- Greg (3/5): very disappointed, dont stay at this location while Top Cornerstone Capital is managing the property - this proporty had a lot going for it but the negative items overweighed the good. property was basic clean and new, plenty of rooms, showers and bathrooms. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Springfield Lakes from 21/03/25 to 24/03/25. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations due to several significant issues:
Unclear Additional Charges: I was surprised to find that an additional deposit of $1000 was required to gain access to the property, which was to be paid 14 days in advance and promised to be refunded 7 days after departure. This arrangement was not clearly communicated prior to booking, nor was it explicitly mentioned in the main reservation details that I could be seen. Holding this amount as discretionary cash raised concerns about the legality of such practices.
Access Issues: Gaining access to the property was challenging due to difficulties with the electronic keypad. This led to delays and frustration for our group.
Kitchen Amenities: The kitchen sink did not have a plug, and we were provided with no dishwashing tablets for the dishwasher, necessitating handwashing with only one dish towel for seven guests.
Cleanliness Concerns: The pantry was unsanitary, filled with old crumbs and food waste. Additionally, the outside garbage bins were overflowing with rubbish and maggots, indicating a lack of maintenance.
Bedding Quality: The beds were uncomfortably hard, and there were no top sheets provided. We hoped the doonas had been washed, but this was uncertain.
Lawn Maintenance: The lawns had not been mowed, contributing to the overall neglected appearance of the property.
Furthermore, I faced significant challenges when attempting to retrieve the $1000 deposit from Top Cornerstone Capital, which manages the property. This situation compelled me to escalate my complaint to Booking.com and the Department of Fair Trading in order to recover my funds.
Although I eventually received my money back, the overall experience was disappointing and detracted from what was meant to be an enjoyable stay.
