Guest Reviews
- Hugh (9/5): A good relaxing, comfortable time. - The grounds of El Questro were of a high standard, setting out good options for any traveller, being campers, caravaners and us as unit accommodation. We liked Zebedee falls as well as the Chamberlain cruise. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The meals were adequate for us but the steakhouse was not open yet. There were multiple opportunities for laundry/showers/toilets. Our room was very comfortable overlooking the river. It was air conditioned and a comfort during the heat of the day. There was also diesel available. The single bed was not useful as a couch and made it quite uncomfortable.
- Virginia (8/5): Would recommend - Location, uncrowded , close to 4WD tracks and lookouts and Chamberlain River cruise , very friendly staff everywhere We were early in the season so only one food venue open so little choice of healthy food options, ie salads etc, non fried foods.
Cabins could have had a microwave, larger spoons (only teaspoons provided).
- elizabeth (5/5): Despite the lack of activities, we love El Questro and were so grateful to be in the same room we - Accomodation, location of our room and the wonderful environment were fabulous We should have been warned at the time of booking that there would be no tours and no restaurant and no swimming option.
Without a car we had to stay put with not much to do.
Someone with common sense should come up with a plan to organse an entertainment program for situations like ours i.e. film night, games night, trivia - activities that may have provided an excuse for socialising
Tables near the bar were too widely spaced.
The staff were mainly new and not trained properly. We made a complaint on our first day.
On our holiday we went to the Lake Argyle Caravan Park - run by the same people who run El Questro. It had a completely different vibe. Long term staff, cheerful atmosphere (and terrific pool where people talked to each other)
- Lana (10/5): Perfect holidays - Great location and amazing staff 😊
- Kate (8/5): -
- Sally (5/5): Disappointing - Not much Very crowded . The Riverview cabins do look onto some scrub but are next to the workshop and the general hub of the facility. So not very secluded.
Restaurant is a very loose term for a dining hall , steak was terrible.
Possibly the Homestead would be better but much more expensive.
- Ulrike (10/5): -
- Amy (10/5): -
- Ivana (8/5): - Lovely atmosphere
Family focused
Creek jumping for the kids
- Petr (9/5): Good spot to explore all around - tyre repair shop to make up all of our flat tyres: the best value of the place!
- Joann (7/5): -
- Rosemary (10/5): - Info at reception re tours.
4WD evening lookout tour to Brankos.Lookout
The Steakhouse.
Atmosphere at Swinging Arm Bar w singer
- Sharon (9/5): Amazing part of our Adventure - Loved the whole experience. River Cruise was a fun afternoon. Only having one restaurant. The steaks at the steak house were not so good.
- Nitya (8/5): Stunning scenery - So much to do, stunning place. I was automatically charged for visitor permits when I checked in, I didn’t realise as was just told I had outstanding payments to make on this booking. That night I received email receipts, noted I was paying $65/ room in visitor permits, this was quite annoying as I have a season permit, so do not need this. Went to the reception the next day to request a refund and told not possible as I booked via booking.com. My booking.com booking did not have a permit with it so I am confused as to why this was the case

- Ann (10/5): -
- Ian Perkes (8/5): -
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luca (8/5): Great location - Cabin accommodation is good, spacious, comfortable and clean. The location is perfect for some great hikes and lookouts Food choices are too limited (the available options are good though)
- Kristie (7/5): Good -
- Helen (10/5): Just wasn’t long enough. - The glamping tent was very comfortable and close to facilities
- Joanne (10/5): It was the biggest surprise to me how wonderful this place was - I loved everything, it was truly an amazing stay. I will definitely be sharing this holiday with everyone It was perfect to me
- Leica (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (5/5): It was not an enjoyable stay and was well below our expectations. It was advertised as an EXCLUSIVEstyle of accommodatio - The bar and cantina The restaurant was overpriced and had children running around all night. If we are paying high prices for a meal , we don’t expect to be sitting in an atmosphere like McDonald’s. Also we paid high prices for our accommodation ( garden view room ) and did not have any cutlery or plates provided. We should have booked a tent instead as we had no privacy at all. There were campers sitting outside our doorstep sunbaking and socialising from morning till night. There was no privacy at all.
- Nitya (7/5): Short stay to show visitors El Questro, they enjoyed it - - love el questro- so many lovely places to explore. My three year old loves it a lot.
- rooms were neat & tidy
-steak house food was great
- restaurant staff at steak house and Emma gorge were very friendly and accomodation
- view from river view room was beautiful, but seats were wobbly - Emma gorge restaurant lacked high chairs
- price for rooms is high, would be nice if basic breakfast was included for the price
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- William (7/5): Good -
- Louise (10/5): Beautiful room, bring supplies, store doesn’t exist - We booked the cabins on river
Beautiful outlook to bush and small stream
Balcony and chairs perfect
Aircon
Fridge
Kettle tea and coffee
Toaster but no plates or knifes
Very clean We were smart
Bring supplies that don’t require cooking. Bring wine or drinks
The store is not a store it’s a fridge with a few sandwiches and a few tomatoes
Restaurant closed
Dry food some breakfast stuff and noodles
You could eat at the pub each night if that’s your thing
- Philip (4/5): Disappointed - Good accommodation Limited food options, corporate run therefore not flexible. Excursions cancelled due to numbers. Staff knowledge limited.
- Cath (5/5): A few days at el questro - The accommodation was very comfortable and clean.
Staff pleasant
Entertainment of an evening most enjoyable
Lookouts spectacular
Location, zebede Springs beautiful, emma gorge - though the track markers were a bit hard to find. Our rooms offered daily servicing that never occurred. A few plates and some crockery would have been helpful. A microwave would have been great. No breakfast options.
Thankfully we took cereal with no bowls available only cups.
Good size fridge
The resort we felt was still opening up, the dining options were limited to the cantinna 12-7 which had limited options. The steak house we thought would have been opened as per the website was still all closed.
A few options of seating/picnic tables along the river near the swim hole would be great. The only seating available were bench and stools around the bar area. Nothing around the camp kitchens which were well set up for cooking.
Information / talks on the indigenous history of the land, local flora and fauna at the station would have been a bonus.
We would rather disappointed with the station and what was available for the cost.
- Susan (9/5): Beautiful and breathtaking scenery - Very comfortable and relaxing Would have liked culture and plates
As we had liked to prepare our own breakfast and lunch most days
- Julie (8/5): Very good - Just beautiful scenery
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Judy (10/5): Plan your stay and stay for days. - It was the most amazing place ever. We were going to camp but due to weather we decided an upgrade to cabin. Our room was so beautiful. It was like staying in a resort. Just as the pictures show our river view room was perfect. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Meals at the Swinging Arms were great size. And delicious. The coffee was great. We did a helicopter flight around the station and it was the highlight of our stay. Put it on your must do list We didnt plan well enough for being there at end of season. As travellers that flew in we didn't have food packed for meals. Unfortunately the steakhouse had closed for the season so breakfast wasn't available.
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Joshua (8/5): Very good - No breakfast, location was the best. Fight the southerners, location should consider local discount in that time of year. Any one from Down south.
- Joanne (5/5): We were a little disappointed, but made the best of our trip - The remote location
Maybe tell guests who are staying in the cabins that all you can get for b’fast is a wrap or banana bread. We would have bought some supplies with us
The meals were good in the evening. Happy with the quality You need a pool when the temperature is at 40 degrees in the afternoon. Lovely to be able to cool off in a pool later in the day.
We preferred the accomodation at Emma Gorge and the surrounds they offered.
- Malcolm (8/5): Very good -
- Gabrielle (8/5): Very good - Fabulous location. Facilities great. Staff friendly and very welcoming.
- Aphrodite (8/5): A lovely getaway that requires a lot of prep work - The natural setting Options for food are extremely limited
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Antonino (8/5): Very good -
- Judy (8/5): Loved our stay. - The Queen powered tent was great. Very comfortable. Located in a beautiful area of the Kimberley’s with plenty to see. Limited food choice. Showers and toilets could have been cleaner.
- Fjharvey (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Great for families - Tents with air conditioning fantastic great location toilets were close by clean tents were great great bedding We stayed 2 nights Saturday and Sunday both nights they had loud live music which sounded great but it went on too long staying in a tent it was too noisy I think the music should have shut off at 8 to 8.30 not till 9.30pm and 10.00pm hey I love live music but after travelling you just want to sleep or rest after all we r in a caravan park plus if I had my music playing loud I would be asked to leave. Overall I enjoyed the stay.
- Boris (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (1/5): Absolute misrepresentation - Nothing It was nothing like you indicated on your website. And your follow up email contains pictures that are far removed from what we experienced. As feedback, we checked in, immediately sought alternatives and left. The 2 nights we had paid for were immaterial to the decision
- Marcelle (4/5): Disappointing - Location and walks great. Food. Service. Cleanliness. Value for money.
- Stuart (6/5): Pleasant - our cabin had a great outlook over the creek crowding of the area and the expense of the accommodation, Cooking was not possible in the rooms with a very limited offer of food from the site
- Russell (7/5): Good -
- Channells (8/5): Very relaxing and adventurous stay with so many places to see. - The grounds at the station are beautiful wish we could have stayed a week longer. The helicopter rides are a must!! The dinner menu at the steak house is expensive and lacked variety. Lunch menu however was great!
- Jenny (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Yanni (9/5): Superb - Quality of facilities, staff & food
- Carly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judith (8/5): Beautiful area -
- Geoffrey (10/5): Fantastic. Glad we made the effort. - Loved the tent, air conditioned and the bed was so comfortable. Dinner at the steakhouse was a bit of a mix up and delayed. We wouldn’t have know but the waitress confessed and offered us a free drink. I told her all good, where humans are involved there will always be mistakes. We are only human. Nobody is perfect.
- Liz (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (9/5): Great fun -
- Silvana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - The safari tents are great. The location is stunning and surrounds you. The restaurant was excellent. Nothing
- Rachelle (7/5): Good - Beautiful location. Great food Tents at Emma Gorge are hot & stuffy with no air con
- Silke (4/5): had a night at Emma’s after and that wasmore what we were expecting. Emmas George was lovely - friendly staff and lovely location tent for $342 and not even a kettle in it.
booking .com had diffrent picture on page so we were expecting a bit more then just a tent
- Ron (7/5): Great base for walks in El Questro and surroundings - Cool for a tent due to the AC. An oasis in the middle of the desert. The most expensive tent I have ever stayed in.
- Callum (3/5): Poor - Liked that it was central to waterfalls and springs. Live music nightly. Value for money, no camping accessories. No kettle was given to even boil water to make a coffee/tea.
- Marilyn (8/5): Very good -
- Guy (9/5): Superb - great place on the Gibb River Road
we had a nice riverside studio
lots of fantastic things to do…especially recommend the river cruise and Emma gorge hike
good pub pizza place and restaurant
- Susan (2/5): Very poor - The meal, except they didn't have everything on the menu. We booked a tent that was air-conditioned, which was not required, the lights didn't work and paid $320. Alll the tents were on top of each other. You could hear everybody talking and snoring. For the price, a bit of room would of been nice.
Not very happy. Had to pay for a day pass and because we were there for a night, we had to pay for a week pass. How is that fair. Too many people squashed in the van park. Not a good stay at all. Very disappointed with El Questro. Couldn't get out of there quickly enough.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (8/5): Very good - Great place to visit with plenty to see and do . Nothing stands out
- Donna (9/5): Superb - Comfortable beds in the tents, loved the environment and landscapes. Shower/toilet facility floors often a bit wet and muddy, but difficult to manage this I would think.
- Ben (8/5): Very good - Terrific property with excellent facilities
- Jo (9/5): Superb - Location Nothing
- Sonya (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (6/5): It was good to see on the shoulder session far quieter hate to be there in the peak re crowds - N/A Station tents with on suite bathrooms or a private ensuite area designated for the Station tents only ,although the tents were very comfortable thankgod for the airconditioning re station tents we were comfortable with it
- Vivien (9/5): Superb -
