- Mackenzie (7/5): Beautiful beach shack with a great location. - Amazing location with a great view of the beach from the outdoor viewing area with deck chairs, only a short drive from cafes and shops but feels very remote and secluded. Cute shack feel perfect for a family getaway with full kitchen. Host quite responsive to issues. We had an issue with the water pump failing so were left without any water for a decent portion of our stay - however the host was very responsive to try and fix the issue but would recommend replacing the pump before having future guests stay at the property. The TV also wasn’t connected to any channels or internet so we weren’t able to use it. The path down to the beach is very adventurous and not for the faint hearted.

- Sam (9/5): Would definitely recommend the house to others, and return myself. - Lovely welcome with fresh flowers and local produce.
Fantastic location with fabulous ocean views, with dolphins, just a short step away.
Cosy and comfortable furnishings. Fully appointed kitchen. No laundry facilities.
- Sarah (8/5): - It was beautiful and just what we wanted.
Bread was left but maybe butter sachets and maybe some jam ones would be good too.
I thought it was pricey for a 2 day week day stay but it was clean.
Furniture was comfy if not a bit shabby but ok for us.
Fire was good although no kindling left and we had to go downstairs for the wood. It would have been good if there was some left upstairs. It was alot of money for 2 nights that should be amended .
- Amanda (8/5): - Great location, well set up, wildlife Nothing! We didn’t realise there wasn’t a washing machine we could use but we managed

- Chloe (9/5): Loved the stay and will hopefully be back one day. - The accomodation was lovely and had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and very quiet. N/A
- Gregory (6/5): The location of the accommodation was not really for us, but may suit a young family - Self-contained accommodation was very good and comfortable Accommodation was in a remote location along a rough unsealed road and not quite as we imagined it would be. At time of booking, we believed that it would look over the island coastline, but instead it backed into the hill with view of a salt quarry opposite. It was necessary to clamber up a very rough path at back of unit to get to top for a view of beach and coastline below. Path to top was not suitable for older couple to navigate.
- Rosie (10/5): Exceptional - There were 2 PIN codes sent, no big deal but a bit confusing if you’re asking about getting the keys
- Robert (10/5): Peaceful and tranquil with a visit from Roos and Crimson Rosellas. - Spacious, peaceful, very clean and comfortable. The road leading to the property was very rough, a 4X4 would suit the drive better than a car.
The access to the beach was too difficult to walk down for us. No view of the beach from the property.
- Braden (9/5): Superb -
- Jeanie (8/5): Very good - The location was brilliant. Easy checkin and checkout. Fast response from management. Remote and private, which was exactly what we were looking for. View of stars at night magnificent. Access to the top of dunne to overlook Emu beach was great. Bed was reasonably comfortable. The large fridge was good. The house was clean. Totally understand about the house being off grid, so happy with no dish washer or washing machine, but the shower with no water pressure was not great. If over 30, the unsafe walk down the dune to the beach was just not worth it. We knew from other reviews that it was challenging... understatement!!! 3 sets of chairs on the dune viewing area, only one set usable. One set was torn and damaged, and the other set was so old and unsafe to sit on from sun exposure, leaving only one white set usable but not comfortable. Definitely check what food, etc, you need, including shampoo conditioner, toilet paper, and suitable coffee pods if you stay more than 3 nights. Also, the washing up gloves were dirty and used, not much to have new ones for each new stay. Sunset can not be seen from dune, only from the front driveway. Don't get me wrong, we would definitely stay again, but it's just good to know the small details to make your stay better.
- Yasho (10/5): Exceptional - The location was awesome Check out time is too early
- Cathryn (9/5): Highly recommend Dune Escape for a secluded getaway - Beautiful and secluded. We looveeddd all the wallabies, kangaroos and even a goanna that roamed around the property. Close to Emu Bay beach and a short drive to a lovely little coffee cart and playground. Ticked all the boxes for us and we really enjoyed our time here and on Kangaroo Island! With a baby it wasn't really beach access as the dunes were too steep to walk up/down. Older kids would be fine. The beach permits vehicles and is only a short drive away so that worked for us.
Shower water pressure/temps fluctuated, however the facilities on the whole were modern and clean.
