Guest Reviews
- Sedgwick (5/5): - Everything really. Bath tap blocked.
no clothes line.
Windows kneed better blinds. No privacy
- Lucas (1/5): Terrible management - Not sure because we never made it. We were asked to pay a further deposit of $300. When I clicked the link, it was asking for $500 through another website. The person that I was communicating with was very unhelpful. In fear that I was being scammed, I booked accommodation elsewhere so we didnt miss our balloon flight. 2 hours later, they sent a link to a different payment option gor $300. By then, I had already paid for another place.
After carefully reading all the reviews in that 2 hour window, im glad that I di not stay there.
Oh and they also sent a message saying that they were short of supplies in the house and that the manager would pop in at some point to bring them. That also wouldve felt like an invasion of privacy.
- Anthony (1/5): It felt like a detention camp where we were being supervised. We couldn’t enjoy the outside. - The location was very good I got a phone call to ask why 4 cars were at the property when I had booked the place for 8 people. 4 cars is what would be expected for 8 people and isn’t a reason to be watching on security cameras and calling for that number of people. We were made to feel like our every move was being watched. Then on the Sunday the owner arrived at the property and told me he was there to measure the pool fence. 3 hours later he was walking around the house and around the veranda area where we were made to feel like we couldn’t enjoy our stay and were being supervised. This is completely unacceptable when we were trying to unwind and enjoy our stay.
- Helen (9/5): Perfect house for exploring the barrossa . Nice large double rooms - Location . House beautiful . Pool perfect size
- Marg (9/5): - The position,
The layout of the house for families.
The pool. Not very clean.
Dirt and dust under beds, outside garbage was full.
Dead Flys around all windows.
Pool was dirty.
The cubby house was in disarray.
- Georgia (10/5): A cozy home away from - Beautiful, comfortable home that met our needs and close to town.
- Adelin (10/5): -
- Jacqui (7/5): Gabby's is in a quiet and pretty location, we enjoyed the thoughtful welcome basket from the host - lovely, location, clean and quite comfortable Only one piece of wood for the combustion heater made it uncomfortable with the cold weather.
Would prefer earlier communication regarding deposit payment, not on the day of arrival, as it's difficult to sort when travelling. no local information on attractions and dining options
- Mauro (7/5): I stayed in the home due to working in Nuriootpa. It was comfortable stay. - The home is in a good location. Well appointed kitchen & spacious rooms & living areas. The fan on the wood heater is broken.
- Kaaren (10/5): Exceptional - Big open lounge and kitchen area with a large fireplace.
- Alice (6/5): Nice time as a family - Great location Pool wasn't clean, recycling bin was full, no information about what day bin collection was for us to put bins out.
Local information was 2 years old more recent info on what is happening or things to do (is a personal preference)
- Asher (8/5): Nice place to go with the family but could have been cleaned prior to arrival - It was a nice property, nice pool The beds were pretty hard to sleep on, I had to vacuum the floor when we first arrived there was hair and dust bunnies everywhere, could have used a mop too.
- Josh (9/5): Superb - Great house with everything needed for our week long stay couch was uncomfortable
- Luke (6/5): Was okay without being great - The location The lounge was poor, no instructions on how to use the oven, we asked for the mattress but didn’t receive it until the 2nd day, only one toilet inside the house
- Shani (8/5): Very good - Really great property. Would recommend to others. Spacious, exactly as described. Excellent location. Very comfortable beds. Tried on multiple occasions to contact the host. The main issue we had was no hot water in one of the bathrooms - also the heat lamps in the bathroom did not work - so we were unable to use that bathroom for showering / bathing. It was July (winter) and we were staying for 6 nights. Luckily there was a second shower and the hot water was working in that one. The "assistance" phone number that was posted on the wall in the kitchen was disconnected! We also tried to email the host and received no response. On checking out, we forwarded a handwritten list of the maintenance issues that needed addressing at the property to the host - we have had no response at all from the host to our suggestions / observations. Unfortunately, it seems that this is the only place left for us to post our comments in the hope that the host will see and action them. Please note that we still enjoyed our stay. The comments are intended for the host only, in order to make the property even better for the next guests. See photos of our handwritten notes attached.
- Ruth (7/5): Beds very comfortable. House nice and warm. Enjoyed the area. - No breakfast No T.V. Connection. Bathroom Shower very poor. Not used to the stove.
- Sally (6/5): Farmhouse in Nurri - The location and farmhouse The bathroom, one toilet, facilities dated
- Don (2/5): Consumer services should be following this is a disgrace to Booking.com for marketing it. - We have a very long list:-
The pool was very dirty with slime. Not been looked after. We chose a pool property so the G-children could swim.
Beds and sofa's sagged in the middle. Furnishings must have been from Op shops.
Poor maintenance - toilet roll-holder hanging off wall, fire extinguisher not maintained since 2005.
Only one toilet.
The house is a labrinth.
Exceeding poor value for money.
We will be seeking a partial refund for all the above.
The list goes on and on.
- Justine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Callie (10/5): Fabulous stay at Gabbys Holiday House, amazing quality accommodation for the price - Location was great, easy access to town. Beds were very comfortable and the house was clean and tidy. Beautiful view from the decking.
- Karla (9/5): Great stay.. highly recommend... comfy and cosy - The house location was fantastic, surround by grape vines was lovely, had some visitors (wallabies) I think in the evening it was nice. It was nice that heaters were provided in each room and the fireplace was amazing. A few items: For a 5 night stay a few extra tea towels for kitchen would be great, tell visitors they need to buy extra toilet paper, (I was OK just glad I brought some) don't want to be caught in a tricky situation, it was tricky to use the stove and oven.. leave instructions in an obvious place. Hot water in the main shower was no the greatest.. hardly any came out lucky the second shower was OK.
Having said that I was satisfied that I was able to communicate with the host and was very helpful which made the stay a relaxing and comfortable stay.
- Anonymous (6/5): Need free to air TV new Lounge - Fireplace but needed more wood
Big kitchen Toilet too far away for night visits
Front bedroom mattress very hard no top sheet - made with rough blanket in place of sheet weird!
Terrible lounge needs replacing.
- Scott (10/5): Loved the house and the location - Loved the house and the location was perfect. Host was very helpful too. The only thing would be if we had some wood available for the fire.
- Wayne (9/5): Lovely private location close to town and vineyards. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will be back - excellent location, clean & comfortable just couldn’t get the oven to work - more instruction needed there. Otherwise perfect
- Yunyun (10/5): had a nice stay - nice clean and good location toilet is a bit far and only had one inside the house
- Kathryn (9/5): Our stay was great We would recommend but hopefully you will take on board our recommendations - Beds were great, location was great . Facilities were generally great and we had a lovely weekend. Wood fire was great . very picturesque place. Linen was great but more than one t towel would be handy. Sad that the little basket of nibbles et. didn't promote the Barossa. Lounge is horrible- uncomfortable and the wrong shape for watching the Tv . Please check remote batteries all work as the Tv ones were flat. Couldn't find a bath mat either but maybe didn't look very well
