Guest Reviews
- Stuart (10/5): - Very clean, spacious & extremely comfortable bed plus perfect location, excellent host Nothing

- Jovana (9/5): very comfortable and cozy - the room was spacious and well equipped. there was a kettle and a filter coffee machine and also a microwave and fridge. the bed was also very comfortable the toilet was an inconvenience since it is located down 3 flights of stairs but definitely manageable
- Deborah (8/5): Vlad was a very hospitable helpful host. The proximity to the centre of Ypres andtrain stationperfect - The proprietor could not have been more helpful, obtaining for me some war time diaries on line from Kew Archives and getting a cable to charge my phone when mine was failing. He was hospitable and friendly. However the lavatory is on the ground floor and the shower is on the attic floor. So there are some steps to go to the lavatory. I did that knowing all the other service he gave me was excellent, but would caution someone older using his attic. He was an exceptional host. As detailed above.
- Austin (10/5): - Very spacious. Basic cooking facilities very good, comfortable homely accomodation. Great tv which includes Nerfllix. Great convenient and safe parking. Aldi and shops restaurants and historical sites within walking distance. Toilet downstairs, not a problem for us and you get in your steps.
- Miroslav (9/5): Nice room, nice location, nice owner. - The place was nice, clean and spacious. There was a kettle, a microwave, a fridge and a coffeemaker. There was also a smart TV with some local channels and access to streaming apps and youtube. The owner was eager to help with anything I needed. It was short distance from the city center and also close to the train and bus station. It wasn't expensive, I got great value for the money I've spent. The steps on the stairs were a bit short and/or steep, probably because it was an older building. This is not the best place for people who have trouble with stairs, or with mobility in general.

- alan (7/5): - Very welcoming host. Very nicely equipped studio but toilet is not in the unit, it's downstairs.
- Jan (9/5): Best for a City Trip to Ieper - Best location for a City Trip to Ieper. none
- Liv (9/5): Superb - Great value, spacious apartment on the top floor, and a super friendly host. We loved the apartment which has a great location near the train station and short walking distance from the main square.
- Roberts (5/5): Passable - Not having a toilet in the unit was a major drawback. To have to go down multiple flights of stairs for a pee was a real hassle. Too many stairs for an older occupant.
- Peter (10/5): Good value and great host - Near Ypres centre, free parking close Steep stairs, down stairs toilet
- Artur (9/5): totally worth it and will definitely stay there again when I come back to Ypres! :) - After a good first contact from Vlad as soon as I made the reservation months in advance, he greeted me as soon as I arrived as well, making himself very available for any situation needed. Very clean place, well equipped, well treated and super well located (maximum 5 minutes on foot from the train station). Treated more like an acquaintance than just some customer and made me feel at home. Will definitely stay again when I’ll be back in Ypres and do recommend for anyone who is thinking of going, either if you’re alone, or a couple. As commented by everyone, the sole issue is the toilet being 2 floors down from the apartment and the window on it could be covered.
- Ron (7/5): A lovely, compact apartment very well situated and an excellent location for exploring the area. - L'Abri is a lovely apartment about a 10 minute walk from the centre and just around the corner from the supermarket and bakery. Also, only a 5 minute walk from the main railway station if travelling by train. Very clean, with a big comfortable sofa and bed. Vlad, the host, speaks perfect English and is most welcoming. He has a good knowledge of the WW1 history of Ypres and places to visit if you need any advice. Like previous guests, we were disappointed that the toilet is separate from the bathroom and down several flights of stairs. Also a little disappointed that there was no kitchen area and the only cooking appliance was a microwave. A toaster would have been a welcome addition too. The mezzanine with the bed is nice, but the stairs are steep and I wouldn't recommend it for older people.
- David (10/5): Very nice - The flat was lovely and big and very modern. Vladimir the owner was very nice helpful , the location is excellent for the town and Menin gate. The only down side was the toilet is downstairs from the flat
- Keng (9/5): Rare hospitality in a spacious room - Spacious luxurious room, welcoming host who took great pains to meet us, and let us stay beyond check out time because no other guests were coming. Bed was most comfortable. Bed was in a loft above the main room, so you'd have to clamber downstairs on a ladder, say if you woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Which is in a separate unit some floors down! Probably not advisible for the elderly. But you'll make do just to enjoy the hospitality!
- Douglas (10/5): Best Value - The top floor unit was perfect for my stay,Centrally located .Vlad was so incredibly helpful and communicated well in advance. Would stay at L'abri again without hesitation
- Filippo (9/5): Superb - The position of the house is perfect for anyone wanting to visit the main locations of Ypres.
Guests have a really comfortable room on the third floor, with a nice view. The place has no toilets upstairs so you have to go down every time. However there is a shower and a washbasin
- Joao (9/5): Superb -
- Hattie (9/5): Superb - Vlad is very friendly and helpful. The place is nicely done and the location is great. It was a bit chilly with high ceilings and limited heating but I was visiting on a particularly cold weekend.
- Peter (10/5): Made my stay at Leper most enjoyable. - Very clean and well appointed position A bit of a trek to the toilet, but not a problem
- Andrew (10/5): It was perfect for our purposes. Private, warm, clean and quiet. And a very friendly welcome. - Vlad could not have been more helpful and kind. The flat is clean, well equipped and comfortable. It was all good. No complaints.
