Guest Reviews
- Susan (9/5): Spacious, clean and well presented - Loved the lovely old cottage, very spacious, clean and well presented. Wished we had stayed more than one night.
- Guest (9/5): Lovely - Quiet, pleasant garden view from loungeroom. Kitchen and bathroom facilities great. Clean. Nice to have a few books to read/look at. Fresh eggs from local chooks. Dog friendly accommodation. Friendly host.
- Steph (10/5): Very grateful to have been in a place that is so homely and enjoyable - The food that was left for us was lovely and we had eggs from the resident chickens which tasted amazing :) the house was brilliant, so comforting and homely. I cannot wait to come back to this beautiful place. There was nothing I didn’t like about the property
- pandasmith (10/5): We could happily live there. Loved every minute of our stay. - The house is beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable.
The garden is gorgeous .. and the hens laid us eggs for our breakfast.
Superb spot .. we would love to stay again.
Thank you ! Nothing
- Rhonda (5/5): Emily was lovely, and responsive to our situation - We left the property at 9pm as my husband was unwell Lots of flies in the property
- DIAN-XUAN (8/5): - Its a cozy house with a great dining room, bed is also comfortable. We like it to have two toilet that we dont need to line up for it in the morning. We left our bread on the kitchen table, and saw a cute little mice eating it in the early morning. Understand its a countryside.
Recommand to get a bigger pot so its easier to prepare bug meal/soup for whole family
- Christine (7/5): Kindness rather than curt would have helped. - Nice kitchen. Effective heating. Fresh eggs from the wandering chooks. 1. No top sheet under the doona. So when doona got too hot we were uncovered. 2. Weird layout of house. 3. There had been prior discussion about our visit to this very small town for a funeral service for a well-known resident and wanting to be able to get in early enough to drop our stuff and head to the service. We followed Google Maps incorrect info and got totally lost. When we rang for advice with mere minutes to spare we got told very curtly the info had been sent and just to follow instructions. Ignoring the fact that I had responded to the message and hadn’t got a reply. The service was held up waiting for us. We were the last there and late. Inconveniencing far more than just us. A moment of kindness at the time of our call instead of rudeness would have made a massive difference
- Driscoll (10/5): - I love the location in a very cute small town, very friendly people, super close to other towns for groceries and other things to do. A great stop for a tassie roadtrip. The house was perfect, beautiful kitchen, the coziest lounge area, able to do laundry was a huge bonus. Left us breakfast food was also a bonus (fresh eggs!) We wished we stayed a week here it was that good. The heated blankets under the sheets were also perfection
- Xiaoyan (8/5): 整体满意 - 挺不错的
- Tanya (8/5): A great stopover on our way up north with lovely touches like electric blankets to keep us warm - A great stopover on our way up north with lovely touches like electric blankets to keep us warm

- Peterson (10/5): - Emily was a very easy communicator. We certainly appreciated Jenny who helped us in our moment of confusion. This house is well appointed for cooking own meals. We were lovely and warm staying here in July. Thankyou.

- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Casey (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in Ross, it’s very attractive with historic homes and streetscape. - The location was an easy walk from the Main Street. Breakfast supplies were basic compared to other places we’ve experienced whilst in Tasmania A small stool/chair in the bathroom would be helpful to place clothes on.
- Cap'n (10/5): Perfect - Wonderful amazing couldn't be better Everything was wonderful
- Yixuan (8/5): Loved everything about this place except no laundry facilities - The property is absolutely charming — every detail is carefully thought out, and the entire space feels cozy and inspiring. You can truly feel the host’s dedication and love for the place. As a photographer, I was especially impressed to find a professional guide for stargazing and aurora photography in the house — such a unique and thoughtful touch that made my stay even more special. We booked this property under the impression that it included a washing machine and dryer, as stated in the facilities on the platform. We had planned this stop specifically to do laundry. However, the house does not have any laundry machines at all. After multiple confirmations with the host, the only available option was a paid laundry service in town, which was quite inconvenient and did not match the listing description. This was the only aspect that caused confusion during an otherwise wonderful stay.
- Sally (10/5): This was the perfect one night stop on our travels around Tasmania. Easy walk to town. - The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The supplies in the kitchen were generous and the bed were comfortable.
- Claire (9/5): The cottage was really well appointed. Warm, comfortable and everything you need for a stay in Ross. - Thanks for the breakfast option and enjoyed the gourmet food truck around the corner. All great
- Cuthbert (7/5): Good - Handy location Lack of washing machine
- Robert (10/5): Amazing stay at this property and super friendly host - Nice and big and super homey.
- Jennifer (10/5): Very special. We would love to go back. - The manager was a beautiful, friendly and accommodating person. The cottage was clean, fully equiped, spacious and very comfortable. In a great location, not far from town and in a quiet spot. Pets allowed. Resident chooks were a highlight. Nothing at all.
- Crandell (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lesley (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Good and quiet - Once we found the property it was great We were informed to go to number 2 The High Street, but its not there. In fact after I rang the cottage we were informed to go to the motel to collect the key for a short drive to the cottage.
- Gina (8/5): Great overnighter with the in-laws - Very simple instructions with all the comforts you need. Nothing
- Toni (8/5): Lovely quaint cottage with everything you need. - What a quaint lovely comfortable little cottage. Great spot, very very quiet. Loved the chickens!! Perhaps some butter for the raisin toast at breakfast and the addition of electric blankets for winter. Perfect in summer but might need them in Ross in winter.
- Zhenzhong (10/5): Nice town and house. We have a great day! - Nice house and very kindly all is good
- Bernadette (9/5): Superb - Loved the house. Nothing
- Minji (9/5): Lovely town and country feel cottage. - I loved the whole town - Ross. So glad we had a night over on the way to Hobart. We were all pretty tired as we traveled from Melbourne and the place was very cozy and quiet. Everyone had a comfortable night. It is an old house but well managed and had all we needed. Emily who showed us around was friendly. It was advertised as breakfast included, there was milk and frozen bread in the fridge, I don’t think it would be classified as breakfast. If there was fresh bread and spread then maybe. Anyways we were happy to get fresh pies and coffee from Ross bakery for breakfast.
- David (7/5): Clean comfortable accommodation - Walking distance to the village
- Kim (10/5): Warm, comfortable and well located. - Great location. Very comfortable bed. Hot showers with great water pressure. Nothing. Was exactly what we needed.
- Ruth (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - We had a lovely stay in the cottage at Ross. The freshly laid eggs from the resident chooks were a wonderful bonus.
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional - Considering we went in such cold, windy weather, there was perfect heating, so did not feel the cold at all. It was very close to town which was great for walking around.
The host was very helpful when we lost power.
