Guest Reviews
- Cindy (1/5): Didn't even stay. Walked in then walked out. - The bedrooms were presented nicely, however this house needs renovating to make it feel like you want to stay. It has no warmth to the house and it feels quite eerie. I walked in and there was a musty type of smell to the house. The first thing i saw were the broken floor tiles in the bathroom.
We didn't end up staying for multiple reasons. We literally walked in and i was totally shocked at the state of the house. I literally walked in, took a video and photos, then left. Im trying to get a full refund.
The photos advertised is not what you will see when you enter this property. The couch was dirty and there was no way i was sitting on it. The floor was bouncy, the kitchen bench sloped, cracks in the walks, mould on the loungeroom ceiling, cracked bathroom tiles, broken chairs, backyard not mowed.
They honestly need to put some work into it.
- Survivor Traveller (10/5): - The location as we were half way between 2 of our children in Albury Couldn't get the Aircon/Heater to work & it was a little cold during the nights & the home needs Curtains on all windows..
Our kids felt uncomfortable as they were worried the neighbours were watching them..
Also suggest some instructions on how to use the Front Loader Washing Machine..
I tried to use it but had an error & wouldn't spin the water out so blanket had to stay in there, did let staff know about this tho..
- stephen (3/5): far, stayed at better places for the same price - location bath room was very worn and requires repairs, many the floor tiles. The lounge room seating was not clean and smells
- Kirsty (7/5): - Comfortable beds Bathroom average
- MUHAMMAD (5/5): Property picture are very old not as per recent condition of property -
- Daniel (5/5): Was a quirky spacious house. Was disappointing about tfe Rat issue. - Good size and quirky look about it. There was a bad Rat problem in the kitchen. Rat pop on the bench in the kitchen. I have photos. They got into our food while we were out. The aircon didn’t work.
- John (5/5): - The house is old and needs some tlc.
- Sally (8/5): Good value for money and close to town in a quiet street with plenty of parking. - Great location for our purpose. Quiet amenities. Spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were supplied with fans which was appreciated. We couldn’t find any bowls to make dinner with. The batteries needed replacing in the remote for the tv and aircon. The toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall. The couch was very dirty and one of the chairs in the kitchen was broken.
- Ben (5/5): -
- Thea (8/5): - Kitchen was fantastically stocked which was so handy! The location was super close to great sporting ground and IGA! The beds were super comfy and we loved how spacious the layout was for our family visit. The toilet leaked inside the bowl a bit and there were some clutter left under the beds and in the oven.
- Aleisha (7/5): -
- Raul (7/5): -
- Jan (5/5): - The location was good. Enough room for us. The shower dripped all the time.
- Atakelti (7/5): -
- Rachelle (6/5): - Lovely and clean. Good location. Extra blankets were great for cold nights There was a terrible odor coming from the drain pipe in the toilet. The shower tap dripped non stop.
- Amanda (3/5): Very disappointed to the point of asking for a refund. - We didn’t end up staying as it was not suitable, the approach to the house was very unappealing, needs a good tidy up.
We went inside with an open mind but was very disappointed.
It was absolutely freezing and with a tiny little split system to heat the whole house, it was very cold.
The mattress on the bed was super thin.
We thought the house needs a lot of attention and we decided not to stay at all. Very cold!!!!
Needs better heating.
And a general tidy up and things updated or replaced.
Toilet looked very poor.
- Helen (5/5): - Location and a nice old house It was cold. Air conditioner was inefficient and not enough blankets.
- Margaret (3/5): - Position Very cold
- John (7/5): Old house, good price, clean - Good spot - easy to find
Quiet location
Beds v good couldn't got the oven or hot plates working
- Gill (1/5): Bad -
- Megan (9/5): Great value for money, would definitely stay again - Was a quiet location, not too expensive to Uber or taxi into town. Close to a shop for supplies and a nice pub nearby. Could have used electric blankets on the beds as it was quite cold at night time.
- Jenny (10/5): Family oriented - A quirky place with everything you need for a short or long stay.
Beds are comfy, and rooms are clean.
Ceral and Noodles were very useful.
We stayed here b4 and will again
- Bonita (8/5): Very good - Great location
- Huy (1/5): Worst experience ever had and feeling like a victim of racism. - Nothing. 1st and foremost, HOST is unbelievably RUDE and inappropriate in the way he/they responded to my complaints in relation to cockroaches and breakfast cereal spilts on the kitchen floor. By the way their language usage, I think they are racist to Asians due to their expressions of WHITE SUPERIORITY shown.
2nd, House is unfinished standard for B&B/Accommodations business.paint drops are everywhere on the floor in which can be avoided when painting the walls. Patchy patching up everywhere and not properly done to professional standards for running a business.
In addition, a ridiculous HOUSE RULE which is NO SHOES in the house. Never heard of in the Western World for Hotel and Accommodation Business.
- Jason (2/5): Advertised as house with full facilities but most of which didnt work. - Location was good Really old house. Washing machine was broken. Kitchen cooktops didnt work. No door on toilet.
- Peter (6/5): was a nice stay but would have been better with better upgraded facilities - Property was a little old with bedding a bit average &facilities needing an upgrade.
- Amanda (9/5): Convenient and comfortable - We were travelling for basketball and the location could not have been more convenient (only 5 mins walk to LJ Stadium). The house was sparse but clean and comfortable. The bedrooms were big so there was plenty of room to spread out and keep kitbags out of the way. The water pressure in the shower was pretty bad. One of our party is quite tall and we found the doonas a little bit short for the bed (there were blankets which helped remedy that).
- Jenny (9/5): Old cottage - A quirky old cottage , well set up for short or long stay.
Huge yard
We will be returning
Icecreams, ceral, and noodles..teens were set. A little musty, but opening doors fixed that .
If you're going to suply ceral suply some milk..even uht.
- Christie (8/5): Very good -
- Tink (4/5): Disappointing -
- Warrie (7/5): Excellent apart from the stove saga! - Prime location for our purpose of travel. The portable stove burner - wasn't helpful. Especially when travelling with little kids.
If only the stove could be fixed/replaced would be great!
- Robert (1/5): Embarrassing. Body aching from uneven floors ,Beds and furniture. - Nothing Everything It should be demolished
- Tammy (7/5): Good - The house suited our needs as a family with teenagers/young adults, and the location was nicely quiet and easy to access. The house has character and charm, reminding us of of previous homes we've lived in which had similar features. The age of the house shows in uneven but smooth surfaces, and you can see how the house has evolved over time.
Communication was fantastic with an amazing response time and very clear instructions. While many of the house's idiosyncrasies are due to the age of the house, we do have a few comments and suggestions to improve the property and make other stays better
1. Flyscreens are needed so the windows can be opened. That said, the aircon did a satisfactory job of keeping the house cool with the aid of portable fans in every bedroom.
2. No hand towels were provided.
3. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped but cooking for a family with teenagers required some creativity as no pot with lid was large enough for a pot of pasta or even rice. A few key gaps in the available kitchenware.
4. The house is meant to be shoes off but had nowhere near the door to sit while taking shoes off/putting them on. Also, some nails in the floorboards need hammering in flat (beware bare feet!).
5. The house is advertised as having some games and puzzles. All we found was a set of Connect 4.
- Janet (8/5): Great for breaking up long distance travel - Nicely renovated home. Rooms are huge. Yard is big enough to play football game in. Neighbours are rather noisy but if you drown them out you will love the stay
- Christien (10/5): Charm from the old - While it felt like I walked into my great-aunt's house (which I did 35 years ago in South Africa), with the trimmings, wooden floors and sliding windows, it had the most modern features inside.
Like a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and so so so clean. I don't think we didn't like anything. A wish may have been to have mozzie/fly screens in front of windows. But how to do this without disturbing the charm that has been awarded to this house over time?
Aeroguard worked as a modern alternative.
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Prudence (4/5): Disappointed that we now have to deal with the owner blaming us for damage we didn’t do. - The condiments and location to town. The overgrown yard. The backyard was more overgrown and my son couldn’t even go out there to play.
The couch was stained and there was an odour to the house.
When closing the front door, the curtains fell down off the wall in the lounge room - very unsafe.
- Hanuman (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (4/5): Okay but not good. - The property is spacious and in a good location. It wasn’t very accessible and would consider it an OHS issue for our family. Some issues we had included;
-Broken wooden slats underneath the bed
-Uncomfortable beds/seating
-No blinds or curtains on front lounge looking out to the street
-No outside lighting
-Cooktop in kitchen couldn’t be controlled, two turned on when only wanting one and they couldn’t be turned off with knobs, had to go into cupboard underneath in an awkward corner to reach and switch off
-Shower door kept getting stuck
- Nicola (6/5): This suited our need for a comfortable bed and a hot shower at a good price. - Place was clean in a good location. Linen was fresh and beds were comfortable. Very cold, bed fell apart in the night.
- Gavin (6/5): If you can accept an old house with quirks you can have a pleasant stay. - The location suited us close to the freeway and a block away from a supermarket and hotel. The street is reasonably quiet. Only occasional airplane noise from the airport and slight background noise from the freeway. Sports venues nearby and a park to walk around. The rear of the house gets a lot of sun, very warm and a patio would be nice. There is a cricket pitch sized back yard but somewhat overgrown. Three bedrooms for the price is good. The floors are uneven, sloping, most significantly in kitchen. Bathroom tiles are slippery, shower door sticks badly, no outside ventilation fan, no heater. A bench seat has replaced two chairs pictured by the window in the lounge, leaves a 2 seater and a chair. I had to buy new batteries for the split system and TV controllers - $4 well spent. The house is very old style with toilet in the laundry at the back, slant window panes old style. The dog next door is annoying sometimes. The driveway is narrow and overgrown with a rut on one side that is mud if it rains. A couple of light bulbs were blown.
- Beda (1/5): Never been such a worse property, i book hotel for rest of stay on Albury. - Worse Not liveable
- Julie (7/5): We had a pleasant stay at this property and would consider it again for a future stay. - The property was very clean and the heaters (wall and portable) did a good job of heating the house. The washing machine and clothesline came in handy for a large family. The host was very helpful and quick to reply to queries. The house had a few quirks due to its age and condition. It was also difficult to turn the split system heater on with the remote... keep at it though, it does eventually work.
- Jerome (5/5): Cold but pleasent - decent location, beds were ok (mattress wer nice but the slates in the second bedroom had popped out), there were good courtesy snacks had to reinsert/repair the slates in the bed, Air conditioner didn't respond to the remote so we only had the small portable heater and it was freezing
- Jiji (8/5): it was enjoyable and relaxing - clean, practical and location
