Guest Reviews
- Ryan (9/5): -
- phillip (4/5): very average - advertised sofa bed...did not exist...it was just a sofa
no bedding supplied for it...even after asking
no code supplied to get out the next day...had to wait at the gate for some time after requesting it
- Khuzwayo (4/5): A place to crash and no more - Decent location Wifi did not work
Towels were musty
- Ntombi (5/5): -
- Olwethu (1/5): Save your money and energy. - Nothing, there were many roaches and the hostess didn’t not seem to have a problem with it The dirty counters, the fridge had roaches, cutlery was dirty and bath tub was not clean, had stains all over and there were no cleaning products.
- Vanqa (10/5): -
- Ripfumelo Nonkululeko (10/5): Had a fabulous stay - The apartment is absolutely beautiful and very clean Nothing
- Onikosi (10/5): -
- Tshiololi (3/5): -
- Mervin (9/5): -
- Gadija & Gharonesa (2/5): Terrible - The host was unfriendly and rude. he/she couldn't even introduce himself or self by name, I made more than 10 calls and none of them were received. seconds later she/he will respond via SMS. Heavy curtains and sweaty windows with a heavy smell, its either cigarettes (i saw a packed ashtray by the balcony) or its dampness due to lack of fresh air.
No ironing board and a very dirty iron. I stood at the gate waiting for my keys, the entrance is very busy. I was concerned of my safety. The place is not ideal for someone from outside Joburg and travelling alone, the host is so unprofessional.
- July (10/5): -
- masuku (7/5): My stay at The point Avaria - The safety and the place is comfortable Sheets should be changed everyday
The cleaners should clean the flat, scrub the shower and wash the pots.
Heat should be available in cold weathers
- Coto (8/5): -
- Tigere (10/5): -
- Musonda (8/5): - Location and the neatness of the place
- Christoffel (1/5): Bad - Parking was good, security great.
Rest reasonable. Advertised as Lillys guest house turns out its called the point and is a three story block of flats.
Even though the adress was correct we still battled to figure it out.
Winter is a no no, its bloody cold in there only had one heater fan thats probably good for a one man tent.
Cooking pots with burnt carbon in them.
No bedside tables.
TV was not working for the crows nest electrical wireing behind the tv cabnet.
Front door is swolen had to put the shoulder in to open it.
My first bad review on Booking.com
- Sylvia (4/5): Disappointing -
- Vee (8/5): Very good -
- Prince (9/5): Superb -
- Kudzaishe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donnah (7/5): Good - Apartment Staff
- Ngwenyama (10/5): My stay was very nice and peaceful, the place was clean I loved the access control at the entrance I slept peacefully wi - The place looks exactly how it looks on the pictures very spacious and clean complementary water and coffee stuff were available, cutlery was also available including all cleaning supplies ,the property is very quiet and peaceful for a moment you forget where you are
- Gontse (4/5): I didn’t enjoy my stay because the place wasn’t clean - It’s in a nice area It wasn’t clean
- Gontse (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mpho (6/5): Host needs to work on responsiveness - I stayed at the apartment for a week. The location is very ideal, the area is quiet and the complex is safe. I have seen other reviewers mention the process of needing a code for security each time you enter the complex, but this didn't bother me as I prefer excess security as opposed to laxed security. The host gives you a code at around 6am each day, so I had no issues. The code expires at midnight, so when I went out past midnight, I sent my request to the host beforehand so they know they would need to send me a new code after midnight. No issues there. ▪ Cleanliness: It seems the person doing the cleaning does the bare minimum. My earring fell under the couch and after looking under there, I was terrified a spider would crawl out from under there the rest of the stay.
▪ I didn't have wifi for 4 of the 7 days I stayed there. Being a WFH employee, this was not ideal as I then had to incur an exorbitant fee to book office space at Regus. Additionally, the host would daily send a message saying "Is the wifi back on?" and when I say no, they wouldn't actually make an initiative to come out and sort out the issue. I understand things happen, but the response of a service provider when an issue occurs is vital!
▪ There are some broken window handles so you can't close some of the windows. As the apartment is on the 3rd floor and it's not Winter, they didn't cause any issues but it's something to note.
▪ As there is no air con, a fan in Summer and heater in Winter should be provided.
▪ There are no cleaning services, even for a longish term stayer like myself(6 nights), but I knew this beforehand hence I wasn't too bothered.
▪ Electricity finished and I came back from an outing with a friend to a dark house. The host quickly sent me the token for the metre but it would've been better if they had checked first to ensure there was sufficient electricity for my week log stay. Additionally, not everyone knows how to work a metre box so giving some instructions when sending the token would be helpful.
▪ There are no bedside tables so if you're a night reader like myself, your book and phone will have sit on the floor.
▪ The washing machine hose leaked water when I tried using it. I messaged the host and they said they would send someone and never did. Eventually, I had to move the machine and hoister the hose into the kitchen sink as my clothes were essentially trapped! Again, host responsiveness.🚩🚩🚩
- Musa (3/5): Poor - Good WiFi Linen overused and some staining needs replacing
Non stick Pots and pans lost coating and flaking off
No toaster, cutlery incomplete
Off smell in bedroom
- Vuyelwa (8/5): Fabulous 😍 - It was very good, the place is nice too and the host is very helpful ☺️ Mmh just minor things, but something we could handle, and the fact that we had to leave 😒 lol
- Lunghani (10/5): Good place to be - The place is much more beautiful than you see on the pictures. The balcony is so much bigger. The smart tv has Netflix account for the guest. Guests receive branded bath towels. The host is always available for any assistance. The place has free wifi. Its located in a quiet neighborhood. The access to the place is unusual as one has to always ask for the code from the host in order to enter or exit the property although the host always ensured that she provides it in time.
- Tareni (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great. Providing an access tag to the front boom gate would be nice as the entering as exiting via the visitors boom gate was time consuming.
- Marvel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petronille (8/5): Very good - Quiet place and safe They are changing the towels and sheets after a week, and they also clean the apartment after a week
- Musa (6/5): Pleasant - Security procedures are restrictive
Update pots, cutlery, linen and included a toaster
- Ashnee (9/5): Superb - Very modern. Everything was provided. Entry and exit l. Security sometimes were not very helpful
- Aldrine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Musa (9/5): Superb -
- Antoinette (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Tigere (5/5): Passable -
- Eulenda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chhiba (10/5): Exceptional - Due to emergency work meetings, we needed to stay slightly over the time and the owner was willing to accommodate extra hours at a low fee. There are were no issues.
- Frances (8/5): Very good - It was quiet which I did not expect, but was very grateful for. I felt completely safe there. It was comfortable and it is always much nicer to have an apartment rather than just a room. Very good value for the price. Previous occupant had let something spit onto the grill, so when one used the oven, huge clouds of smoke spewed out.
Did not seem to be a way to enter and exit as a pedestrian, but maybe I should have asked more?
- Lesego (10/5): Omg 5star for the place , what a beautiful stay ..we really enjoyed and the place was beautiful ey - Very beautiful Nothing
- Elise (10/5): Getaway - It was peaceful and had everything we needed. The place was clean. Bed was comfortable.
- Bongani (8/5): Very good - Safety, cleanliness, view, sunrise tobyour window, and the warmth of the place You should check your washing machine ,it leaks unless i was the one who couldn't operate it, i wish the bedroom had atleast one pedestal to put a phone at night
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - I liked everything about the apartment. The location is in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently situated between filling stations and shopping centers. The place was clean, we're definitely coming back.
