• Mary (9/5): Nice flat with perfect location - The location is perfect. It is within easy walking distance of public transportation, restaurants, shops and attractions. Everything was provided that was needed for a stay in a small flat (we stayed almost a week). The property owner was responsive and answered questions quickly. The price was very reasonable for that area of London as well. It is a good option for 1-3 people. I have saved it and it will be at the top of my list when I return. This is NOT a bad thing but people with disabilities or who have difficulties with stairs should be aware it would be challenging. It was not a problem for me, but, for example, I would not be able to stay there with my mother as she has difficulty both with balance and stairs. There are many flats in London that have a similar set-up, so it is good to ask.
• Berit (1/5): Extremely disappointing. - We were not offered this accommodation. So cannot comment on the Central London Gem. So our advice is if you want guarantee on staying in the apartment you book do not book this place. Our booking was double booked and we were only advised of this when we tried to obtain the keys which were not in the lock box. When we finally got in touch with the host, we were offered an apartment in a location which was not suitable. We accepted as we needed somewhere to stay. We made our own way there and paid for the Taxi which has not yet been refunded. The apartment ended up being in the basement and over a train line. We could hear every train as it approached and left the station beneath us. The WI-FI did not work and the shower did not work.
• Elizabeth (1/5): bad host - property unsuitable for 4 people - we arrived early however host let us leave our bags in property until we could occupy it well, where shall I start? the sofa bed is not a sofa bed - it is a hard surfaced click-clack sofa and very small, def not for 2 people. I contacted the host and he was very defensive, not accepting that sofa is too small for 2 people :( also, the main bed was broken, the whole bed was not put together properly, it was very flimsy. we took video and sent to host. also, there were only 3 pillows available for 4 guest, again host was very defensife, blamed the cleaner for not leaving out more... also when I asked for even more pillows, as I sleep with more than one - and my family too - he was very defensive and asked why I needed more, other people were happy with one etc. this host did not make any remedies for us to stay comfortably for the monies he asked for - there was no way this apartment is suitable for 4 people to stay!! we agreed that we would leave the property as unsuitable host agreed to full refund however after 3 weeks we are still waiting for him to pay us back. contacted booking.com and they said they could not hold of host. so here we are £££ out of pocket - do not use this host, ripoff !
