We offered to pay the next day, or with the USD. They accepted USD 100 at an exchange rate which was a lot worse than the rate we got at the nearest exchange in the morning (we paid the host 5usd extra from that 100 compared to the rate at the exchange). Make sure you pay in VND if you don’t like being shortchanged. There’s a kitchen, but not even cutlery. You need to bring your own.
