• MarySue (6/5): Adequate, but disappointing. - We liked the condo, although it was not the one that was pictured on Booking. The location was good, views were nice. We liked listening the seals barking. Kitchen was well-equipped. We had to book at the last minute as our previous Booking.com unit was cancelled by the property owner. I was nervous to book, based on prior reviews. While the condo worked for us, we were disappointed that it was not the unit that was advertised on Booking. Communication was VERY slow. Key fobs to access main doors and pool did not work. Requested new fobs also did not work. We had to enter the building through the parking garage. The advertised BBQ was in the pool area which we couldn't access. Kitchen window was broken, as was microwave door and laundry area door. There are signs posted around the area that say no vacation rentals allowed and we were instructed to NOT speak to anyone in the condo offices. Do not believe all of the amenities that are listed on Booking. It looks like someone simply checked a bunch of boxes without thinking, for example, there's no front desk, the unit is definitely not disabled accessible, we never found the "on-site" coffee shop, etc.

We truly enjoyed our short stay in MDR and would do it again! - This beautiful penthouse condo is in an excellent location, with incredible views of the marina. It's quite spacious and uncluttered, well-stocked, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The bedroom closets are large, and the whole place was very clean. The HVAC worked fabulously. Don was also really helpful. We would definitely stay again! First and foremost, this is NOT a complaint, just useful information for the owners. While I think the cleaning service did a great job, there was a dryer full of towels tumbling when we arrived and all of the dishes were wet in the cabinets. In the cleaner's defense, it didn't appear that the dishwasher was working correctly, as it took a couple of washes each time. I notified Don when we departed the property about that and the fact that one of the fobs is not working.
• Robena (9/5): Great appartment with plenty of space and fantastic views - We booked this place months ago and had pre-paid, so after seeing some of the recent reviews just before our stay we were very concerned. We contacted the property and were assured that we were expected and that everything was in order. And we were not disappointed! The access to the garage and appartment was seemless, and everything inside the appartment was exactly as advertised. In fact, the listing photos do not do it justice because the appartment is actually on three levels, with the living room and master bedroom having a similar view of the marina. There were a few fixtures and fittings (i.e towel rails and toilet roll holders) in need of replacement or repair. The dishwasher did not clean properly, so we had to (re)wash everything by hand. The commute into LA attractions is about an hour, so take that into account in your planning.

• Stefan (1/5): This is verified false advertising & Booking.com doesn't respond - This is scam and booking.com doesn't do anything about it. Here is what this really is according to those who actually manage the property: "Let them (booking.com) know this was a residential community that does not authorize AirBnB and that the community manager requested that you leave the premises as you were trespassing." Hearing this - travelling alone with four kids after you paid a fortune for a special place to stay during your holiday - is horrible. This was certainly the worst travel experience of my life and being approached as a foreigner in the US by people who warn you that they will be forced to call the Police on you if you don't pack up and leave immediately is honestly horrifying. Even more concerning is that we wrote a support message to booking.com immediately - unanswered. A day later a request whether the communication was received - unanswered. A couple days later a phone call to the hotline in Europe - a support ticket was opened. Ten days after that - nothing has happened: Never received any confirmation via mail or any other channel about the support ticket. This goes even worse: Still this location can be booked. This is the point where I realize: Booking.com allows people defrauding me on their platform. And they don't care about stopping them to defraud you. This coming from a Genius level 3 account. Why they don't care? I hope they let me know before I involve authorities.

El alojamiento está dentro de un condominio de edificios ESPRIT donde sus instalaciones como Barabeque, Piscina, Gimnasio y otras áreas comunes NO pueden ser utilizadas por arrendatarios.

We got worried and messaged the property. The property did not respond, so we called multiple times. When the manager finally picked up our call, they informed us that there is a plumbing issue and that we will only be able to stay at the penthouse for one night (we booked for two nights). We thought this was weird because if there is a plumbing issue, we should be in a different room for both nights. We inquired several times regarding this mismatch but the property manager did not answer our questions. They even said that we were “lucky” to be able to stay in another room in the same apartment, which was located on the ground floor but was supposed to have the “same view” as the penthouse—how could this be possible?? The manager did not offer to compensate for the sudden change. Since they offered to cancel, we decided not to stay and asked for a full refund but received NO REPLY or NO REFUND after we sent that message. We were forced to find another place to stay and had to make a long call to booking.com to ask for a refund, which was a very stressful experience. We were travelling as a family and did not want this terrible experience to taint our memory. We are writing this review in hope that anyone who is looking to book this property is aware of the possible troubles they may have to go through because of the extremely rude and disrespectful property manager. We hope that this writing this review could can avoid anyone else having an awful experience like we did.
