Guest Reviews
- Helen (10/5): We found the apartment very clean. Loved the proximity to everything we wanted. Arriving in the dark and trying to find - Close to cbd, South bank . All the facilities we required. Maybe a hair dryer in both bathrooms would be better. Security was first class. Finding the right place for recyclables
- Deborah (10/5): We enjoyed everything and will definitely come back. - Location was excellent, apartment was spotless, view was amazing. As mentioned in previous reviews, the bike rack and key lock box were hard to locate with only pictures.
Had we been told it was on the road side of the W Hotel , it would have been less frustrating.
- susan (9/5): Enjoyable stay very comfortable - It's in a great position for getting to the town and shops. Very near the bridges to cross the river. A really good position for everything.
It's a very modern apartment. Good showers, air-conditioning and kitchen appliances.
The recreation areas are good lots of room outside and a connection to the W hotel next door. The swimming pool is amazing and warm. I used this facility most mornings. The key box was a little hard to find at first. Only one key so if you want another key please state this when you are booking. Also we stayed for 10 days so asked for extra towels which were provided.
- christel (9/5): Other than the doona sandwich….PERFECT THANK YOU 🙏 - Everything 🫶🏼😍
Except …………1 thing all B and Bs seem to be doing ….. The doona sandwich between two sheets is unhygienic .
I hate .. hate , this practice .
I cannot understand it…
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - Central location. easy access, great view and clean.
- Chantel (4/5): Annoyed and disappointed. - Location Construction work directly below that went into the morning so no sleep.
Parking, lift access and the staff were not helpful. It's very confusing and not very well described. Having to park at another hotel to collect keys and staff at this hotel were fed up with it. So I'm guessing this happens all the time.
I paid for parking in advance and was lucky enough to get the last spot. They aren't allocated for you.
I didn't find it pleasant and for the price I paid, I was pretty disappointed. The photos online are old. Once you check into the room the place is run down, the toilet was broken and had tape across it. Scuff marks everywhere on the wall, touch up paint jobs not finished & hair in the shower. And then at checkout, we had to take our rubbish with us but there were no bins in the building so we had to take it in the car. On checking out the process is again painful. You can't drop off keys until you have swiped out of the car park with the FOB. Then you have to park illegally to run back to the hotel to drop off the key in the letterbox. This was a very stressful stay for me and won't be going back.
- Eniah (6/5): Pleasant - Very close to the city center The check in is very hard .. looking forward the keys took a long time.
- Lianne (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect, the view was amazing, especially at night. Had to park about 11min walk away, wasn't too bad, closer available overnight parking options would be a great addition. Nothing we didn't like.
- Catherine (6/5): Pleasant - Check in process,
- Scanes (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (8/5): Enjoyed location views apartment was very clean comfortable - Fabulous location ! Getting keys for apartment ! Nightmare !
- Marc (6/5): I wanted to love this property, but it fell short of expectations. - The view was magnificent. The location was ideal. The smart elevators were very convenient. Obtaining the key from a lock box attached to a bike rack, not located directly at the property, felt uncomfortable. This was a very new, high end apartment building, but it felt very shoddy. The master bath shower overflowed outside the glass doors. The faucet handle was very loose. There was tape on the flushing mechanism as if it was under repair. The second bathroom pocket door was also broken, with a sign saying so. There were no bottle opener, hand towels, paper towels, or napkins provided. These are basics that are usually present. There was only one television in common area; nothing in the master bedroom. Again, very unusual for a high end property. Multiple times there was trash in the hallway and elevator, as if it was not well-maintained.
- Zakir (10/5): Exceptional - Very good 🙌 Very good 👍
- Gordon (9/5): Superb - Location for what we needed for the next morning was excellent Parking was very expensive at Wilsons and communication on how we could have lessened that would have been well received
- Colby (10/5): Exceptional - The room was tidy and functional, had all necessary facilities, and the pool area was splendid Nothing.
- Matt (8/5): Above average - Very close to the city, nice modern property The construction below was continuous, the second bedroom had some cleaning issues
- Dale (10/5): Great apartment with a great view, would return! - The apartment was spacious, tidy and super comfortable with a great balcony.
- Karoly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Geoffrey (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Good Value and Location - Good location for Queen Street Mall and surrounding area Access for taxi drop off and pick up
- Tara (8/5): Had a lovely catch up with my daughters, my mum and sister - The appartment was perfect for our stay The logistics of getting the key when you have a car, and parking. Cost me $200+ for parking- which was probably on me as I didn’t look into parking before I left, I just assumed a parking space came with the appartment
- Stephen (4/5): Information from the host was very limited and needs to be a lot better - Location was ok That it stated there was parking included but there was not and I had to pay $110 for the night (was charged for 2 days)
- Neville (10/5): Exceptional -
- C (4/5): Needs a major clean - Good location although overnight roadworks, which is not the fault of the owner.
Late check-out to 11 am rather than 10 am, although this took a lot of emails and negotiation. The apartment needs a good clean. I suspect it is cleaned by the owner, rubbish under the bed, dust everywhere, hair in the bathroom, dirty toilet and floors.
The smoke detector had a shower cap over it, which would not meet code and the bathroom door was broken. There was one coat hanger for the entire apartment. I had to go and buy coat hangers and cleaning wipes. If I had the time I would have checked out, but I was worried I would not get my money back. They also wanted a $300 deposit, only visible after booking. If I knew this was an Airbnb, I would not have booked it for these very reasons, these issues are really hard to address when there is no reception or property manager. The towels were paper thin and the size of a large hand-towel.
The apartment is nice, but very cheaply fitted out and needs a major clean. This is not a luxury apartment with these issues and not suitable for 4 people based on furniture, kitchen items and a broken bathroom door.
- Michael (6/5): Ok- wouldn’t rushed to book. - Spacious and clean. The location was inaccurate to main central points. Finding the key was not clear at all. Internet wasn’t available. TV was not working. Could watch anything. Also a deposit fee is expected, not sure it’s legal to charge that in Australia…
- Bernadette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (7/5): Great views, difficult access - Amazing views and very close to everything we needed Getting into the apartment was very tricky. The “key lockbox” is actually padlocked to a bike rack around the corner from the apartment. The instructions said to stop at the entrance of the W hotel and go get the key. The hotel staff would not let us stop. So we had to go into the carpark and get a ticket then try to sort it out later.
Although booking.com said parking was available I didn’t realise I had to book and pay separately. I did this an hour before we were due at the property. The instructions were emailed but I didn’t get them until well after we arrived.
It did get sorted out but cost us an hour or two of stress. I rang the number provided and they did help, but the key situation is a nightmare.
The apartment itself is fine. Supermarket toiletries are provided. There is a gym and a swimming pool which are both lovely. The main drawcard is the amazing view.
- Kylie (10/5): The stay was fantastic , prime location to everything . - The location was in a prime spot for everything. There wasn't anything we didn't like .
- Tanya (9/5): We recommend this apartment for a perfect stay in the city. - The apartment was beautifully fitted out and furnished and the view of the river and Southbank was amazing. It was a very comfortable apartment for 4 adults. The car park was very confusing because there were very few signs to direct us to our car park and The One entrance from the car park.
- Denis (7/5): Pain but soon forgotten - Nice apartment It was a like an AirBNB, I had to hunt for the key, so had to tow all my luggage about 150m to the key lock and back. That was wrong. I thought I was booking a hotel.
- Amanda (3/5): DONT BOTHER - The view over the Brisbane river and Southbank was pretty. Room was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable.
Easy to find. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to stay!
I placed the parking card for this property in a mailbox as instructed and the host accessed me of not doing it. When asked for them to review CCTV they told me it would be too much labour so basically easier to charge me more money to replace the card that I put in the box! SO annoyed!
Far from the relaxing night away that we had hoped for. Nothing but stress.
Lots of construction going on which made it noisy and very busy, traffic wise.
Really hard to get keys and parking. Having to go to a lock box on the Main Street for keys was really inconvenient. There was no parking to be able to do all the things you needed to do just to get your keys and parking card.
Luckily the concierge at the W was feeling"nice" as she said, and allowed me to park there for a minute.
We paid extra for parking - which you then had to swap buildings, carrying bags through that precinct in the morning to and from hotels, not ideal and not my idea of relaxing.
Bedding was comfortable but pillows were way too soft and could use an update. Towels in the ensuite bathroom were rough and scratching on my body, not the nicest feeling.
Staff at the front desk at The One residence, were not at all nice or helpful and looked at me like I was poor.
- Trevor (8/5): Very good -
- Laurent (9/5): Superb - Big, well equipped apartment with washing machine and dryer
Comfortable beds
Great location
Amazing view The shades don't cut off the light well enough in the morning
Lighting in the bathroom could be more tame
Needs more cutlery (only 4 were available)
- Bronwyn (8/5): Very good -
- Aggie (9/5): Superb -
- Marion (5/5): Comfortable, but complexity of gaining access was a major issue for us. - The location was terrific. Beds were very comfortable. Nice to be able to open bedroom windows. The pool was very welcome after our efforts to find keys. The collection of keys and parking ticket was very complex. The instructions arrived late the previous night and while comprehensive, it took me a while to download them in a form that was large enough to be read. The kitchen equipment was a bit minimal. The building is currently surrounded by noisy roadworks.
- Jodie (8/5): Very good -
- Abhinay (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Modern, great river views, centre of everthing - Exceptional - views position feel
Had breakfast at Iconic, 5 minutes walk, perfect if not raining Nothig
- Britt (10/5): I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. - Our apartment was very clean and modern and well stocked with extra little touches like salt & pepper (it's the little things that count). The view over Southbank was, as promised, spectacular. The beds were super comfortable. The apartment and balcony were a good size. The pool for the hotel was heated, which is ideal for winter. There were heaps of lifts so we never had to wait to long to get one. It was hard to find the lockbox to retrieve the keys at first but once we saw it it was a bit like "how did we miss it?!". There was construction work right under us which was very noisy through the night, however I think that is like much of the CBD at the moment.
