice for the hosts to have warned us that he would be there and that the complex would have so much public footfall.

Instructions didn't explain the code to get in was on handle of door but only lit up when touched a certain way. Maybe that's common, but I've never come across it. There was bread in the kitchen area when I arrived but not the next morning. Was also no butter. I understand Vancouver is expensive but for a bedroom with shared bathroom it seems a lot.

• Jen (7/5): Good - Comfortable, spacious, private and affordable. Lots of cute little touches to both the rooms and common space. Entering the accommodation felt easy and straightforward. The hosts are very hands-off, which as a positive allows for more privacy. It’s right off south Granville, parking is easy and it’s also right on a bus route. I chose this booking for its facilities. I needed a place at the end of the month between moving homes in Vancouver, and I liked that this booking had a pool and sauna I could relax in. It was a bit hard to get communication about the pool, tub & sauna facilities. There was no way to turn on the heat, including the hot water for the main shower. It was hard to know who to ask for help, and whether the other people around were guests, visitors or people living upstairs. There were ants on the floor of my room and my door didn’t actually lock as you could just push it open. That said, the room still felt safe.

• Carlos (9/5): Marvelous - The stay was good, the room was impeccable, the bathroom was excellent and the most notable thing was the ease with which you can enter or leave the accommodation and also its amenities such as coffee, milk, cereals, etc. The only thing that would improve is perhaps to do an initial introduction to know what can be done and what cannot, since being self-checking everything is a bit confusing at the beginning. But the accommodation itself is marvelous.

There was no bed making (changing sheets and other bedding) during the 10 days stayed. 4 The description in the guidebook was unclear whether the facilities are for in room use or shared use. Almost shared use. For example, the refrigerator was shared. (That's why I asked for a small one in my room).

In addition, you can hear everything. I heard the guy in the next room snoring. People in the kitchen can also be heard in the room. Room had an extremely tiny window so it was really hot and felt too full. I wouldn’t recommend to be honest. It needs a lot of work done
• Filows (5/5): Not worth it - Pool is cool and all but you have to uncover and cover it when you want to use it. Shower was cold. Ants everywhere, one even on the bed.

We couldn’t sleep because of the noise of gas escaping from the pipes. Also there was no warm water to take a shower. We couldn’t control the temperature of the room so were cold all night.

Breakfast supplies came in handy Location was not suitable for people without a car. Nearest shops were about 1 km and nearest restaurant even further. Owners lived upstairs and there was no separation between their area and the rented rooms. Didn’t meet owners as all communications were by email. Property had rooms for 2 and 2 and 4 but dining area had seating for 4. Private bathroom had fittings coming out of a big hole in the wall and covered by torn foil.

• Amber (6/5): Beautiful house, needs some work. - The house and common areas were beautiful, and had we stayed longer, I would have loved to use the tea room and pool, but we didn't have time. I was very concerned about the giant hole in the wall of the shower. It looked like they tried to patch it temporarily with some kind of foil, but the tear to allow the faucet was quite large and I didn't feel comfortable using it as water could go into the wall. There was also water leaking from somewhere around the base of the toilet. The pillows need to be replaced. They were very lumpy and uncomfortable.

• Robert (6/5): Overpriced. Property needs maintenence. - The room was very clean. Safe neighborhood. Plenty of free parking (if needed) Home is rather far from Vancouver center. Take bus # 10 to 49th ave. if you do not have a car. The home is beautiful, but needs several repairs. There were several ceramic tiles missing in the shower. When you enter the home through the backdoor ( only option) you are immediately greeted by an indoor swimming pool. There is only a very narrow tiled path right next to the pool to walk to the rooms. This is dangerous and in particular if you have heavy luggage. There was No TV in the room. No outdoor security light by the backyard entry door. This is what you call a B&B with only one B, because some instant coffee and some cereal is not really worth the second B. At night, somebody start playing the piano upstairs. Although it sounds lovely at first, my guess is that this is not for everyone.

• Daniela (1/5): Unusual and unexpected basement room. - clean in a nice location This was one of the most bizarre experiences i had. First, this is a basement room. This was not clear in the ad. And it is only one room and a bathroom. The kitchen and living room are shared. They are in a dark basement. I booked the location because of the swimming pool, though it was closed. At entrance, the person just showed us the room and that was it. The entrance is through the swimming pool! and then a dark corridor. There are two more levels of rooms upstairs and a spiral stairs above! Everything seemed like a renovation of a basement level of a house, just to create separate rooms for renting.
• Nataliia (7/5): Nice garden - Clean and spacious place with the kitchen and simple breakfast included. There is a fantastic garden that collibri birds visit regularly. The place is beautiful, and the room has enough furniture. The main entrance door had issues and we had to call the host each time to open it. The shower is a bit broken, not enough pressure and the shower head is fixed on the wall, not possible to move or to adjust it. The swimming pool was completely covered and not for use. Sound isolation is not very good: you can hear every step and word in the corridor, behind the walls, and above the room - until everyone stops, falling asleep is difficult. The air ventilation in the room is not very good. The room is located in half-basement, and the air is dumb and does not smell fresh despite all windows being opened all the time.
