• Cynthia (5/5): Lovely home, warm friendly host, but some issues... - I traveled with my three adult sisters. The home was lovely, very spacious, furnishings were comfortable, and it was nice to have 2 tables to use. The home is located in a busy family neighborhood with lots of children and a few parks. There is a grocery store and drug store very close by which was convenient. The host was very nice and responsive to the various issues we encountered while in his home. Communication by email and text was best and he responded quickly. Unfortunately we felt like the home was not fully prepared for guests. It looked like the housekeeping team did half of their job but did not finish perhaps?? 1. HEAT - when we arrived the heat was set very low and we could not figure out how to turn it up. After having a cold night, in the morning, the host helped to set the thermostat to a better setting and was very helpful. 2. WATER HEATER - on our first morning, when trying to shower, it was discovered that the "hot water" tap was giving cold water (less than lukewarm), no matter how long we let it run. The host came and turned up the water heater which eventually gave plenty of hot water. The water heater should have been set and ready to give hot water for guests arriving. 3. TOWELS - Only one of the three full bathrooms had a bath towel in it, and the rest of the bathrooms only had one hand towel each and they looked to be quite worn. There were no wash cloths anywhere to be found. We hunted around and discovered three bath towels in a hall closet, but no other towels. Later we discovered that the clothes dryer was stuffed full of clean white sheets and towels (the kind one would expect in a hotel). The home should have had the bathrooms prepared for guests with two bath towels, two hand towels, and two wash cloths each. The host did come quickly with brand new wash cloths when we let him know that there were none. 4. CLEANLINESS - The bathrooms and carpets seemed clean, but the kitchen was not. The floor was sticky (our shoes stuck to it in places) and there were dishes in the dishwasher that had been set to "rinse only" cycle, not clean. This made us doubt the cleanliness of the dishes in the cabinets too, so we felt like we had to put everything we used in the dishwasher and run it before we could use anything. 5. KITCHEN DISHES - the plates, cups, silverware is adequate. There were only very few pots and pans, no baking sheets/cake pans (we needed one.
