Guest Reviews
- Merlina (9/5): -
- Lauretta (8/5): Centrally accessible accommodation with historic ambience and creature comforts. - Accessibility to city centre - eateries and shops etc. Historic character of the area. Adequate street parking (though 2 hour limit). Comfortable accommodation. Single beds not that comfortable. Rear parking facilities very difficult to access.
- Blair (8/5): Lovely old apartment in a great location - Lovely old apartment. Great location. Stairs challenging with luggage.
- Stephen (6/5): - When it was time to leave đ
It was very clean Canât news spa after 10 pm
Not good for tall person as I am 195cm and old person as u have too walk up step stairs .
They had the smallest TV đș I seen for a while.
They would not give me a late check out is was only 1 hour but they are a loud to leave my door open all day as it was open when I got home đ
- Simon (8/5): Great location and property and very good value for money. - Location and correspondence from owner. Bathroom door was broken.
- Tim (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in this apartment - Good location in Ballarat We did not realise that the apartment was upstairs
- Michael (10/5): Lovely old house, Iâd love to live in a house like that :) - So quirky and comfortable Nothing
- Reagana (10/5): Family of 4 Easter Vacation - The apartments were clean, beds were comfortable and about 5 minutes walk to the train station. Definitely coming back.
- Ross (7/5): - Location was great close to city centre restaurants etc. Quiet area heard trains at night but not bothersome. Kitchen was servicable for what we needed. Wasn't expecting to have to climb very steep stairs to enter the apartment. Don't like having to shower over a deep bath.
- Leesa (9/5): Exactly what I was looking for! - It was clean and spacious Nothing
- Wayne (7/5): - Location and overall size Stairs week very difficult to traverse with luggage particularly if you have mobility issues
- Carl (8/5): Quirky partment, good location, clean and comfortable - Great location close to centre. The spa was a great hit. No concerns
- Bryan (9/5): -
- Theres (7/5): -
- Janet (10/5): -
- Monica (7/5): - An older style property in a great location for shopping and dining out. I would have liked to be able to open a window for some fresh air. Very steep stairs at apartment entrance.
- Kasia (5/5): - It was quirky and interesting... Hard mattress. The floor of the whole apartment is uneven and feels unstable. Got motion sick walking from one end to the other. Train noises throughout the night too.
- Adam (9/5): - The location was perfect for our needs
- Darrell (9/5): -
- Lukas (8/5): Enjoyed our stay, Very comfortable - Great Location, very cute property. Stairs
- Robert dic (7/5): Needs to be updated - Location was perfect. Very central easy access to the Ballarat CBD and station. Price was very competitive. Poor insulation . Was very cold or hot dependent on outside conditions (top floor unit)
One of single beds you could feel bed springs near surface would be very uncomfortable if used
Fridge froze items stored in the middle of the fridge.
- Manuia (9/5): - Clean, cosy place to stay, the dvd collectiom was an excellent idea.
The location was great.
The hostess was awesome to work with and made booking and checking in easy on the day.
- Jennie (9/5): -
- Briarsha (10/5): -
- Jason (10/5): It was a cute apartment. Everything was explained perfectly highly recommended. - Walking distance to Town. Nothing
- Debbie (7/5): Quirky not sure if the spa is worth all the negatives - Quirky top story of a cute house.
Beautifully comfortable couch
Cute little dormer windows
Magnificent spa bath - even if the bathroom doesn't have a door between it and the main bedroom I don't like not getting a key so that anyone can use the pin code on the door
Quite steep stairs
Smallest bath/shower I have ever used - if you're tall or fat this isn't the bath for you.
Possum pee down the kitchen cupboard - possums in front and back wall - OK for us we are from the country - might freak out city folks
- Reid (10/5): Good communication, clean and comfortable. - Location and clean Nothing
- Jenny (3/5): Disappointing - Location Old no opening windows . Very old furniture etc very tired looking
- Sharon (9/5): -
- Richard (7/5): -
- Kim (10/5): - The location, the ease of getting into the property for key codes, the spa, 2 toilets. The communication from the host was exceptional. Very comfortable and will stay again and book longer next time. I was a little unclear of the parking, I think there is off street parking, but not 100%. This could of been me and not paying attention though. I couldn't find the dish washing liquid. Other than that fabulous
- Joy (4/5): Lucky it was cheap - My friend has a disability, we didn't know it was upstairs, and the stairs themselves were really small and we had to walk up sideways. The floor was so uneven she needed help walking. The spa room was full of bugs. There was nowhere for her to hold onto in the shower. I could hear the man from downstairs snoring.
- Noelle Burdekin (9/5): - Good location close to station.
Good ambience Narrow stairs
- Gary (8/5): - No biscuits to have with a cuppa. No spa gel. Had to use shampoo. Trouble getting the door code from booking. com. Had to ring owners.
- Jacki (9/5): -
- Haiying (7/5): -
- Lyndal (7/5): -
- reeves (7/5): - Location was good. Clean comfortable appartment. Beds good. Kitchen small but well equipped. Steep staircase to the apartment was difficult carrying luggage upstairs. Not good for elderly or safe for young children or disabled. Prefer onsite parking as limited parking hours on street.
- Freya dos Santos (7/5): - Great space with quirky attic vibes, a fabulous spa with a view and very easy access to the main streets. The list on the coffee table threatening $100 penalties, particularly restricting what guests can cook. 'No curries' seems a little racist and definitely unwelcoming.
- Stacey (3/5): - Got confirmation of a late checkout, but someone was knocking on our door at 0730 which woke us up then at 1015 the host came knocking on the door again questioning us about the late checkout as he was the only one that authorises late checkouts and her knew nothing about it he was very rude and kept standing in the doorway until I could provide the proof he made us feel uncomfortable so we checked out early
- Ruth (8/5): -
- Barry (5/5): As it was for only one night our stay was really to sleep there. - We didn't have breakfast. Unfortunately we were not told that our apartment was upstairs, as we are all in our late seventies.
- Tricia (9/5): Great location and value for money - The spa looked awesome but unfortunately didnât get a chance to use it.
The big lounge area was great.
Perfect location. The bed was a little hard but was nice and big.
- Locky (9/5): -
- Tania/Andy (8/5): -
- Melanie (5/5): - I couldnât get a later check out without paying despite no bookings for Sunday night. Eg 11am would have been good. Furnishings in lounge are worn and very dated. They could be upgraded.
- Jacqui (10/5): A lovely relaxing stay could have stayed longer - Location was great had a concert at the Goods Shed which was a very short walk . Easy short walk into town . Lovely and peaceful Steps were a bit steep when carrying case up ( maybe I just needed an overnight bag lol )
- Patricia (8/5): Was there for granddaughters basketball game starting at 9:40. Was so looking forward to having a spa but couldnât after - Itâs quirkiness, clean & good location Found the staircase a little steep. Noisy fan in bathroom
- Goldsworthy (4/5): - They sent us the wrong code, we had to call several times to get access The beds!! Hard and lumpy
- Barbara (8/5): Very good - Room sizes Pillows were not good. Bad driveway
- Sandi (8/5): Family Friendly & Comfortable - Jess our host made life very easy for us and we would recommend to anyone visiting Ballarat. The cold weather, but thats not the properties fault.
- Rabia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): A great place for small family! - Although we didn't use it, the spa was a great feature.. the beds were really comfy. I also loved the layout with the skylights!
The heaters worked great, and the property was easy to find.
Also great communication from the property managers, friendly and thorough. The creaky uneven floors (old building, so as expected though) the shower over bath in main bathroom (felt squished and I just don't like bath showers) but all typical of old buildings.. everything was clean and tidy though.
- Angelique (8/5): Comfortable with a couple of improvements would be great. - Location and price. Stairs very steep one step needs repair work. Shower.
- David (8/5): Very good - Close to venue and very comfortable
- Jessica (10/5): Was a really comfortable place to stay on I love the look of the apartment and the vibe it gave off - Very good value for the amount I paid I enjoyed the stay will definitely be staying here again
- Brigitte (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (8/5): Great location, very affordable accommodation with seperate bedrooms and 2 toilets. Very comfortable. Not suitable for a - Location was perfect, so close to the local food and entertainment areas of Ballarat. I also liked the bedrooms being seperate. Dark on arrival and did not know where we were going to get inside. Entry area completely dark on arrival also, without a torch we would have had no hope. Stair case to go up to room was difficult to navigate. House made strange noises at 6:30am coming from end toilet, unsure if there is an animal in the roof.
- James (7/5): Good -
- Aaron (8/5): Very good - Location great. Parking a bit hard to get to and find but worked out fine in the end.
Beds very comfortable and had a great night's sleep. Spa was lovely.
Great location and lovely little stay. There were ants in the bathroom round the edge of the spa, but we cleaned them up and found some bug spray to use.
Fridge too small, as was travelling on and needed to freeze and refrigerate food, but put in what we could.
- Anna (8/5): Well priced super clean and cute accommodation - Such a cute property. Stairs are super steep but itâs like a little quiet oasis at the top. Wonderful location, easy on street parking, super clean, quite large. Only thing - and I am being super picky- is that the room with the spa off the master is literally just the spa and some stools - no sink or even a mirror so you could at least do your hair etc in there! Itâs kind of odd!
- Mary (7/5): Accommdation as expected, beds were comfortable. Wifi did not work and TV was tempermental - Had to contact multiple people to arrange key pick up. No information sent by email
- Jason (4/5): If no one wakes you up itâs a great comfy unit - Clean warm old school charm with comfy beds and staff that are happy to assist with requests - no iron initially but quickly had one delivered - comfy beds and spa is a added bonus Paper thin walls and a group next door starting proceedings at 1145 pm didnât help sleeping - place is clean and warm comfy beds and great spot but no sleep tarnished the stay
- Milissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Madonna (7/5): Except for the shower situation, we enjoyed our stay as the apartment was close to the city centre - It was quiet. There was plenty of room. The host was generous with bathroom supplies and tea, coffee etc. All facilities and appliances were there and easy to find. It was quirky as it was an old house. It has two toilets. Except for the bath, the apartment was clean and comfortable. The bath had a dirty ring around it and the shower was over the bath which was narrow and there was very little room to move. It felt unsafe.
- Deborah (6/5): It was okay and central to where we wanted to be - It had a very uneven floor.it felt a bit like being on a boat with the unevenness. Very steep stairs to the apartment once inside.
- Yun (8/5): A comfortable place to stay with your families. - We had a great time in this place. Cosy and comfortable.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (7/5): Very good - Very good location and very comfortable accommodation with heaps of space and spa bath. Too many waffly emails and texts. The âhostâ mobile number wasnât even familiar with the property.
- Leonie (8/5): Very good -
- Beeroclock66 (8/5): Very good -
- Lynnette (7/5): Good - Stairs and beds
- Bec (3/5): Wouldnât stay again - Location It was upstairs, no mention of that in the description. Itâs was a very hot day, there was a fan but that didnât work.
- Gail (7/5): Good -
- Ka (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (7/5): Good -
- Roslyn (7/5): A quirky historic apartment in a lovely spot near Sovereign Hill - Separate bedrooms and full length of building, interesting old building with fascinating roof windows, spa bath, responsive staff, great location The stairs were incredibly steep, no air conditioning in kids bedroom and pedestal fan unfortunately broken, main bathroom door difficult to close, could not find light switch for toilet room, toilet cistern constantly refilling and bathroom tap a bit unpredictable (powerful)!
- Rodney (9/5): Superb - Closeness to shopping centre Steep staircase, not very suitable for those over seventy.
Shower over bath had very little room to stand on flat surface. Lighting in bathroom not that good.
- Shushila (7/5): Good - Good Need to done cleaning
- Walter (7/5): Good - The location The spa was not working, but advised by owner
Tv, very old and small
- Kylie (9/5): The spa was hreat over the street - Easy and close to transport The stairs lol
- Sylvia (8/5): Great location. - Very sweet and quirky. Nothing
- Lisa (5/5): Passable -
- Trish (9/5): Superb - Great location
- Debbie (2/5): Very tired and unsatisfactory accommodation - Location Steep stairs, layout, decor, furniture, low ceilings, peeling paint, cracked windows, dangerous shower in the bath, only one shower, loose tiles at the spa, unable to open a window, out of date milk (it came out as a solid lump)
- Martin (10/5): Very happy and would stay again - Clean and accessible - nice funky vibe All good - no complaints
- Lynnette (5/5): A quirky, reasonably priced, basic accommodation, historic, great location, comfortable beds. - The building was full of character and quirky, a bit like a Harry Potter house. The location was great. The beds were comfortable. The nearby pub, the North Star was great. The price was reasonable and the owners responsive. The floors were very old and creaky and the facilities basic. As it was hot we needed the A/C to be efficient. The bedroom unit was old as was the fan and both were noisy and inefficient. Cooking facilities were old and quaint so not suitable for full home cooking. There were steep stairs to the apartment.
- Peter (5/5): Passable -
- Tracy (9/5): Superb - Very close to the main street, great spot, unique apartment
- Thomas (10/5): Awsum place - Location Nothing
- Dayton (8/5): Very good -
- Annmarie (1/5): More info needed as to size and entry and exit from unit. - Not my sort of accommodation. Would have been nice to have known the dangerous stairs as had older family member staying for daughters wedding
- Mathew (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (9/5): Great one night stay. Property was perfect for our occasion. Neat, all amenities and great location. - Greta locations. Easy walking distance into town. Free parking.
Unit was spacious and had all the facilities we needed. Narrow stair to access top floor. But went with the charm of the property.
- Jennifer (7/5): Stay was good - Shower over bath not good especially dangerous for older guests
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Because the accommodation was in the roof space.
If there was a fire, it be very difficult to get out of the building because of the fire exit.
- Alison (9/5): Superb -
- B (10/5): Amazing little stay - Loved the spa, whole apartment was comfortable Stairs were a bit steep, floors creaked
- Hampton (4/5): Disappointing - Very steep shallow steps which wasn't mentioned.
- Teena (9/5): Great location for our one night to go to sovereign hill. - Cute upstairs apartment plenty of room for family of 4 . Lots of country charm Very squeaky floor boards when moving around. And shower very small and awkward.
