• TS (10/5): Close to old town.Great overnight for quick stop. - Arrived late to the property however were still welcomed by the owner pleasantly.The bed is installed with curtain and the shower/toilet is inside the room. Close to old town but if you need to go to the town center you might need a little bit more walking.But it is fine. However the kitchen is pretty simple and could be tidier during my stay. None

• Nikki (7/5): Good for 1 night, close to bazaar - Stayed 1x night at Cico Hostel, was good for this amount of time. Was a good location (very close to bazaar), reasonably priced, friendly hosts and comfy bed with plug, light and privacy curtains. The 8 bedroom dorm room was very small, not a lot of floor space (although there is a locker) and only 1 bathroom (toilet and shower in same bathroom), which meant you often had to wait a long time. There was also not much of a social or common area, which made it hard to meet people.

Famiglia estremamente gentile e di cuore, sempre pronti ad aiutarti e consigliarti. La posizione è perfetta perché in centro e grazie a questo è molto facile orientarsi.

• Dina stes (7/5): it was ok for just sleeping - The location was good, the beds were comfortable and there was a curtain for privacy. The room is very small and getting into the shower while people are still sleeping was challenging and unpleasant. You can't really sit in the living room because the seating is uncomfortable and the family/hostel owners are there most of the time so it feels uncomfortable (in my opinion). The owner was nice overall. But this is not a hostel where you can really develop relationships with other travelers.

• Lanson (9/5): Nicely located guesthouse in Gjirokastër - Close to the Gjirokastër old town and within reasonble walking distance of the bus terminal, but still, be ready for the hike up the steep stone-paved streets! Clean room, comfortable bed. Like the simple, modern decorations with some Ottoman-style touches. The common area is actually the owners' living room. In the evening, you will see the family gathering there. There is no shower enclosure in the bathroom, so the floor is left wet after shower, which can be tricky, if you just want to use the toilet.

No free tea or coffee .l(50c) no kettle or bowls , plates knife or forks. Only coffee table that you could use if the family wasn’t using it. If you just want clean bed this is fine , 6 of you all use the only combined shower toilet. But often a long leg crossing Waite
• Wing (7/5): Cramped and chilly night - The floor and bathroom were kept clean by the staff/owners. The sheets were fresh and clean. I felt cramped in the room which was small. There was only one window just above my bed and it was reasonably left open for air circulation; however it gave me a cold head all night.

Might be an easy walk from bus terminal if you're young and active due to the uphills, and easy walk to the new town due to short distance. Cico was very kind helping me getting a taxi. Nothing, I wished I stayed longer.

• Nicky (10/5): Great hosts and great hostel! - Ariana and her husband Koli are the sweetest people you can meet. They are so nice, ready to help and really interested in spending time with their guests. the hostel is very centrally located. it is spotless and both Ariana and Koli are constantly cleaning. the dorm rooms are nice, the beds are very comfortable and with curtains for privacy. there is also a big locker with keys. There is no kitchen. I really enjoyed Cico hostel and hope to go back for the folk festival. Thank you Ariana and Koli, it was a real pleasure spending time with you at your place! everything perfect

Fantastic value for money Not really a hostel, more of a guesthouse, so don't expect a social atmosphere. But this is not an issue otherwise.

• Marcin (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location just 200m from the heart of the city. Thanks to that you are there in 2 minutes, but the place is not as noisy as there. It is a small family business, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. When I informed them I had my leg broken and would prefer the lower bed they organised me it even if the place was busy. The price is also the cheapest in the city (the moment I booked). 100% recommended!

• Anaina (10/5): Exceptional - I had an incredible stay at this hostel in Gjirokastër! The family running it was exceptionally helpful and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The bed was comfortable, with privacy curtains that provided a great sense of seclusion. I requested an early breakfast, and it was served punctually the next morning, which I really appreciated. The location is fantastic, and the overall experience was one of the best I've had. If you're visiting Gjirokastër, I highly recommend staying here. It's a gem! 5/5.

• Kate (7/5): Great location! - The location is amazing and the place is quiet. Only a ten minute walk from the Old Bazaar area of the city. Not a party hostel by any imagination. The staff and family there are very friendly and speak enough English to be able to communicate pretty effectively. The place is small and the dorm room is very tight with only one bathroom for 8 people. The bathroom itself is small with not much room for items and little ventilation so smells accumulate. Also the water from the shower spreads all over the floor which contributes to the smell.
• Jørgengjøsund (6/5): Pleasant - The beds where really nice, especially with the curtains. Nice, comfy and clean. The bathroom was dirty and disgusting and despite being cleaned every morning between 10-11, it got dirty again in 10min. Smelt as well. The staff made a lot of noise in the dorm from 9-10 in the morning and shouted a bit that woke me up. Didnt really have a common area except for a couch. They are cheap on the AC. Turning it down and off at 8 in the morning

• Ornella (10/5): Perfect! Kind and helpful hosts. - The hostel it’s located 2 minutes walking from the centre of the town. The family lives there, and the son is who explains everything. He is concerned about making sure you are comfortable and giving you all the necessary information, he is 10/10. Everyone in the house are extremely kind. The room and everything in it are new (mattes and pillows are comfy). If you go at the back of the property you have an amazing view of the castle. They also offer 2 type of breakfast 👌🏼 Nothing bad
