• Amanda (8/5): Lovely warm house surrounded by trees with 3 bedrooms downstairs and one up stairs with living area. - Great house, comfortable, good heating in winter, plenty of crockery and glassware.Lovely balcony where birds sat in the sun. Great living room space. Stove, dishwasher facilities all good. there wasnt many supplies, no butter or spreads, salt ran out, no coffee. We had to search for dishwash tablets, there was only 1 teatowel but 6 adults staying, cleanliness wasnt spot on, we found random items, including ping pong ball, eyeliner, someones underwear in wardrobe drawer.

• Aaliah (7/5): It was a nice stay - The wrap around verandah was nice, I could’ve sat out there all day. Kitchen stocked very well with crockery and such. The main bed downstairs, was so comfortable. Dishwasher tablets provided. The quietness of the area, the echo of sound. The darkness at night was beautiful. The road and driveway was pretty bad. I slid in my suv and had to go up and around and come back down to enter. Broken glass near the doorway. Internet connection was shocking.

• Kerrie (9/5): What a lovely place to stay. If we have another reason to stay in Cockatoo we would go back - What a beautiful location. I think it’s undersold! We had 6 adults staying … upstairs bedroom has a 1/2 ensuite, downstairs main has an ensuite so the other double and 2 king singles share that bathroom… upstairs room only need this bathroom for a shower. And the laundry and main bathroom have towel warm racks do your towels are always dry and fresh for the next time you need them. Was perfect for us… my husband and I, 3 grown up sons and one of our DIL’s. And when there were a couple of things (minor) that sent a request to the owner… it was sorted immediately. The whole house is very well appointed. We had 5 days there and it was really good for our needs… Fabulous instant hot water met the needs of 6 adults daily. Heating in the house during August(from people who live on the Gold Coast) was fabulous… just turned it on for a few hours late afternoon and turned off before sleeping. Warm and toasty. Kitchen… coffee machine, toaster, kettle, rice cooker, dishwasher Wifi and tvworked really well. I’m a “cook” and could have done with a baking dish or 2 for a baked dinner and maybe a cake tin… but that’s just me, snd I have chatted with the host about the things that I thought might make a difference… but we’re all different! And they seemed very amenable to the things that I suggested. It’s a lovely peaceful place and the village of Cockatoo is only minutes down the road.

• Ben (5/5): Nice dwelling. Average in access in general and could improve in a few areas. - Almost need a 4wd to access the roads to the accommodation, ruff and massive ruts and potholes. Driveway a little confined. It would’ve helped to have a heating on rather than turn up to a fridge that takes hours to warm up. Key access pin on email doesn’t relate to actual access.

• Kate (9/5): Superb - Really clever design with ample space and great to have the ensuites. Very grateful there was a turning area at the top of the drive. Personally, and nothing to do with the house, I would tidy the garden. As a gardener, I felt it let the beautiful house down.

So much thought had been put into everything, including a proper cot rather than a travel cot, highchair, a selection of tea, coffee machine and breakfast cereals, as well as a few board games and Netflix included. Beds were comfortable with snuggly bedding. Road and driveway was slippery when wet if trying to enter from downhill, but was not a problem if entering from uphill.

• Jo (10/5): This place really is a cosy and peaceful oasis to relax in at the end of a day out on Puffing Billy. - It was very clean and comfortable and had been beautifully done up inside. It was a cold night when we were there but the heating was good and kept the house warm. The kids really loved the cookies that were left for guests and the whole place felt like a little oasis in amongst the trees. It’s clear that a lot of effort is put in to keeping the place clean and avoiding mould and problems that come with a cool, damp environment. One of my children in asthmatic and he did have some problems downstairs but slept upstairs so was fine. I would suggest removing a chair in the downstairs cupboard that is covered in mould as it permeates that area.

• Phoebe (10/5): Lovely, comfortable stay in the gorgeous Dandenongs - Great that they have a coffee machine and little cookies in the kitchen! Very clean & comfy. Beautiful wrap around deck with lovely views. Due to storms the power was out and the host offered us a full refund, however we chose to stay because we had a wedding nearby. The host supplied candles and a torch and was great with communication!

• Janine (8/5): Picturesque accomodation - Well cleaned house, it looks lovely and is nicely decorated. Has everything you could need in the kitchen and throughout the house, having Netflix available was great and was appreciative of the snacks and coffee machine. It was very thoughtful of the hosts to have these little extras. If we had more time to spend it would have been lovely to have a BBQ on the deck and make use of the beautiful space. We did manage to get an uber out there and uber eats so it's not too far from things (do note though, the ubers wern't super happy about it, in particular the dirt road, and we couldnt get one back home from the wedding just as an FYI for other guests). Bed's were a little firm/uncomfortable, a bit hard of a house to get ready in (we were going to a wedding) as no mirror in main bathroom and the small toilet in upstairs bathroom does have a mirror but no where to put anything. Not sure about downstairs ensuite as another guest had this room. Not the house/hosts fault at all but it is noisy - you can hear every noise in the house like when someone moves upstairs etc. which meant we could hear all the construction noises and barking dogs loud and clear in the AM.

• Prasanka (10/5): Wonderful stay in the mids of Dandenong ranges - it’s a great location surrounded by tread, immaculately clean, very well furnished and the kitchen is fully stocked. highly recommended! cars with low ground clearance need to be careful when entering the driveway from the street. it’s not a big deal at all but something to be aware of.
• Cinnamon (9/5): We enjoyed it once we were at the top of the driveway. - House itself is very comfortable, clean and homely. The driveway. Location is on a hill and turning into a steep driveway that isn't level with the road, felt very risky. Had to get one of my sons to drive from road and up the driveway. As we arrived at night, it was very dark driving into the driveway as there are no lights until you get to top of driveway where the house in.
• Janinegerhard (9/5): We had a peaceful stay off the beaten track in this lovely house! - Loved the peace and quiet, and the wonderful towering trees leading us to the area. The house is lovely, comfortable beds, beautiful showers, a bath(!); well kept and nice touches such as coffee machine and pods. Situated close to amazing bush walks and wineries. The only things I could possibly suggest to be improved are: the entrance to the driveway, which is not steep, as suggested, but nerve-wracking to navigate; and perhaps a few more kitchen utensils such as a frying pan.

• Karla (9/5): A very comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing stay. - This property was very clean and beautifully designed & layed out. The kitchen and bathrooms were modern, and it was great that it came with some toiletries and kitchen supplies. Communication with the host was excellent and it was easy to find and access the property. Perfect for a relaxing weekend with friends or family! Not a big deal but it would have been amazing to have some extra pots and pans as it took us a long time to cook up breakfast for 5 people with just one frying pan and tray. Along with that, it was the perfect amount of seating (couch / dining table) for us but I can imagine with only one or two more people it would have been squishy! None of this impacted our stay hugely but I feel they would add even more excellence to such a lovely home.

In one bedroom downstairs ( one with cot) the wall radiator leaked and caused quite a wet patch around on the carpet.

• Andrew (9/5): Superb - The Peaceful Country Home was in a beautiful location, very clean, spacious and comfortable. It is ideal for extended family as we were, or a group of friends to congregate and relax. A few minor things would top this accommodation. Hand towels were not available. Some sink cloths to wipe benches would be helpful. The hinges on the door leading onto the lovely wrap around verandah need fixing. The driveway obviously is a small problem that would probably be difficult to fix. We have a small car (Mazda 3) and managed okay but long term this needs consideration.

It wasn't just the lovely house in a lovely location but the thoughtfulness behind all the amenities provided. For a family on the go we had everything we needed to keep going. It was a pity that we were only there for one night.
• Anonymous (9/5): Gorgeous property, would love to stay there again. - It’s in a beautiful area, so quiet and peaceful. It’s a very clean and comfortable house. The wrap around balcony was stunning and it feels like you’re in a treehouse when you’re upstairs in the living areas. The driveway is the only drawback. If you’re driving into the driveway from the top of the sloping road it is fine, coming from the bottom of the road tho is a little difficult. The description of the driveway from the owners of the property already told us to drive slow tho so we were expecting it.

• Tayla (8/5): A beautiful place. Would recommend and would stay again. - A beautiful home. Very clean and neat. Multiple toilets/bathrooms which was great for staying with seven people. Loved that there was a proper solid cot rather then a porta cot. Would of loved more outdoor seating.

There were six adults staying here, and it was great. The small things we didn’t expect, some shortbread biscuits, muesli bars milk and assorted cereal. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, and will be keeping this property on my list for further getaways. I have to give the property manager/owner a huge Thank You, I asked about an iron as we couldn’t find one, within a couple of hours there was a brand new iron and board left at the front door. You saved the day.

• Sara (9/5): Lovely clean and comfortable property, beautiful setting and very relaxing - location was fantastic- was so clean and modern and had everything you could need for amenities and lots of room for us all - The hosts were great in communication and the beds were very comfortable! Didn’t have any blankets - but once the heating kicked in you didn’t need them. We didn’t bother calling the hosts over it as it wasn’t a huge thing for us - However we probably wouldn’t have turned the heating on if there were blankets (also my daughter likes weight on her to sleep - we improvised so she was fine!) The driveway entry was also tricky - scraping the bottom if you didn’t enter / exit on a specific angle. Just something to be aware about
