Guest Reviews
- Kerry (9/5): - Very close to transport and easy walk to places too.
- Dennis (8/5): - Easy to get too and suited us Nothing
- Rachael (7/5): Cheap and Cheerfull, great bang for buck - plenty of room and beds. But poor check in - Value for dollar - exceptional. Biggest apartment we have ever rented in Melbourne. Cheap and chearfull, would have been a top end fit out in the 1990's when it was renovated, now very tired and needs updating, but value for money absolutely tip top. The check in said reception was open until 5. But it was closed and there was no-one at reception at 4 when we arrived. We couldn't get into the building until another resident came along and opened the door. Then it was a self check-in machine, took trying 4 different eftpos cards on the auto check in machine to get the deposit to process and then we had difficulty accessing the 2nd set of room keys. We lost a card in all the confusion at the machine, so we went down and tried reception to see if it was handed in - again, no-one there, so we messaged through booking.com as they didn't answer the phone, they messaged back later advising us to check with housekeeping - but we couldn't because we had no way to find them as security access all floors and no-one in reception or answering phones.
- Heather (7/5): Great once I could check in. Loved the apartment - The location is fabulous, close to everything including Spencer Street Station for the Sky Bus. Apartment was lovely and great value for money. Automated checkin was malfunctioning and I couldn’t get my room key. Thank goodness the lovely room service lady was there and helped to liaise with the building management personnel. Others also encountered this problem so hopefully this is fixed asap.
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): - Staff No human reception
- hoppy_traveller (10/5): Best place to stay in CBD its that good I have booked again for October - Best motel i stayed in over the 12 days in Melbourne N/A
- Chloe (3/5): Shit - Nothing Everything the outside of our window was absolutely atrocious I felt like I was in Thailand in a back alley way!!
- Chaldean (10/5): - convenient nothing
- Darrell (2/5): Extremely disappointed - Location The exhaust Han in the main bathroom did not work
The lights in two bedrooms flickered
There were wooden boards under both couches to stop the cushions sinking but the cushions kept sliding off whilst sitting on them
The balcony was graffiti tagged
The view from one of the bedrooms was embarrassing and disgusting
The windows opened but jammed and couldn’t close them properly
I did report the issues the first night but nothing was done
- KAREN (6/5): Good location, passable facilities - Location is great - near tram stops and Southern Cross Station. View from the small balcony was really good - it was nice to have a view of surrounding buildings. Fresh towels were provided for our second day. The room was quite old and tired - carpets and mattresses on both beds need replacing. Only two wine glasses and they were plastic. Plug did not fit in the sink which made washing up difficult. We wanted to store our luggage on check out but reception didn’t open until 10am and we needed to leave at 9am - when we rang the number the man who answered said we would have to wait until 10am so we ended up storing our bags at Southern cross station (costs $16). Important to note that it is not a hotel - residential apartment building with some rooms rented out for short stays.
- Alejo (5/5): -
- Heather (7/5): Convenient - A little tired but value for money. All fine
- Sue (8/5): Perfect for our needs - Had a great time, close to everything. A little cleaner, walls and floors a bit dirty. Sheets etc are excellent
- Anthony (9/5): Great location - Great location, clean, everything you need Nothing really
- Tyson (10/5): -
- Barsoum (8/5): -
- Estrella (5/5): - spacious
- Amber (5/5): Great location, but that's about it - Great location, and had 3 bedrooms which slept 5 of us that were travelling together I tried to ring at least 10 times before we arrived (between 12pm-1.30pm) to see if we could check in earlier, the phone was not answered and rang out every time.
Hotel is extremely run down. Freyed carpet in hallways, dark and upon arriving into our room the smell of bleach was so strong we had to open the door on the balcony. The floor felt very uneven and spongy (like floor boards had been laid straight on top of carpet). Dirty plastic wine cups and a whole mish mash of glasses. Windows were filthy, like they had never been cleaned. Then at 9pm, on a Saturday night, myself and my two 70 year old parents and Aunty and uncle were sitting in the room telling stories and having a laugh when our door was knocked on. We answered to find a man there telling up to shut the f**K up and be quiet or he's
going to call the police! Possibly a permanent resident there and also possibly drug effected. So that was completely uncalled for and a little scary
- SHARON (5/5): -
- Amy (3/5): Horrible. - The only aspect on this stay was the location Using their new automated booking system as requested when I arrived and now the $100 deposit has not registered in their system. Essentially they have stolen my money and are refusing to transfer me to management, keeping me on hold for several minutes and just hung up.
- Gillian (7/5): - Proximity to Southern Cross station Lack of friendly staff at reception.
Not being able to get a second pillow because staff needed 24 hours notice!
- Kaye (8/5): Outdated but excellent location comfy beds - Lovely staff and great location Very out dated … 3 beds were up a spiral staircase which was not mentioned in booking .. not well equiped example only 2 wine glasses but sleeps 9
- Kellie (10/5): -
- A Brewer (9/5): - Two bedrooms suited us well. Located near VicPol station. Easy travelling on trams. A little bit noisy at times.
- Jasvir (9/5): - K K
- Jordi (6/5): -
- adolfo (6/5): -
- Gaspard (8/5): C'était bon. - Les services sont bons Il n' ya pas de restaurant. Il fallait sortir ailleurs. Traverser les routes, choisir un café et m'adapter au gout n'était pas aussi facile.
- Tiffany (10/5): Amazing - Great location Nothing
- Kellie (10/5): -
- Hanh (7/5): Decent - Location Smells
- Anna (8/5): Great central space for families - -Excellent location, right opposite Spencer Street Station and Coles supermarket.
-Having the upstairs area for the kids was great, they were able to spread out and have a bit of a break from the adults.
-Having a deck was very cool too, we were able to sit there in the evening and relax.
-Receptionist was lovely and let us check in early -Terrible smell from the bathroom drains. We ended up blocking them with tea tree infused tissue paper.
- Deck chairs had been left right under where the pigeons congregate so they were covered in poo and we had to clean them before using.
- No washing machine. First apartment I have booked that didn’t have a washing machine.
-The extraction fan over the oven is pretty gross, needs a really good clean as it is covered in grease.
- Chiawei (1/5): 爛透了!我要入住時什麼電話都打不通,難得打通了卻又沒人出現,要退錢又退不出來 - 不回電話還不肯回覆客服
- Holiday (3/5): Disappointing and not up to expextations - The bed was soft and comfortable, the shower and toilet facilities were clean, the location is good with a tram stop near the Hotel, a shopping centre was very close to the hotel and very close to Southern Cross railway station. The room was not like any of the pictures on line, the room was very tired, and bland, with exposed floor boards and no carpet, the room was also very noisy, this apartment hotel is very very budget style, and looked very grubby, we stayed on level 4 and you could smell strong cigarette smoke from the permanet residents,we will not stay here again.
- Kerry (8/5): Good value. - The room had everything we needed and only a short walk to the Skybus, Southern Cross Station and Coles. Nothing.
- Sally (8/5): Been before numerous times and worst room - Convenience The view of a bird poo covered concrete wall and no parking.
- joyce (5/5): Bad experience - Location We arrived after 5 no staff. Had to ring it was terrible. Lucky some other people came to check in. They helped us. The guy on the phone couldnt care less. Not a nice person. Its not the first time we have had trouble with arrow on spencer
- Frank (9/5): A great place to stay, excellent value for your money. - Excellent location. Easy access. Obtained an early check in which was a bonus. Soft bed and small shower.
- Sousa (4/5): -
- Zac (1/5): Up all night - Good location Would have quieter sleeping on the street. Walls and windows are paper thin - I guess this is what $90 gets you though
- Mia (9/5): Location & price really good especially if needing Southern Cross Station. Clean, spacious rooms. - Location is awesome, rooms spacious and clean, we’re lucky for early check in.
- Tao (5/5): -
- Mellisa (7/5): Big thank you to Radella for helping us out - The location and bed was comfortable The communication as I checked after trading hours due to being stuck in traffic. On the phone they mentioned there was no one around to help me with the trouble o had getting into my room and I’d have to wait half an hour, a staff member who was walking around her name was Radella helped us out in no time, she was extremely helpful and we appreciated her efforts as we were running late to our already booked show- if we didn’t have this issue I would’ve rated higher
- Stacey (7/5): -
- Geoff (9/5): Great place to stay for airport travel. - The original booking was made because it was close to Southern Cross and the bus to the airport. When we checked in we could not believe how much space we had in the room. There were lots of places to get dinner after a short away. Finally the cost for the room was very reasonable. Couldn't work out the internet password and there was no one at the front counter to help.
- Uwe (9/5): Top Location - Top location opposite the Southern Cross train station, tram stop nearby, ten minutes walk to the city center. Friendly staff. Furnishings are a bit old, but fully functional and clean. We have been there many times, always spend the night there when we are in Melbourne.
- Kellie-anne (7/5): - The location was excellent. On site parking a bonus. Reservation staff did not mention you need your card to exit your vehicle from on site parking. We left our room cards in our room upon departure therefore were locked in and had to wait for someone to exit parking to be let out.
The contact numbers for the motel went unanswered.
- Susan (9/5): - Great for location, clean, secure The beds were very hard but I fixed with sleeping on a double blanket 😴
- Ariene (7/5): - Location was great Somewhat noisy with the trams but fine for what I expected for the price
- Bindu (8/5): - Good staff and location Water leak in the room under the carpet coming from?bathrrom. Only one split system for two rooms, was too hot in the second room
- Vivien (5/5): - Convenient Room needs updating
Toilet paper needs a better position
- Lorraine (10/5): - The room was wonderful with a kitchen, microwave and everything you need. The location is perfect. Staff are fabulous Nothing
- Julius (8/5): -
- Jaye (10/5): - Very unexpected amount of room, really good location
- Sarah (7/5): - We had a late checkin because of a last minute booking as there were no Vline running after midnight and although it was stressful i very much appriciated the staff help in the middle of the night.
- Andrew Paxton (6/5): - Close to everything Looked a lot bigger in picture. However big enough for camping. Bed had severe roll together and uncomfortable. Not hotel fault but 24/7 noise, I didn't sleep much.
- Kirsty (10/5): Great stay for attending festival - Perfect place to attend Flemington None
- Cristy (8/5): - The apartment was very large right opposite southern cross station clean and a good price Very outdated
- Hannah (8/5): -
- Kerry (7/5): Staying at Harborview apartments served our needs for our stay in Melbourne. - Very well located to access public transport in and around Melbourne city.
Slept 6 adults comfortably. Strong odour of cleaning products.
Balconies not cleaned.
Furniture outdated.
Air conditioner very noisy.
No dishwashing products or cleaning cloths provided.
No information provided about the Wifi access, use of the television or sights to see around Melbourne.
- Donna (7/5): Even with above issues, the room was ok and served our purpose. - Location was good handy to things for us. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom. Shower leaked and went all over the bathroom floor upstairs. The toilet kept running through, had to push several times to get it to stop.
- Krista (7/5): A budget friendly hotel in CBD - Location in the CBD There was a wierd smell on our floor when we arrived smelt like mouldy carpet but it was gone the next day.
- Hieu Duc (7/5): -
- Visnja (6/5): Over all, the room was clean and tidy and provided somewhere to sleep for a night. - Location was good. Bed was comfy-ish. The room suited our purpose of just having somewhere to stay for a night instead of driving home to the countryside. I can’t complain too much as the price I paid really matched the room i got. My only negative comment would be that the main bed was on rollers and when id sit on it, the bed would move.
- Ursula (9/5): Convenient and Comfortable - Simple and a bit worn and aged, but at this price for a roomy two-bedroom downtown stay, one can hardly complain! There are no frills: no cushions in the living room, no ice tray in the freezer. But we had the necessities.
- Sean (7/5): -
- Ellen (8/5): - Location, convenience Building is dated, heatpump in mezanine room sounds like an airplane taking off, too loud.
- Guest (8/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Good city centre apartment - A very nice, clean apartment that was well-presented upon arrival. The location was excellent, just around the corner and a short walk down the road from Southern Cross Station. Reception hours are a little short, finishing at 5pm on my departure date (Easter Monday), which meant that I had to use private luggage storage facililty at the station at a cost to myself. .
- Bernadette (5/5): Ok. Noise always a problem as windows not double glazed. Apartments definitely in need of an upgrade - Position Check in was very average. Arrived at 5pm on a public holiday. No-one at reception. Had to call multiple times to get an answer on phone. Even though room was already paid for, I had to send through ID and credit card details before finally getting details of how to access the appartment. Don’t appreciate giving details to a stranger on end of phone
- Vicki (7/5): Basic accommodation close to facilities and public transport. - Excellent location with easy access to public transport. We were also able to leave our car in the parking area for an extended time after check out which was very convenient. The property was signed differently to the booking name of the accommodation which caused confusion when attempting to access.
- Alex (7/5): Great location, good enough, but don’t expect a luxury stay. - Cheap nights stay. Great location for the footy and for the price, a 2 bedroom apartment was great for us and the kids. Old facilities. No one on reception for checkout. Patches on the wall and carpet worn.
- Lizzie (9/5): Great location and base for exploring Melbourne - Great location right by the Docklands area. Staff were friendly and helpful and let us check in early. Got everything you need for a few nights in Melbourne. Kitchen was small and a bit cramped
- Phillip (9/5): Was exactly what I was after. - Check-in was easy. The staff were friendly. Onsite parking. The apartment had heaps of space. The location for was terrific for a concert at festival hall. A few good pubs within a short walk. Would stay again. Clearer directions on where to pull into when arriving. Parking garage is off of La Trobe road. You have to pull into the parking garage opening then run inside and get your garage door key while you hope another car isn't trying to exit.
- Spiteri (9/5): -
- julia (7/5): - Our apartment was clean, comfortable and conveniently located. It's really well located for airport Skybus, trams and trains. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped. There is a supermarket across the road, and plenty of cafes, restaurants closeby. Communication was extremely poor. My 2 requests about early car parking in the Comments on Booking.com went totally unanswered. I tried phoning 3 times, unsuccessfully, to follow up my request. I eventually made contact the day before our booking and was able to access car parking early which was great. But on arrival at 10.30am we couldn't get into the car park. Reception was unstaffed, and we couldn't raise anyone on the contact phone numbers at reception. Finally a security worker was able to let us in. But this meant we never received the 'key' which would allow us to exit the car park the following morning, with noone around to assist and phone contacts being once again unavailable. This caused considerable delay in getting to the airport. The whole car parking experience was extremely stressful.
If communication and staffing of Reception was greatly improved, I would happily recommend this hotel.
- Mandy (10/5): Very happy about our stay - Close to the train station Nothing
- Mathew (5/5): - Location Stayed in the 2 bedroom penthouse, very noisy, heard everything outside, hard to sleep.
- Sinval (7/5): Reasonable flat in Melbourne city centre. - Well located at walking distance from the train station. Stove didn't work and kitchen gear isn't enough for cooking. The flat has a smell of mustard which indicates issues with drained.
- McKenzie (8/5): - Location and ease of check in. Friendly staff. Luggage storage was useful. Needs some sprucing up. Carpet stained. Remote control for air conditioning downstairs not working properly and unable to be replaced. TV remote not working but quickly replaced. Fan switch in upstairs bathroom not working.
- Emily (9/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): - Easy access to Tram Stop & Metro
Great friendly staff.
Bag storage. Limited kitchen utensils
- Vicki (8/5): - Great location…plenty of room We assumed we could leave our luggage for a few hours on checking out….no one at reception at 10 am Sat….so we went to a luggage storage place and had to pay
- Siu Ying Monica (8/5): -
- DANNY (1/5): Not 4 star please review that rating. - The location is okay and the gentlemen on desk Sunday was pleasant. It was not 4 bedrooms two rooms not private and one room no door. Also had cockroaches in bottom room and several insects. One sheet was dirty
- Briele (3/5): Stay somewhere else. - Very well located (near marvel stadium and shopping outlet) Extremely dated and dusty. Pillows and linen were very bad quality.
- Cory (7/5): - Good size room and bathroom with kitchen and fridge very comfortable Matrice needs to be replaced
- Lauren (1/5): Not worth it - Location was close to the train station Despite mentioning at the point of booking that we were due to arrive late as we were on the interstate train, it took 3 phone calls before someone answer one of the after hours phones. The staff member wasn't interested in talking to me until after I sent through my photo ID and hang up on me. Even though I informed the staff member, I was sending the email with my ID through straight away, it took another 5 phone calls before they answered one of the phones again. I wasn't informed I had to pay by credit card until after I had sent my photo ID despite during the booking process, I had opted to pay cash to avoid the credit card surchages. He spoke quickly with a heavy accent making it difficult to follow his instructions to open the lock box with the room key. Overall the check in process took over an hour and no check out and hotel information was provided.
The room itself was run down. The beds were uncomfortable, and had plastic feeling sheets. One of the couches was ripped and had no support to it.
We had booked to stay in the same accommodation on our way home but have decided to go elsewhere due to the negative experience.
- Danielle (7/5): Great Location for Events at Marvel - Location to Marvel
Convenience to Coles
Well stocked kitchen Pillows were very thin
Entrance unkept
- Julie (7/5): - Great location.
- Ben & Nicole (10/5): - the view and location
- Pamela (1/5): I don’t think booking. Com should have this property on their sight - Nothing arrived to find they had cancelled our accomodation no help in finding anywhere else . Didn’t go past reception it looked to be very unclean heard a guest say they saw a rat on level 5😩
- Raymond (9/5): - The shower heat and pressure the bed was great. There was no Netflix or cable TV on a rainy day you have to stay indoors
- Victoria (1/5): - Close to where we wanted to be.. Our key card didn't work to enter into the area to catch the lift. ( The staff member had not activated it at all)
The rooms were not clean, and the blind was broken in 1 or the bedrooms.
Air conditioning was not working correctly.
Reception was not attended, and the after-hours numbers we phoned did not return our calls.
The picture shows 6 people trying to check out and were also trying to call staff and no response.
We were very disappointed indeed and feel this was a waste of our money.
Booking.com should not be advertising this place to stay and should look at the reviews Google and Trip advisor.
If I could give a minus review I would ad it was horrendous!
- YING KUI (8/5): -
- Darren (6/5): Staff are not reliable - The room was ok. When requested, staff gave a held luggage pickup time of by 1600 (when they 'start to close' despite having office hours 9-5). I arrived at 1545, reception closed and no answer for both numbers provided. This affected 3 lots of travellers. If you know people are coming to collect their bags at a certain time, at least have the decency to be on premises as agreed, or answer the numbers provided. Lucky the maintenance guy allowed us to fetch our bags, which whilst it was the best option, it was not a particularly secure one. Useless.
- Dianne (5/5): Was a little disappointing however was a great location - Location
Nice fresh sheets Dated . Smelt like wet dog as we went in.
- Deborah (8/5): I would stay there again if I needed - That it was a very short walk to Mavel stadium. Which was amazing A little bit dusty eg window ledges
