• Hami (10/5): Overall, I had a comfortable, safe, and private stay in a well located apartment. - The room was comfortable and suitable for resting. It had air conditioning and a radiator. I could use the AC, the heating system, or open the window for fresh air. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. Clean towels were neatly prepared on arrival, both on the bed and in the bathroom. Disposable slippers were provided. An electric kettle was available and useful. There was enough space in the wardrobe for clothes. The bedside table had two drawers for personal items. The host was polite, calm, and spoke English. I only met him on the first day, which gave me privacy. The place felt like my own home and not monitored. Security was excellent and felt safe, even for women traveling alone. The location was good, with bus stops and Taksim metro station about a ten-minute walk away. The room lighting was weak. Even with three ceiling lights and a bedside lamp, the room felt dim. Outside noise at night was noticeable for me since I sleep early. This happened despite the double-glazed windows. Some nearby streets were steep, which made walking slightly tiring.

• Pavel (9/5): Уютное место проживания - Номер был отличный, всё относительно новое. Душевая чистая и есть все принадлежности (мыло, шампунь). Есть чайник, кофеварка и целый набор столовых приборов. Номер укомплектован максимально для этой стоимости. Wi-Fi работал без нареканий. Немного утомили походы до остановок общественного транспорта, так как дом расположен в глубине улиц, так что была отличная кардио нагрузка, чтобы дойти до дороги, а если нужно было перейти на другую сторону ещё пройти несколько улиц, потому что пешеходные переходы на этой дороге большая редкость.

• Sadie (10/5): Perfect!! Couldn’t fault. - Loved the place!! In a good spot with families living around. It had everything you needed and was very clean. Great location as it was slightly out of the busy area but still very accessible. Can’t think of anything.

• Sirajul (7/5): Good - Not far from taksim square and the shopping area. My room was facing the street and ground floor. At times it was very noisy with kids playing in the street and night time people talking outside. It’s located at the bottom of a steep street so it’s hard to pull your luggage up to the Main Street.

• Анна (10/5): I really enjoyed the atmosphere - friendliness, hospitality, comfort, and cleanliness! 108% yes! - I liked ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! First, it was so easy to find the place. The house is really yellow, the most yellow house in the street. Second, the communication was really clear - all the necessary information I received before my arrival. Janesh received me at the door, showed me my room, and clarified the smallest details. Also, he put on the room door my name to make it even easier for me to find it. Third, the room and bathroom, and the house itself, were spectacularly clean and pleasant to look at. Nice design, beautiful and comforting colors, natural cotton bedding, smartly arranged little kitchen with an electric kettle, coffee-tea-sugar-salt-pepper, cutlery, beautiful dishes, dishes drainer, and a cute little fridge with a big bottle of drinking water. Nicely smelling liquid soap, bath gel, and shampoo in the bathroom. Conveniently located on the bathroom wall and door hooks hangers. Nice little bed table with a lamp and new little wardrobe with 5 hangers. Huge TV on the wall, and well-working AC. And beautiful curtains on the window. Fourth, I had some special requests - I needed to iron my clothes, and I immediately got an iron and ironing board; I came to Istanbul after one day stopover, and my clothes smelled like cigarettes, and so I asked to wash them. Although usually, as I understood later, Janesh requests his quests to use outside laundry, he let me use his washer, for what I am very grateful. Fifth, the location is simply wonderful - you are 5 minutes from Taksim square, and at the same time you are in the middle of authentic ordinary people life. My room was on the first floor, and I often opened the window to observe the local unhurried life: children playing, locals walking, cats running by. Every few hours, the muezzin called for prayers from the large mosque in Taksim Square. I really enjoyed this peaceful atmosphere. Sixth, Serkan, Janesh`s partner, helped me to carry my bag to the bus station when I was leaving. I`m so grateful! As I said, I liked everything. I will mention a few things that some of you may not like. For example, if you open the window and locals smoke nearby, the cigarettes smell will enter your room. So, simply close it and open again later. If someone smokes in the house, the smell will enter your room from the AC. The room are for non-smokers, so it only happens if someone breaks the rules. The sink in the bathroom is a bit small and your arms might hit the wall when you wash your hands - just turn the faucet a little to the right. The little streets leading to the Taksim square are steep, so if you have a big heavy bag, keep it in mind. It is easy to go down, and not that easy to go up. However, it is a good exercise. I got in the earthquake while in Istanbul, and I was in the room. So, keep in mind that Istanbul is in earthquake-prone zone.

• Irene (10/5): Exceptional - Just a few minutes away from Taksim square, the room is cozy and has everything you need if you plan to spend a few days in Istanbul. It was clean, warm, and I was out all day long so I never really had the chance to but there's a kettle to boil water and some kitchen supplies in case you want to bring some food in. Great place, recommended!
• H (6/5): Overall Good - 1. The room is clean and well-maintained. 2. It provides nearly everything you need for a comfortable stay. 3. Conveniently located, just a 10-15 minute walk from Taksim Square and the city center. 4. Several corner shops are just steps away from the property, adding to its convenience. 5. The host was responsive and accommodated my requests at times. 1. The host requested that I send a picture of my passport to a random WhatsApp number. I explained that I wasn’t comfortable sharing sensitive information this way but offered to provide my passport in person for photocopying. The next day, I was startled by loud banging on my door and the landlord shouting “Hello, hello.” When I opened the door, they demanded my passport and took a photo of it. This situation could have been handled more politely and professionally, as I felt I was being treated like a criminal. 2. I inquired about an ironing board and iron but received no response. I had to search the property myself to find them. However, the host was quick to message me asking for a review just a few hours before checkout. 3. Misleading information was provided about the amenities. Items like a bathrobe and stovetop were advertised but not available. The property does not offer a city view as claimed; it is situated in a slum, which was all I could see. Additionally, I was offered/found leftover toiletries, presumably from a previous guest, and the TV was non-functional. 4. The noise level was unacceptable at times. Other guests or residents in the property were loud at night, with shouting and music playing at high volumes. 5. The property is located in a notorious area, which I only discovered a few days into my stay. This made me feel unsafe, and I often had to return home earlier than planned. Thankfully, nothing happened, and I left the area unharmed.
• Mohamed (6/5): Not for light sleepers - Clean, close to Taksim square and Istiqlal street. Ground floor, street-side with practically no acoustic isolation in a very popular street. If you're a light sleeper avoid at all costs.
• Joe (10/5): Would stay again. - It was surprisingly clean and just enough for the single traveller. Shop across street for water for kettle. Very close to nightlife and Taksim square. Very Hard to Find. Got ripped off by a taxi driver. Not the owners fault though. Make sure you get proper directions. Quite noisy in street at night.

• Michail (6/5): I couldn't rest well with all the exterior noise. - It is very centrally located, a 5-6 minute walk from Taksim Square. Fairly good transport links from this area. The neighbourhood was extremely noisy. I had children play and scream outside my room window until 1am almost every night. It was quite noisy during the day too, with cars, trucks passing by, passersby shouting. Also, there are construction works across the road which added to the noise.

Accommodation is in a great location Loads of pubs/ bars / restaurants etc Easy accessible from bus, trains & trams The room was great too . With A/C , fridge, kettle, coffee maker, and utilities I only wished there was a stove top and a pan/ frying pan buts that only cause I enjoy cooking 🍳
