Guest Reviews
- Jami (10/5): One of the most unique and beautiful places we’ve ever visited! - Wow! We stayed two nights at Rosa Blanca Finca and enjoyed every moment.
The staff are lovely. Andreas, the restaurant manager, shared the wonderful story of the finca and was a delight to chat with. The two servers, Andrea and Victoria, were both friendly and attentive. We had some great conversations with Andrea as well.
The food at the restaurant was phenomenal. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked, and the tuna ceviche with squash was so good we ordered it both nights. For lunch, the salads, beef and chicken burgers, ceviche, and yucca fries were all delicious. We tried chilera—a traditional Costa Rican hot sauce made with pickled vegetables and peppers in oil and vinegar—and it was delicious!
Our room, El Cielo, was magnificent: one of the most comfortable and quiet rooms, offering the best view of the valley. The bed was so comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets provided. The jacuzzi tub and shower were both fantastic. The room provided plenty of hot water, fresh towels, and a French press with coffee. It was adjacent to the spa, making it easy to slip on my robe and enjoy a massage. Melissa was fantastic for the three sessions, and I had fun practicing my Spanish with her.
If we return to Costa Rica, I would stay at Rosa Blanca Finca again in a heartbeat! This hotel is on the higher end of the price spectrum, but it is definitely worth it. My only suggestion for the finca is that the included breakfast options should each come with fresh fruit and a choice of toast, tortilla, or granola/yogurt. These items are offered for an additional fee, but we have stayed at less‑expensive hotels that provided a better complimentary breakfast selection.

- Greg Colhoun (8/5): Great location for an early flight from SJO - Close to the airport but felt like you were in the country as it was up a hill just outside the city.
Nice view over San Jose from the farm.
Very peaceful & tranquil setting.
Nice big secure carpark across the street from the main entrance.
The staff were very helpful & polite just like everyone we met in Costa Rica. The last road to the property was very narrow in places with large ditches at the sides.
We had to stop & reverse to squeeze by another car.
Approach with caution.

- Steven (9/5): Wonderful stay, I would have expected a tour included as the daily rate is high. - We didn’t have too much time to enjoy the property .
- Robert (6/5): -
- Bethany (9/5): -
- Taylor (9/5): Beautiful! - The rooms and the facilities were incredible as was the pool. The food was delicious and the staff were kind.
- Emma (9/5): -
- katrina (10/5): - Very relaxing with lovely grounds and pool Nothing
- Orli (10/5): Let yourself be delighted by every detail of the exceptional Rosa Blanca suite - Unique fairytale room calls Rosa Blanca suite - stayed for our anniversary and loved the artistic details, balconies, the property is truly lovely, coffee plantation, nature trail, healthy food restaurant on site. Lovely pool. An artist created this haven, it is eclectic, bohemian and cultured. Nothing at all. I will dream of the one night we stayed here, completely memorable.
- rebecca (9/5): wonderful - the best start to our holiday !! - our villa was beautiful & the views from our terrace were fantastic. The villa was of a very high standard and with excellent faciltities - even a jar of their own coffee to use which was delicious !!
beds very comfortable & bathroom was very stylish.
The staff were fantastic and very welcoming - made us feel at home straight away ...
The food was delicious and the restaurant setting & views were superb!! not staying longer !! wished we had booked to stay for more days as such a idyllic spot....
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely setting and very helpful staff. - Beautiful setting with unique and charming rooms.
The staff were very kind, helpful and friendly. Only small issue was that breakfast started rigidly at 7am. This meant that I hadn’t finished when called to leave for my 7.30am tour. It is common for tours to start early, so breakfast from 6.45am would have been a preferred option.
Nada!
- SUSAN (9/5): - The pool and beautiful views were absolutely stunning . For our personal taste we found the bathroom to be quite old fashioned and dated .
Sehr freundliches Personal (v.a.
- JANAINA (10/5): Art, Nature and Coffee - Had the best time there!
Lovely, beautiful place! Nothing
- Lotte Frost (10/5): -
- Fabrizio (10/5): - Everything was so well taken care of Nothing
- Per-Åke (8/5): -
- Line (10/5): LOVELY!!!! Relaxing and comfortable. - Best breakfast of all the places we stayed in the only suggestion was the chairs on the balcony are great, but were wet most of the time. We were wondering if some kind of mat or something could be provided to put on the chairs (and to not overutilize towels) so they could be used more.
- Keith (7/5): A very pleasant place to stay close to the airport. The coffee tour was very interesting and worth doing. - Unusual architecture The gardens and pathway need a little attention. The menu in the restaurant is a little restrictive.
- Anne (10/5): The place to relax near San Jose airport - Beautiful quirky luxury stay in a house on the coffee plantation. Lovely relaxing pool & jacuzzi. Lovely restaurant for breakfast, dinner, and coffee & cookie. All the staff were extremely nice & helpful.
- Judith (10/5): This was a 5+ star experience! We will certainly return! - The Finca Rosa Blanca provides a 7 Star experience from the moment you arrive until you leave. All of the staff, whether bell boys, waiters, reception staff, tour guides etc., are professional, friendly, polite, and extremely helpful.
The property, including the accommodation, is very clean, and everything is very tastfully, beautifully decorated. If I have to try to find some shortcoming, I can only think that it would be nice to have drawers, rather that cubbie holes to put things away. And although there was an area where clothes could be hung up, there were no coat hangers.
- Katherine (9/5): Perfect place to relax after a long flight - It was beautiful. The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. It is easy to reach from the airport and would thoroughly recommend a night or two hear to recover from your flight. The staff were lovely, pool area very pretty and restaurant was good. All good
- Jared (10/5): -
- Anelia (9/5): Beautiful first introduction to Costa Rica. Lovely rooms, beautiful outdoor tub and a veranda - The style and grounds were lovely Nothing
- karen (10/5): We loved our stay here - We loved our stay here . Very friendly helpful service and our room was amazing . So authentic Costa Rican . Peaceful and relaxing recommend staying here
- Nepomuk (9/5): -
- Lennart (9/5): - We spent three wonderful nights at Finca Rosa Blanca and absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is a true green oasis surrounded by lush nature, peaceful, and beautifully designed. The food was excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout our stay. We also joined the coffee tour, which was very well organized, informative, and highly recommended.
Overall, it was a perfect combination of relaxation, sustainability, and authentic Costa Rican hospitality.
- Kylee (8/5): -
- Ivan (10/5): -
- Jeremy (10/5): - Coffee tour, restaurant, relaxed atmosphere
- Sancho (9/5): - Las instalaciones La comida

- gigi (10/5): Great parenthesis of calm in the city - everything, lovely place to enjoy being in the city and yet fullly in nature. we loved the pool and jacuzzi
- Peppi (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bailey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mustafa (10/5): Exceptional - This was our second stay at Finca Rosa Blanca. We first visited four years ago as a couple, and this time we returned with our three children. The team generously upgraded one of our rooms to a beautiful suite, which truly elevated our experience.
Everything—from the staff and service to the food—was absolutely impeccable. The coffee was so exceptional that we bought seven bags to share with family and friends.
We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for another unforgettable stay! Absolutely nothing
- Morgan (10/5): Amazing way to end our trip in Costa Rica. - staff was so helpful. rooms were beautiful. the grounds of the hotel are fun to explore. my daughter loved the pool. the hotel is spread out enough that the guests aren't right on top of each other. it was really fun to drink coffee and eat their cookies at the 3pm cocktail hour. We stayed at this hotel the night before our 7am flight. It was the perfect choice. We never send food back, but we had to send back the chicken my daughter got. It was not edible. The hotel staff was gracious and took meal off our bill.
- Oscar (9/5): Superb -
- Christelle (10/5): Exceptional - Really lovely place
- Mathieu (8/5): Very good - Breakfast is excellent
- Wanmin (10/5): National Geographic Unique Lodges of World - Like a fairy tale world, very beautiful artistic design. Jacuzzi was so nice to relax at night, to the calming sounds of insects chirping. In the morning, woke up to beautiful twittering of birds. Coffee tour was great but maybe could be made more interactive (e.g. introducing the process of making coffee?) this was our first stop at Costa Rica - so unique and welcoming.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic first night in Costa Rica. Very easy drive from SJO and a great place to begin your trip. - Breakfast was amazing. Coffee tour was superb, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
- Janine (10/5): A little piece of heaven - The tranquillity is second to none. The coffee is amazing, and the accommodation was great, clean, and comfortable. The staff are very polite and helpful.
If only the Finca rosa blanca was closer to the UK, we would be spending regular holidays there.
We will definitely be recommending the Finca rosa blanca to our family and friends if they are thinking of visiting Costa rica. There was absolutely nothing to dislike.
- Leon (10/5): Enjoyable, unique stay. - Staff are very friendly, hotel is unique and feels authentic. Pool area unkept could be improved.
- Marion (8/5): Nice escape from the city, beautiful surroundings, nice swimming pool and friendly staff. The only minus is regarding th - Well located close to San Jose but in nature.
Swimming pool Very expansive restaurant
- M (7/5): Good -
- Gwynn (10/5): I am already dreaming of going back! - FRB was amazing! The accommodations were beautiful, and the property was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was delicious. I had snook for the first time (Tiger's Fish entree) and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. We enjoyed the coffee tour--Carlos was an excellent guide. We wanted to add an extra night and the host went out of his way to make sure we could stay in the same rooms that we had. I don't have anything negative to say about FRB. I think they could benefit from adding some branded T-shirts to their store, the items they do have are great though.

- Anthea (7/5): Pleasant convienient stay - Attractive property with Costa Rican feel rooms The food in the dining room unfortunately was not very good
- Matthew (10/5): Wonderful San Jose escape and great way to start/end your holiday - One of kind property - gorgeous and comfortable. Fantastic staff. Great food. Quiet. Easy to get to with Waze.
- Harlond (10/5): Fantastic -
- Neneh (9/5): Unique end to a wonderful time in Costa Rica - We absolutely loved the food at this hotel! The food was so fresh and grown on site, with really unique flavour combinations! The hotel itself is super cool, a bit different with incredible views over San Jose! The team were also amazing, great service, so attentive and really friendly! Also since it was our honeymoon they offered us a lovely pudding with dinner and decorated our room which was cute It was the last night of our honeymoon and we wanted to end with something special. Firstly the coffee tour is USD 50 per person which is expensive for guests who have paid a lot to stay! Secondly we asked to book a massage and yoga class via their spa services the night before and unfortunately they were fully booked which was disappointing.
- Andre (9/5): excellent property with very friendly staff - Tranquility and excellent food in scenic restaurant could be challenging to get to if you are self-driving in the dark as we were!
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naeema (10/5): Georgeous unique location - This was the most pleasant and unique places I ever stayed at. So worth the short drive out of the city
- Thomas (9/5): Wonderful relaxing time. -
- Wendy (10/5): Large, comfortable room, whirlpool bath tub, beautiful hand painted walls, coffee tour was amazing! - Everything
- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible property. Wonderful rooms and facilities. Should have stayed longer! Spa, pool and views were amazing. Definitely recommend coffee tour and tasting. Staff super friendly and helpful. A great experience
- Deborah (9/5): Wonderful retreat not far from the airport - The Finca was totally unique. The team were exceptional and the food was delicious. We loved watching the butterflies and hummingbirds from our balcony. Hot tub could do with a clean and the evening meal prices were quite punchy.
- Maria (9/5): Staying at this place was the perfect start to our visit to Costa Rica. - A hidden gem 20-30 minutes from the international airport.
A very relaxing venue - had this atmosphere throughout the venue.
We had breakfast and lunch - all superb- and proudly Costa Rican!
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect San Jose stop over - The staff and location were perfect for one night stop over on arrival in San Jose. The food was amazing
- Sarah (9/5): All of the butterflies on the property. Which made it evident that it was placed on an organic farm - The unique and colorful room. The coffee hour. The staff was super helpful and kind. N/A
- Nicolaas (9/5): Must stay exceptional location near San Jose - Amazing location and the friendliness of the staff was exceptional. Also the coffee tour is a must!
- Stacey (6/5): Tough night - The property itself was very beautiful. The restaurant staff was amazing and the food was excellent! The staff at the front desk was very unwelcoming. We have been to two other places prior to coming here and Everywhere else the people were incredibly welcoming. The most important position is the greeters… They need to get some new staff here. The jacuzzi was broken. Pool was cold. The plastic and glass on the roof while it rains made it sound someone was throwing rocks on our roof ALL NIGHT! We hardly slept. Unfortunately, we couldn’t wait to leave the next day. Please fix the ceiling in Las Aves bedroom so no one else has to endure such a tough night.
- Rhythm (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (8/5): Lovely traditional experience in beautiful setting. - Nice cultural experience with a peaceful setting, interesting yummy food, nice staff, clean rooms, and beautifully kept grounds. Beautiful tiles and architecture. The common areas (bar, pool area, etc) could be updated for more comfortable areas to order a bottle of wine and hang out.
- Jennifer (10/5): The food, location, accommodations and staff were amazing. By far our best experience with all 4 in our Costa Rican trav - This is a special property with amazing staff!
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (10/5): Excellent place to start our journey through Costa Rica - Very restful and friendly, excellent coffee tour Nothing to dislike
- John (10/5): A great start to our visit to Costa Rica; delightful - Beautiful location, great food and staff charming. Nothing
- Tikki (10/5): Comfortable and stylish with awesome coffee tour. - Amazing coffee tour and tasting experience. We spent our first day in Costa Rica here and it was a great introduction. They were very accommodating to our early check in. Nice pool area. Delicious breakfast and as a bonus you could wander on the grounds and see where the ingredients came from! Real farm to table!
- Anne (10/5): A perfect restful and beautiful place after a long flight - Really nice helpful staff, beautiful room with balcony and environment. Excellent food, very comfortable bed and all mod cons! The coffee plantation tour was excellent.
Basically a great start to our trip. There was nothing to dislike.
- Valeria (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (6/5): Not as good as it thinks it is! - The actual property is well thought out in terms of layout and has a rustic charm to it Not a single path was stroller friendly, and we were in a bungalow a reasonable distance from the main building so we were constantly having to carry him.
No aircon in the rooms- the room was unbearably hot when we arrived. Managed to get a fan to make it tolerable but a) that should have been in there to begin with but b) you just need aircon
The restaurant was arrogant, clearly some people working there think it’s better than it really is. For vegetarians the food is poor, feels like it’s been done as an after thought. Some of the staff were rude, service inconsistent resorting in my wife having to go find them to order/get a drink.
- David (7/5): Great Stay to relax after your arrival or before your depature - The location is perfect if you want to stay one night in San Jose either on the day of your arrival or depature. It is far better than down town and offers a great view of the city. You can not leave the hotel without a car as the streets outside do not have side walks and the cars are driving by really fast.
