Guest Reviews
- Pieter (10/5): Fantastic - Very good and warm management. Special house to stay in beautiful surroundings. A must go. Nothing
- Md (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carter (10/5): Amazing community supported BnB, experience real Bhutan - I stayed here with my wife and twin babies (both less than 2). The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The local food was amazing and the room was perfect. We didn't want to leave and would go back in a heartbeat. It's a little way out of town and the road can be difficult but the experience and ethics of the place make it so worth it.
- Ambreen (8/5): Very good - Great location, awesome staff and hospitality. Dinner was exceptional. The bathroom was too cold. Adding more lights to the washroom strongly recommended.
- Antriksh (10/5): Exceptional -
- András (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful countryside experience here. It is located in a small village on the hill. The area is very quiet and calm. The host was super friendly and he shared the village cultural background. It made our stay here even more immersive. Highly recommend to order the traditional dinner there, because you'll have wonderful food made of fresh ingredients. N/A
- Janey (9/5): The host was extremely friendly as they had decorated our room as part of our honeymoon celebration. The host also share - Spacious, hospitable, heritage location
- Xu (10/5): Understand it’s in a small village, if you want to see more of the real Bhutan, this is a great place to visit! - Amazing view, great staff, and great view! The food may have been the best part!
- Unnikrishnan (9/5): Superb -
- Heike (10/5): Enchanting - my Shangri-La in Bhutan - True heritage place, hidden in the deepest country side, perfect to get close to the true spirit(s) of Bhutan, lovely landlady, remarkable food, a discovery for european senses Not applicable
- Luis (9/5): Beautiful traditional hotel in a lovely village high on a mountain outside Punakha - The hotel is set in an old house, once owned by a monk, with very traditional features and an altar on the second floor. The ambiance was great, and dinner and breakfast were excellent. Wangchuk, our host, was very knowledgable about the history of the place, the local cuisine, and Bhutan in general. The sleeping quarters are located at a separate building next to the old house. This hotel functions as a cooperative, so many people from the village work there, maintaining alive old traditions, and serving dishes that are no longer found elsewhere. The location is perfect to visit the two temples in the village by foot. Although the sleeping quarters are the newest part of the hotel, the shower did not work, and the creaky bathroom's door made a squeaking sound but did not stay open. I mentioned this to the manager, so I hope they will fix it for future clients. It will be a shame if they don't because the hotel is well worth a stay.
- Unnikrishnan (9/5): Traditional living if that is what you want. - Superb location in a Bhutan village and far from the crowds. Excellent food in traditional style. Bare minimum facilities with no frills. But this on whole well compensated.
- Apoorva (1/5): Bad -
- Pradeep (9/5): Excellent stay in a Bhutanese home - The property is located in a village away from the city and is run by a self-help group. The proceeds are shared with the villagers and thus support the local livelihoods. We stayed for one night and enjoyed it - it was like staying with a Bhutanese family in a typically local home (reaching the room on first floor required climbing a wooden staircase), had local cuisine (including some vegetarian dishes) and enjoyed the history behind the house as narrated by Mr Wangchuk, the manager. The staff was very helpful.
- Merve (9/5): Perfect stay for Bhutan experience - The food was great and very delicious. Hot water system can be proved more.
- Rosanna (10/5): An incredible stay & experience! - This was not just a place to stay, it was a true experience! The manager and all of the women working here are SO nice and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our time there special. The food was incredible and I loved the location.
- Eshan (10/5): Tucked away gem, great staff and food. - Very Welcoming staff, all smiles and ready to go beyond their way. Tucked away 30-40 mins from Main town, rooms were comfortable. One should not miss their meals, the best we had in Bhutan. Nothing as such
- Spicer (10/5): An authentic village B&B that takes you back in time. - Well worth the 40 minute drive from Punakha to be welcomed in the historic village of Nobgang. The beautiful farmhouse was steeped in history, with a well appointed guest house and the best traditional food we experienced during our whole stay in Bhutan. Our host Wangchuk provided a wonderful tour of the village including the local temple, with the chance to learn from the resident monks. The highlight of our trip to Bhutan. Our stay was faultless, we enjoyed every minute.
- Baumann (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and knowledgable management and staff. Located in a marvelous surrounding in a historical house. Traditional bhutanese meals
