- Jinciele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tiffany (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was super nice and helpful The beds were super super super hard . The hot tub wasnt very deep ..you can only order food and drinks by calling the front desk so if you don't speak Japanese it's tricky
- Nicholas (4/5): I was not given the room from the pictures. There are many better options nearby. I regret staying. - The TV was large. The mural on the wall was interesting. There was a fun little massage chair. I was not given the room I booked. The picture shows an open air bath and I was assigned a different room after I arrived that did not have one. The check in area is sketchy and old and there was trash under the bed that had not been cleaned. For the money I paid I could have had a much better experience at a different hotel nearby.
- Adkins (7/5): Interesting amenity but effectively cash-only if you don't have a Japanese credit card. Weird door. - This location seemed like it was a little older than some of the hotels I've been to in Japan. After discovering that I liked the bathing facilities in love hotels more than those in traditional and more expensive hotels, I have stayed in several when I've needed to be in Tokyo overnight. I chose this one with the expectation of the same. I was quite surprised when I discovered that my room had an unadvertised "open-air bath." Basically, there was a little antechamber shower, which was a nice stall type, and then there was a door leading out of the shower onto a patio which had a little table and two chairs and a very large whirlpool bathtub, like a mix between a whirlpool bathtub and a hot tub, with provided bubble bath. It was surrounded by uninsulated wood slat walls that provided privacy but allowed the outside air in. It was also open to the sky to a certain extent. It was a great experience that I wasn't expecting. The floors were a little dated but very clean. Also, there were no random different levels for no reason inside the room itself on which to stub one's toe. It seemed like they offered several services that I didn't make use of, from some type of room service to women's lingerie costume rentals, lol. It was a very nice place to stay, and the staff members I interacted with were very nice. I liked that compared to other hotels of its type, it had an earlier check-in time and a later check-out time. It felt like I could actually rest. As mentioned above, the hotel staff were very nice, even when I had some problems at the property. Booking.com requires a credit card on file to make reservations, right? However, it was not an option to actually pre-pay on Booking.com, which causes a serious problem you should be aware of if you are planning to pay with any credit card which was not issued in Japan. Japanese credit cards use the IC style chip that is the same as those in their transportation cards. IC technology is a proprietary technology that is not used outside Japan. All the rest of us have RFID chips in our cards if they are equipped for insertion or tap payment. In this, as in many love hotels, there was a machine upon which to make one's payment. It quickly became apparent that I was not going to be able to use my credit card on the machine because of the issue with the IC chip. I figured maybe I wasn't even supposed to, because of the way the machine behaved, and that perhaps they planned to just charge me using the Booking.com app. However, a few hours into my stay, I got a call from the front desk asking me to use the machine to pay. I went out and confirmed that it wouldn't work. I had to call the front desk and speak with two different employees who had some English ability. Both were very kind and went to talk to their boss about the issue. However, ultimately, I had to have an employee walk me to an ATM so I could withdraw cash to pay their machine. It was a stressful hour in an otherwise nice stay. Effectively, this property is cash only if you don't have a Japanese credit card. Also, weirdly, you can't leave before check-out without calling and having an employee let you out since they do not give room keys. This was fine for me, but it seemed like it could turn into a horror movie for a woman going there with a man...
