Guest Reviews
- Dang (6/5): Pleasant - The house has fairly good furniture with nice kitchen but we didn’t feel comfortable because (1) neighborhood areas look unsafe for walking during days and definitely unsafe for walking outside when it’s dark; (2) lights of the yard for security at night were too bright for sleeping, the house needs new curtains covering windows to shade light; (3) main door lock also needs reinforcement. The host didn’t respond to any of my messages and concerns regarding the broken gate door. - Me_travel (6/5): A comfortable and well-located stay, but cleanliness and communication can be improved - Great location with easy access to amenities.
Lavish parking space and decent internet speed.
Well-equipped apartment with everything needed for a family stay.
Peaceful neighbourhood and a 7-Eleven nearby. Floor felt sticky and seemed unclean despite looking fine.
No response to messages sent for clarification on directions and door lock.
- Atal (1/5): Scam - Scam scam scam! Nobody is at the house. I texted them and called them, nobody answer and nobody responded on my message. A neighbour told me that this has happened before to someone. I am in contact with booking to have refund. Dont book!.
- Scattolin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bynum (10/5): One of the cutest and most comfortable places to stay in LA! - I loved the gated front yard, felt very homey! AND the cute litter of kittens that roamed!! There was really nothing not to like about the property! Beautiful house and loved the set up!
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (1/5): I will take this to the media. I’m going to give a 1-star rating because this place is absolutely unsafe. It’s life-thre - Nothing seemed wrong at first — everything looked fine. But once you’re there, they’re not very responsive, especially when someone trespasses in the apartment and even comes into your room in the middle of the night with a key! What the hell?? We had to call 911 and the police, but by morning, we still didn’t hear anything from the host! It’s not safe at all! Someone with a tattoo came into our apartment holding a key. They were sneaking around outside for almost 2 hours, from 1 AM, and we couldn’t sleep! Seriously — this is a scam. And when we realized it, they had already entered our room during the day while we were out, because our luggage was a complete mess! Everything was taken out of our bags. Crazy…
How could a stranger get a key to our room if there wasn’t some kind of cooperation with the host? And even now, as I’m writing this, there’s still no response from the host whatsoever.
- Shehilah (9/5): Superb - On-site parking is a big plus! 2 separate rooms is also a big plus. The neighborhood.
- Focus (10/5): I enjoy it it was quite - The spacing I liked everything
- Rohit (10/5): Next time we come to LA, we are coming to this stay again. - The stay was exceptional. It had all the amenities, was clean and properly maintained. The kitchen had all types of utensils, microwave, oven ... which made our lives so much easy. The bathroom had multiple rolls, body-wash and shampoo. There was ironing-board and iron in the closet. The living room was very spacious with big sofa and TV. Wi-fi was working properly.
The host was very kind to immediately help us with check-in because we were having some issue with the keys. I seriously don't know what else one could ask for. Perfect 10/10 There is one bathroom, which can be a minor issue for a big group. We could manage without any problem.
- Nino (8/5): Very good -
- Grace (6/5): Pleasant - Comfortable and clean. Gate with a code and door code for extra safety Kind of a bad area.
- Tatiana (6/5): extremely dirty aria with a strange people. - I couldn't get hold of the Host I couldn't get hold of the Host, so it has to be a phone number to reach him out.
- Shea (10/5): Great home and felt safe - Loved the beds, parking and how clean it was. Perfect for our group. Definitely will be back.
- Ashley (9/5): Superb -
- Daysi (2/5): Place was nice, property owner very unprofessional!! - Nice place When I got there the unit I was supposed to occupy was already in use, the property owner took long to answer my calls. Then she gave me a different unit with less beds than I had reserved. Terrible she is very unprofessional. Once I was able to get in, there was supposed to be remote to open the gate. Nothing was there so I texted the owner and she stated “are you sure you checked” she then said I will be there at 9:15 pm. Supposed to check in at 7!! Luckily one of the other guest in a different unit opened the gate for me.
- Chuan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yanni (4/5): Lovely but areas for improvement are evident - This converted house had a lot of charm. The property grounds were enjoyable, and I like that parking was included. The area is residential, but off a main street with some stores, etc. Lastly, the host was very responsive and friendly. I would love to rank my stay higher, but due to several areas for improvement, I can't. The blankets in the second bedroom were not laundered and reeked of body odor. There was quite a bit of dust on lesser visible ledges, decorations, and lamps. The kitchen smelled strange, like the appliances need to be pulled out from the wall and cleaned behind. The biggest issue was spotting a cockroach in the bathroom on our last night's stay. Needless to say, we were happy to depart after that discovery. As you may know, cockroaches can be hitchhikers, and no one wants to bring home that sort of souvenir. Simply stated, this place just needs a deep clean and perhaps an extermination treatment or two to be great. I know it can be difficult to turn apartments over quickly between guests, but some things shouldn't be skipped. And occassoonal deep cleans are a necessity!
- Huang (5/5): Misleading house description, short of bathroom - Inaccurate and misleading description!!! This aprtment only have 1 bathroom which is inconvenient for my group. The introduction does not tell anything about this. The introduction and the picture shows as if we own the entire house, but in fact, we only own one apartment locates on the second floor of this house.
There are two homeless people living on the small nameless street at the back of this property. we have to drive from the nameless street inside the parking lot, which is quite uncomfortable!
- Zuchowski (9/5): Superb -
- Jai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daleesia (10/5): So cute and comfortable, this is now my go to spot in LA. - Love the easy check in and check out. It was very nice and clean! The beds were a 10/10, they were so soft and comfortable. Really is a great place to see.
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - The beds are very comfortable and the house has all the necessary utensils. Overall, I’m satisfied. There are amazing palm trees in the garden. It’s conveniently located—only 30 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Universal. The area felt a little unsafe.
- Adams (8/5): Clean and close to Dowtown LA. - The suite is very spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The beds are very comfy. Good location for easy access to LA Live.
- Elaine (8/5): It was comfortable with good amenities - Comfortable and spacious Not a good area
- Nadia (8/5): Overall very happy. - Practical for 3 friends staying together.
Had tv, wifi, necessities Beds were not comfortable
No safe in room
- Quiton (6/5): Pleasant - Location A/C was not working to it full function
- Leaann (1/5): Scammed the owners never reached out to me but still took my credit card payment. -
- Alison (9/5): Good apartment had all the facilities required. - Gated parking next to the property. Loved the friendly cat that was always greeting us when leaving the apartment. Location for us but that all depends where you want to be in LA.
- Lena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luke (8/5): Clean and spacious apartment, great for families - Parking was great, very secure property in a convenient location. Spacious apartment with great WiFi and good kitchen facilities. We had an issue with ac in one room but the host was very quick to respond and get it fixed. Washing machine and dryer were available, but were located in a small utility room downstairs and no instructions were left on how to use / find these. It might be a good idea to include a basic welcome pack with some simple orientation instructions to deal with this. Neighbourhood is quite noisy and without double glazing you do hear this.
- Erik (5/5): Passable - Booking was very accomodative addressing our complaint, which was not picked up by the owner of the house. The appartment was not cleaned upon our arrival. The owner did not react at all. So, upon arrival we had to wash bedsheets, bathroom, clean the whole place, with a 9 hour jetlag. The cleaning lady seen after few days, 1stly denied the absence of cleaning. Only after showing pictures she agreed. Still, no refund was given to us (luckily Booking self did).
Lack of ownership from owner and staff.
While the house is nice, the neighborhood is bad. Poeple live on street, broken cars and household in the streets.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlene (1/5): terrible! - no a/c, no hot water throughout, large indoor plant in bucket full of mold, no washer, no coffee maker, no mugs, bugs in refrigerator, very hot inside unit, owner nonresponsive, no car gate opener
- Taposh (8/5): Very good -
- Yue (10/5): great place for family - It is located in the downtown LA area, the surroundings are not very nice, once you enter the property, it is a gem. Rooms are nice and clean, the beds are comfy, the kitchen has all the gadgets for cooking, the courtyard is full of green plants, gated parking, landry is available. We had a great time staying there.
- Tammy (9/5): Great accommodation, would stay there again. - Location was great, large enough for 4 people. Secure Car park on-site. Suggestion to clean the floors, we found then very dusty.
Ensure you have a back up key for the guest, as we experienced the electronic key pad stopped working and we were calling the mangers and knocking on doors at midnight.
- Juni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johanna (9/5): Superb - Nice apartment. Washing machine and dryer. Good parking place. This is not any complaint, but may be good to know: there were no sheets, but i did not find any promise of those , so.. :)
- Jessica (9/5): Superb -
- Jeff (8/5): Very good - Spacious, clean, comfortable beds. Quiet street. Nicest house in the neighborhood. Will stay again. Nearby streets are filthy and have a large homeless population.
- Joseph (9/5): Superb - The place was clean and very safe. The wifi connection great, close to shops to get food and close to the city.
- Cleophus (8/5): Good place, rough area -
- June (9/5): Great opportunity to explore downtown LA - close to Crypto Stadium- 20 mins walk from the basketball!! - Spacious, airy & close to attractions No toaster - but that was really minor - it’s a great spot to stay
- Anonymous (9/5): It was a good experience overall, would recommend. - Very tidy and nice place all around. Instructions very clear and owners were very responsive. Area is iffy, a homeless man was bothering us as we were entering back into the lot on our first night.
- Quiton (10/5): Exceptional - The conditions was great for needs of the stay. The location like stores and restaurants was close by. The remote for parking was removed by another occupied but got a replacement very quickly. And could not ck in a hour early but booking.com asked that question.
- Radel (10/5): Excellent A highly recommended, location good for easy access to many locations - aloha - Very well equipped for any length of stay. Very clean and property manager reached out to us to insure everything was ok during our stay No complaints
- Catherine (9/5): Excellent location and value for money - Excellent location
- Alena (9/5): Superb - Good house with all stuff that you need in the kitchen, bathroom, rooms. Big rooms. Comfy beds.
Big dinning table, fridge. The floor was dirty. My baby's white socks were black.
The location is 15 minutes from metro and you need to go through dirty streets of local area with piles of garbage on every corner and smell of it.
- Victoria (8/5): Very good -
- Daniela (10/5): Awesome spot for busy LA - This is an awesome spot very close to everything. Comfy beds, everything that's needed in the kitchen, great outdoor area and private parking in the back was so much better than street parking! Absolutely nothing
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Raphaël (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sean (9/5): Superb - Location was very close to downtown, and would have been very convenient had the event we were attending remained downtown. The property was very nice, both inside and the yard; certainly one of the nicer on the street. The secure parking facility to the rear, accessed via the alley, was a real plus. Also, we appreciated the laundry facilities. Nothing regarding the property. It was noisy most nights, but we were visiting close to the Independence Day celebration, so, fireworks. The neighborhood was "uneven", maybe, with lots of homeless/transients. Some sidewalks were impossible to use, as they were, essentially, encampments. Didn't feel dangerous, but, as we weren't accustomed to this on a regular basis, we found it a bit dismaying.
- Erick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernice (9/5): Superb - We were in apartment 3 on the second floor. We could park in de back behind a gate. The apartment was great. It was well equipped and the house and garden are lovely. It was also really nice that we could do laundry. We would definitely book this apartment again. The neighborhood is kind of sketchy but we didn’t feel unsafe there. I wouldn’t go for a walk at night but during the day it’s fine. We would recommend to put a drying rack in the apartment.
- Christian (9/5): Superb -
- Lynda (10/5): Great place to stay very homie. - The room was very clean The owners were very nice. The location was great not to far from the LA Convention Center. It was walking distance. The bathroom was somewhat small but still very nice.
- Anonymous (10/5): Great little place ! - Great location as daughter at FIDM & there for graduation with family There was a larger black Tahoe who did not know how to pull all the way into parking, we had a large Armada, so tricky getting in & out when they were 4 feet out from fence!
- Huafeng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lopez (9/5): Superb - Comfortable ,close to downtown. The street smelled like pee because there were homeless people.
- Richard (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the amount of space and onsite parking. - Beautiful remodeled older home that was clean and had plenty of room. On-site parking was wonderful and check in was smooth and easy! Couch was uncomfortable with some kind of steel bar that was painful, table light in bedroom did not work, living room lamp did not have a switch so in order to use had to be plugged in or unplugged from wall. Bed was very low to ground, may just be something I disliked and the motion sensor in bathroom was bright/loud in middle of the night.
- Mary (10/5): Very nice, well kept up, clean, quiet B and B - Security; cleanliness; easy check in/checkout. On-site parking. Quiet. Spacious for three people. Would definitely recommend and stay again. The mattress in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable.
These are not dislikes. Just friendly suggestions: a non slip bathtub mat for us old folks. A large rubber stopper or basin to wash dishes. A toaster ? Maybe we just couldn’t find it.
- Tünde (8/5): Good house in the poor neighbourhood. - The guest house is very cosy and the owner solved the electricity problem fast. Thank you very much! I can recommend it to everyone. The neighbourhood, unfortunately, is full with homeless people. If you want to see the poverty of L.A. this is the best place for it. It is really a unique experience.
- Yi (9/5): Superb - Great location!
Great to have private parking.
- Divyarthi (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Enjoyable -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - It was a cute space and house. Loved that it was gated with a key fab. Loved the garden area. Appreciated the washer and dryer that was accessible. There were not extra blankets for the person sleeping on the couch. There was not enough of each serving utensils for six people. Ran out of toilet paper. Basically, just needs to be better equipped for six people staying there.
- Yi (10/5): Good sleep, easy access to surrounding resources during the day. - Very high mobility and utilization, suitable for a group of friends composed of men to stay together.
There is a laundromat nearby, and the clerk is friendly. 7-11 and other convenience stores are nearby!
The wifi is very convenient! no
- Sharlene (7/5): Good - The property had character as an older home with nice garden and it was spacious and secure with locked gate and gated private parking . It had a full kitchen with complimentary coffee tea and bottled water. Good sized TV in living room with Roku streaming. plenty of beds, and most household amenities available. Bathroom was small and toilet barely fit behind the door. the apartment had fruit flies in the kitchen/living area. The Keurig machine didn’t work because it needed to be descaled (cleaned).
- Thitipong (10/5): Will consider to stay again if visiting LA - This place is quiet and good for rest / sleeping. The house, room, and garden are very nice.
It locates near down town but not too busy. Another good thing is private parking space easy to go in and out or move our luggages.
We stayed at this place for 5-6 nights while attend the conference at LA convention and also travel to nearby places such as Santa Monica, Hollywood, Disneyland, and Joshua national park. Nothing
- Giovanni (7/5): Good - The private parking, the proximiry to downtown, the bedrooms. The noise from outside, helicopters at night. Windows aren't soundproof.
- Jean (7/5): a very nice secure place in an area we would not want to walk in at night, but was close to everything downtown. very n - clean, easily accessible, comfortable beds, secure parking, easy to navigate needed more kitchenware, very few pots and pans, need more ice cube trays, no basic condiments, not enough things like ziplocks and tinfoil. we wanted to cook and found it difficult
- Rebecca (7/5): Good -
- Anikeith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The beauty of the house. The bed
- Maren (10/5): Exceptional - Great place! With restaurants and grocieries nearby, good private parking and nice appartment with all facilities!
- Anonymous (10/5): cozy beautiful and spacious very very satisfied with our stay service was perfect would recommend it to anyone over all - everything it was perfect !!! there is nothing wrong at all perfect location perfect space will definitely book again and again !!!!
- Coral (10/5): clean, organized, and convenient. would love to stay again in the future. - location was great, host was always easy to communicate with, house was clean and spacious. nothing
- Marvin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Víctor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harold (7/5): Good -
- Vera (8/5): Very good -
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional - The house was very cute and the owners were very helpful
- Italo (8/5): Very good -
- Laurie (8/5): Straightforward and Pleasant - The Red Guest House was clean, comfortable and centrally located. Basic accommodations, but safe and welcoming. It was easy to catch a bus to the places we wanted to visit. Christine was easy to communicate with and answered all our questions.
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional! - So much room! Felt like being at home!
- Thanii (8/5): Very good -
- Ines (5/5): secure place , hot room can’t sleep, customer service not good . - in my opinion was a secure place because the streets were very dangerous. was a private and safe Parkin. I don’t like that one of the room was very hot , I was not able to sleep all nite. Also, I don’t like the when we get there the person who opens the door need it to count how many we are. I was very disappointed and embarrassed with my family. I was visiting my moms brother he was there with us. he leaves close that’s the reason I look your place to be close where he lives!
- Li (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing environment.
