Guest Reviews
- Robert (7/5): - The cottage on the whole was nice, and setting was very peaceful and serine. Sadly, the cleanliness factor let the whole experience down in a huge way. Firstly, the kitchen cooking utensiles in the caddy on the kitchen bench were disgustingly dirty. We had to thoroughly wash the ones we wanted to use before use. Also, the leather two seater lounge was very mouldy, which is not very good from a health perspective. At $300.00 per night, I have to admit, that I was expecting a much higher stanard. Pictures attached ..
- Carol (10/5): - Everything about it
The location, only about a 10 minute drive to nearest village with everything that is needed, restaurants, supermarket and coffee shops It was all good
- Mark (5/5): Be Clear of Your Purpose Before You Commit - Lovely rural setting. A couple seeking an escape, nature and its cacophony, a wood fire on a cold night and a bottle of wine, would most likely love the place. Didn’t really want to submit a review as we feel somewhat responsible for the selection. Have decided to share our thoughts for those who may have similar needs and would like to avoid the mistakes we made. We vacated after one night and found alternative accommodation in Byron Bay. We did attempt to speak to the vendors but they were not on site at the time.
We were a group of three including an elderly nan in her mid eighties. We needed accommodation for three nights in an area close to a wedding and reception in the area. Being parents of the bride we were carrying quite a lot of luggage. These were the issues we found that made this venue unsuitable for this purpose -
1. Two bedrooms is a stretch. It’s a glorified sun room with a single bed that is hard and may suit a child but not an elderly nan. Can see others have mentioned the bed as well in reviews.
2. Lack of storage. There is one old robe and few hanging hooks. Nowhere to put suitcases so they go on the floor.
3. Everything creaks. You could argue that’s the nature of these era cottages and we’d agree to a point. But if you’re trying to get to the toilet in the middle of night, the floorboards and even the robe will make sure everyone’s awake to hear it.
4. Add to that there is one toilet. And you have to walk through the main room to get to it. So whoever is in the second room has to open the swing doors, creak across the floorboards, just to get to the toilet which is curiously located inside the shower cubicle.
5. In our view the property is probably most suited to a couple looking for a weekend nature escape. We feel the photos supplied are highly edited to present an enhanced impression not necessarily matched by the actual.
6. Whilst located well for the wedding venue, be aware the roads to get there are terrible, generally one lane with local traffic to negotiate. Corrugated, pot holed and in various states of repair. There was fresh asphalt and scree that was thrown everywhere.

- Sienna (10/5): Beautiful place to stay -
- Lynda (9/5): Lovely place to stay in beautiful surroundings. Was great to have a wood fire and wood ready to light it. Would definite - Lovely cottage set in beautiful gardens. Had everything we needed and the hosts were very helpful. The rooms smelt a bit musty when we first got there but that went after a few hours.
- Natasha (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (9/5): Fabulous location, great hosts, a wonderful property and a great stay . Highly recommend!! - Privacy, everything you could need.
The queen bed was very comfortable. Single bed was uncomfortable for an adult. Bring an overlay if you prefer a medium mattress.
- Kiran (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Aimee (10/5): Serene atmosphere, perfect for a weekend away. - Gorgeous cottage with the perfect surroundings to relax and unwind! Close enough to Bangalow for morning coffee/pastry run and not much further to the “big smoke” Byron for the shopping and theatre.
- Pamela (6/5): Overall, it was a nice place to stay at; a 6 due to the water pump breaking. - The Cottage was in a lovely, quiet setting and was very clean. It was spacious for 2 people. The main queen bed was very comfortable. Plenty of crockery, kitchen utensils, etc. It was easy to locate, very private, and easy access. It was a shame there were no little welcoming "goodies". No milk was provided, which would have been appreciated upon arrival on a cold day and after travelling. This was odd because tea and coffee were provided. There were no condiments. A small amount of butter/margarine would have been appreciated. Also, unfortunately the water pump broke on the 2nd morning (a Sunday) of our 3-night stay so awoke to no water. The hosts, however were very good in offering an alternative place to stay at and they also bought 30 litres of water for toilet flushing/hand-washing. And gave us a refund for our 3rd night, which was appreciated.
- Michelle (2/5): Ridiculously overpriced for what you get. - Location was beautiful. This property is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. No milk. Sachet coffee. Dirty fans. Fireplace had half burnt log and ash. No firefighters or kindling provided. Intermittent internet (and no mobile reception). At $315 a night we have seen far better. And we have never seen a 4pm check in ever.
- Li (10/5): Very enjoyable and memorable! - There's no breakfast (not a B&B). However, the owners provide a range of good quality cookwares so we can make or own food. The dinner set is particularly beautiful. They were very obliging and lent us special kitchen utensils we needed for cooking. We liked everything we experienced and would recommend this cottage to our friends and family. What a beautiful place and nice people!
- Abigail (8/5): Great overall and a lovely setting - Beautiful setting, great hosts and a comfortable stay No milk for tea or coffee
- Glen (9/5): Superb -
- Miriam (9/5): Superb -
- K (10/5): I wish I could have stayed longer - Beautiful location, lovely neat cottage. Nothing
- Jeff (8/5): Very good -
