Het persoonlijke welkom, de gedekte tafel en het haardvuur. Super host. De extra schoonmaakkosten waren even een tegenvaller. Voor de rest zeer goed.

• Holly (9/5): - The venue is absolutely stunning and a well designed home. Fully equipped with utensils and appliances. Even toys were available. Loved the staff and friendliness. Simply that the fire pit is a shared area and when the fire is going the smoke comes into the bedroom which means that the windows need to be closed causing it to be a little hot when sleeping.

• Olaf (9/5): We felt welcome and enjoyed our last night in Costa Rica before driving to the airport the next day - The country house is a house outside of Cartago with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room with a fireplace and a kitchen. The view is indeed quite nice overlooking most of Cartago and providing very different views within a short time. Seeing the city by day and by night makes a huge difference as do the ever changing clouds. One moment you see a beautiful valley in the sunshine and a bit later you're on the same level as the clouds moving over the city. The welcome was great, the housekeeper had even provided an air mattress allowing one of us to sleep in the living room. The temperatures during our stay end of August were around 23 degrees Celsius during the day and 19 degrees Celsius during the night. This sounds cooler than it actually felt. We also lit the fireplace that had been beautifully prepared by the housekeeper which gave us some extra warmth during the later evening after we had returned from our dinner. We chose the place mainly, because all hotel options in the city seemed to be either next to a loud street or the train track, which is running through the city. Just check the reviews of any hotel in the city and you will quickly see what I mean. So this country house seemed to be the only option capable of sleeping 4 people comfortably and quietly. Which turned out to be the right choice for us. We also felt very welcome. The dinner table had been nicely prepared and the housekeeper was super friendly and helpful. There were only minor things that weren't ideal: - The linen for the beds had a few stains. The type that remains after washing them, so it wasn't really bad. - The neighbor house also seemed to use the washing machine next to the living room and the bedroom with the two single beds. So we were enjoying the sound of the washing machine and later the dryer running until 11 pm. Also no biggie and the neighbor had asked us if he could finish his laundry and we told him that he should please be finished by 11 pm, but nonetheless it was a bit unexpected to have other people use the appliances next to our house. - The housekeeper, who is living in another house about 100 meters further down the lot, seemed to work on his car engine and thus had it revving up a few times pretty early in the morning (some time between 6 am and 7 am). It wasn't really loud (especially not compared to some of our other experiences in Costa Rica) but enough to wake me up in the morning. So I wondered, why couldn't this wait at least until 8 am or later? Again, none of these things were really bad and maybe we were just unlucky with the timing and it's not something that's happening on a regular basis.
