• Wolfram (8/5): Gutes Apartment mit Schönheitsfehlern - Gute Lage (im Winter - im Sommer lässt der Campo des Nachts viel Lärm erwarten). Die Ausstattung ist ok - allerdings viel zu wenig Geschirr (was soll da eine Spülmaschine?). Die Forderung nach schriftlicher Bekanntgabe aller Kreditkartendetails ist unüberlegt oder gar dreist, weil vielzu riskant. Dergleichen ist ohne Verwendung eines Kreditkartenlesegeräts unzumutbar!
• Anne Kathleen (9/5): Excellent location + best bathroom of our trip + clean and comfortable; a point off mainly for the v - We stayed at Ruga Bella as a family of four and overall had a wonderful, comfortable stay—especially because of the location and the bathroom. Host & check-in: The host was very accommodating and met us personally to hand over the keys. She also allowed early check-in since the apartment was vacant, which made arrival day much easier. We needed to do quick laundry and were able to use the washing machine, with detergent provided—a small detail that helped a lot. Apartment & facilities: The apartment is basic but functional, and it was definitely clean. We appreciated having enough space for four people plus luggage, and there were cabinets in the room where we could organize travel cubes and jackets. The internet was also fast enough for streaming (we watched Netflix using our own account). Bathroom (best part): This was honestly the best bathroom we had during our Italy trip. It’s spacious, the shower is large, and the water was comfortably warm. The shampoo and soap also smelled amazing—fresh and refreshing. The only minor drawback is there isn’t a proper counter inside the bathroom, though there is a drawer for toiletries and we used the cabinet top just outside the bathroom for extra space. Location: The location is a big highlight. It’s very manageable to walk from the station with luggage—only one big bridge and two small bridges (I’d still recommend packing light if you can). It’s right beside a canal, so you can also take a water taxi. The apartment sits on a charming piazza next to an old church, and we loved hearing the bells in the morning and evening. The square felt quintessentially Venetian—kids playing football, locals walking dogs, and a calm, lived-in atmosphere. There are restaurants right nearby (we didn’t get to try them), and everything is walkable—Rialto Bridge, St. Mark’s, and more. There’s also a Coop mini-mart close by that was well stocked. The kitchen is very simple—coffee and tea were provided, but it’s not especially well-equipped if you plan to cook. There’s no microwave, so reheating needs to be done on the stove. Utensils were enough for basics, though adding a few more cooking tools would be a nice upgrade.

• Simon (9/5): A great place to stay in a wonderful city - The location was great. We were a 2 minute walk from a pizzeria that we had gone to 25 yrs ago and loved. The apt was so comfortable and quite. There was no lift but we were only on the first (in America it would be called the 2nd floor though) floor. That is huge for us because we are not on vacation; we moved from the US and have two very large and heavy suitcases. We cook also and found that the kitchen was well equipped. The shower drain was really slow. You're standing in a puddle of your own dirty water almost immediately. Other than that everything else was great.

• Claudia (10/5): Amazing stay!! - We loved our stay at Ruga Bella! The location is fantastic – right near a lovely square with great restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. It was the perfect base to enjoy the charm of the town.

On the first night we had an issue with mosquitos and ants in the kitchen area. Once we killed all the mosquitos and were provided with bait/poison for the ants the situation improved.

• Veronika (7/5): We enjoyed our stay overall, but there were a few areas that could be improved. - The property was clean and in good condition. It’s conveniently located just steps from the food market and a variety of restaurants, which made getting around and dining out very easy. The apartment was a bit noisy at times, which may be worth noting for light sleepers. The kitchen could really use a microwave—it would make meal prep more convenient. We also experienced a mosquito issue during the last two days, despite not opening any windows. Lastly, all the pillows were quite hard, which affected our comfort at night.
• Waiho (9/5): Nice and luxury apparment - The location here is excellent. Inside, the apartment was super stylish and beautifully decorated, truly giving off a luxury hotel vibe. Having a fully stocked kitchen, coffee machine, and that handy washer-dryer combo made our stay incredibly comfortable. Our stay had a few drawbacks, nighttime noise from nearby gatherings and restaurants. We also faced a power cut, which support attributed to high electricity usage (two AC units plus cooking). While easily remedied by resetting the downstairs breaker and turning off AC during cooking. More concerning was the discovery of ants in the apartment. also no elevators

• David (8/5): Comfortable, well equipped apartment in a great location - Great location. Close to St Stae vaporetto bus stop and three local trattoria with an excellent supermarket in a lively square. The apartment was comfortable, clean and well equipped We spent a week here in early October and the weather was cold and wet. There was no heating so we had no way to dry wet clothes. Even an electric towel rail would have helped.
• Brad (1/5): Bad - Don't rent this place. The owners are very unfriendly. Upon our first meeting they shoved a four page contract in my face and said they would not give me the keys unless I signed. It was already 8pm, so I had little choice but to sign. The place is also extremely noisy so it was hard to sleep. Don't rent.

• Darjana (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing! A very spacious refurbished apartment right in the center of Venice on the cosiest square that immediately felt like home. Very comfortable, beds, sofa, a spacious bathroom, kitchen equipped with everything one might need for cooking, luminous and well styled. Most surprising were the totally soundproof windows - one of the nights we stayed there was a volleyball tournament right under the windows on the square, you can expect the loud noise, music and people cheering. No sounds whatsoever upon closing the windows - good night's sleep is guaranteed even for the most sensitive sleepers (like me). Price-value: definitely worth it. Location and comfort make up the total value and we were happy with this choice. Bring a mosquito repellent because you will always find one or two lurking, but it is Venice and right by the small canal. The apartment is located on the first floor, no elevator so be prepared to climb a good flight of stairs. Every morning rubbish could be given to the friendly government workers who call the buzzer (but have to react quick), and if you miss them, there is a rubbish boat in 5 minutes walking to the canal. The staff were wonderful, communication quick and swift and friendly. Checkin easy and very kind and helpful We did not find any faults at all, and will love to come back to this same apartment the next time we are in Venice, it truly is wonderful.

• Melanie (9/5): Wonderful flat in a favorite part of Venice - The Ruga Bella apartment was perfect - really a lovely flat in one of the best neighborhoods in Venice. The area is less touristic and full of actual Venetians, with a small supermarket, bakery, restaurants, and wonderful gelato all there at the door. The flat itself is spacious and nicely laid out and comfortable. It really was a great stay and I would happily stay again!

Only three bridges (one large, the other two small), to cross to get to the accommodation. 950m from train station. One flight of stairs to get to room which over looks a lovely piazza. Its so quiet. Everything is close. Great restaurants and a supermarket in the piazza. You could stay her and not walk any more than 150m to get everything you needed for your visit.

• Lewis (8/5): Beautiful apartment - Superbly decorated appartment, big for Venezia with many windows in a beautiful typical venitian building. I loved the situation inside a quarter where venitians really live. Away from too much tourist crowd. Then a bit far away from a direct path to piazza San Marco. North exposition of the facade, so a bit wet in mid-season. But it's Venezia so lots of water :)

• Irina (9/5): great place. will come back! - Great location, very nice place, very new, very clean. Venice is small, so everything is walking distance, also from this apartment. Halfway between San Marco and Santa Lucia train station. Calm enough, good insulating windows. The heating worked well. Kitchen well equipped, there was even coffee, olive oil, salt, sugar, kitchen towel ... things you don't necessarily want to buy in a supermarket just for a couple of days. Supermarket around the corner, at the same square. Very convenient. The only tiny "but" was that the room wasn't ready for check-in at 3pm - which is not a terribly big deal - BUT we were not granted any flexibility when checking out. Check-out at 10am is rather on the early side. No possibility to leave the luggage.

• Rowena (9/5): Perfect oasis of calm in the middle of Venice - The position was nicely away from the crowds but close enough to walk everywhere 😊 The washing machine and dishwasher were a bonus. Everything was brand new and clean. The apartment was a little ’style over substance’ in that the photos all look amazing but in fact the foot rest at the end of the bed means that you can’t actually walk around the bed without hitting your head on the tv!

It was located in a piazza and great to watch children playing and locals and visitors mingling. Close to waterbuses, restaurants and supermarket in the piazza. More steps than warned of!

The host did not tell me I would need to message them when I arrived to the apartment; I waited outside for 15 minutes assuming they would meet me at street level. I didn't have access to Wi-Fi to reach them. Clearer instructions would have been helpful, and hosts should not assume that vacationers have constant access to WiFi. The apartment is listed as having two beds, but the hosts assumed that as two travelers we would share one bed. The second bed was not prepared for us; we were told we should have told them in advance that we wanted to use both beds. Made for an inconvenient first night until they could bring linens for us the following day.
• Laurel (10/5): It’s even better than the pictures - I loved this apartment in the little campo with a few restaurants and a coop grocery store. The campo was quiet except in the later afternoon with children kicking a ball around. One night there was Italian music and a singer (crooner) coming from La Patatina restaurant and it was beautiful and not loud and disturbing. The apartment itself was pristine, new and clean and spacious. It has a lovely washing machine and a rack for drying clothes, a coffee make and even a dishwasher. The bed was very comfy. The shower is spacious. The school worked well and so did both tvs. I wish I could afford to live there. Couldn’t find a bottle opener

It’s been renovated so everything is clean and modernized. There’s a washing machine so it makes staying there for several days convenient. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends and stay here again when I return to Venice! The only thing I didn’t love was the lack of communication after I checked out. I realized a few hours after checking out that I forgot a dress of mine hanging from the window to dry. I forgot it because right when we were leaving the cleaning lady and the host arrived to clean the apartment and in the hurry of trying to get out on time I didn’t do a last-minute to check. I realize it might be too much of a hassle for the apartment to mail me the dress, but I did communicate with them immediately, and they wrote me back And I let them know that I would be in Europe for three more weeks. If they could please send the dress to friends and then they just dropped all communication. I understand that they might not have wanted to go to the trouble but at least they could have replied to my messages and let me know. That is the only negative thing about the apartment.

• Wiktor (10/5): Two days in Venice. - This place is simply amazing. It is located very close to Santa Lucia train station (only to bridges away) - and the main Venice attractions are in a walkable distance. Coop supermarket is 2 mins away - as well as many restaurants. Apartment is spacious and fully equipped - nothing is really missing there - and the quality is very high. I can certainly recommend it as a place to stay in Venice.

• George (8/5): Very good - You emailed me for my arrival time. I told you 9pm we would be at the apartment. You told us someone would meet us at 9pm. We waited until 10pm. Nobody came. We sent you an email and called the rental company several times, no reply. The waiter at the restaurant nearby called and Jassmine came to let us in. She said she tried contacting me on Whatsapp that day. I didn't get a message from her. This is not acceptable to leave us stranded late at night. I was so tired and furious as I was told someone was meeting me at 9pm to let us in. Not happy with this service. George Mikota

• Peter (9/5): smart, new apartment in great location. - clean, smart apartment with well equipped kitchen, nicely located in centre of Venice allowing easy access to everywhere. Comfy bed and very nice bathroom. Several restaurants only minutes away ranging from reasonably priced to more up market. Also a supermarket and bakery couple of minutes away. the TVs didn’t work; signal so bad was unwatchable. while the apartment itself was quiet, on evenings and weekends the square outside is full of noisy children playing football, kicking it against the hoardings beneath the property. Had to keep windows closed to block out the noise.
