- Mario (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay , it was a beautiful home with a lot of character in a great location . - Loved the location , and beautiful appearance of the
home both internally and externally Nothing not to like
- Tamara (9/5): A beautiful cottage home, inside and out! A wonderful spot for a winter weekend getaway. - This large stone cottage was beautiful inside and out, and thoughtfully filled with all you could hope for on a cozy winter long weekend getaway!
The property owners/managers left many thoughtful little touches that made our stay comfortable, enjoyable and welcoming. Cute mini bouquets of fresh flowers were placed in little glass vases in every room, along with a very generous supply of books to the readers, cooks and bakers all happy. There was also a handwritten note with a complimentary bottle of wine from the local winery, which was a lovely gift and personal touch.
The food staples provided in the fridge and pantry, and well-stocked utensils, bakeware, and appliances in the kitchen were also very generous for a short holiday rental home — we felt so inspired by the cottage and surroundings, cold weather, cookbooks, and complimentary supply of juicy fresh apples that we made apple pie during our long weekend stay. We enjoyed it rugged up in warm, cozy blankets on the comfy leather sofas by the wood fireplace. There was also a small selection of games and playing cards provided, another thoughtful touch for guests to enjoy time together by the fireplace.
The bedrooms were generously sized, simply but nicely styled. Heated blankets for all mattresses, and separate central air conditioning systems for each floor of the home were also nice options for staying toasty during out Winter stay.
The hosts were attentive, quick to respond to communications, and accommodated last minute changes to our dates and guest numbers without any issues, which was much appreciated.
Highly recommend this lovely home. We will definitely come back again with family or friends! :) The beds / mattresses were on the smaller and firmer side, which didn’t appeal to all guests in our party, but also didn’t significantly impact our sleep or stay.
Two bathrooms worked well for our group of 3 adults, but might not be as workable for a larger group of 6-8 adults, large family, or more than one couple travelling with small children.
There was a yappy dog in a neighbouring home that we could hear in the main bedroom, but it tended to exclusively bark during the daytime, seemingly when it heard/saw something nearby. It didn’t both us too much, but thought it worth mentioning in case this is the sort of thing that could ruin your trip.
- Lara (10/5): Our stay at The Croft was everything we had hoped for and more! - We loved everything about the property. It was beautifully furnished, the location was excellent and it was perfect for our weekend get away.
- Mary (8/5): Expensive property with a few limitations - Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were fine. Fireplaces were welcome but we were surprised given the huge amount we paid that there was a suggestion we should go to Bunnings for firewood. Felt uneasy about the spytec outside watching our every move. Kitchen was small with very little area to prepare food. Bathrooms were outdated - showers especially unrelaxing. Was not any lounge chair I felt comfortable in - all too low. Furniture was not of the standard expected.
- Angela (10/5): Absolutely stunning cottage and would recommend to everyone. - Beautiful warm and cosy cottage that felt like home from the very second we drove up No serviettes but everything else was perfect
