Guest Reviews
- Nick (10/5): -
- Emilia (7/5): -
- Alena (9/5): - Umístění v obci nedaleko Chor Virap, prostorný pokoj, velká společná terasa s výhledem do zahrady s ovocnými stromy, výborná domácí večeře a snídaně, pohostinní majitelé.
- O (10/5): - Host was very responsive over booking.com.
Dinner was delicious.
Room was very spacious and comfortable.
Pretty cool views of a nesting stork from the window! Nothing much to add, great stay.
- Paul (7/5): -

- Sabrina (8/5): - The owner were very welcoming.
We ordered some food and was literally delicious.
- Paolo (8/5): - Bagno piccolo
- Nazar (10/5): - Very nice and friendly owners. Clean rooms. Food is homemade and organic, delicious.
- Maria Jolanta (10/5): -
- Kacper (10/5): polecam - kochani, mili panstwa
- Miyu (8/5): - People was very nice and warm. They have good hospitality. The house also clean enough to stay comfortable. My favorite is homemade fruit juice. It was very tasty. And after dinner, we enjoyed watching Armenian traditional music on Youtube. They taught me a lot about Armenia.Thank you. I saw a few spiders with webs in the bathroom and toilet. And, I got many bites from mosquitoes...When I left the guesthouse, I felt
itchy hole my body and checked it out at the hotel, I found total 9 bites on my body. It's so uncomfortable.
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Štěpán (10/5): - Boris was an excellent host offering a great service, amazing homemade food and lots of wise conversation. If you’re looking for an authentic stay around generous people, stay with Boris.
- Harley (10/5): Comfortable guest house with great hosts - Boris and Sana were fantastic hosts, very friendly. Lovely terrace with views of the mountains. Boris treated us with fresh fruit from the garden, and kindly let us use the washing machine to do laundry. Breakfast was made with produce from the garden.
- Anselmi (7/5): -
- Christian (10/5): - Great place. Sona and Boris are the perfect hosts, friendly, helpful and a great company. An excellent location to visit Saint Gregory Monastery with beautiful views of Mount Ararat. Try their homely food for a superb culinary experience.
- Nicola (7/5): -
- Guido (10/5): - Stay at home location. Very helpful owner who speaks very good English. View on Ararat mountain from the balcony.
- John (10/5): Beautiful house and garden with friendly and interesting hosts who give you a free run of the place - Owners are a friendly and interesting couple with stories to tell. Beautiful house and garden, excellent food, compote etc with many products from their own garden. Maybe the best breakfast I have had in Armenia. A perfect place to break the journey south or simply to overnight if you are visiting Khor Virap. Nothing
- Stefano_PE (10/5): The best in this area! - Accoglienza speciale, cortesia, ospitalità e cibo home made.
- Sahakyan (10/5): -
- Omar Farook (5/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): Brilliant hosts in convenient location. - Boris was a great host and the home cooked meal we received was delicious. Balcony has brilliant views. We really appreciated being able to do laundry. Close to Khor Virap in quiet road. The rooms were very hot at night. One had a fan but no AC and the other didn't have a fan or AC.
- Honza (10/5): Exceptional - Boris and Sonia are wonderful guests, we had both dinner (after late arrival) and breakfast. We stayed with large family and it was very quiet.
The facilities are exactly as presented.
- Erik (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Marcopuravida (8/5): Very good -
- Petra (10/5): Exceptional - The loveliest guesthouse in Armenia, lovely people, tasty breakfast and amazing view!
- Chandra (9/5): Superb - The host is very friendly.
- Colin (9/5): Superb - Boris and family made us feel part of the family, laying in amazing homemade meals even for me as a vegetarian. Great location for exploring nearby. Floors could have been swept better in our room, and the interior room has a window onto the hall that can't be screened from lights there, so if people turn the light on to go to the toilet at night you notice!
- Coen (10/5): Exceptional - Boris and Sona are really kind and warm people, the dinner and breakfast are really fresh and delicious, the room was cozy and clean and there fruit garden and homemade juice and jam are truly amazing, I will surely want to come back Nothing
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Cornelis (9/5): Superb - The friendliness of the host and hostess was overwhelming, so kind! One of our children had an eye infection and the host was so kind to help us find eye drops in the local pharmacy. He's a retired medical doctor.
We had dinner and breakfast there which the hostess cooked for us. It was very good food. They both were extremely friendly and hospitable. I would recommend staying here, because this place cannot be beaten.
Beds were comfortable, place was clean, terrace had a nice view on Mount Ararat. Nothing. Everything was good for us, but keep in mind that you share bathroom with others, so sometimes you have to wait a little. We disn't mind.
- Maria (7/5): Good - I liked that I stayed in an authenthic Armenian house. It is not a guest house made for tourists.
Hosts didn't even know that we are coming, but still prepared a super nice dinner and breakfast.
However, there is not much comfort if you are looking for that. They also have a dobermann walking around.
Hosts don't speak English, only Armenian and Russian. But they are frendly and are sharing a lot about Armania.
I liked it very much. I didn't like the dobermann abd that it was a bit cold.
- Ágnes (10/5): Spacious guestroom in Aygevan - The hosts are amazing. There isn't a separated kitchen but we could use the hosts' kitchen and they helped us in everything.
The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was also clean. Thr rooms were quiet. Tge place is an ideal location to visit Khor Virap.
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Boris and Sonia were very kind and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast and both was amazing and plenty of it. We had a great time there and we can absolutely recommend this B&B.
- Oleg (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hosts, helpful and polite
- Astrid (9/5): Superb - Boris and his wife were very friendly hosts. They offered us tea and coffee when we arrrived and they prepared an excellent dinner and breakfast. Also we had some interesting conversations with them.
- Denisa (7/5): Good - Accommodation with grandfather and grandmother in the village. This is a large apartment that you share with the owners. They are very nice and helpful. The man speaks good English. Upon arrival they offered us coffee or tea and brought us fruit from the garden. We stayed on the top floor which also had a bathroom, toilet, terrace. A large kitchen in which you can cook is also part of the accommodation. Accommodation would need air conditioning in the room. We were given a fan, but even so it was very hot in the room. After opening the window which was supposed to help make the room better we were again bitten by mosquitoes. At the same time there is a giant dog in the accommodation and although nothing happened it was not pleasant for us. We are writing this also for allergy sufferers !
- Weimin (6/5): Pleasant - Geusts can see the snow-capped mountain from the balcony of the house It was hot as you were staying in the stove, it is fine without air conditioner,
but why not a electric fan?
- Ninetin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brunner (10/5): Exceptional - Owners are great and really hospitable. They helped us a lot during our stay.
- Murat (6/5): There is room for some improvement - The people in the house were really nice and very attentive. They were very kind and welcoming. There were always tea and coffee available if you asked, plus sweet apricots from the garden. There was no air conditioning. There was a big ventilator in the room but it was not.enough. The kitchen was messy.
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional - A very warm welcome awaits you here at Sunrise House. This place cannot be faulted, very highly recommended. Thank you Boris
- Lubos (7/5): Good - pleasent owners, really nice people. location is not very interesting but if you like something out off beaten path and among origin Armenian peoples in the country then i would recommend. don't take it as a critic, just it is matter of taste.
- Saroj (9/5): Superb - Host was very nice and welcoming..
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ivan (9/5): Superb - Such a nice place to stay in. Super friendly family and one of very few available places to spend a night. Totally recommend!
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely friendly and welcoming hosts who made us dinner and breakfast and even gave us a little gift to congratulate us on our recent marriage. Lovely hosts and a good location for Khor Virap. The room was very large and extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend! Be mindful that the roads leading to the property through Aygavan are very pot-holed. They’re fine if you take it very slowly.
- Miguel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chahar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Németh (9/5): Perfect Armenian village atmosphere, a 15-minute drive from Hor Virap Monastery. - The host, Mr Boris, was very hospitable. We were given lavash bread and his own pickled cucumber, which was a world champion. The area around the house was a bit run down, but we had all the comforts inside. The terrace had a wonderful view of the Ararat. Breakfast was well worth the price, we had very tasty eggs and homemade jams. There is nothing wrong with the accommodation, a real village house with chickens and a dog, the village itself (Aygavan) and the surroundings are a bit shabby. Perfect overnight accommodation if you want to visit Hor Virap Monastery, as it's only a 15 minute drive.
- Katarina (7/5): Good - Friendly owner and nice view of mt Ararat Room was a bit shabby, bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
- Stevetai (9/5): Superb - Boris & Sonna were very hospitable, interesting and kind hosts.
Dinner and breakfast (optional) were delicious and prepared from fresh local produce. A great taste of Armenian home cooking.
Conveniently located for visiting Khor Virap (8km), Ararat Village (6km).
- Martin (10/5): Amazing experience - Amazing experience, Boris and his family was so pleasant. Coffee and amazing breakfast. I loved the terrace with a spectacular view of Ararat. Just open the vine there, sit into comfy sofa and relax! Possibility of trip to Chor Virap for a nice money. Must visit Boris and his Sunrise house.
- Artem (8/5): Very good - Kind and intelligent hosts.
- Cecilia (10/5): The most wonderful hosts!! - Boris and Sona were the loveliest hosts! Definitely book with them if you like amazing people doing their absolute best to make you feel at home, great food and want to learn more about Armenian culture, history and music. They were so generous with their own stories and the stories of the country and we feel like we left a piece of our hearts in their home.
Would definitely return next time we are in Armenia!!! Nothing - just great people and great hospitality!
- Felipe (10/5): This place is amazing - Loved it. Host were so friendly very nice to us.
House is very clean.
easy to find
In the morning he gave us his home made apple jaam which is amazing i bought 2 Nothing everything was perfect
- Rastislav (10/5): The host is amazing! -
- Duxla (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly host. Dirty kitchen.
Non-functioning toilets and dirty showers.
Old equipment.
Large and somewhat aggressive dog.
- Sheny (8/5): Very good -
- Esther (7/5): Good - Amazing breakfast!
- Kristina (4/5): An extremely hot bedroom, not recommended visiting in summer, since they don't have A/C. Nice views - The views The doberman they had at home, who would not always follow the owners' instructions
- Petr (9/5): Thank you for a very pleasant stay. -
- Emily (10/5): Really enjoyable stay at the B&B we had a beautiful view from the balcony. - Very kind and hospital people and friendly dog.
- Anniina (8/5): Very good - It was nice shadowy place to escape the heat. The village is cozy and the view is very beautiful. Boris is very helpful and nice. The house and the balcony are very nice and the atmosphere of friendly. The breakfast was the best we have had in Armenia. There was no air con or fan in the room and it was very hot. Some in our room couldn’t sleep because of that, but if you are used to it it’s not a problem.
- Isabel (10/5): Exceptional - Great location for Khor Virap. Hosts were extremely welcoming and provided us with a fantastic dinner and conversation.
- Adéla (10/5): Exceptional - This homestay accommodation was perfect. Hosts were very very kind and friendly, they provide us lovely homemade dinner and breakfast. The property includes a balcony with beautiful view of mount Ararat. Unfortunately we could not stay longer....
- Szymon (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay. Very kind, and welcoming hosts. Clean and tidy, all as we would wish. An amazing view onto the Ararat mountain from the terrace!
- Sam (6/5): Read Google Reviews First - They Are Accurate - The hosts are fabulously nice and the dinner (not included, 3k for one course) was wholesome and filling. But the bed was bad. I’m sorry but as a guesthouse the massive divot is just not up to standard, no matter how you try to cover it backs can tell.
Also the cold shower at night not the most pleasant.
- Ming (10/5): It's a good experience. - The host was very kind and arranged the accommodation and dinner for us. They also took us to pick cherries, mulberries and apricots, which gave us a good experience. The bed is hollow in the middle, making it uncomfortable to sleep.
- K (9/5): Superb - + very friendly and welcoming couple
+ big house with wooden floors
+ very tasty lunch/dinner offered + simple room, small window
+ Did not meet the doberman who went off with another female dog. Hopefully, he will get castrated prior to his future excursions! There are already too many street dogs in Armenia …
- Cathie (6/5): Pleasant - I feel badly saying anything negative because sona and Boris were very friendly and welcoming and opened up their home to us but I just don’t feel previous reviews were accurate. I love dogs.. their dog hector is a large Doberman with a deep bark but he really did not want anything to do with us. Boris has him trained well so if you are uncomfortable with hector borus has him under control. Place is very hard to find with no signs outside. Best to call when you arrive. We had sona cook for us a dinner… had soup, Greek salad, beans and 2 breads. One of our beds springs were shot and squeeked loudly with any movement. Linens and towels clean. Shared bathroom and bedroom not so much so.
- Mieciu (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming and kind hosts speaking English, spacious clean room, quiet area
- Nick (9/5): Comfortable guesthouse that is full of charm - This spacious mid-20th century family home filled with vintage furniture and works of art has been sympathetically converted such that it retains the aura of a family home whilst providing guests with large and comfortable private rooms. English speaking Boris and Sonja are gentle, charming hosts who, together with their adult children and grandchildren, could not have been more welcoming. Despite our last-minute booking Sonja conjured up a wholesome and tasty evening meal and our desire for an early breakfast was graciously accommodated. And what a treat breakfast comprising fresh eggs from the family hens, home-made jams and local cheeses. It is a lovely place to stay but there are two caveats. Firstly, the family is completed by Hector the Doberman a lovely loyal, but very sensitive boy who dog people will simply adore. Secondly, the guest rooms share, one WC/washroom and one shower which may not be everybody’s ideal. Neither were a dealbreaker for us and we really enjoyed our all too brief time there.
- Schmitt (10/5): Friendly Armenian House <3 - Boris and Sonia were so welcoming and friendly. Sonia is a great cook. The room were very big, the bathroom is shared with the other guest. Cold water...
- Sebastian (9/5): Superb - We received a very friendly welcome, since we hadn't eaten anything during the day, they cooked for us. very tasty but way too much. 🙈 the host and his wife were very friendly and we really liked the house. gladly again.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - We stayed one night due to a strict time schedule, but it was a special occasion to meet the true armenian culture and their ospitality. The dinner was amazing!
- Michaela (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you for a wonderful experience and the opportunity to share time with Boris and his family. Delicious food and especially amazing conversations about Armenia's history, people and country. We thank you
- Ksenia (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts Boris and Sonia are very friendly and welcoming, they made me feel at home. They also helped me to organize trips to nearby nature reserves. Their house is spacious and clean, it has a great view on the Ararat mountain from the balcony. And they have a very nice dog!
- Sehl (8/5): Good hosts, not so good home. - It is not what we liked, it was who we liked. Mr. Boris and his doberman, Hector. Hector just darts around the house, if you are really scared of dogs, this is not the place for you.
Mr. Boris was amazing, he knew english fairly, made it easy for us to communicate. Showed us around the property. His wife made us a very lavish dinner (expensive but). The house was very tough to reach and tougher to find in the night. A very silent village. The rooms were on the top floor. No toiletries were provided but that was fine.
But the beds, the rooms weren’t comfortable. Very cheap quality beds made sounds on every move.
The blankets were not much clean also. Overall it was cheap and definitely a cheap stay.
- Marek (9/5): Great - The host was very friendly and he gave us all thahtť we needed. He responded very quickly and was okay with making us a tea. The room were quiet and clean and it was clean. I recomend him 100 percent nothing
- R (10/5): Exceptional -
- Seraina (7/5): Good - The owners are friendly we had dinner at the guesthouse and payed for two people 11000, well this was actually our most expensive dinner on our whole 2 weeks Armenia trip. food was still good but we where just surprised about the price for a vegetarian dinner.
- Marta (8/5): Very good - The host Boris offers homemade food (for us it was late dinner after check in) with meat and veggie options. It's paid extra but still a good option if you are tired and don't want to go out.
The host speaks communicatively in english, what is not so obvious in this country ;) The owner of the house has a very big dog named Hektor. Hektor is crazy in a bad meaning, he chases cats, barks loudly, steals food from the table and looks fearfully.
- Anna (5/5): only for corageous, not for sensitive - the room was big and spacious, the host was welcoming the entire floor including our room smelled weirdly, badly. The tarrace could have more sitting places than just for two people to chill out. Our bed sheets were covered with sth like dog hair, that was disgusting, I had to put my tshirt on the pillow before lying my face on it. Bathroom was dirty, there was a collecton(!) of dirty/used ear buds on the mirror shelf, and the shower was dirty and clogged with hair or sth. I would mot recommend that place, and O am not a very picky person who can bear various condictions in the place to stay
- Incnis (9/5): A nice place to stay within a cheap accessibility of Yerevan. - Firstly, the hosts (Boris and his wife Sonia(?)) are nice, not like typical petty business-people. Cooking was excellent. Moreover, Boris helped me to mend one trouble (due to my fault) to a farther extent than I expected him to do.
The site also has a view of Mt. Ararat. Not a quiet place. Hector, a nervous dog, barks loudly and often. Also this dog sometimes clutter door- and stairways. On evenings there is an avid car traffic. The cattle mows. You can also hear freight trains in night.
- Anastasia (10/5): Amazing hosts, amazing people -
- Ieva (10/5): Exceptional -
