Guest Reviews
- Katharine (10/5): Great location, beautiful old house full of character, lovely outside space - Great location in heart of old town but also beautifully peaceful. Charming old house, full of character and lovely courtyard garden
- Andre (10/5): This beautifully decorated historic home in the old city of Nicosia is full of charm and character. - The house is historic and charming. Decorated with a quirky art and antiques. Very centrally located inside the historic old city. Loved everything about it.
- Virginia (1/5): No fair treatment here - The kitchen had too much 'stuff' in it. It was a very crowded kitchen. There were way too many knick-knacks about. The tables were unusable. There were not enough outlets for today's electronics. The second bedroom is really an attic room more suited for small children. And the worst thing of all, the water stopped working the night before our stay ended - so we had no way to wash up, shower, or flush the toilet. We were only offered bowls of water to try and carry up stairs too narrow to do that. It was an impossible situation. We requested a refund for the day we were without water, but were refused. Worst hosting we've ever had.
- Tanja (10/5): a house full of beauty and historical charm - An incredible house full of history and beauty, we can't believe anyone would dare to rent it. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, trying to imagine the people and their lives in that house throughout history.
The location of the house is excellent, within the old walls and close to the old part of the city, Ledra Street and the border crossing into the Turkish part of the city.
Unfortunately, we only spent 1 night in the house, but preparing breakfast, making coffee and enjoying the garden gave us, at least for a short while, the feeling that it was our house and that we were part of the rich history.
We infinitely appreciate the experience of being able to stay in such a place. Everything is perfect.
- Anna (10/5): The host, Paolo, was very responsive to my messages and very pleasant. - Location is excellent. Within walking distance of all sights in the old town.
- Zamani (10/5): -
- daniel (9/5): séjour dans une maison musée au sein du plus beau quartier de la vieille ville - très agréable de pouvoir déjeuner dans la cour Laisser un peu de place au milieu des objets collectionnés pour pouvoir poser ses affaires
- andrew (8/5): Highly recommend if you want as close to traditional - It was an exceptional experience of a bygone era that made me appreciate my heritage even more. Parking was difficult and often had to wait or park illegally. Property was rather noisy however that’s to be expected. Downstairs suffered from heat especially as it does not have air conditioning
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nino (6/5): Pleasant - Very good location, spacious and beautiful house with nice outdoor area. The house is not very functional (lots of objects everywhere, kitchen ustensiles difficult to find, very high bed if you’re shorter than 170cm, lighting not intuitive etc). It feels like somebody is living here full time and renting out the house from time to time, leaving it as-is before returning.
Value for money is on the low side.
- Richard (6/5): traditional stone house - Was a traditional charming house close to a few restaurants. It was a 2 nights weekend birthday break for my wife, and it was agreed that we could check in between 2pm-3pm. We arrived at 3pm to collect the key and found that the property wasn't serviced and cleaned since the previous people. Wasn't a great start to our weekend.
I contacted them to inform, and then the cleaner arrived shortly after, but stayed until at least 6.30pm at our property and then continued to service the next place which was joined to our courtyard until about 7.30pm.
We only had a short stay, and booked the entire house so we could have privacy and peace.
The house is a very charming place to stay but, should you want to use it for a self catering holiday accommodation found it very cluttered and unable to use the kitchen cupboards for our own food. The same in the bedroom.
The stairs in the house are very steep and narrow.
The 4 poster bed is so so high, I am 6ft 5in and managed to get in but my wife struggled at 5ft.6ins and used the little stool at the side of the bed, not ideal. So again spoilt our stay.
Hope this helps.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Bridget (10/5): Loved it - Beautiful house in best part of Nicosia . Fabulous outside area to sit and relax . Lovely communicative and super helpful owners .
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Newsteam (10/5): Exceptional - stunning authentic historical house in the old centre of the ancient city, the best equipped place I have ever stayed in, a privelege to appreciate. Fine linen, lovely beds, perfect bathroom and wonderful kitchen, they've thought of everything! Lovely books to browse too - a proper time travelling experience, with all the comforts of today. Daughter was transfixed. Peaceful neighborhood, with the fascinating walk close to the border zone, to Ledra street, and surrounded by the unique local history and architecture
Can't wait to bring my husband next time, he will love it.
Host is lovely, so welcoming and informative. wish I had booked for a longer stay! Will have to return instead
- Jonathan (10/5): Marvellous stay in traditional house in quiet neighbourhood inside the city walls. - Wonderful spacious restored historical house. Loved the big courtyard with the lemon tree. Easy stroll into central Nicosia. Would recommend Pandora bakery/supermarket for excellent cooked takeaway food. Nothing.
- Cotton (10/5): Beautiful house with a great deal of charm that gave us a fabulous base to discover the intriguing c - Great hosts who were very helpful in guiding us to various places and where very amenable when we required a quick doctor's visit.
- Sharron (10/5): Enchanting, serene and highly recommended - The hosts were super communicative and made check in very easy. The home itself is pure magic. Exceptionally beautiful and well maintained. It is a fully funcitioning home, making it very easy to cook meals and feel instantly comfortable. I travelled with my dog, who loved the courtyard and it was safe and easy to walk him to a little park very nearby. Lastly, the location can't be beat in terms of experiencing the Walled Old City.
- Koula (9/5): Authentic Cypriot experiencep - Wonderful host, an amazing interior decoration, like a museum, cute courtyard for a drink, quiet at night. Good kitchen facilities. Comfy lounge. Interesting walk to the night life area. Steep staircase to bedrooms, just have to be careful
