Guest Reviews
- Sandra (9/5): Would stay again. - Lovely property. Friendly people. Comfortable accomodation. Good location.
- Janice (1/5): Horrible - The view was good Poor lighting outside filthy under bed heaps of dust woke us up. windows were dripping wet in the morning no shower pressure filthy curtains and bedding window tracks were dusty front light turned off by itself plastic bag over smoke alarm. And I became ill

- Link (8/5): -
- Faith (7/5): - Great location and comfortable bed.
The small balcony overlooking the golf course was enjoyable. The floor wasn't clean and there was nothing to wash the dishes with - no cloth or dish-detergent.
- donna (8/5): Lovely location but very small bed - Great location
Cabin was good size Double bed too small
- Angelica Juliana (10/5): - Good view
- Samantha (7/5): A great trip - We stayed in cabin 10 - clean and new. The bed didn’t have brakes and moved with any movement, no hanging space or space to put clothes.
- Deborah (10/5): Modern facilities, lovely birdlife and surroundings, convenient location. - We ate our own breakfasts and mainly ate food elsewhere, but when we had an issue with the power, we were given some fish and chip.meals without charge. We were delighted with the quality of the meals. Meals are not generally served in the evening, otherwise we may have purchased them. There could have been a little more information about what was available and the WiFi password in the cabins. It was a little hard to find someone to serve at the office because they had a lot of different jobs to do.
- Wendy (9/5): -
- Phil C (6/5): An option for those who don't mind campact accommodation to a lesser standard than a motel but sim $ - The location on a golf course is pleasant, away from traffic noise. The cafe / bar in the heritage clubhouse is attractive and offers good selection during the day. The staff are friendly. The cabins are basic but quite well fitted out. Pizzas are available around 5:00 pm. The accommodation is somewhat oversold on the website. Rather than "cottages" these are essentially porta
cabins, and although well featured are compact, and currently without paved access. Internet access is patchy (I gave up), and the TV only shows cable channels. A couple of free-to-air channels are available via sign-in. The cabins have basic cooking facilities, but no microwave. There is no chair/desk for laptop work, except on the outside deck. Full evening meals require a short trip to the town, where options are limited.
- Lys (8/5): A quiet and relaxing stay. - Modern, good location. Wi-Fi signal was not very good.
- Ian (9/5): - location was spot on very clean and tidy well equipped, spare towels There was nothing I didn't like
- Sheryl (10/5): -
- Jenny (7/5): Reasonably comfortable and easy location. - Brand new demountable cabin. Easy drive to shopping centre. The cabin needs a couple of finishing touches - some hooks or rails to hang towels in the bathroom, a chair or similar to put your luggage on inside the room.
- mateo (10/5): -
- Janaka (9/5): - Nice quote place
- Wendy (8/5): An interesting place to stay with plenty of space around. - The location is out of town and very quiet. It's located on the golf course. It's a bit different to regular types of accommodation. A nice place to wander around. The clubhouse is historic and interesting. We couldn't lock the windows so it wasn't secure.
- Tim (2/5): Nice people, but totally mishandled booking - Sadly while the homestead and the golf course surrounds were lovely and the staff were very pleasant our booking had been completely mishandled and they did not have accommodation for us. They eventually found us a place to stay 20+klms away and promised a total refund. While they found us somewhere to sleep it was at the end of a long day's drive for us and we didn't get there until after 6pm, only to find the place to be very basic . We spent a quite uncomfortable night and were very pleased to leave on our travels next day.
- John (7/5): Beautiful. The Clydesdale horses wow - The lady that gave me my keys was very happy exited and very helpful she definitely uplifted my day. Big kitchen bit only glass food
- Joanne Ede (9/5): - Bird life and 140y old trees, lush gardens and outlooks Lack of knowledge about history of homestead
- Louise Gates (10/5): Cabins have everything you need and the staff and friendly and helpful - There is a bar and cafe onsite open until 5.30pm. Ideal for a drink without having to drive.
The staff were really helpful and sorted a taxi for me to get to the airport. I’m not fond of spiders. Tricky to avoid in Australia I know. I spotted a lot of insect debris on the floor in a couple of places which are signs that spiders are living somewhere tucked away. I didn’t see them though thank goodness
- Ruscoe (7/5): -
- Colleen (8/5): very good, smooth processes, and well presented space. - i liked the outlook across the golf course. The bed was fabulous. The whole space, including the bathroom was very comfortable. No milk in the fridge for morning coffee.
The door/key was hard to manage - I am left handed.
No carpark specifically for the unit.
Dust under the beds.
- Toni and Dale (8/5): A piece of paradise - Very peaceful & relaxing.
- Claire (8/5): It was so very peaceful, with beautiful trees and country side. - The breakfast was ok, was a bit limited for choice, however the food given was very nice and freshly made. Couldn’t really give a down side to our stay. The only point would be the practice area .i found it a bit dangerous when playing the first few holes, this was due to the area being next to the first few fairways.
- rebecca (1/5): Need to improve check in procedures - The location was convenient and room was tidy We were unable to get into our cabin on the first day and nobody contacted us to make arrangements for the keys. We called the number provided on our booking.com app and the person who answered hasn't worked there for 6 months. We then had to pay accommodation at another hotel that night so very disappointed. I have tried to contact management but nobody has bothered to contact me back.
- Noel (7/5): Golf is fun, staff are lovely but be sure to book cabin 2 or 3 - Location great and 18 hole Par 3 course great value & fun. Brekkie rolls and coffee awesome. New cabin (5) was unfinished, access dangerous, first step very high and small double bed was very uncomfortable. I believe Cabin 5 too small for 2 people. Cabin 2 much bigger with a far better bed.
- Jenny (8/5): -
- Stephan (1/5): Hosts have no interest in customer service - Hosts have no interest in customer service
- Geoffrey (10/5): Excellent place - very quiet and rural, short distance to supermarket and shops, very cosy. - We were looking at overnight accommodation in Gympie on our way to Bundaberg. The Gympie motels did not have much appeal, and we were happy to pay a bit extra for a stay at the Golf Club - a quiet setting in very rural grounds as befits a golf course. Staff were very friendly, and the beer was a very good price! About the only thing that could be improved is the unmade track at the end of the access road - but that was no problem at all.
- Lachlan (9/5): - Relaxing , quiet , nice meal and reasonably priced
- Leigh (10/5): A very comfortable and quiet night at a historic location. - The unit was clean and comfortable and the location was fantastic given that it is on a golf course. The bonus was having morning tea in the renovated original homestead. Highly recommended and way better than a normal motel. Nothing
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - This property is set in the most tranquil part of gympie and we absolutely enjoyed our stay..Thoroughly relaxing and will be back again..Thankyou Danielle and to all your amazing staff for a beautiful few days amongst the birds🙏🏻🌅👌
- Rodney (9/5): Comfortable stay in a quiet location. - Nice quiet location overlooking a golf course. Check in was easy with friendly staff. not applicable
- Sharon (1/5): Bad - Nothing. The room was the filthiest place I have ever stayed in, cockroaches, dirty floor towel, dirty floor, dirty skirting boads, filthy microwave, disgusting window sills, ceiling fan filth, fridge looked like it should be at a tip, $192 they charged for one night to stay on filth.
- Geneine (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (8/5): Perfect value for money accommodation. - Clean and tidy. There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Doris (8/5): Very good - It was close to town amenities without the noise lovely setting
- Jacky (8/5): Very good - Lovely location. Staff were very helpful The bed was too small. There is plenty of room for a king bed. The kitchen appliances could do with replacing, as well as the cutlery
- Francesca (9/5): Loved the birdlife and the views of the golf course. - Great Location. Peaceful and unexpectedly beautiful.
- Luchty (9/5): Superb -
- Shirley (9/5): Superb - Nice clean cabin. Close to Southside shopping centre. Comfortable bed. Very quite. Value for Money ❤️💋 Nothing
- Heidi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (8/5): Very good -
- Sue (9/5): Loved it, would recommend - Perfect quiet location. Well presented. Suited a couple perfectly. Would definitely stay again Directions to the office could be clearer. No teabags
- Ady (9/5): A hidden secret which is exceptional value and close to everything. - Great location.
- Lynette (9/5): Comfortable unit, friendly staff & a bonus 3 par golf course - WE were happy to be able to play a round of golf after a lengthy trip & enjoy a light ale, & pizza (cooked by the chef). It was all very good for what we needed for a one night stay
- Aileen (10/5): Gympie Race weekend - staff very switched on.Room was very clean and comfortable. Fantastic bathroom. Quiet.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - This is the best overnight stay for more time than I can remember. The cabin was large and very well presented, with an enormous bathroom, friendly and welcoming staff. It was very quiet and the golf course is beautiful.
- L (8/5): Quiet location, excellent staff - Great location, comfy bed, staff wemt out of their way to make my stay comfortable
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Sheilah (7/5): Suggestions - Location is pretty
Beds comfortable
Bathroom a good size Lack of Queen bed. Verandah facing the golf course would greatly enhance the experience and would be better than the large window there now, which could be replaced by sliding doors.
Needs a 2-plate hob.
Redesign kitchen to include larger fridge and clothes wardrobe. This creates room for a queen bed where the 2 singles are now, plus a single bed where the wardrobe and blanket box is now. The units are nice, but have the potential to be stunning.
Move air-conditioning unit to the kitchen wall
- Christine (6/5): Hours after we arrived, we finally got to settle in and the cabin, location etc, were all very good. - The staff with whom we interacted were marvellous people. The unit/cabin was not ready; in fact it was just as the previous occupant had left it, so we had to phone someone who was a distance out of town. She came and cleaned etc, but that whole system is lousy. And BOOKING.com did nothing at all for us or for them. Your business model is all about creaming off a percentage for YOU and not looking after your customers (both types, the owners of the businesses and the travellers paying for accommodation).
- Jenny (7/5): Very pleasant - Secluded, peaceful & scenic Freezer was unusable due to no door & totally iced up.
- Gary (8/5): Large room and comfortable bed - Quiet location NA
- Parry (5/5): Served a purpose - I liked the view from the window So much could've been better. I left a note inside the room with feedback. I'm not repeating it here.
- Maree (9/5): Excellent would recommend - Beautiful location, clean, super comfortable bed (best sleep ever) Wi-Fi wasn’t working
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Jayde (10/5): A lovely stay - It was a quaint, little place that was the perfect size for us. Close enough to the main streets to easily get things but far enough away to feel like we were in our own little place. It had security screens for the door and main windows but only a fly screen for the bathroom. Can never be too careful
- Jarryd (8/5): Very good -
- Joanna (8/5): Nice location and cabins were great. - There was an issue locating the keys initially due to staff illness but they were located in the end so it was all good in the end! Cabin's were a good size, and I was impressed the one I was in had great disability access (cabin 2). I think the staff need more support, some identified they were new, so were not able to provide wifi passwords or other information when I asked about them. The staff were all very pleasant to chat to. We didn't solve the missing wifi passwords and the ones supplied didn't work but luckily I could mobile hotspot for my work while i was here.
- Brendan (7/5): Good -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marianne (8/5): Enjoyable - It was nice and quite yet handy to what we wanted.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Met reception who gave us a code to obtain the keys from the lock lox. Explained all in relation to the room and our stay. NA
- John (9/5): Picturesque setting - No breakfast left early
- Jackie (9/5): Superb -
- Sophie (10/5): Beautiful Scenery and great value - Great Location, Clean and Tidy
- Rhys (8/5): Very good -
- Cassie (10/5): A serene and spacious location that is a must see. - Easy to find and easy to access. Friendly service, quiet location and a peaceful setting. That I couldn't stay longer this visit but if I visit Gympie again this will be my first choice.
- Fionna (9/5): Peace and quiet in the middle of the city! - The room was great! Plenty of room to move about. The location was perfect. You'd think you were on the outskirts of town, it was so peaceful and quiet. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of hot water.
- Crosby (10/5): Wished we had booked for longer. - We are golfers so the location was great. Peaceful and relaxing after Gold Coast., Nothing.,
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (5/5): Good for older retired travellers and anyone requiring an accessible hotel room. - Cleanliness is an issue. There was mould on a kitchen plate and I had to clean the glass bedside table.
Wifi reception is poor and low quality, not ideal for a business traveller
The rooms are quite dated, there were 3 pillows on a queen size bed and they were poor quality, the bed was average to poor. Considering the price, the quality was below expectation.
The self-contained cabin has been built as accessible so useful for anyone requiring that.
- Mary-anne (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (3/5): Great location with a disappointing room - The location of the property was great, easy to find and easy to access. The room itself was poorly cleaned, the tiles seemed as though they had some sort of sticky tacky feeling to them and made it hard to walk on as it was extremely slippery. There were cobwebs everywhere all over the ceiling and by the bedside tables etc.
The toilet had not been cleaned as there was urine in the bowl upon entering for the first time. The kitchen had ants crawling over the countertops and sink and by the microwave yet we had no food inside at the time. It was quite a disappointing experience
- Leanne (10/5): We were only there for one night, but this suited our needs perfectly and we enjoyed our stay. - Loved the quiet semi-rural setting, the lovely views and the horses in the paddock nearby.
My mum has mobility problems so the disability-friendly features were great.
It would be a great place for a short golfing break.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Loved the location and the size of the accommodation. Very comfortable. The shower area had would in the grout. There wasn’t a light where you park your car.
- Kiara (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (5/5): Not welcoming - Location, comfortable beds, walk in shower Minimum amount of toiletries and washing up liquid, the welcome notes were not welcoming, WiFi was weak/would not work on one of our devices and was expensive for what we had
- Corinne (6/5): Pleasant -
- Veronica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (4/5): Sorry we have stayed here before but for $190 it was over priced and certainly needs to be updated. - The location was nice Firstly , there was only one bath towel . No bin in kitchen . Soap was left in shower. Someone’s milk was left in refrigerator. Certainly not the accommodation we were expecting . Outside was also was also a mess , weeds everywhere. We paid $190 and got no breakfast etc. it was just a room and looked very depressing
- Stephens (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephens (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paveetrah (1/5): Bad - It’s a beautiful place Beautiful place but the management need to maintain the cottages properly, the cottage we stayed it was bad dusty lots of spider webs. Should install more lights as the place is very dark at night and we had to depend on our phone torch to walk to our cottage. The mattress wasn’t great.
- Tayla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa-marie (3/5): Good air con. Grubby room - Nice setting Dirty plates. Stained sheets
- Diane (10/5): Great location - Location and good amenities. Beautiful setting and comfortable bed. Nice and quiet, great to relax at the end of the day.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (10/5): Peaceful location - Staff were absolutely lovely, cabins were great size and very comfortable. Last minute booking in a beautiful location
