Guest Reviews
- Kate (9/5): Gorgeous and very comfortable cottage - Beautifully presented cottage, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Quality bedding and exceptionally clean. The only thing of note (and it cannot be avoided) is it is a little bit tricky to park getting off a somewhat busy road. Also the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep - again not a negative (for us) but worth noting for people with limited mobility.

- Kate (9/5): Our stay at Allambee was cosy, cute and convenient. - Allambee was a cute home from home that my elderly mother and I enjoyed so we could stay very comfortably while being close to my daughter and her husband. Love the views of the mountain and the walk on the rivulet and the general surrounds of South Hobart and also the little touches in the house that made in interesting without being too cluttered or personal. The location near the corner of a busy intersection made it a little difficult getting in and out of the parking. The stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep so that I worried about mother (but she managed them.)
- Rhonda (10/5): Really beautiful property, would recommend it to anyone booking to visit Hobart. - Locality, super cute. Could not get parked at the property our full stay. Luckily we enjoy walking.
- fiona (9/5): Comfortable and charming -
- Rebecca (10/5): - Stunning house in a fantastic location! Full of beautiful art and interesting games and pieces making it feel homey and welcoming. An easy walk to central Hobart, and there are lots of eating places nearby.
We had no trouble with parking and the host was very helpful We loved the beautiful old staircase, but it is narrow and steep so if you have mobility problems then it might not be for you

- Amelia (7/5): - A cute little house with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Not suitable for 2 couples with the second ‘bedroom’ having no door or curtain. The listing also says bbq but it didn’t work. The stairs are also soo steep and creaky (and we kept waking up our friends whose bedroom was essentially the landing). Far away from anything.
- Alex (10/5): -
- Shaun (4/5): - Location was excellent. Cottage beautifully decorated communication was excellent Stairs to bedrooms are treacherous and bathroom was on lower floor, uncomfortable seating in lounge and insufficient heating source in lounge. More attention to cleaning the kitchen and bathroom needs to be given
- Maree (10/5): Brilliant - Allambee is beautiful. It is tastefully decorated but not cluttered. We loved the little pieces of family history where there was an explanation. It is centrally located between 2 foodstores, hotel, petrol station and cafes - short walks to all of them.
It is approx 1.8ks or 1 mile walk into Hobart central.
Yes we would certainly stay again There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- Eva (5/5): A business run house on a major road. Don’t expect personal service - Cute property- two double beds, good size bathroom, and easy to use kitchen Just fyi- one bedroom doesn’t have a door
Also on our stay a major road works were happening outside- starting at 1830 til 0630- so we had a lot of machine bodies and people shouting. For two of our three nights this was not good at all- being woken up by someone shouting at co workers, heavy machinery trying to go to sleep. I contacted the agent and they knew nothing of it but it’s been planned since last November - well before I a made a booking. They made no offer of compensation so it was a major ket down.
It’s on a major road also- so it’s not quite the ideal house I had imagined.
We also had to put our the bins out at their request, and told to clean up stuff (not bed linen)
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cecile (10/5): Wonderful - Location and facilities were fantastic Nothing
- Theresa (6/5): Pleasant Cottage - Loved the courtyard area outside. Very clean and location good. Close to excellent supermarket. Kitchen facilities good. Lovely quaint cottage. Travelling as two couples and advertised as two bedrooms we were very surprised to find one ‘bedroom’ was open to the stair landing with zero privacy. There was also no indication of the free wifi or streaming TV.. in fact no TV! Parking.. there was none.. as residents in the adjoining homes advised us they pay rent for their parking and they have this issue weekly. We were left with a car and no where off street to park it. (We worked it out with the neighbour). Would also recommend a notation not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as stairs very step and narrow.
- Madeleine (8/5): Very good - Beautiful little cottage, very cosy. Good location, an easy walk to the CBD, markets, MONA ferry, etc. Wasn’t ready for us on checkin. Some lights didn’t work/globes needed replacing, but when we asked for it to be done it wasn’t. On a main road, which was fine, just not what we expected.
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb - This accommodation has lots of nice touches that you don't get at a hotel. They even had a record player with vinyl records to choose from. The kitchen had all the ingredients for a good stay.
