Guest Reviews
- lisabeth (7/5): Juste pour dormir ,et deux ou trois nuits maximum - L'emplacement est top. Chambre extrêmement petite,la douche de même. Frigo et télé hors service

- Nader (7/5): It’s a good option if you’re not picky, and in a great location. But wow. I was shocked at the things I saw around the p - Once inside the unit, all was great. The building is incredibly obscure. One must find Block B on the first floor of the building and then choose between two elevators that go up to the even number floors and off number floors. There’s normally a line for both, and it’s rather uncomfortable. Also, the building is atrocious.
- Kenneth (5/5): cheap, ghetto, too small, no shower - its cheap, A/C wasnt cold at all.
TV Broken and wrapped in a bag.
The shower was the toilet, loterally smaller than a toulet stall in a bathroom. had to stand sideways in door to use the toilet, Entirely too small, nowhere to shower at all, had to straddle the toilet to shower LOL

- Paulino Reyson (4/5): -
- Darkhan (7/5): Good -
- Thomas (5/5): Convenient for a place to sleep and nothing more - Conveniently located Floor number is wrong in the address
Sheets stained
Found two dead cockroaches under the bed
Manager seemed annoyed I asked to check in
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Maurice (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sueun (9/5): Superb - Thank you for your kind consideration!
- Hayden (5/5): Not terrible - once we found it 🇭🇰 - A very budget-conscious stay for three nights.
The beds were comfortable, small TV and fridge.
AC wasn’t used as the weather was mild.
To find this accommodation was a bit of a nightmare.
Very confusing with no instructions.
The atmosphere is intimidating if you first arrive late at night, but we found everyone in the area to be friendly in the end.
First you enter the building via Chunking Mansions on Nathan Road.
You proceed through the ground floor markets to the second elevator - Block B.
Take the elevator marked with odd numbered levels to the 11th Floor.
We messaged the host on the Booking.com app to come outside the rooms and collect us.
Took us an hour to work this process out.
The bathroom is tiny with the shower and toilet sharing the same small room - this was the only thing that would have me look elsewhere in future.
- Candra (1/5): Bad -
- Sachse (9/5): Quick to book and they are very responsive in communications. - Great location, great value for travellers on a budget. Wish there were more photos of surrounding area, to help location the room / reception easier.
- Anggita (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly owner, worth the price👍🏻
Close to MTR and other tourist destinations
Thank you !!! I wish they have washing machine inside
- Santosh (8/5): Very good -
- Abdul (7/5): Good -
- Padasay (7/5): Very good location - I had a good rest for 2 nights of stay. Good location, nice staff, convenient, close to mtr station and room was clean. Mild issues with the exhaust fan.
- Delphine (2/5): Good location, affordable price for (expensive) Hong Kong but bad experience for us. - Central location. Affordable room for Hong Kong but some negative points. We booked for 2 nights: Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, they moved our stuff to another room. The manager sent me an email on Saturday around 12:00 to inform me (information not communicated at check-in). I was not in the hotel at this moment and I had no internet data in Hong Kong (before check-in, I had advised that I had no data). On Saturday night, we came back to the room, opened the door, found our things gone and other people sleeping in. It was a shock!
I called the manager and even if he sent quickly somebody to lead us to the new room, I think it was a big failure of communication and inappropriate behavior.
The room of the 1st night was not 12 m2 as indicated for the booking: seemed closer to 6m2. Very poorly maintained.
The 2d room they changed us too was better maintained. But almost as small as the 1st one.
Only one small elevator to arrive to the 12d floor where the hotel is. Lot of people using it, very often a long queue to go up.
- David (5/5): Overpriced (but clean) little hovel in the depths of a high-rise slum - The guy who runs the accommodation was friendly enough, and while the building itself is a disaster, the location, Tsim Sha Tsui, is great.
Despite how small the room was, it was surprisingly well appointed, with a mini fridge, AC, TV, and even a microwave and water dispenser outside.
It's pretty clean, all things considered. For starters, the building, the so-called "Chungking Mansions", is a total slum. Filled with South Asian and African shops, guesthouses, and all manner of hawkers, it's a warren of corridors and elevators that does anything but make the average traveller feel safe or comfortable. Don't look down the window shafts if you don't want to throw up 🤢
The guesthouse itself is grossly overpriced for the tiny room you get. I paid about $50 (Canadian) per night on the weekend, and this goes up to $200/night during the week, which is just absolute robbery.
As I mentioned, the room is tiny, and the shower and toilet share one small space; there are no windows.
There is noise and people talking loud in the hallway at all hours.
Be sure to check that the fridge is on, because otherwise you'll be putting your food in...a box 🤷🏻♂️
- Radi (10/5): Good place to Stay for a short time - It was clean and Kind Service .
- Sylvia (8/5): Very good - The hotel is in a central place giving you a chance to visit more places and evening walks. The own was actually very helpful and very accomodative The beds omg I reminded me oh high school.. They are not comfortable at all. And the rooms are so small. Upgraded to another room but still the same type of beds and still small 😢😢
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Katrina (6/5): Served its purpose but could be better - Spacious room, and with own bathroom Elevator not working during certain hours, dirty stairs and lobby around the entire building
- Fino (2/5): Very poor -
- Timothy (10/5): Last minute booking saved the day (or
night) - Room was clean and comfortable and had very effective air conditioning with convenient supplies and drinking water, great for a hot, humid night in HK. Staff was immediately available via internet app and got me checked in quickly despite a late night arrival on short notice booking due to my original hotel canceling my reservation and I had to scramble for a replacement place to stay. No criticism of the hotel, but I didn't realize when I booked that I would need to check in via Wechat, WhatsApp, or phone call since there was no physical check in desk, which appears to be common these days in HK but was new to me. Since I didn't have operating phone service, I needed to find free wifi to connect to staff to check in. Luckily staff was helpful and responsive once I did connect.
- Haseeb (5/5): Passable -
- 旻霖 (8/5): A good location with high CP inn - That is next to the MRT Tsim Sha Tsai and it always has the crowd around the building. Most of foreigners like to stay there for the short time with sightseeing. You could have a good night view at Victoria Harbour. No.
- Grant (4/5): Cheap sleep if you can put up with a crazy host - Good sleep Crazy owner
- Sunil (8/5): Good stay, compact room, value for money. - Breakfast was not included in my stay Nothing as such
- Keisuke (1/5): This room is for criminals .Not for travelers. - Nothing Everything
- Saladdin (8/5): Very good -
- Tony (7/5): Great location minimal needs so no other complaints - Great location a private room with shower at an affordable price Check in was not the best experience as I was without internet data so I follow the value on the listing but the actual check in location was a different floor so I had to trouble other guest for wifi and check in instructions which the host sent in the app which I was not aware
- Phil (1/5): Bad - You go to the floor you were told to go to, then you take you to another floor, they didn't have the booking number or my full name, I refused to give some random guy my passport, I tried to cancel the 4 nights, they said I would have to pay a cancellation fee plus the room for four nights, The people hanging around the door way trying to sell you things makes the the area look cheap and not a safe place, there are many better places just a few blocks away
- Quek (7/5): Good - Location Too rowdy the building that the guest house situated. The room without windows and small. The bathroom combined with the toilet bowl. The wash basin under the beam and use to knock on the head while using.
- Jakub (3/5): Poor - When I came to check in, found out I'm gonna stay in the same building but completely different guesthouse than on the pictures. Completely ridiculous. Worst booking.com experience so far. Avoid this place
- Shigeta (7/5): Good -
- Fadi (1/5): Room was sub par. Charged me 500 HKD deposit on arrival which was not mentioned on Booking. Told me it would be returned -
- Lodi (5/5): Passable -
- Pierre1988 (8/5): Very good - Amazing Location and good price for Hong Kong Nothing to say
- Chichun (9/5): Superb - Boss is very hospitality!
- Nola (5/5): Passable -
- Gavin (8/5): Comfortable room - This was the newest , cleanest most comfortable guest house out of all the ones I have stayed in at the Chunking Mansions. Will stay there again. The internet was weak in my room.
- Ahmad (10/5): Great and humble staff jay you are fantastic ! - Clean nice Everything is perfect
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - The staff was friendly and I had good space The toilet was loud
- Kevin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Francesco (2/5): Very poor -
- Lw (5/5): Passable -
- Lucy (8/5): Very good -
- Liu (9/5): high performace cost rate - Good serve, suitable price room size, not suitable for family travel
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Salah (10/5): Nice Stay with reasonable Fare - The Staff who welcomed me was Kind, the location is perfect, Clean Room, compared with what you pay is just Great.
