Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): We would highly recommend this property. Loved the the unspoilt coastline - Location location location

- Bruce (9/5): - Beautiful location and building, lots of space, private beaches, well equipped.
- Lesley (7/5): Relaxing location - Location was Great Could of used a Spring Clean
Lack of communication
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect place to recharge and enjoy the beautiful area. - So peaceful and serene.
- Julie (10/5): Nice and peaceful with comfy bed - The location was very peaceful on a farm. It had an open fire which gave a lovely ambiance.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sanna (10/5): Exceptional - amazing, tranquil place, would have loved to stay longer. Private beach, coffee machine, great kitchen and views
- Fiona (9/5): Beautiful place and a terrific experience all around - Location was stunning. The cottage was really lovely and well stocked. Comfy spaces. There's no wifi - which is fine, but the info about the house claimed it had good phone reception and we hardly had any at all. Unfortunately, we went away to do a specific internet based task - so it was particularly annoying.
- Kosol (10/5): The house was cosy with a great fireplace and a peaceful location next to a beach. -
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Austin (9/5): Superb - We were delighted with ou stay. We have booked through Booking.com and the booking fee was 33% more than what you charge on your website. Far too high !
We asked them, on 07.05.2024, to justify that fee and we are still waiting for an answer...
We will come back to Lisdillon property with pleasure but we'll book directly with the owner.
- Cheryl (9/5): Superb - Lovely historic stone house with information about it, can purchase wine which they give to you directly. Fireplace available and spacious with all the needed modern amenities. Would have loved to go to the beach but the trail wasn't clear.
- Suzanne (10/5): Amazing & relaxing with outstanding views, and wine from the estate delivered to your door. - I loved the beautiful old buildings that were renovated to an amazing comfort level. The views of the ocean were sensational and to be able to walk to a private beach within a couple of minutes was perfect There was nothing I didn’t like about the property
- Gabriele (9/5): beautiful renovated country farm stay. - beautifully renovated and nice and quiet away from hustle and bustle probably the location a tad away from things. If you did not have a car to access would be a problem
- Richard (9/5): Memorable stay in comfortable, secluded and historic property with superb scenery on the doorstep! - Historic property whose renovation has maintained its character whilst providing very comfortable and up to date facilities. Extremely spacious with lovely indoor and outdoor seating options. Beautiful and secluded location with amazing views over to Freycinet and Schouten/Maria Island and with access to private beaches and walks. The constantly changing sun and clouds created beautiful memories of scenes which change from day to day or even hour to hour.
There was an issue with no water when we arrived but this was generally well managed, albeit we were lucky we had Australian mobile data access for messaging. Except for 1 hand towel the bathroom has no hangers, rails or surfaces for towels, suggest a few hooks on the back of the bathroom door or wall at least.
Although Katherine tried to notify us pro-actively of the water issues on arrival this didn’t succeed as the Booking.com notification of new messages didn’t arrive until the following day and having Wi-Fi available would have helped a lot.
- Alan (10/5): Fantastic property, beautifully appointed . Relaxing and luxurious. - The remote location was wonderful. Walking down to the beach was beautiful and serene. The facilities were excellent, everything had been thought of. A great place to stay A very minor comment, the sheets on the bed were not great quality
- Jacky (8/5): Idyllic country getaway on a beautiful property at a convenient location - The most outstanding feature of Lisdillon was the scenery down at the lagoon early in the morning. The silhouette of mountains and islands in the distance, coupled with the tranquility and prettiness of the lagoon was breathtaking.
The house itself is much more spacious than the photos suggested. The kitchen is extremely large, with an extra large cooktop/oven and grill, and a large crockery cupboard with lots and lots of chinaware. There is a large set of Scanpan saucepans as well as a huge range of kitchen accessories.
The loungeroom is spacious and the wall window looks out to a nice country style garden. The bedrooms are spacious (one with 2 single beds and ottoman bed, the other with a queen bed). The bathroom is rather small but functional. The house is well built and well insulating. No noise are audible from the neighbors but will hear birds early in the morning.
Another interesting experience at the property is walking past all those sheep when going for walks.
Lisdillon is actually in a very good location. I based myself there for 3 days going to Maria Island (20-30min drive). There wasn't really any accommodation at this level in Triabunna and Orford, plus their prices were rather expensive by comparison. It is also convenient if one wants to do a day trip to Coles Bay as it is half way between Hobart and Freycinet NP. The property is about 1km from the Highway through a good unsealed road. Cleanliness was the biggest let down, otherwise I would have loved to give Lisdillon 10/10. Issues have been discussed with the owner who is endeavoring to make improvements.
The bathroom needs towel racks and shower caddy. There were too few power point around the house so a power board for charging would be nice. Dining chairs were too small for even a small person like me. Attempts by the owner to put larger square cushions on top didn't really work.
- Theo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerrie (9/5): Close to the beach with lovely views - The property was close to the beach and the beds were super comfortable. We had a wedding at Thalia so super close so the location was perfect for us. Nothing
- Kellie (8/5): It is a novel place to stay, suited to families. -
- Simone (9/5): Really relaxing and beautiful place to spend a few days. - Rustic charm, comfortable and spacious with interesting features, well appointed kitchen with good quality kitchenware, lovely garden, very peaceful and a nice variety of birds. Private beach. Dishwasher not working.
- Sharee (10/5): Relaxing and superb place - Beautiful property
- June (6/5): Pleasant - The house was spacy with too good bedrooms and it was close to highway and beach The house seemed not to be quite ready for guests, dish washer did not work, the porch and garden was not made up. Only one wine was available. Small bedroom for 4 people
- Kerryyy (10/5): Lisdillon Estate - Everything!!
Private beach, sheep, cottage gardens, decor , working fireplace and the beds were soooo comfy! The guests next door for leaving a note on our car regarding our parking🙄
- Lynda (9/5): A well appointed, comfortable, historic accommodation beautifully positioned in the most scenic area - We loved our walks around the property- the animals and the amazing view. Everything was fantastic- the lack of cold running water in the kitchen was a little problematic.
- Fitzone (9/5): Superb - Very historic property within in a large working farm, nice views, great walks, best for a few nights accommodation so you can do plenty of exploring.
- Marlene (9/5): A great place to stay “off the beaten track”. - The surroundings were lovely. The walk to the beach was great and the dip in the ocean was exhilarating! The kitchen was well equipped and the living area was very spacious. The toilet was upstairs which made it a bit difficult for one of us. The fireplace had not been cleaned out after its last use and made the room a bit smelly on entry. We cleaned it out and all was good!
- Penny (10/5): Memorable for all the right reasons. - Beautiful character cottage with quality amenities. Extremely comfortable chairs and beds.
The private beach was the icing on the cake.
- Peter (8/5): Certainly a good place to stay - Lots of character, great location, comfortable Wasn't the cleanest
- Maureen (9/5): Superb - Beautiful property. Had everything we needed. Hosts so friendly & helpful. Brilliant.
- Dave (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Jen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerrianne (10/5): The sunrise from bed in the morning should be included in the propert features. it was beautiful. we had a great night. - The property was stunning. Great accommodation for a couple or family. Easy access off main road. very comfy bed and great amenities.
- Jenni (9/5): An extraordinary experience. - This is a stunning property, and the coach house was amazing. The winds were too strong when we arrived to have a look around, but we felt warm and cosy in the cottage and in the morning were able to walk down to the beach which was truly stunning.
- Megan (10/5): Magnificent location and stunning property with everything you would need for your stay - What a spectacular historical property in a magnificent location. We got up and watched the sunrise over the private beach, explored the beach and property with the sheep watching our every move lol. The coach house had everything we could possibly have needed. Very clean and Katherine had the heating on ready for our arrival. Only thing for me the bed was too soft but that is just my personal pretence and would not deter me from staying again or recommending to people.
A bigger sign might make it easier to find off the main road too
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): A wonderful, comfortable house in an excellent location - Wood burning fire. Walk down to the sea. The sound of waves crashing on the beach. A very comfortable stay Some of the plates, glasses etc had not been washed up well by previous guests
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful setting, wonderful property.
Enjoyed my stay. Everything was great, there was nothing to complain about
- Rosemary (10/5): Superb exceptional and every other adjective known to man - Everything Nothing
- John (8/5): My stay was quite enjoyable - Location was nice however quite isolated. One would need to be prepared and take all necessary food items I believe the owners had done everything to make the experience quite enjoyable. A toilet downstairs would make it a bit easier .
- Wilma (10/5): Exceptional - beautifully done
- Rosemary (10/5): divine in every sense!! we never want to leave - everything….
words can’t express how beautiful this accommodation is. maybe if I had to be picky…. I would have like curtains on the huge doors in the living area for more privacy but we coped
